Pharaoh Yami's POV

How could a measly little slave dare to talk to me like this. I am the Pharaoh Yami, Son of Ra, Ruler of Egypt, to be feared by everyone. That includes measly slaves. I stood impassively in the chariot staring at the slave. The only way that I could make sure that this slave does not bother me anymore is death. I watched with slight amusement as the guard whipped the pathetic boy, than grabbed the small slave and held him up, waiting for my command as to what to do with this pathetic slave.

" Bring him tonight to the executing grounds." I stated ruthlessly. The guard nodded at my request than bowed and dropped the boy. I saw his eyes begin to water up; they somehow made the slave look so innocent.

I watched intently as another execution began to take place. I had my high priestess, Ista at my left and my high priest, Set at my right. The executioners brought out the first person. It was a thief, I despised thieves, and I wanted to make sure that my kingdom of Egypt was empty of the pitiful things. He was killed instantly by a priest chanting a killing spell that I learned on accident, next was coming the pathetic slave.

" STOP." I stared at my high priestess, the executioners stopped and looked at the priestess. Waiting for the rest of her demands, they seemed stricken that she would request that.

Ista's POV

I shouted," STOP," As I slammed my golden staff hard onto the ground. The Pharaoh stared at me. I looked at the small tri haired boy who seemed to resemble the pharaoh closely. I am sure that this is the child that will help the pharaoh, the right kind pharaoh that she had taught how to kill six of his guards in one night with out lifting a finger or telling them to kill each other.

I smiled at the memory. The night when the Prince Yami decided to help a priestess in training, which resulted in very horrible punishment for me. That night I was working on a spell of killing people, the Prince Yami decided to drop in at that moment. He had heard me murmur something; I was making sure that I did not say any names or descriptions after I chanted the spell, trying to lock it in memory. He supposedly said it in his sleep and than spoke of his six guards outside his door. Which were immediately killed, by the sleeping prince, who was confused to find his room unguarded in the morning.

I snapped back to reality and shouted," Put the prisoner in the cells." I watched as they nodded at my order and began to drag the young slave to the cells. I looked back at the pharaoh who was glaring at me.

" He could be of some use to the temple." I told him reluctantly. I was not supposed to do this to the pharaoh. I just hope that the slave could fulfill the prophecies. If he could not to bring back the pharaoh into the light than by Ra help me to find and explanation for the pharaoh of why I had to save a young slave than probably sacrifice him.

I watched the rest of the executions in silence as the new execution priest had finished the last one. I stared at the pharaoh as he left with a smirk on his face, which showed how evil he really had become after he had seen his own mother killed before his own eyes. I began to leave after the pharaoh was out of the room. Set was right next to me.

" Why did you command the guards to stop from killing the pathetic slave?" He spat the last word out.

" The " Slave" is probably "He Who Comes With the Dawn," coming to bring out the pharaoh's good side. I am sure that you remember the prophecies." I replied.

" He comes with the twilight. Breaking the song. A resemblance strong. The deity of Innocence. Marked two times to show him. Once the. darkness to show who he is to beat. Twice the Innocence to show what he will bring back." He stopped chanting the prophecy." Everyone knows the prophecy, and know one expects it to happen."

" I know the prophecy, just what if it is him." I told him. He seemed not convinced still.

" Because what darkness is he supposed to beat. The prophecies never explained it." He stated as he walked away. I stormed down to the temple's cells. It was where we often kept our sacrifices to the goods. I walked to the cell that held what I believed was the "He Who Comes With the Dawn".

Yugi's POV

I stared up as a woman entered my cell. She was the woman who yelled for the guards not to drag me up to that place where they killed people. She studied me for a bit than motioned with her hand that I stand up and follow her. She led me through many corridors and halls. I saw many women bow down to her as she walked by, many of the women bowing looked at me in disgust. I walked on behind the lady in silence; I bumped into her when we reached a tall door. I guessed that this were her chambers. My guess was conformed when she lead me into the room which was adorned with a bed, a door leading off to what I guessed was a bathroom, a small coffee table looking thing, a chest, and a wardrobe.

She walked over to a small little chest that I had noticed and opened the medium sized chest and began to rummage through it. She brought up a few small vials, walked over to the table and sat down, and motioned me to come over there. I came reluctantly to her side where she sat.

She sighed and motioned me to sit down. I did so and saw amusement in her face change to horror when she saw my back. I now did not want to know how bad they were. I felt her begin to smear some of the stuff on my back, I winced when some of the stuff began to sting but relaxed when I felt it dull away a few seconds later. I felt her breath on my back a few seconds later, probably trying to dry some of the stuff on my back quicker. I felt her tap my shoulder; I turned my head around a saw a small linen sheet on the ground with a pillow beside it. My bed. I nodded as I acknowledged what she meant; she smiled baring all her teeth. I cringed when I noticed that she had tow teeth that resembled a vampire's teeth. She noticed the cringing and stopped smiling, as I stood up and walked over to the make bed. I noticed that there were two linen sheets. So, I slid in between the two of them and propped my head onto the pillow and closed my lazily.

I opened my eyes lazily and stared at the alarm clock that blared.

" Aibou please turn that blaring alarm clock off." My Yami screamed. I walked over to where the alarm lay and unplugged the stupid thing. I stared at my Yami who was sprawled on the floor, holding his head as if he had a headache. I ran over to my Yami, I tripped over my backpack. Yami noticed this and placed his arms out in front of him to catch me. I caught me than were knocked over himself. We landed in a heap on the floor. I chocked back laughter as I looked at my Yami who was gonna kill me in my dream with out even knowing it was me.

I got up off Yami; I looked at his face and saw a smile. I sat down next to him. I turned around when I felt his hand on my back, than I winced when I felt a jolt of pain shot through me. It was not a dream; I realize that as another jolt of pain shot through me.

/ Yami stop that. / I yelled at my Yami through the mind link.

I felt someone shaking my shoulders. I looked up into the face of the woman who had put the salve stuff on me last night. She looked concerned. She let go of my shoulders and tugged at my arms to pull me over to her bed.

" I can talk you know." I said annoyed that she believed that I could not talk. She appeared relieved.

" That is good, at least I won't have to explain to the pharaoh why his savor is mute. Now come over here, you need to put on more appropriate clothes if you are going to be my assistant." She said as she held up a white linen kilt. I looked at the white linen pants that I wore and wished for a pair of leather or something like that other than this white linen stuff.

" Okay put those on, than I will be right back to put some of the stuff on your back again. In addition, I need to find you some appropriate jewelry for you." She said as she walked to the wardrobe. I undid the small rope that held the pants up; I pulled up the medium sized kilt that reached to my knees. I tied the buckled up the silver belt, and stared at the kilt, I noticed that it had a thick sliver lining.

" Hello, assistant, what is your name? Because the pharaoh will ask me that, not you. So I should know ahead of time." She asked kindly.

" My name is Yuma." I lied. Where did I get that name.

" Okay, Yuma. Please put these on." I stared at the plain silver necklace that had an amethyst teardrop hanging down at the center of it. I plucked it from her fingers and placed it around my neck. She began to laugh; she took the necklace form my neck and placed it on my forehead. I looked at her for head and noticed a larger version of the tiara around her forehead. Instead of silver, gold was encrusted with a few diamonds as well. I studied her and noticed that she wore a white dress that stopped at the shoulders, than flared for the sleeves, was lined with gold. Than I noticed that, it was not a dress at all since it was cut off right above her stomach. It than became a skirt that was held up by a golden belt encrusted with jewels right below her stomach. I noticed a similar outfit on me except it was more a kilt thingy instead a skirt with a shirt. It had a silver lining that was rather thicker than her golden lining. I noticed a silver belt encrusted with jewels holding up the kilt.

" Come on we need to leave to see the pharaoh before he decides to leave for his daily meeting with his advisors." She said as she plucked her staff from its stand. I followed behind her. She was telling me what to do when we got there. Not noticing the way the priestess stared at me when they bowed. We went down the same corridors and halls that we went down last night. Than we went down a few more halls and corridors that were extravagantly decorated. We stopped in front of a large door; it was being guarded by at least ten guards. I bowed as expected, as one of the guards pushed the door open wide enough for both of us to enter.

" Pharaoh Yami, I request to speak to you." I heard her say. She began to bow on to one knee. I bowed and went down on my knees.

" Rise, Priestess Ista. You may speak freely." He stated.

Yami's POV

I noticed the young pathetic slave was now her assistant. He looked even more innocent in the clothes of the head's priestess assistant. The amethyst on his forehead matched his eyes perfectly.

" Pharaoh Yami. I request that you take my assistant as your servant." She made her point clear.
