Katie: I don't understand I have a great sense of humor, and I'm the main character of this fic why don't you people like me

Al: (rolls eyes) Let's add modest to the list too

Katie: (glares at Al) I have no time for your sarcasm.......AND STOP TAKING OUR FOOD!!!!!

Marik: (from downstairs) What does this button do?.......BOOM!!!......oops

Katie: AHHHHHH!!! (runs down stairs) WHAT DID YOU DO!!!!!!!

Marik: I just pressed the pretty red button that said 'do not push'

Katie: YOU ASSHOLE I WILL KILL YOU!!!!!!!(lunges at Marik)

Marik: (dodges) Hikari help

Katie: GET BACK HERE!!!!!!(chases after him)

Bakura: (still in net) Good going dipshit you pissed her off

Zip: Ass

Malik: -_-* Yea and this is coming from the morons who thought it was a good idea to dye her hair green

Bakura: Well we didn't think she have had traps set up

Yami: Well this is Katie were talking about

Ryu: (comes downstairs) Katie stop choking Marik

Katie: (loosens grip around his neck) Why?

Ryu: KF5 is coming back soon

Katie: O_O! GREAT NOW BECAUSE OF THIS PHYCO SHE'S GOING TO KILL ME!!!!!

Ryu: Oh when she finds out what Marik did to her basement she won't just kill him, she put him through the worse tortures ever, like the (shivers) furby torture

Al: (drops the bag of chips at the mention of 'furby') KF5 ain't that evil

Katie: As long as my ass doesn't get busted (grins evilly at Marik) then I guess it's not my problem

The rest of the week seemed to run by smoothly, if by smoothly you mean Kaiba and Katie always getting into arguments about stupid and pointless things then, yes it went VERY smoothly. But finally the weekend came and Katie had an interesting idea, a sleepover inviting all her friends over to the mansion to meet Al. Just one problem; Kaiba.

On Saturday morning Katie quietly snuck into Kaiba's room and gently shook him to wake him up. "Kaiba wake up"

"Unh bitch what are you doing in my room?" Kaiba asked groggily.

"Don't you work on Saturdays?"

"No I have this Saturday off now go back to sleep" Kaiba mumbled and pulled the covers over his head.

"Ah" Katie said biting her nail nervously *Dammit how am I supposed to get him out of the house if he's not working*

"There has to be a reason that you woke me up this early and I highly doubt its just to talk"

"Uh well actually....." Katie laughed nervously scratching her cheek "Can we talk about this somewhere where there are witnesses who will stop you from killing me?"

Kaiba sat up on his bed and glared at Katie "Why do I have I bad feeling about this?"

Katie looked up at Kaiba and immediatly started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Kaiba asked, one eyebrow raised.

Between fits of laughter she managed to say "Your.....hahaha.....hair"

Kaiba slept in such a way that all of his hair on the left side of his head was now in a mohawk type style on top of his head.

"Well sue me for not having enough time to comb and gel my hair" Kaiba said trying to press his hair down with his hands.

"You use gel?" Katie questioned. She recalled the moment in the hospital when she felt his hair and it didn't feel or look like he put gel in it at all.

"Only when it gets like this, and I swear to god if you tell anyone....."

"I won't, everyone has their own little secrets they like to keep to themselves. I won't tell.....yet anyways" She said while leaving.

At breakfast Katie and Kaiba sat opposite of each other while Mokuba and Al sat in the middle. You could almost see the tension between Katie and Kaiba as they were eating their breakfast. Mokuba sweatdropped.

Al shook her head and decided to break the silence. "I'm guessing you told him about the sleepover"

Kaiba's head shot up "What sleepover?"

"Oh shit you didn't tell him" Al sweatdropped as Katie slapped her forehead.

"No Al she didn't but since you seem to be in on her plans why don't you tell me?" Kaiba said glaring at Al.

"Um.......no cause it wasn't my idea it was Kate's so therefore you should ask her.....Bye" She ran out of the dinning room as fast as she could taking Mokuba with her.

"Will my brother be mad at Kate?"

"Mad doesn't even begin to describe it" Al said while running faster than normal to the 'bomb shelter' as she calls it.

*Gee thanks Al for your overwelming support* Katie thought.

"So what this I hear about a sleepover?" His arms were crossed across his chest, the scowl on his face seemed to threaten her very life.

"Uhh....well me and Al were talking and I realized she never met my friends from school and they never met her, so I was wondering...." She took a deep breath, and said really fast. "Canmyfriendsfromschoolsleepoverhereatthemansionforonenight"

Without blinking or even twiching an eyebrow he calmly said "No"

"PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASE" She begged with her usual puppy dog eyes. "You have so many rooms in the mansion, we won't bother you and I promise that they won't break anything, although I can't say much for Al"

Kaiba sighed "Who exactly are you inviting?"

Katie went over the list in her mind then finally said "Yugi, Ryou, Tea, Tristen, Duke, Joey and his sister (A/n she hasn't met her yet but when she asked Joey if he could come he said 'only if his sister could come too')

"Just seven?" Kaiba asked, and she nodded "Fine they can come"

"YAY!!!" She cheered and hugged Kaiba "Thank you Kaiba I'll make sure they don't bother you or break anything" With that she ran to Al's room to tell her that it was ok, leaving an embarrassed Kaiba behind her.

"Yay they're here" Katie cheered sliding down the railing to answer the door.

"She's more hyper than me" Al sweatdropped and followed after her making mental notes to keep her away from sugar.

"This is going to be fun" Kaiba said stressing out the word 'fun'

Katie opened the door and smiled "Hey Joey c'mon in I'm guessing this is your little sis"

"Yea, this is Serenity." He said quietly after they walked in, his expression seemed a bit sullen.

"Thank you so much for having me and my brother over, Katie" Serenity said with her head slightly bowed.

"It was nothing" Katie said scratching the back of her head. She could feel Kaiba's glare booring a hole in the back of her head. "But you should thank Kaiba, he allowed me to have this sleepover here at the mansion"

"Hmph, you have fun with your little sleepover Terrone cause it's the last one you'll have here at this mansion" He said in his usual cold voice and walked upstairs to his room.

"Will he be ok?" Serenity asked in a concern voice.

"Don't worry bout him he just doesn't like company too much" Al said calmly

"Oh right Serenity, Joey meet my friend Al"

"Yo" Al said cooly while smiling "Let's take your stuff up to your rooms"

"Thanks" Joey said quietly and threw his and Serenity's stuff at Al

"I DIDN'T MEAN THROW IT YA ASSHOLE!!!!" Al yell throwing all politness out the window.

"HEY WHO'RE YOU CALLIN' AN ASSHOLE, BITCH!!!!!!! YA SAID 'LET ME TAKE YOUR STUFF TO YOUR ROOMS' AND I GAVE IT TO YA!!!!" He yelled a bit madder then usual.

"DON'T YOU CALL ME A BITCH, MINI ELVIS!!!!!! I SAID 'LET'S TAKE YOUR STUFF TO YOUR ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' "

"YOU GOT A PROBLEM WIT MY HAIR WELL BRING IT ON AND DON'T DINK I'LL GO EASY ON YA JUST CAUSE YOUR A GIRL!!!!!!!!!" He yelled going into fight position.

"I have no problem with that" Al smirked and cracked her knuckles "I need some entertainment"

Katie sighed and heard the doorbell ring. "Don't beat him up too bad Al I want our guest to stay conscious" She yelled behind her as she opened the door revealing Tristen, Duke, Yugi, Tea, and Ryou.

"Hey are we late for the party" Tristen smiled as he and the others stepped in.

Behind her she could hear Joey and Al still fighting and poor Serenity trying to break it up. "No actually it just started"

Yugi tried to look behind Katie "What going on in there?"

Katie sweatdropped "Well long story short Joey picked a fight with the wrong person"

"LET GO OF MY ARMS BLOND BITCH!!!!!" Joey yelled behind her

Katie turned around and saw Joey lying on his stomach on the ground with Al on top of him. Al had both of his arms behind his back and one hand on the back of his head pushing it down.

"I'm not blond, I'm golden" Al said calmly while letting go of his arms and getting off his back.

"Ow" Joey said rubbing his wrists and stomped off to the room Al gave to the boys.

"Don't worry about it" Al said putting her hand on Katie's shoulder "He's just sore that I beat him, that's all. Let's take your friends to their rooms" Al smiled and picked up Joey's stuff and walked upstairs.

Katie glanced at Al as she left *What's up with Joey?*

^Hikari we have a seperate mindlink coming through from Ryou and Yugi. Shall I connect them^

(Uh guys is it just me or is Joey acting a bit weird)

*You mean weirder then usual than yes he is a bit weird today*

)Joey's girlfriend, you've never her met her yet but she has blond hair and lavender eyes, she wears mostly purple(

*Great now I'm going to have to force Al to apologize and that is not the easiest thing.* With that last thought Katie cut the mind link and sighed. *Poor Joey I guess I'll have to find some way to cheer him up too*

The rooms were set up so two things wouldn't happen. One, they put both rooms as far away from Kaiba's room as possible, and two, they made sure to put some distance between the two rooms to avoid little perverts like Tristen peeking in on them.

Al sighed and dumped Joey's things in the boy's room. "All the boys will sleep in here ok"

All the boys nodded a tiny bit afraid of Al after what she did to Joey.

"Good will the girls kindly follow me" All the girls obeyed except Katie who stayed in the room

"Hey Joey stop mopin' I know your upset about Mai but that's no reason to sulk all your life" Katie said poking at the side of his head.

"Makes me feel better" Joey growled and Katie stopped poking his head. *Well that didn't work*

"Listen Joey what the hell can I do to make you feel better"

"Leave me alone"

"Grr" Katie growled trying to prevent herself from saying what was on her mind *Well it's no wonder Mai broke up with you, you moody, stubborn sonofagun.*

"Look I appreciate what your doin' but it ain't helpin' so go away" Joey mumbled and crashed down on the bed.

"Ok this is scaring me, your starting to sound like Kaiba"

"Hmph, I hate rich boy so why would I wanna sound like him"

"I dunno you tell me"

Joey growled again and decided to ignore anything Katie would say.

"Well if you won't listen to me" She said while tossing him a duel disk she stole from Kaiba "Then how about a duel and if I win you have to stop moping and actually have some fun at this sleepover."

"Ok but if I win" He smirked. "You have to ask Kaiba out on a date"

Katie twitched "WHAT!?!?!?! ARE YOU MAD!?!?!?!?"

"Why? You two seem like da perfect couple, not ta mention, if there's one thing I want ta gain from dis duel it's blackmail material." Joey smiled and put on his duel disk. "Do we have a deal?"

Katie sighed "Fine let's duel"

(A/n duel scenes are hard to write and I didn't memorize Joey's deck so I'll skip to the last turn, here's the status both duelists are in:

Katie: Lifepoints-100, Monsters and Set cards on her side of the field-Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1(ATK/1400 DEF/1200) in defense mode no set cards, Cards in her hand- Shift(Trap), Dragon Treasure(Magic), Tyhone #2(1700/ATK 1900/DEF), Amazoness Chain Master(ATK/1500 1300/DEF), just drew Pot of Greed(Magic) and it's her turn.

Joey: Lifepoints-2100, Monsters and Set cards on his side of the field- Red-Eyes Black Dragon(2400/ATK 2100/DEF) in attack mode no set cards)

"Give it up Kate there's no way you can win, and besides.." Joey grinned "Ya boyfriend's waitin' "

"First of all he's not my boyfriend, second this isn't over yet" She placed down her Pot of Greed card and picked up two new cards. One was Skull Red Bird(1550/ATK 1200/DEF) and the other made Katie smirk. "I win"

"Huh what makes you so sure?"

"Cause I drew this, Change of Heart and I use it to control your Red-Eyes, now Red-Eyes attack Joey's life points directly." With that Joey's lifepoints drop to zero.

"Yay! I win now remember our deal Joey you have to stop moping for the entire sleepover, I can't help you get Mai off your mind if you won't let me"

"Yea an' I'm sorry I was acting such a jerk before" Joey said scratching the back of his head "An' I'm also sorry I almost gave ya a heart attack with da bet ta ask Kaiba out, I know dat your the only person dat hates him more than I do"

"Oh hate is such a powerful word how about; detest, loath, dispise...."

"It still means hate Kate, it's just a smarter way to say it" Al sweatdropped.

"Alright than hate it is" Katie smiled, but then she noticed the door to the boy's room was open a little bit and she saw a white trenchcoat rush past. Katie blinked *How long was he standing there, aw shit* She thought as she snatched the duel disks and ran out the door in the direction she thought she saw Kaiba go.

"Kate? Where are you going?" Al called behind her. "We're about to play some music and get out sugary snacks"

"I have to return these to Kaiba, I kinda borrowed them without permission"

"Ok but hurry back" Tea shouted from behind Al "We're going to play Truth or Dare soon"

Al smiled "And if you can bring Kaiba, there are a couple of personal questions I want to ask him" Al muttered with her evil plotting face on.

Katie peeked into Kaiba's room and saw Kaiba at his computer typing furiously "Kaiba? You ok?" Katie asked as she let herself in.

"Fine" Kaiba muttered coldly, not taking his eyes off the computer, even as Katie stood next to him.

"Your just so wordy today aren't you" Katie said putting a hand on his cheek and turning his head so she could look him in the eyes. "If your gonna eavesdrop on someone it might be smart to lose the trench coat"

Kaiba slapped her hand away and turned back to look at the computer, not saying anything.

"Ow a little meaner than usual I see" She reached over and hit the off button on the moniter "Is it because of what I said or do you just have these constant mood swings"

Kaiba, once again, said nothing and turned on the moniter and calmly began typing again.

Katie growled and reached from behind the desk "Now how do I shut this thing off"

Kaiba glared his usual cold glare and kick under the desk really hard.

"EEP!!!" Katie yelped in pain and took her hand out from behind the desk. "That was my hand you ass!!!" Her hand was red and swollen from the pain.

"I know, which is why I ask myself 'Why didn't I kick harder?' " Kaiba smirked, but his voice was dead serious.

"You know if my hand wasn't swollen I would slap you" Katie glared at his ignorance.

"Hmph and trust me if you don't get out of my room, I will kick you out"

Kaiba said once again glaring.

"Not until you tell me what's wrong"

"You seem to know already"

Katie gave off her innocent puppy eyes "Ok I'm sorry for what I said before but I didn't think you were listening"

"I didn't ask for an apology"

Katie fumed "Then what the hell do you want?"

Kaiba looked like he was about to say something but then shut his mouth and turned back to his computer. "Never mind just go hang out with your little friends and let me work"

"But you said you have off on Saturdays and besides" She said while grabbing his arm "They're your friends too"

Kaiba snatched his arm back "I have no friends, don't need them, don't want them"

"Look we don't have to be friends but can you at least play one game at this sleepover"

"No"

"How about I make a deal with you if you play one game and I mean a full out game from start to finish, I vow to leave you alone for an entire week, except on emergencies"

"Make it two weeks and you got yourself a deal oh and before I forget I've been meaning to give you a second job as a tester for some of my latest V.R. games."

"Why do you need a tester?" Katie asked a little nervous.

"Because my previous testers are now in an asylum because the virtual reality was too realistic for them"

"So reassuring" Katie rolled her eyes.

"You don't have to accept the job, unlike your cooking job you will get payed for it, and it is completly optional"

"How much does it pay?" Katie asked glancing at Kaiba's wallet in his trench coat.

"500$ per tested V.R. game"

"And why are you offering me this job?"

"One you might need new clothes which I am not giving you my credit cards for. Two, part of me wants to send you to the asylum........."

"Thanks" She said sarcasticly.

"And three the other part of me thinks you're capable of being able to stand that kind of stuff without going insane, don't let it go to you head though"

Katie grinned "Well if you expect so much from me, I can't afford to let you down, so I'll take the second job."

"Good, now about this bet, what game exactly do I have to play?"

Katie smirked and grabbed his arm "C'mon you'll see"

In the guy's bedroom, everyone else sat in a circle talking about something but then instantly stopped as soon as Katie and Kaiba entered the room.

"Hey guys, what were you talking about?" Katie asked a little skeptical.

As soon as this question was asked, Yugi looked down on the floor, Ryou and Duke developed a strange interest for the window, Tea and Serenity gave off a grin that was way too supisious to Katie, and Joey was mindlessly twidling his thumbs.

"Nothing," Al answered, "We were just discussing what type of truth questions that we were going to give Kaiba." Al smirked "We got some pretty interesting one's too"

"You seemed to have left out the fact that the game we were playing was Truth or Dare" Kaiba said glancing at Katie

"Oops did I leave that little detail out." Katie said giving off a cat-like smile and sat down next to Al.

Kaiba snorted and sat down next to Katie since it was the only open spot left (A/n SET-UP!!!).

"Since I did the impossible task of getting Kaiba here, I go first" Katie smiled.

"And don't forget the game's not over until everyone's been truth-or-dared" Al smirked at Kaiba as all hope of him escaping this game was destroyed.

"Ok" Katie reached in and spun the bottle, which landed on Al. "truth or dare"

"Uh, truth" Al said a little nervous.

"Where's the hidden camera in Kaiba's room?" She asked her arms crossed over her chest.

"Damn how did you know?" Al asked. Kaiba sweatdropped.

"Answer the question"

"In the upper right corner of his room" Al grumbled arms crossed "I'll just put up another one you know"

"There's a neat little invention Al it's called a lock"

"But I'll still get in" Al smirked

"Oh really, how?"

Al looked like she was about to say something but as soon as she saw Kaiba's face she shut up and looked down at the ground. Katie cocked her head in confusion as Kaiba muttered 'she almost told her' under his breath.

"Well anyway..."Al said as she spun the bottle "Who will be our next victim?" The spinning bottle landed on Joey. "Truth or Dare Joey?"

"Dare"

Al smirked, opened up a suitcase that Al mentioned was for this game, and pulled out a doggie suit. Tristen, Katie, and Duke began to bust out laughing while Yugi, Ryou and Tea tried to hold it in. Kaiba just smirked

"Nuh-uh I ain't doin' it"

"You have to, it's a dare"

"Dammit!" Joey wined holding the suit "Dis ain't fair"

"Heh, you're right Terrone, this is fun" Kaiba snickered

"You have to put it on Dog Boy" Katie laughed and wiped a tear from her eye.

"Just you wait till it's your turn Richboy" Joey smiled "We'll give you hell"

A few seconds later Joey finally threw away his dignity and put the dog suit on and if you thought it was hard to not laugh before, by the time he got it on everyone except Serenity, Kaiba, and Tea were laughing.

"Aww I think he looks cute in it" Tea smiled and hugged Joey.

He pushed Tea away. "I ain't supposed ta be cute" Joey growled and sat down with his arms crossed.

"Anyway it's your turn Doggie Boy" Al smiled as Joey reached in to spin the bottle. Luck have it, it landed on Kaiba.

"Shit this game has to be rigged" Kaiba muttered and Joey was laughing hysterically.

"Truth or Dare Richboy"

"Dare" Kaiba glared Katie could tell by the look on Joey's face that Kaiba had made the wrong choice.

"I dare you ta kiss Kate on da lips for a total of thirty seconds"

There was a second of silence for it to sink in until finally, the explosion "WHAT!!!!!" Katie and Kaiba yelled completely red.

"Ahahahahaha that wasn't one discussed Joey but you know it's perfect ahaha" Al said laughing so hard she was crying. "I just wish I could find my camera"

"I-I'm not doing it" Katie said still blushing.

"Oh relax Kate you don't havta do anythin' Kaiba has to kiss you for thirty seconds and don't try ta skip out I have a timer on this watch" Joey said as he glanced at Kaiba.

"Do I have to?" Kaiba blushed.

"If I'm wearing this doggie suit then it's only fair"

"Fine" Kaiba grumbled as he leaned closer to Katie and gently pressed his lips against her's.

"And start" Joey said as he started the timer on his watch.

Katie who was still blushing gave Joey the finger and a glare that said 'Don't sleep tonight or you'll wake up and find me with a chain saw at the foot of your bed'

Then slowly Kaiba's arm snaked around her waist to pull her close and what was before a reluctant kiss became more passionate and loving. Katie blinked, a little surprised, and then slowly closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Tea and Serenity giggled and sighed while Al gave off a smirk that said 'I'm never gonna let this down'

Joey hit the button on the timer and said "Time's up"

*GODDAMMIT!!!!! Why couldn't Joey make it an hour* Katie cursed in her mind as she slowly unwrapped her arms from around his neck and broke away from the kiss.

As soon as Kaiba realized what he just did he got up and walked towards the door.

"What's wrong richboy can't admit you love someone" Joey teased

Kaiba just glared at him and growled "I don't need a girl getting in the way of my work, I've lived my whole life without anyone and trust me if I needed someone it as sure as hell would Kate" and walked out of the room.

"Hey wait it was his turn to spin the bottle" Al said glancing at the bottle. "Now whose gonna do it?"

"I'll do it" Katie mumbled as she span the bottle again and while it was spinning something dawned on her. *He called me by my first name*

After the game it was getting late so all the girls went into the girl's bedroom to sleep. But of course, if you ever been to a girls sleepover with preppy girls they always decide to talk about boys.

"So what was it like" Tea asked poking a half asleep Katie.

"Wha....?" Katie asked, her half asleepness made her a little confused as to what 'it' was.

"The kiss?" Serenity asked "What was the kiss like?"

"I really don't want to talk about it" Katie grumbled and turned on her side to look away from them and the light.

"Please" they both begged and began to poke at her side and ask her a bunch of different questions.

"Was it your first kiss?" Tea asked

"If not who was?" Serenity asked

"Is Kaiba a good kisser?"

"Can you describe what it felt like?

"YES IT WAS MY FIRST, YES HE IS A GOOD KISSER AND I COULD DESCRIBE IT BUT I WON'T, NOW GO TO F****** SLEEP!!!!!!" Katie yelled and buried her head into her pillow.

Serenity and Tea obeyed Katie and crept quietly into their sleeping bags.

*Finally now for some sleep* Katie thought as she closed her eyes for a much needed sleep.

Katie's dream

Katie blinked back a tear as she stood in front of her parents grave. She was now eight and she was covered in dirt, scratches, and bruses, but that was not why she was crying.

"Mom, Dad what should I do?" Katie asked as she placed a rose by each of their graves. "I'm scared, uncle Terrone is still at large and he said he would kill me. Where should I go?" She then sat down, brought her knees close to her chest and began to cry.

All around her dark clouds were coming in and it started to rain but she didn't care she just sat their and kept crying.

All of a sudden she felt a warm blanket come around her and an umbrella came over her head.

She turned around fast and saw a guy about twenty, with black, spiky hair and brown eyes holding the umbrella over her head with a warm smile on his face. "You'll catch your death out here in this rain, I'm sure your mom must be worried."

Katie wiped her eyes and then shook her head. "No my mom knows where I am" She pointed to her mother's grave "She's right there"

"Oh" the guy muttered "I'm so sorry"

"Nah don't worry about it" Katie said giving off a weak smile.

"Look at you, your all messy and covered with scratches and you look like you haven't eaten, slept, or got new clothes in years" The guy sighed. "Why don't come with me and we'll get you some food"

"O-ok" Katie said a bit shocked that someone who just met her was being so nice to her. "Thanks mister"

"Please call me Tasuke" The man smiled once again and gently picked her up and carried her out of the cemetery. "And it's no problem"

Katie sighed and gently closed her eyes, and when she opened them again she found herself lying on a bed with silken sheets covering her.

She sat up on the bed and looked out the window, it was sunny and there were a few puddles from last night's rain.

"Well look whose up" She heard Tasuke say cheerfully at the doorway to the room she was in with a bowl of soup and a piece of bread on a tray in his hands.

He set the tray down on the table and sat down on the bed next to her. "I forgot to ask you your name, little girl"

"It's Katie"

"Well Katie I really hope you don't eat much cause the only thing I can cook without blowing the house up is soup and ramen. But judgin' from the look of you I think you'll eat anything as long as it's an edible subtance" Tasuke smiled and handed Katie her food.

"Didn't your parents teach you how to cook?" Katie asked eating her soup fast dispite how hot it was.

"Nah, my mom died as soon as I was born and my dad died in a car crash when I was your age" Tasuke sighed a bit sullen and then said cheerfully "They didn't really have time to teach me anything"

"Oh" Katie said and then looked up at the desk and saw a picture of a young couple. The women was pregnant and her husband was holding her close and kissing her neck.

Tasuke followed her gaze and sighed "Yea that was my mom and dad two months before she had me, I wondered if she knew that that very same child would be the cause of her death"

"It's not your fault" Katie said quietly. "You didn't have a choice and neither did she"

"Actually she did. My dad told me that when she was about to die the doctors asked her if she wanted to kill the child to save herself and you know what she said?"

Katie shook her head.

"She said 'No I would rather be dead than to kill my first child' and that was it my mother was dead, and I was born." He looked at the photograph on the desk. "Some days I wish I was the one dead while my mother lives a happy life like she did before I was born."

Katie looked down at her empty soup bowl (A/n Damn I ate fast *frying pan gets thrown at her* sorry for ruining the moment *gets another frying pan thrown at her* I'll shut up now) then back up at Tasuke and finally said "A parent would sacrfice anything for their child, I would understand that better than anyone. They get this drive to do incredibly stupid or selfless things like give up their life, take a killing stab or a bullet to protect him or her. I never met your mom but I should thank her cause if it wasn't for her sacrifice you wouldn't be alive and I wouldn't have met you."

Tasuke blinked for a second as tears welled up in his eyes "Aw shit your makin' me cry" Tasuke said wiping his eyes.

Katie smiled "Nothing's wrong with crying when your happy."

Tasuke smiled and hugged Katie "Thank you"

"Urk, Your.......crushing me......Tasuke"

"Haha, sorry"

Two months later

BOOM!!!

"AW SHIT!!! KATE GET THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!!!"

"YOU BLEW UP DINNER AGAIN TASUKE!!!!!!"

"SHUT UP AND GET ME THE EXTINGUISHER!!!!"

Katie ran into the hallway and picked up the fire extinguisher and put out the fire that Tasuke was franticly trying to pat down.

"Whew, well looks like Chinese again Kate" Tasuke said wiping the sweat off his face.

"I swear to god, if I have one more eggroll I am going to explode"

"Well I told you I couldn't cook so you can't expect me to make you food"

"Which is why I took a cooking class"

"What? When? And how much did it cost?"

"Alot less then two months of take-out for two that's for sure" Katie said puting some water on the stove to boil. "And I payed for it with my own money"

"How did you get the money?" Tasuke asked a little curious.

"I hustled it off the older kids in gambling"

"I swear your turning more and more like me everyday." Tasuke sighed

"No, if I was like you I'd be coming home drunk" Katie said giving off a cat-like smile.

"Ha ha very funny" Tasuke said sarcasticly "What are you makin' anyways?"

"Chicken and white rice with a side of carrots" Katie said as she poured the rice into the pot and added two bulon cubes, and 1/2 stick of butter.

"Do we even have chicken?"

"If we didn't, I went shopping and got us some chicken cutlets along with other stuff we might need"

In a bowl she cracked two eggs, poured in 1/2 a cup of milk, and began mixing it with a whisk. On a plate she poured out some bread crumbs and opened up the chicken cutlets and dipped them in the egg-milk mixture then into the bread crumbs and finally placed them in a pan filled with hot oil. She then started the water for the carrots.

"This is sad," Tasuke said as he watched her cook. "I have an eight year old who cooks better than me."

"Don't worry, when I become rich and famous off of my cooking and the newspaper interviews me I'll say 'It's all because Tasuke can't cook for shit.' "

"Haha yea, well don't go around saying the words I use cause then the goverment might try to take you to an orphanage" Tasuke said looking a little sad at the thought.

Katie smiled and hugged his arm "Then I'll give them the cute act saying 'Pwese don't take me away fwom my daddy I wove him' " Katie said her eyes big.

"Alright alright ya don't have to show me" Tasuke said trying to look away from the eyes.

Katie giggled and let go of his arm to stir the rice, and to flip the chicken.

"Oh by the way, I did a bit of internet surfing and found out your birthday's today, is that true?"

"It is but I don't want anything I already got the best present I could ask for and to ask for something else would be greedy of me"

"Well to bad cause I got you something anyway"

"REALLY WHAT!?!?!" Katie squealed.

Tasuke sweatdropped and finally said "Close your eyes"

Katie obeyed and held out her hands. After two seconds of nothing she felt something heavy and cold being put into her hands. She opened her eyes and saw a beautiful gold sword decorated with rubies.

"Do you like it?" Tasuke asked noticing her huge smile. "My grandfather was an archeologist and while he was in Egypt he found that sword along with some hieroglyphs about how a new goddess was to be born on this earth and she would recieve that sword and save the world from evil once again"

"Really" Katie said her eyes sparkling.

"Well no one in my family believed it and until now I didn't believe it ethier, but now I think that maybe you were meant to have that sword and that you were meant to become a goddess" Tasuke said while placing a hand on her shoulder and smiling "And even if you don't become a goddess I know you will take good care of it"

"THANK YOU TASUKE!!!" Katie screamed as she hugged Tasuke around the neck.

Then her dream shifted to Tasuke lying down on the ground and covered in his own blood. Her uncle had one foot on his stomach and a gun pointing at Tasuke's head.

"Where is she?" Her uncle asked impatiently "Where are you hiding her?"

"Don't know who your talkin' about" Tasuke smirked.

"Brat, bitch, my punching bag, the target for this gun, I have alot of names for her tell me where she is or this bullet is going straight to your head"

"I still don't know who your talking about, the only one who lives here is me and my daughter and she's none of those things you mentioned, now leave"

"You actually think she's your daughter" Phil laughed. "Please she's nothing to you, she's just some kid you found off the street, and she's probably nothing but trouble for you in fact it's because of her that you are going to die, now tell me where she is and stop protecting her!" Her uncle yelled his finger was itching to pull the trigger on his gun.

"Don't you know that a parent would do selfless and supid things to protect their child?" Tasuke smiled.

"Then die with your foolish love" And with that Phil pulled the trigger and Tasuke was dead.

End of Dream

"TASUKE!!!!!!" Katie's eyes shot open as she felt cold water being thrown at her face.

"CALM DOWN KATE!!!!!" Al yelled. All around her, Katie's friends, even Kaiba, was by the edge of her bed with a concern look on all their faces.

"Uh what's up guys?" Katie said nervously laughing.

"How the hell did you do that?" Al asked their was a look of shock on her face.

"What? Scream? It's easy, you just open your mouth and...."

"Not that" Kaiba said with his arms folded in front of his chest. "That" He said pointing to a half melted window.

"I-I didn't do that" Katie said a little shocked that they thought she melted the window.

"Yea you did I saw you. You were having a nightmare something about someone named Tasuke, and then when I tried to shake you up, your eyes shot open except they were red, and then you threw a fire ball at the window. So I threw some water on your face and here we are now"

"No way" Katie said looking at her hands. She noticed that the ruby on her finger was glowing and then it faded.

"Wow cool, your just like me" Al said as she closed her eyes. Katie looked at her hands and saw a water ball form in her hands.

"Great, I have another freak working for me" Kaiba muttered holding his head in his hands.

"I guess you don't know how to use your powers yet so I'll train you, Ok?"

"Sure" Katie said a little drowsy, all of this supernatural power stuff was a bit to much for her to take in at the moment.

All of the boys, as soon as they were sure Katie was ok, left except for Kaiba

"By the way" Kaiba asked glancing at Katie "Who is Tasuke?"

Katie blinked and gave a teasing smile "Why? You jealous?"

Kaiba glanced the other way blushing "No I'm just curious that's all"

Katie smiled and leaned back down on her bed "Well that info is for me to know and for you to never find out"

"Fine I'm not going to force the info out of you but I would someday like to know" Kaiba said as he left, leaving Katie and the girls alone to sleep.

"Whatever you say master Kaiba" she shouted back to him a curled back into the warm covers to sleep.

Katie: anyone else think this was a cute chapter?

Al: Marik is gone and so are my explosives

Everyone else: (hears Marik laughing maniacally on the roof)
