Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Opposite of What You Expected ❯ Chapter 1
I'm starting another story. I was reading on fanfiction.net, and came up with the idea from thefutureMrs.Kaiba's story H E A D G A M E S. I liked her interpretation of Kaiba as a bad-ass who always got what they wanted. So...I couldn't get this out of my head, and I wanted something that was slightly different, with rich bitches arguing, so here you go...
Disclaimer: I don't own Yugioh, this isn't a virtual reality. You should know by now that it's impossible.

Everythi ng. I hate him, I hate my father, I hate my life. I hate that I wear that facade constantly. I hate that Yugi knows everything, and tells Yami. I hate it all. It all started yesterday. And I doubt that it will end anytime soon. It's a chain of events. Sure, some of it happened before yesterday, but that was the final straw. You want to see how my life is? Here you go.
Flashback~The day before, after school.
I was walking home, same as always. The guys were busy, so it was just me. I was fine with that, no crazed lunatics were out hungry for revenge. Or so I thought.
"Gardner." I loathe that voice. But, I put on that happy smile, and turned to face him.
"Yes Kaiba?" I responded, waiting for him to catch up. He too was walking. Most likely to Kaiba Corp. The rich bastard catches up to me, looking me in the eye.
"Where's the loser squad?"
"They're busy." While trying to maintain my cool, I added, "Please don't call them that."
A smirk took over his face, and his eyes glimmered dangerously.
"What do you want, Kaiba?" My patience was growing thinner and thinner. My dad was going to be home when I got there, and I couldn't afford to be late.
"I want you to stop talking to them."
"Who?" I was slightly amused, I had a slight idea of what he was talking about.
"The geek patrol."
"No." I began to walk away, but he followed me."You aren't the boss of me, Seto Kaiba. We already determined that. Why do you want that to happen, anyway? Revenge?"
"Maybe, maybe not."
"I won't do it." He was really starting to piss me off. What kind of nerve he had, telling me what to do!
"Then your life will be a living hell." I was about to respond, when I remembered my facade, and just gave him a small, weak glare to match.
"You wouldn't." I had to force some amount of fright into my voice, to pull off the act.
"You don't know me that well."
"I guess not. But then again, how could anyone? You're so distant."
"Things are that way for a reason." A pause. "Are you going to do it?"
"No."
"Then don't bother with coming to dance anymore."
I nodded, pretending to be upset. He turned and walked the other way. I walked again toward my home. I was fifteen minutes late. Suddenly, I heard him yell my name.
"I know where you live."
I tilted my head back and laughed.
***
My dad wasn't happy when I came in.
"Where the fuck were you?"
"I had to walk home." I answered slightly annoyed, knowing that something was coming. He sat at his laptop.
"Don't get cocky with me."
"I'm not." My hands fell to my hips. He stood up and pushed me into a wall, his grip tight on both shoulders.
"You have fifteen minutes to get ready to go to this party. I'll be waiting in the limo." He hissed in my face, spitting. I waited for him to let go, meeting his enraged glare. This was the norm, he'd scream at me constantly because I wasn't perfect. I wrote every program for his beloved company. But that wasn't enough for him.
I came down, ten minutes later, my hair falling loosely from my face. I wore gray eye shadow, and my lips had an apricot lip gloss on them. I wore a black tank, which looked like a tube top, but it had two strings that came from the middle of the neck and tied behind the neck. Then I wore low rise jeans that allowed part of my midriff to show, nothing too slutty. Finally, I put on black high heeled boots, and pulled the jeans over the top. Then I came downstairs, grabbing my backpack and throwing it in the limo with me.
"You're auctually on time." He said it like it was unusual. God, I can never please this guy.
"So, where's this freaking party that we have to go to?"
"On the south side. A nightclub."
"As always."
I really hated this before. I never knew that when I came back, my life would be worse.

End Flashback

Seto Kaiba's mouth curved into a wicked smile. He knew Gardner's address. He'd destroyed her dream of dancing with a single phone call, and now, he would carry out his threat to the house. He wanted revenge on Yugi Motou and his chronies. And he'd start with the weakest link.

I never did get any sleep last night. That party went through the complete night, and my father was drunk before midnight. I simply stayed out of the way, trying to ignore the yelling long enough to finish the homework that was assigned. Then I waited for six am to roll around, got into the limo, my father sleeping off the intoxication next to me. He smelled like beer, and I didn't want to. I was going to go take a shower and get into my dorky uniform. I did have a midterm today.
When I opened the door, the driver helping my father, everything was good. I ran up to my room, and two words escaped my mouth. "Holy shit!" It was fucking trashed. My clothes were everywhere, except my underwear that were in my drawer. It was just pulled out. I quickly looked around for any trace of a clue as to who did it. I didn't need to, I already knew, but still. I'd like proof. Every poster on my wall, of dancers and singers alike were torn off. Everything in my closed was strewn across the room. There's nothing to do about it for now. I'd have to get dressed and showered as quickly as possible. So I dug through everything to find my uniforms. I did, but they were all torn, right down the center.
He thought I'd be afraid to break the dress code.
Hell no.
I grabbed an outfit exactally like the one I wore the night before off my floor, and entered my bathroom. At least he didn't touch anything in there. God, Seto Kaiba will pay. I had my most valuable item of clothing in there. Well, I guess I was wrong.
The pervert took my diamond studded g-string.
I washed myself and my hair quickly, and exited the shower. I got dressed, waiting for the mirror to unfog(I don't think it's a word but work with me). I began to brush my hair while waiting. It had grown longer since all that shit had ended with Ancient Egypt. I still had bangs, but the rest of my hair fell to my shoulder. I finished drying and brushing it, and turned around.
I wanted to scream.
My hair was black.
Punk rock black.
He just made my day.
"Seto Kaiba, I'm going to kill you." I was going to put on makeup today. Dark gray eyeliner and a rosey colored lip gloss. As far as I was concerned, I was going to end up suspended. And at the moment, I was about on the edge. I don't care anymore. I descended down the hallway, to the stairs. Then I saw that mark on the wall. It was red lipstick.
" What did I tell you?" I read aloud. Great. I knew I was right. Quickly, I set the few maids who were up at this hour to fixing whatever they could. I liked them. All of them were so nice. Plus I promised them an extra day off and a two dollar raise. My father never checked the wages, he was so rich he didn't care. So I ran as fast as I could to school. I was late and so focused that I didn't notice the two holes in the wall.

Tea walked into the school, five minutes before her first class. Lucky for her, she wasn't auctually "late." She didn't look like she'd been up all night, so she was glad for that too. She grabbed her books and ran up to the guys. They stopped and looked at her.
"Holy shit, aya a new chick?" Joey Wheeler asked.
"Joey," She hissed through her teeth, "it's me, Tea."
"Tea, you..what happened?" Tristan asked. Yugi looked on with a slightly worried expression.
"I had run in with Kaiba yesterday and--"
"Hey Tea, nice outfit." A kid complemented, passing by. "Kaiba said that you'd never be able to pull it off."
"Ya mean that Kaiba's responsible for all of dis?" Joey asked.
"Yeah." Yugi instantaniously changed into Yami. "Guys, don't worry, I'll take care of it." She licked her lips. Yami smiled. He figured Tea'd stand up for herself. "He won't know what hit him. Literally."
*************************
She entered her first period class. Study hall. With Mr. Kalamarski. He asked that she removed her makeup. She did, without any disrespect. Kaiba came in late, chuckling. He took the late slip from Mr. K, and went to his seat at the back of the classroom. He snickered at Tea's punk rock hairstyle and passed her. He never expected retailiation.
Lucky for him, he was able to keep himself off the ground. Seto Kaiba did not trip. So, he faced the offender.
"Gardner, it looks like you're having an off day as is. Don't test me."
"I'm not afraid of you."
"Mr. Kaiba, take your seat please." He gave the teacher a glare telling him to back off.
"Repeat that Gardner, I dare you."
"I am not, and never will be afraid of you." Joey and Tristan began cheering. "And," Tea reached into the pocket of his trenchcoat, where a tad bit of while sparkle stuck out.
"Gardner, what in the bloody hell are you doing?"
"Taking back my property." Everyone in the class started with an 'ooooooh.' Tea continued, pulling out the g-string. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here." She fingered it lazily. "Care to take a step outside, Kaiba-boi?"
"Don't. You. Ever. Do. That. Again." Anger burned through every vein in his body.
"I'll do what I please." A chorus of 'serves him right','look who's got the upper hand', and 'ohhh man's rang through out the class. She looked up into his angry eyes. "Do you want to cause even more of a scene or shall we go outside?"
"..." Tea got up from her seat. She went to the front of the class.
"Mr. K. I ipologize--"
"Just leave. Go. Both of you." Kaiba followed followed a calm Tea out of the room. They shut the door behind themselves. Every face went to the door or windows that allowed a view of the hallway where the two feuding teens were.
"What in God's name do you think you're doing?"
"You trashed my house." She paused. "I'm going to be dead by the time the sun sets, so I don't care. Besides, I never said that I don't believe in payback."
"Did that dye seep into your head?"
"What? Are you surprised that I'm a little different under the facade?"
"Who would've thought?"
"You didn't think."
" Are you questioning my intelect?"
"Maybe." He gave her a slight shove, with more power than she expected. "Don't pick a physical fight with me. I guarantee that you won't win."
"Oh really?" He cocked an eyebrow at that remark. "I don't fight girls. Besides, we all know that you have no idea how to fight."
Kaiba never saw that punch coming.
"Kaiba-boi, I don't fight. I box."
