"Outta da way, punk!" The larger teen rushes off.
"Harsh...you okay?" Kurt picks up a few fallen books.
"Hai, dai jou bu."
"Vha?"
"Oh, ah, I mean, yeah...I'm okay." Kurt hands him his books.
"You're new, yah? I'm Kurt Wagner."
"I'm Yugi Mutou, it's nice to meet you. Thanks for helping me."
"No problem, there are sum real jerks around `ere. You need help getting to class?"
"Actually, I am a little lost."
"I'll show you around then!"

"Hey Kurt, who's your friend?"
"Jean, guys, this is Yugi!"
"It's nice to meet you," he replies with a bow.
"Like, hey! I'm Kitty."
"I'm Scott."
"I'm Jean..."
"Are you like, an exchange student?" wonders Kitty.
"Actually I've just moved here from Japan."
"Oh wow! Your English is like, great!" Yugi blushes. "How do you get your hair like that? How did you get it those colors? What gel do you use?" Scott chuckles.
"Give him a chance to answer, Kitty."
"Oh yeah, like sorry." Yugi has a little sweatdrop.
"That's okay..." Smiles. "Actually my hair is natural."
"Like no way! That's so totally unfair!"
"How does it stand like that?" asks Kurt, poking the spiky mass. Yugi sweatdrops again.
"Hey!"
"Oops, sorry, Summers." Lance doesn't sound one bit sorry for spilling his drink on the redhead.
"You total jerk!" shouts Miss Pryde. "You like, did that on purpose!" Lance shoots her a grin.
"Aw, dun be like that, Kitty." Scott growls and Jean doesn't look too happy either.
"Just leave, Lance," the older girl practically orders. The smirking teen just shrugs.
"Fine, whatever." He gives Yugi a peculiar glance as he leaves.
"Like geez, what was THAT all about?" Kurt shrugs and looks to Yugi.
"Don't you mind him. Lance is a real jerk."
"Ha-hai..."
"I'm going to go clean up." Scott leaves the little group.
"Hey, you like, okay? You're like, nervous or something."
"I'm fine." Jean raises an eyebrow.

Kurt glances over to Yugi, the smaller boy has been stealing fleeting looks at the door since class started. "Hey, Yug. You okay?"
"Oh, hai! Er, yeah. I'm okay." He flashes the disguised mutant a smile before returning to his book. Kurt scratches his head and turns back to his own assignment. Looking up a minute later proves Yugi gone from his seat. He sees the boy leaving with Lance just outside the door. "Vha?!" Peeking at the nearly asleep teacher, he too sneaks out.
"Damn, Yug! What are you doin' gettin' all cozy with them freaks?"
"Nani?"
"Don't give me 'nani'! Those were the X-geeks!"
"They were?"
"Yes! Yes! HAI! Wakarimasu ka?"
"Hai. Gomen nasai." Lance groans and runs a hand through his bangs.
"Yeah yeah, whatever, dai jou bu, blah blah blah." The older boy swings an arm about Yugi's shoulders in a friendlier gesture. "Listen, we got a 'party' goin' on tonight."
"Ho-hontou?"
"Hai hai hai," with a groan. "The fun starts at midnight. Wear your casuals."
"Un."
"Good, see ya."
"Jaa..." Violet eyes close as he leans against the wall. "What do you think, Yami? Yeah probably...it's just...well yeah, but...okay...But Yami...oh. Alright then."
Blink. Blink. Kurt rubs his eyes. Nope, Lance and Yugi are still acting all buddy buddy. "A party? Why wasn't I invited?" Words he doesn't understand, something about casual wear, and why is Yugi talking to himself? He scratches his head. "Yami? What's that? A dessert?" The bell rings. "Uh oh."

At the Xavier Institute...
"That new kid is kinda cute, ya know? And his hair is soooooo cool, sorta freaky, but cool." In the background Kurt can be heard mumbling, 'cool, maybe that's what yami means?'
"I don't know, Kitty. Something was...off about him."
"Like whatever, Jean. He's foreign, of course he's like, all off."
"Off, could it mean off?"
"I don't think that's what Jean meant," says Scott. "Did you sense something about him?"
"Yeah, it was faint but there's a...darkness. A shadow." Kitty-kat blinks.
"Huh?"
"Darkness! Maybe it means darkness!"
"What crack are you on, Kurt?" questions Kitty.
"Yug said some word I don't know. Oh, there's sum party goin' tonight."
"I haven't heard of any party," states the sunglassed leader.
"Neither have I," Jean says, a bit miffed. "Where did you hear this?"
"Lance was tellin' Yug earlier."
"WHAT?"

Yugi stares at the back of the chemical research lab. "Guys...I'm not so sure about this..."
"Don't wimp out on us now, Yug!" A silver blur runs around Yugi.
"Yeahwe'llruncirclesaroundthesejokers!"
"Yeah yo! We'll be in an' out befo' they even know yo!"
"Oh really?" From the shadows out step Cyclops, Jean, Shadowcat, Rogue, and Spyke.
"WhatareyouX-geeksdoinghere?"
"What do you think? DUH!" spats Spyke.
"Where's da blue dweeb?" Blob scratches his yellow Mohawk. "I wanna smash him!"
"What do you think you're doing?" questions Cyclops. "Why are you bringing Yugi into this?"
"Cause he's a mutant yo! He's gonna help free all the imprisoned mutants yo!"
"Like what?"
"Yugi!" Everyone looks over as Kurt runs onto the scene.
"Kurt?"
"Yugi, what are you doing with them?" inquires the hologram-covered boy.
"I...I..." Violet melts into red. Smirk. "I'm here to keep you busy."
"Let's see what ya got!" Spyke shoots off some bony spears before anyone can protest. Yugi agilely dodges. The Japanese boy holds a hand out towards the bleached blond.
"Shadow Realm!"
"Spyke!" Kurt pushes the dark-skinned boy out of the way, getting hit by the ball of darkness instead.
Everything goes black.
"Vha? Vhat is this?" Kurt looks all around, but there's only darkness, a void. In front of him a Yugi that isn't Yugi appears.
"You are in a pocket of the Shadow Realm, here I rule all."
"Why are you doing this, Yugi?" Crimson eyes narrow.
"I am not Yugi." Smirk. "I know the perfect game for this occasion."
"Vha? Game?"
"The rules are simple. Beat me in my game and you shall go free, lose and you leave us alone. But I warn you, try to cheat and you WILL be punished. I challenge you to my game! Who am I?"
"VHA? What sort of game is this?"
"Who am I?"

"Ah!"
"Jean!" Scott catches the girl before she hits the ground. "Jean, are you alright?"
"That barrier...whatever it is I can't get through it." The members of the Brotherhood laugh.
"Shut up!" They jump out of the way of bony projectiles.
"Let's rumble, losers!" shouts Avalanche.

Kurt is stumped. Except for the eyes this guy is definitely his new buddy Yugi, but he said he isn't Yugi, so who the heck can he be?
"Time's wasting."
"I have a time limit?!"
"Of course, we can't stay here all of eternity after all."
"Scheiße! Wait..."
**"Jaa..." Violet eyes close as he leans against the wall. "What do you think, Yami? Yeah probably...it's just...well yeah, but...okay...But Yami...oh. Alright then."**
"Yami."
"Nani?"
"You're Yami!"
"How did you...?" An amused smile. "It doesn't matter. You have won my game." With a bow, the darkness disappears.

The battle has been pretty even so far, the Brotherhood holding their own. Everything stops when the surrounding space returns to normal. Without a word, Yami turns towards the Brotherhood boarding house.
"Where are ya going yo?"
"He won my game, I'm leaving."
"What the? You can't just leave!" Blob pounds hammy fists together.
"Let him go," orders Lance.
"Whatthe?Whythehellshouldwelethimdothat?Justcausehe'snew?"
" Just let him go."

In Yugi's room...
"Yami, what happened?" Yugi stares at the cracked ceiling from his bed.
//"Don't worry about it, aibou."//
"Demo..."
//"Dai jou bu. Nothing happened."//
"...Hai." Yugi rolls over onto his stomach and escapes into the world of dreams.
I'm sorry if this seems a little rushed. My Muse and I were a little strapped for ideas.
