CHAPTER TWO

SPRING BREAK

The bell at Domino High School rung as all the students rushed out. Nobody waited for the teacher to dismiss them, the students just dismissed themselves. It was spring break and everyone was in a hurry to get home and enjoy their free week. In the halls, Tristan is trying to pry open his jammed locker as Joey came up to him. "Yo Trist, guess wut?"

"What?" Tristan asked, still distracted by his locker. "Dang, how am I going to do all of that homework all the teachers assigned if I can't even open my locker?"

Joey told Tristan to move aside, and he kicked the locker hard. The locker magically opened as he smiled towards Tristan. "Well, mah sista's comin' ta visit this spring break."

Duke Devlin had walked pass the two and caught what Joey had said. Both Tristan and Duke replied with a , "Really!?"

Joey nodded, "And she's stayin' for a month. She's skippin' school where she lives ta hang out with us."

Both boys gaped at Joey as Yugi walked up to the little group. Joey told Yugi the news and Yugi was glad to hear she was visiting, but he still couldn't figure out with Tristan and Duke had such odd expressions on their face just because Serenity was visiting. "So, when is she coming by?" Yugi asked.

"This afternoon," Joey replied happily. Immediately Tristan and Duke asked if they could come over after school today to hang out at Joey's. Of course, Joey said that they could and the four walked over to Joey's apartment.

Katrina met up with Tea, her new best friend. She had been new at this school, but was accepted automatically as a rather popular student. "So Tea, what are you doing this spring break?"

Tea pondered over the question. "I really don't know yet. What are you doing?"

Katrina shook her head, and said, "Same."

That moment, Tea's cell phone and she answered. After a short conversation, she announced that Mai was coming over to her house today. Katrina, who had never met Mai ever, she agreed to come and meet her. Most unfortunately for the two girls, they couldn't go home right after school, because they had cheer practice. Both Tea and Katrina were on cheer squad and were proud of being cheerleaders. (-_-u)

Once Joey and the rest had reached his home, Tristan asked whether or not Joey had some food for them. Joey pulled out bags of chips and soda as the four pigs sat in front of the television, pigging over the food and watching basketball. During the basketball game the four noticed that Duke and Tristan had been very sharply disliking of each other. After they couldn't stand constant staring at each other and couldn't avoid each other's rude glares, they both excused themselves to have a talk to each other outside.

"Eh, what do you think your doing here anyway, Duke?" Tristan asked angrily.

"Well, I'm here for the same really you're here!" Duke answered tossing a mad look at Tristan.

"I don't know what you're talking about Duke! I'm here because I'm Joey's friend, and he needs to be supported when his sister comes."

"Well, I'm Joey's friend too, so I can support him just as you can."

"Yeah right, you're only here because you have a crush on Serenity. Plus Joey doesn't even like you," Tristan yelled.

"Well, SERENITY doesn't like YOU!" Duke exclaimed furiously.

"What do you think you're talking about? Serenity adores me. It's you that she doesn't like. I mean, who would ever like you, Dice boy?"

"Notice that I have my own set of cheerleaders? Do you? Huh?"

Tristan's expression was blank. "Well, I don't need cheerleaders for Serenity to like me."

"Oh yeah? Well she probably doesn't think you're hot enough!"

That got Tristan pissed enough to charge at Duke and punched him in the face. Fortunately it wasn't very hard, and Duke too furious to think, punched him back in the stomach. Tristan fell to the ground and grabbed Duke around him neck, trying to choke the daylight him. Duke kicked him off, but Tristan jumped back up and pulled his arm backwards.

Joey and Yugi from inside heard all the commotion and ran outside too see what was going on. They were a bit too late. Once they had gotten outside and saw Tristan tugging on Duke's poor arm, they heard a distinctive `crack' telling them that Duke's arm had been broken.

Tristan immediately charged and yelled, "I'M SORRY! I didn't mean any of it. REALLY!" But Duke was in too much pain to listen to what they were trying to tell him. Joey, Yugi, and Tristan rushed him to the hospital, and waited for Duke to be x-rayed and bandaged up.

Meanwhile, Tea and Katrina were at Tea's house accompanied with Mai Valentine. Mai and Katrina were introduced and they had immediately were glad they had met each other. They both liked each other's style of dress, makeup, and both liked to duel for money to shop. However the difference was that Mai had been a much more experienced duelist, whereas Katrina had only won very small competitions and tournaments.

As the three were discussing each other's clothes, Tea's new magazine arrived in the mail. As Tea and Katrina were trying to prepare a little snack, Mai looked through the magazine until she came across an advertisement that interested her. She called Tea and Katrina into the room to see the ad, and they peered at it, reading it interestedly. It read:

Do you think you've got what it takes to become Queen of Duel Monsters?

If you do, remember to sign up for this year's annual Miss Duel Monsters Pageant.

This tests your beauty, your stamina, your communication skills, and most importantly your dueling abilities.

This will be taking place at Domino Recreational Center, and this will be broadcasted worldwide.

Prizes include ONE MILLION DOLLARS and the title of MISS QUEEN OF DUEL MONSTERS.

The three girls looked excitedly at each other. Of course they would be joining, but Tea pointed out something that made the three giggle. "Look, this competition is being hosted by Kaiba Corp. Can you guys imagine SETO KAIBA hosting such a thing?"

"No way!" Mai said, as she took a closer look at the magazine. "Kaiba would probably go nuts before he'd host something like this."

Katrina, who knew Seto Kaiba from class, nodded her head. "He'd never. He doesn't even look like he's interested in anything besides his company. How did it come to him to host a beauty pageant. He's not even interested in girls!"

Tea and Mai looked at Katrina suspiciously. "Now Katrina, how would you know that he's not interested in girls?" Tea asked.

Katrina blushed remembering when she was put in his biology lab group. She asked if he'd like to come over and help her catch up on the biology homework. He, who got the wrong message, told her that he wasn't interested in going out, or having a girlfriend EVER.

Despite what the three thought of Seto Kaiba, they would still sign up for the competition. A chance at one million dollars was awesome, because if either Mai or Katrina could spend it on clothing, or Tea could spend it on dance school in New York. Katrina and Mai then felt selfish, trying to win for such a pathetic reason so instead agreed to enter to help out Tea. Tea cried when they said that and she then preached about how great her friends were. Katrina told her to shut up or she would take the money back. That shut Tea up, but she was still glad that she had such great friends.

At the hospital, Duke lying in bed with his arm in a cast. He over exaggerated his pain, and blamed and teased Tristan until he was in misery. However when the doctor had asked him how he got his injury, he said that he fell down. Tristan's and Duke's friendship had been assuaged.

Serenity arrived and was brought to the hospital. She felt very sorry for Duke's broken arm, but Joey teased her and told her that Duke's arm was broken because of her. Serenity however didn't understand why it was her fault but all she was, "Gosh, you started out Spring Break with a break. That must really suck, Duke."

A/N: Poor Poor Dukey. Sorry Duke fan girls about Duke's broken arm. Yup, we all feel sorry for him (although I don't like him much) but hey, broken arms hurt! Well, at least we got the point that they figured that there is a duel pageant and Serenity and Mai have both arrived in Domino City. Next Chapter will be up soon… including more of the main characters especially the Ishtars. The pageant will actually be starting SOON!
