Not Who They Used To Be, Chapter 6
Yami dragged himself down the road, he was tired and having trouble walking, then there was the pain. The pain that had yet to go away and it was causing him valuable time.
As he walked down the road, a car pulled up next to him, it was Joey.
"Yami, you need a ride?" He asked as he rolled down the driver's window. Yami nodded and hurried into the passenger's side.
"I need to get to Yugi's, something bad has happened." Yami said. Without question, Joey sped down to Yugi's and when they got there, he helped Yami out of the car and hurried into the house, Yami behind him.
Seto growled when he heard the front door again.
"Great, more visitors." He placed Ryou's re-dressed body in a corner near Bakura and went to check out the disturbance. He didn't bother tying up Ryou because the poor boy was too lost to know what was going on anyway.
When Joey raced up the stairs, Seto rolled his eyes and knocked him out as well. It was really tiring having all these people try to stop him; he could knock them out too easily.
He dragged Joey's body into the room and tied him up; good thing Yami had kept a lot of rope.
As he was kneeling in front of an unconscious Yugi and petting his hair, getting closer and closer to him, he heard another voice from behind him.
"Seto, stop!" Yami cried. Seto grinned and turned to face his lover.
"I've been waiting for you, love. It was beginning to get crowded in here." He smirked and approached Yami, pinning him against a wall. "I've missed you." He moved one of his hands to caress Yami's side. Yami couldn't resist the touch, it was gentle and he wanted as much of it as possible.
While Seto's back was turned and he was distracted with Yami, Bakura awoke. His hands were tied but Seto had tied them in front of him so his movement wasn't as limited as it could be. Then he noticed Ryou sitting next to him and the blank look on his face. Since they shared a special bond, it didn't take long for Bakura to figure out what happened. He stood up and snuck up behind Seto, he didn't care what he was doing all he wanted to do was kill him for hurting Ryou. He raised his arms and made a fist with both hands, slamming them into the side of Seto's head; knocking him unconscious and he fell to the floor. Yami looked at him in surprise but did nothing.
"Untie my hands, Yami." Bakura said, trying to control his rage. Yami did as he was told and once his hands were free, Bakura knelt next to Seto.
"Make sure he doesn't wake up." He growled, and then his body fell on top of Seto's as he entered his mind.
(Bakura's POV)
Seto's mind was much the same as Téa's had been; it was blank - empty. I took a look around and realized that there was almost no trace of the former Seto Kaiba. It nearly hurt, but considering recent events involving Ryou, I chose to forget them.
I began to walk, looking for that bastard spirit. I found him in a room of Seto's mind, a small office like room. It was the only place in his head that actually had something in it other than darkness.
The spirit is much like you'd think one would look like. He was like a clouded form of some kind, but very solid and not at all transparent. I looked around the room and saw Seto in what looked like a jail cell in the side of the room. The room was actually fairly small and the spirit was looking at me angrily from behind a desk piled up with papers - why he needed them I had no idea.
"What are you doing here?" He asked me, his eyes narrowing. I glared back at him and then took another glance at Seto; now that I knew a spirit was definitely behind this and it wasn't just an excuse, I felt a small amount of pity for Seto. The pity soon turned to worry as I studied him; his body seemed to be fading in and out like bad TV reception whereas the spirit was getting darker and more opaque. I turned back to the form behind the desk.
"I'm here to kill you for what you did to Ryou!" I shouted angrily. I think I may have shocked him because his eyes widened a little.
"You're not him? You look almost exactly alike, I should have seen it." I smirked, the moron didn't even know that Ryou and I were two different beings; probably didn't even know Ryou had another half.
"Yugi and Yami aren't the only ones that look alike." I said. I took a step closer and I seemed to be worrying this so-called powerful apparition. "And now you will pay for what you have done to him on more than one occasion! No one hurts my Ryou!" I charged at him and knocked him off his chair, the element of surprise coming in very handy at that moment. But for some odd reason, he was a weakling; I had him beaten very quickly.
"Why are you so damn weak?" I asked. He didn't respond and I became more furious. I took out my knife that I always have with me and stabbed him. I stabbed him until his black blood was splattered all over my clothes, my skin and my hair. I didn't care anymore; the bastard was dead-finally. I stood, my adrenaline rushing from the excitement of finally killing him; and so easily. I walked over to where Seto was imprisoned and opened the bars using a key that was hanging on a hook. To my relief, Seto wasn't fading out anymore, but he was still a little spacey. The only other problem was what to do with him now. I couldn't take him out with me because I was inside his mind and it would kill him.
I took him out of his cell and led him to his desk, I sat him down and he almost immediately came back. I held back a laugh, even in the realm of his mind, work was still the first thing on his mind.
Not wanting to see what odd things he did manage to create in his mind, I quickly exited his mind; he would wake soon and I didn't want to be trapped inside.
(Normal POV)
Slowly, Bakura's eyes opened and he looked around. He met Yami's worried and hopeful eyes but said nothing and looked around at the rest of the room. Everyone was unconscious except Ryou, who might as well have been because his mind was so damaged that he didn't know what was going on anyway. Bakura stood, a little shaky at first but gained his balance and began walking around the room untying everyone and sitting them in more comfortable positions. Now that Ryou was so dreadfully hurt, there was no one awake to show the kindness that he usually would; it was the least that Bakura felt he could do.
Once everyone was free and somewhat comfortable, he went back to Yami and grabbed his jacket, folding it up like a pillow and placing it under Seto's head.
"He should be fine, make sure everyone knows that so they don't hurt him." Bakura said very quietly. He stood and walked over to Ryou and lifted him. His heart felt like it broke in two when he felt Ryou start trembling at his touch. Holding back his tears, he exited the room and walked home with Ryou in his arms.
Once they returned home, Bakura set Ryou down on his bed.
"No...go away...please don't hurt me..." Ryou mumbled. He continued to say it over and over until Bakura took him off the bed and instead took him down and placed him on the large couch. He took some pillows and blankets and tried to make Ryou as comfortable as possible, forgetting about his own comfort. When he had finished with all the blankets, he sat down on the floor next to the couch and watched him, occasionally stroking his hair from his face. Eventually Ryou fell asleep while Bakura just sat and watched.
A/N - I'll try and make this better, but I just want to finish this...sorry. Please r/r
