Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Nightmare ❯ Magic & Wizards ( Chapter 19 )
(Well, I live! Lol. Uhm....Here's the next chappie..... *sweatdrop* Still in 10th grade....)
-~^~-
`I think that Seto knows that he doesn't actually have to work at Kaiba Corp, since I take care of him and Mokuba-chan, but he works, none-the-less. It might have something to do with boredom, or he might be lonely. I'm never sure, and I don't ask. Anyway, because he works, I give him spending money. I have a feeling he uses the money to buy little gifts for Mokuba-chan and Yuugi-kun, rarely for himself. Well, it's his money, he can do with it as he pleases.
`The people at work all like him. He's quick and funny, but he can be serious when he needs to. He doesn't have a specific job, so he works wherever he's needed, as long as it's not my office. We generally stay away from one another at work, just like at school. Even when Chichiue used to take us with him, we'd basically keep as far away from each other as possible. I suppose one could call it a kind of self-control for us, the game we always play. Hate one another. They'll never connect us now! Yeah right.
`Bed's calling me. Oyasumi....'
~Kaiba Noa's Diary

"We're here, Ojiisan." I call, holding the door open for Seto and Jou, who is, once again, carrying Yuugi piggyback.
Ojiisan smiles around a customer. "Go on back, boys. I'll join you shortly."
Seto moves ahead of us and I hurry to catch up to him. I find him cornering Mokuba. "-and if you get suspended ONE MORE TIME-!" I slap a hand over his mouth.
"Seto, koi, calm down. Yelling won't help." I say calmly in his ear.
"Were you two having another make-out session in the back of the limo?" Mokuba inquires. It's no wonder he's always in trouble.
Seto lets out an annoyed growl and pulls my hand from his mouth. "You little-Mmmph!" I cover his mouth again with a sigh.
"Yes, we did. Stop pissing Seto off, Mokuba-chan."
Mokuba pouts. "Niisama hate me..." He sniffles.
I breath a sigh of relief as Seto calms down. He pulls from my grasp and hugs Mokuba lovingly. "Gomen Mokuba-chan. I didn't mean to yell." He mumbles. I catch the glint of victory in Mokuba's stormy blue-grey eyes.
I roll my eyes as I pull out my cell phone. Then I turn to raise an eyebrow at a gaping Jou. Yuugi is giggling at him. "Yes, Jou?"
"You're gay." Jou states blandly.
"Good observation, mutt." Seto calls from behind me.
"You're with each other." Jou mumbles.
"Slow, isn't he?"
"Seto, be nice." I sigh.
"And you act like you hate one another at school."
"Bravo." Seto claps teasingly.
I snort. "All of that is true, yes. Now, if you'll all excuse me, I need to make a quick call." I dial my secretary.
"Who are you calling, Niisan?" Mokuba asks, appearing in front of me.
"He's taking the day off." Seto plops down in one of the chairs.
"Really?!" Mokuba gapes at me. Yuugi looks surprised.
I nod as my secretary answers. "Kaiba Noa's office. Kaiba-shacho is not here at the moment, may I take a message?"
"Besy-san, it's me." I say calmly, in my business voice.
"Oh! Kaiba-shacho! May I help you with something?"
"I'm taking today off."
"You have that meeting today with your board of directors." Besy mumbles. I hear paper shuffling in the background. "And you're supposed to test a new prototype today."
I glance at Seto and mouth `Prototype?' He grins. "Oh, I forgot about that. It was supposed to be a surprise. We can do it. Mokuba-chan and the mutt should like it."
"What about me?" Yuugi whines.
You're sick, Yuugi-kun." I reprimand before returning to my phone. "Reschedule the damned meeting, they say the same damned thing everytime."
"Right away, sir. What about the prototype?"
"What time is it set for?"
"It doesn't have a set time." Besy mumbles. "It just says, `whenever'."
"Can I guess that this is written in Yagami-san's handwriting?" I grumble, giving my koibito a dry look. He returns in with a grin.
"Hai. Should I have them reschedule that?"
"No, no. I'll be there. If it says whenever, I'm sure I can find time."
"Of course, sir. I will cancel your meeting for you and leave any messages on your desk, then?"
"Hai. I'll definitely be in tomorrow." I decide.
"I'll reschedule the meeting for tomorrow, then."
"Yes, that will be fine. See you tomorrow." I hang up and return the phone to my pocket. "Fucking bastards. Tempted to miss a meeting, just to see what they'd do." I grumble.
"The board meeting?" Seto guesses.
"What else?" I snort. "Bunch of old farts."
"I told you to fire them last year." Seto points out.
I sit in his lap. "What's this new prototype that I can come test whenever?" I poke his side as I twist to look at him.
"Not telling." Seto waggles a finger in my face.
"But koi!" I whine, pouting. Jou laughs behind me, and both Seto and I look at him. "What?" I grumble, working one hand up under Seto's shirt.
"For a second there, I thought you were almost twice your age, but then you started whining, and that ruined it." Jou giggles.
I smile tiredly. "I suppose I have gained a more adult-like outlook on life the past few years."
Seto lets out a sudden shout as I squeeze his pants over his dick. "Get off me, you villain!" He growls.
I smile innocently. "What's the prototype, Seto-chan?" I ask sweetly.
"Villain! Cheater! Damn you!" Seto squirms under my touch. "Stop! Stop! I'll tell! I'll tell!" He shouts.
Ojiisan pokes his head into the room. "What's going on in here?"
"Torture." Yuugi gasps, laughing.
"Niisan's got Niisama!" Mokuba calls.
I give Mokuba an annoyed look. "Innocence." He does his angelic act, flying around the room with his imaginary wings. Ojiisan leaves, shaking his head, an amused smile upon his face as the laughter doubles. I lean in to Seto's face. "I'm waiting."
"Ra, but you are cruel." Seto grumbles. I give his straining cock a warning squeeze. "Ah...." He draws in a quick breath. "It's a holo imager, for that new card game, Magic and Wizards."
I nod approvingly. "So, that's what you've been up to. I see." I hop off his lap. "You're free to go."
"Did he tell you?" Mokuba begs as Seto makes a run for the bathroom.
"Hai." I smirk.
"Spill it, Kaiba." Yuugi grumbles.
"It's a holographic projector for the Magic and Wizards card game." I explain.
"Magic and Wizards?" Jou frowns. "That's an American game."
"Friends in America, remember?" I laugh. "And Pegasus-san is hoping to release it in Japan this month, I think."
"No way! I love that game!" Jou gapes.
I look at Yuugi. "The new shipment's in, isn't it?"
Yuugi nods. "It's down there. Stack on the left. I didn't open them, though!"
I grin. "Deal." Then I sneak down to the basement. The place still creeps me out, but, since Seto and I have worked for Ojiisan so many times over the years, it's not so bad as it was that first time. I see the open box that is a tell-tale sign that Yuugi's been stealing through the new stuff again, and head for it. It's the cards. I pull out a few packs and sneak back upstairs. I can pay Ojiisan back later, no problem.
"How many packs did you take?" Yuugi inquires.
I look at the stuff in my hand quickly. "Five."
"Give me one." Yuugi orders.
I chuckle and toss him a pack, then hand one each to Jou, Mokuba, and Seto. "Don't worry, I'll pay for them, but you can keep them." I reassure Jou when I see the look on his face.
"Just don't go around showing them off." Yuugi begs. "They aren't going on the shelves until next Monday."
"Right. We're only using these to test the prototype." I agree.
Seto nods. "Good thinking. If we can get the holo imaging ready within the month, it'll sell in days."
"But, it's got to be huge!" Mokuba exclaims.
Seto nods again, his gaze turning serious. "It is huge. It's stadium size, but the big companies and gaming stores will want them to attract business. They can set up a dueling arena and have kids pay to play against one another. We'll work on down-sizing the stuff later."
"How small?" I inquire, shuffling through my new cards. I have most of them in English at home, from what all my friends have sent me.
"Something small enough to carry around, but big enough to set your cards on. I don't know yet. We're still working on it." Seto glances down at his cards and gapes. "No way in Ra's kingdom!" He squeals.
"What?" I frown at him, still in my technology mood, trying to think about the business this card game could give us and just how small we can manage the holo projectors, yet still have them show all of even the biggest monsters.
Seto holds up a card and we all gasp, my mind pushing my thoughts to the side. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The rarest card in the game, or so legend says. It's claimed that there would only be one Japanese Blue-Eyes. "Seto, you are one lucky bastard." Yuugi mumbles, shaking his head.
"The only one." I sigh. "Why do I have this sinking feeling that I'm going to be paying a fortune collecting those for you?"
"Aishiteru yo." Seto says sweetly.
"We'll see."
"Who's dying this time?" Ojiisan pokes his head into the room again. Everyone hurries to hide their new cards and smiles innocently. Ojiisan rolls his eyes. "Which cards did you all get?"
"I'll pay you back, I swear." I promise.
Ojiisan chuckles. "No, no. This one's on me. Just, what did you all get?"
"Nothing, really, unless you count the squealing school girl over there." I jerk my thumb at Seto.
"Let's see what's so special." Ojiisan looks at Seto.
Seto turns around his new Blue-Eyes. "Is it true that this is the only Japanese one?" He asks in a small voice.
"So says Pegasus." Ojiisan nods.
"Wow...." Seto goes back to admiring the cards.
"I'm almost jealous." I complain, sitting next to Yuugi. Seto doesn't react so I turn to Yuugi. "How ya feeling?"
"Bouncy!" Yuugi giggles.
I smile. "Don't bounce too much."
"Let's go!" Mokuba calls.
"I want to go home and change, first." I make a face. "I refuse to wear this uniform at the office."
"Me too." Seto agrees.
I glance over at Jou. "How about you, Jou?"
Jou shuffles his feet along the ground, a look swiftly passing over his face that I know all too well. "I'm good."
I trade a look with Seto. Seto doesn't much like Jou, I can tell, but he caught that look too. The one I used to show when Chichiue was still around and seeing him was brought up. ~I need to talk to Jou....~
"What about me?" Yuugi begs.
I give him a calculating look. "If you can walk around the room without any trouble, it's okay with me." I see Ojiisan nod, agreeing to my terms, out of the corner of my eye.
Yuugi sighs and stands up slowly. I note that he is still and favors his left side and pull him back down next to me again, before he can take more than three steps. "Noa! Why'd you do that?!"
I frown at him. "What's wrong with your left side?"
"Nothing!" Yuugi says too quickly.
I cross my arms over my chest and give him a look. "Don't you dare lie to me, Mutou Yuugi." I say warningly.
Yuugi bows his head. "Ushio kicked me there a lot of times...."
"Kisama!" Seto blows up. "I'm going to throttle this yaro as soon as I get a chance!"
I shoot Seto a look. "Cool it." He settles for cursing in various languages. I sigh and hug Yuugi lightly. "You need to stay here if you're hurt that bad."
"I'm not!" Yuugi cries.
"I can carry him." Jou mumbles. "Yuugi, if you really want to go so bad, that is."
I glance at Ojiisan for his okay on this, since he is Yuugi's guardian. "As long as you are all careful....." Ojiisan sighs.
"Of course we'll be!" Jou exclaims. Yuugi nods vigorously. Mokuba's bouncing around the room.
"Noa-san? Seto-kun?" Ojiisan looks at us seriously.
"We'll watch him." I promise. Seto nods in agreement.

A/N: I expected this chapter to be short. It was written out in my notebook, I just had to get up off my lazy ass and type it up. I'm working on Chapter 22 in my notebook, currently. None of the later chapters have names, although, expect them to soon.

About the fic:
You may have noticed that Moku-kun is awful blunt? I don't know why he's doing that. His character is kinda fun to play with, though. The way he's portrayed in the anime, with two different faces, smart and naive, and in the manga, basically a reincarnation of the devil at the beginning, allows for even more room for him. This will, in time, grow into an incestuous relationship with Seto-chan and Noa-chan, as those of you reading my earlier A/Ns should know.
Expect Noa-chan's diary entries at the beginning from now on. They help me focus on the fic, and tend to give background information that I couldn't work into the chapter, or didn't feel like working in. Read them, please.
Jou's being from New York City was an idea I got from a fab fic I read once, but it was a fun AU that had lil or nothing to do with the real or this plot. Still, I like the idea of Jou being American born and knowing English. I was thinking about Jou's life, though, and I realized that the story from the anime wouldn't work right, so I've tweaked it. Check future diary entries for more information. Probably Chapter 21. We'll see.
Magic and Wizards is the name used in the Japanese version of the anime/manga for the card game, which is originally from America. Seto-chan's real life deck contains a Japanese BEWD, a Chinese BEWD, and an English BEWD(I think). Well, he's got his Japanese one. The others are forthcoming. The holographic dueling arenas, I seem to recall, come out almost immediately after the card game becomes a hit, but only for Seto-chan. The system doesn't begin to be really known till Duelist Kingdom. I figure Seto-chan must have had plans for the Duel Disks back when the arena's were being created, so he has them now. Also, Seto-chan seemed to be a collector of the card game, and a good player, before they became big in Japan. I figure he had American `friends' who gave him cards from time to time.
Noa-chan and Seto-chan, due to their maturity rate, could be considered adults in many matters. Ojiisan trusts them With Yuugi-kun's life and safety in school and other such places, so expect them to keep an eye on the boy while they are together. A lot of responsibility, I know, but they are beyond their years, and Moku-kun's FAR more of a handful!!
I'm learning a lot about running gaming/toy stores, since I now work at a toy store. I suppose I'll become more and more detailed as I get in more hours at work. Watch me give a step-by-step explanation of how to run a cash register in one fic because I'm bored. -_-*

REVIEW REPLIES:
Heh.... You think life is bad now? Wait till Christmas season, JM!! *sweatdrop* Well, okay, that's MY problem, but, still.... I'm gonna die over Christmas season. That starts.... Thanksgiving... *sighes* Life is hopeless...
Jack Diamond, yeah, sorry about Jako. *scuffs foot on the floor* I didn't want him to die, but it was essential to the fic. And, yeah, Goza-baka dead, finally. Doesn't mean that all the child abuse in this fic is done, but Goza-baka is... ^_^"
Kitt, I guess that was kinda sudden, but I had writer's block like no tomorrow, so just gave up on trying to further where we were. I'm hoping the diary entries can help explain somethings. And, yeah, we all miss Jako and his gang. Tsuku, Moru, Erito, and Sho will probably make appearances later on in the fic, but Jako and Fradt are done. Oh well.....
