Summary: ob ses sion Noun: 1. Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety. 2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion. That's what the dictionary in front of him said it was. That's what you would call something like this right? An obsession? Maybe not his but he was up to his headband in it anyway...
Written in response to the second Kiss Me or Kill Me challenge at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Millennium_Kingdom. Just give the story a chance? Very odd group of people I ended up picking, very squicky but I did it anyway!
Emerald eyes looked up in terror at the man above him. Even tied as he was, he struggled to get away from the man afraid for the first time in his life that this would be the end. It wasn't supposed to be this way; if he was going to die shouldn't he be with the one he loved? He screamed again as his body bore the assault from the other man. It only seemed to encourage him, as he laughed at the cries while increasing the force of his thrusts into the teen. The man reached up grabbing the collar around the boy's throat constricting his breathing further than he thought possible. As he surrendered to the darkness that surrounded him one thought crossed his mind, why…

Six months prior…
The old man pulled him aside as the others left the game shop, telling them he needed to speak to the Dice Master alone for a moment. As Yugi and gang stepped out to wait on him, Otogi leaned up against the counter in the shop wondering what the man could want. It wasn't as if they shared anything in common. Well that is except the obvious, interest in games but still, that hardly called for them to speak away from the others. His curiosity was immensely peeked to say the least.
He watched in silence as Yugi's grandfather finished his task of closing the game shop, pulling down blinds to cover the windows, letting anyone who passed know it was closed for the night. The old man worked quickly and quietly not saying a word to the boy, looking as if he forgot Otogi was even there. When done, he turned looking at the boy with strange interest.
He walked over to the counter to stand next to the dark haired boy. "I've watched you for sometime now young man. You are undisciplined, brash, stubborn and in need of a strong hand applied to your backside." The boy raised an eyebrow at the statements, not denying them; instead, a smile appeared upon his face in acquiescence. It took a lot not the laugh in the man's face. If the old fool thinks any of that is news he doesn't know me very well, the boy thought as he brought a hand up to play with the dice of his ear ring.
"On your knees," he spoke the words firmly, commanding without room for refusal and without raising his voice.
It took a moment before he realized he had obeyed without question, his body reacting without thought to the tone. He looked up at the older man puzzled over what had come over him, why did his whole body feel as if it were controlled by the other.
"A little hesitant, but not bad, next time I expect you to move faster when I tell you to do something." The old man leaned closer to the boy, placing a hand under his chin to bring his head up further. Looking into the emerald pools of light the boy called eyes, he continued. "You will be here tomorrow night at closing. Come to the back door do not knock. You will wait for me to let you in. Do not tell Yugi or anyone else of this 'meeting' of ours. Be on time and you will be rewarded; if you are late…" he didn't finish the thought aloud but the boy understood the words left unspoken. "Go now, Yugi and your friends are waiting for you, but do not forget what I've said."
He got up off the floor, moving quickly this time afraid the old man would be irate at him again for any hesitation. Backing away from the man, towards the door, Otogi bowed his head slightly at him before opening the door and stepping out into the night air. As he shut the door behind him, he let out the breath he hadn't even realized he had been holding. His body shivered, even though it was not a cold night, as the cooler air blew over his heated skin. Taking a deep breath he stepped away from the doorway then started walking across the street to where his friends where waiting.
He found it impossible to keep his mind occupied during the hours between his exit from the game shop and his next visit. As he waited behind the building that served as home to the shop as well as his friend, his mind went back to the night before, trying to recall just what happened. The green-eyed boy still could not believe the way Yugi's grandfather spoke to him, the way the words worked on his body. "I could have refused, not shown up." Even saying it aloud, he knew it was a lie. There was no doubt in either of their minds the night before that he would be here, as commanded. He couldn't do anything else, and so he waited.
Time dragged on slowly and yet he waited. He knew it was late, the sky turned a near black earlier and yet he waited. Just as he started drifting asleep, the clouds that had threatened for what seemed like hours broke open, rain pouring down over him and he still waited.
The boy was drenched, clothing hanging upon his body heavy with the weight of rain it had absorbed, before the door finally opened allowing him escape from the eternity it seemed he had waited. He entered without a word, unable to say much in his current state shivering from the cold that reached through to his bones. Water dripped off his entire body as he stood in the middle of the room watching it pool at his feet.
"Why did you come here tonight?" The question caught him off guard, after all the old man told him to come. He looked up from the puddle that had held his interest for so long, to tell him this. "You didn't have to you know. You could have refused. So why are you here?"
The puddle suddenly seemed fascinating once again while he paused before answering. "Because you were right. We both know it. I wanted to see what you would do about it." The old man didn't seem to have anything to reply to this, unless his silence could be taken for an answer. Otogi looked up from his feet and noticed he was alone in the room. It wasn't for long though as Yugi's grandfather returned carrying a couple of towels.
"You need to get out of those wet clothes before you get sick. Take them off." Again, the tone seeped into him, past conscious thought and he reacted. Only half-aware of the eyes watching his every move, he started undressing trying to ignore the growing knot that sat within his stomach. His vest and shirt fell to the floor, his eyes followed them staring down again, before his hand moved to unfasten the button that held his jeans closed. Kicking off his shoes, he wedged his fingers between the tight wet denim and his cold skin. It took a bit of work until he was able to remove them, dragging underwear and socks off as well in the process. When done he glared at the man who stood looking at him, his arms held tightly at his sides, refusing to cower or attempt to cover himself although his face felt hot enough to melt ice.
"Leave them, follow me." The old man walked out of the room without another word. What else could he do but follow the man into another section of the house?
The temperature of the house finally caught up to him; now that his body was devoid of clothing, he found himself unable to stop the shivering that had overcome him. Well he figured it was that. That or the fact that he was walking around his friend's house with nothing on but his headband...How many times had he walked through this house before tonight? He found it amazing he missed so many details before; strange to think what walking around naked could do to your mind, enhancing the senses in so many ways it seemed. They ended up at a bathroom where the tub sat filled with warm water.
"I'll be right back, get in and warm up in the meantime." Left with his thoughts again, it seemed. Otogi carefully slid into the water feeling his body immediately relax as it soaked up the warmth. He pulled off the headband and elastic that held his hair back before sliding down further to dip his head under the surface. He lay there for as long as he could before the need of fresh oxygen overcame him. Sitting up he noticed he wasn't alone, the old man had returned. That didn't stop him from nearly jumping out of the bath when the other opened a bottle of shampoo and started washing his hair.
It was the oddest feeling, someone else's hands in his hair like that...it was nice. He closed his eyes for a moment, forgetting everything and just went with what was happening right then. A slight tap on his shoulder brought his eyes open again, "Rinse." This time he didn't stay down long, just enough to clean his hair of any soap traces before sitting up. A hand went to the drain, releasing the water reaching to him offering help out of the bath. Getting out of the tub wasn't a problem but he was still standing in a room naked and wet. At least he was cold. The old man wrapped a towel around him then pushed him out of the room towards another. To say the least he was surprised when the old man pushed him down upon the bed but then left him.
Otogi pulled a towel up to dry his hair when he came back. Surprise continued when a comb went through his hair, slowly working out the snares that formed. "Tell me again why you are here."
"Because you were right last night. I'm undisciplined, brash, stubborn and..." his voice trailed off, uncertain if he could or even should finish the thought.
"And in need of a strong hand applied to your backside?" He softly laughed at this. "It would take awhile before it comes to that I do believe, if that's what you truly want. Is that what you want little dragon?"
He found himself looking into a mirror on the wall, staring into his own green eyes. Somewhere in there, there had to be a spark of light of answer. The reflection gazed back at him blankly; he already knew the answer... "Yes."
