Because…. I don't like Seto. *Shrug* and I have problems writing him

Just because two people are sleeping together doesn't mean they're in love. There is NO Yuumi/Puzzleshipping even if Yami and Yuugi do end up sleeping together. Yami's with Mahaado, and Yuugi's with Seto.

Chapter 4

 

Mahaado closed his eyes as he felt his body healing. He was exhausted. Yami certainly did have more stamina…. Though with the way his Pharaoh was cuddled up to him, he was tired as well.

“Mm…”

“Feeling better now, my Pharaoh?”

“Infinitely.”

“I'm glad I was able to be of service, my Pharaoh.”

Yami smirked. “Is that what you're calling it now, Mahaado.”

“I live to serve, after all…”

“And I love you the more for it.”

Still, what should he do with his light? He hadn't wanted Yuugi to die, simply because, well, watching Yuugi's reaction when he found out that Seto was dead would be fun. Also, his light would serve a valuable symbol and a warning.

If he could punish one who was so close to him as to be his other self, then there was nothing he wouldn't do.

Malice glittered in his ruby eyes.

 

Yuugi was frightened. The monsters that had taken him away had not been… cruel, but… he had an idea of where this was going.

Still, he endured it. He would not shame himself, or the people depending on him, by crying.

Those weak days were behind him, or so he thought.

Besides, Yami had no reason for treating the earth and humanity like this!

 

The Pharaoh did not come see him until the next day. Yuugi did not bother to question why. He was grateful for that small space of time in which to compose himself.

Besides, Yami didn't have the Puzzle…

Was that any help, though?

 

The other Sennen Items were gathered, and Yami's former Council of Priests as well, if the whispers Bakura had given him had been of use.

Yes, the Priests were there to support their Pharaoh.

So perhaps, if the humans took them out first - but who was he kidding? With the power of the Sennen Items behind them, they could take out anyone fast.

That wasn't even counting the Monsters!

Bakura had told him things, before the Ring had been taken… about how back in ancient times; there was a Ka within the hearts of all…

Yuugi had tried, but he'd been unable to summon his.

It was too difficult. Even if what he had was a spirit-beast and not a fiend, he had no will strong enough to call. Seto had managed to call Dios, Set's Ka…. But Yuugi had been able to call nothing.

Did he not have a Ka?

Then again, was he Yami's ka? Did that explain why Yami had no monster in his heart as well? At least, that was what Bakura thought, but while he had Ryou, he also had Diabound…. And Diabound was powerful…

It had taken out many of the lower-level monsters the unseen opponent had sent against Bakura and Ryou, and since he and Seto were hiding out with them, Yuugi as well… but there had been something it could not defeat.

It was odd…because the monster hadn't been one of the Egyptian God cards. It hadn't even been something impressive!

Effect monsters could be terrible. And the irony - it had been Man Eater Bug.

Ryou had been inconsolable for the few days he had lasted… before he wasted away. A hikari without a yami was only half a soul, after all…

It made him wonder why he could live with Yami.

Were they not a real Yami-Hikari pair?

If so, things could become quite difficult.

Then again, maybe Yami suffered no ill effects because Yuugi - he was still alive. Yami had told the monsters not to kill him. And by the flipside of the same coin, Yuugi did not suffer since Yami lived; curse his name.

But Yuugi wasn't sure that if he died, Yami would. Otherwise, he would have given his life in an instant.

The world for him was rather bleak in any case, and if his sacrifice saved humanity, he was kind-hearted enough to be that sacrifice.

Pity.

 

“You look lovely.”

Yami smoothed down his clothing with a shrug. He had changed from his normal loose robes into the familiar leather garb he had worn while with Yuugi. It was a psychological edge he did not mind playing.

“How many pieces of the Puzzle have been found?”

“Only six, my Pharaoh.”

“Well, tis little matter. Weave your illusions for me, my love.”

“As my Pharaoh desires…”

 

Yami smirked as a perfect duplicate of the Sennen Puzzle materialized around his neck. Even he could hardly tell the difference.

Mahaado's illusions were his power, after all…

And no one knew better than Yami himself how powerful they could be. It was such a pity this power had never come into play back in Egypt. But now, Thief King Bakura was no more. They had cursed his soul and the Gods had judged him lacking.

He would not return…

Even reincarnation was iffy at this point.

 

“Do you require any further assistance, my Pharaoh?”

Yami considered. The love potions might work, but might not… and they had unpredictable side effects at times.

Still, it would help.

“Just a mild one.”

Mahaado reached up and procured a bottle of pale blue liquid. “This one ought to do the trick.”

“Do you have the antidote as well?”

“I've fed you the antidotes to everything I've possibly ever brewed, my Pharaoh. You will feel no effects.”

“Excellent…”

“For luck?” Mahaado asked, as he kissed Yami once more. The Shadow Pharaoh smirked and nodded, before he left the room silently.

He applied the potion to his body, smiling inwardly. Contact potions were much more useful than those ingested at times. Yuugi might not want to eat anything he served, but… he would be hard pressed to avoid a touch, and one moment of contact would be all it would take.

He smiled.

 

Yuugi was waiting when he entered, a frown on his face. True, he was aesthetically attractive, but Yami no longer believed in the innocence and purity of his so-called `light side'.

His true soul mate would have stayed with him, even had he danced down the path into madness and death.

He did not bother with words, pulling his startled hikari into a kiss. He felt a shudder, and smiled.

It was working…
