Not Who They Seem To Be, Chapter 8

(Bakura's point of view.)

Ryou's asleep again. He looks so weak lying on the rather large hospital bed with bandaged wrists. He finally told me he loved me, I'm glad Malik and Yugi convinced me to come see him...Who knows what he might have done if I wasn't here?

<I was walking down the street towards the river. Not to commit suicide, but to be alone, away from Yugi's friends who just didn't seem to understand me.

As I walked, I heard footsteps running in my direction; I chose to let them follow me.

"Bakura, wait!" Yugi. It seems he's the only one able to accept who I am. He's the only one who believes I'm not as cold hearted as I make myself out to be. If everyone saw the real me...

"Bakura, please!" Yugi called. I stopped walking and let him catch up. He stood next to me, hands on his knees and panting from running.

"Are you alright, Yugi?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled reassuringly, still panting. He really was innocent.

"Where are you going, Bakura?" He asked.

"I need time to think." I said. Yugi stood up straight, finally catching his breath. We stood there in silence, neither really knowing what to say. Then Malik's Yami ran up to us.

"Bakura, why aren't you with Ryou?" The first thing he says. I guess he always was straight to the point.

"I'm not wanted." I said simply. I continued walking.

"Bakura, Ryou is the one that matters." Yugi said. I was slightly stunned that he would take my side, but I didn't show it. Malik's Yami continued, they were both still following me only a few paces behind.

"Bakura, they have no right to keep you from Ryou. If they say they don't want you to hurt him, then ignore them and prove you won't. I'm sure Ryou doesn't enjoy it when you're being kept apart. Who cares what the others say? Ryou needs you, now." He said. I stopped walking again. They were right, Ryou did need me. Screw the others; I needed to see Ryou immediately.

I turned around and took off in a run back to see Ryou. When I reached there, Yugi's friends tried to block my path, but I pushed through them and sped down the hallways. I needed to find Ryou. I vaguely remembered hearing Joey say 214 so I headed there.

I was in luck, Ryou was just waking up. Unfortunately, he was waking up with thoughts that didn't belong in his sweet mind.

Thoughts of suicide.>

I sighed as I watched Ryou sleep, seemingly peaceful for now. I wondered if it really was the dream that caused him to do what he did, he had been having it a lot recently and it was only a matter of time before he tried something like this.

Just then, Yugi burst into the room. He was terribly distraught and I worried that something else may have happened.

"What is it, Yugi?" I asked. Yugi gasped, trying to catch his breath so he could speak.

"Yami...He...Needs our help." Yugi panted. My eyes narrowed and I turned away from him.

"Then go, I'm staying with Ryou." I said.

"But-"

"Go!" I yelled. Whether Yami really did hurt Ryou intentionally, I didn't care. I was not going to help him, not now. Besides, I needed to watch over Ryou. If he woke up and I wasn't here, who knows what could happen? "I need to look after Ryou." I said. My voice was softer this time; I didn't want to scare Yugi.

"Oh...I guess you're right...It might not be a good idea anyway, what with the others being there." Yugi said. He smiled, that cute and innocent smile he always has then turned to head out the door. "We'll call if we need you." Yugi threw me a phone and I nodded my understanding before he hurried out the door. I turned back and watched Ryou's breathing. Deep and even. I was really angry at Yami...But...

Still I hoped he would be alright.

(Normal point of view.)

Yugi and the others quickly headed to Seto's home, all hoping they would get there on time. Seto was frantic on the phone, only saying that they had to get there immediately. There were only the six of them now and they hoped it would be enough. Because, what do you do to beat evil inside a Yami?

"Do you think we'll get there on time?" Yugi asked. Joey looked at him and smiled.

"Of course we will, Yugi. Just think positive." Then he turned and focused on the road ahead of them. Only a little farther to Seto's.

Seconds later they arrived at Seto's doorstep. They burst in without knocking, knowing it would only waste time. They ran up the stairs, following the crashes of things being thrown.

"I said, stay back!" They heard a yell. It wasn't a normal voice, it sounded like Yami mixed with two other voices. One was really deep and loud, vibrating the house; the other sounded like...Téa? The group of six hurried to Seto's bedroom where they saw Yami grasping his head in pain and simultaneously throwing things at Seto if he got too close.

"Yami!" Yugi cried. He and the others ran into the room. Startled, Yami quit throwing things to look at the group that had just entered.

"Y, Yugi?" It was a calmer tone, most definitely part of Yami, yet still mixed with the other two voices, but at least they were somewhat quieter. Yami looked at him for a few seconds then collapsed on the floor, gripping his hair tightly, practically ripping it out.

"Yami, what is it? What's hurting you?" Yugi asked frantically.

"T...é...a..." Yami whispered before he fell unconscious.

"Yami!" Seto cried. He ran to Yami's side and cuddled him against his chest. "Yugi, please go check on Téa, please find out how she's hurting Yami!" Seto pleaded. Yugi nodded and ran to the phone.

"I'm calling Bakura." Yugi said. He quickly called Bakura and told him to check on Téa.

About ten minutes after the conversation ended, there was a call back from Bakura. He told Yugi he was going inside Téa's mind to find out how she was doing it. Yugi and the others pleaded with him not to do it, but in the end, Bakura just hung up.

Yugi stared at the phone, speechless. He had put it on speaker phone so everyone could hear. Now they were all just listening to the dial tone.

"Bakura...He could be killed!" Yugi said.

A/N - Well...this chapter is shit, sorry, if you want I can re write it...my idea is stupid but I dunno, maybe some people like it, I doubt it though.
