Physically Abused
Chapter 1: Serendipity
By: petite_angel
I had just gotten back from Yugi's house and went into the kitchen to grab something to eat. Man, was I hungry! I hadn't eaten anything for the whole day. I don't know why, but I haven't been feeling that good lately. Maybe Bakura's thrashings are starting to get to me.
As I ate a red delicious apple peacefully, horrid thoughts from the night before drifted into my head. Bakura had beaten me once again. I don't know why I'm letting this pester me so much. I usually don't let it bother me, but something about that night changed everything.
~~Flashback~~
"You useless weakling!" screamed my Yami as he threw me up against the wall. "You're good for nothing!"
I slid down the wall and landed on my back. I could feel warmth coming from the back of my head and I reached back to touch it. I winced as I touched the gash, and recoiled quickly. I dizzily looked at my hand and it was covered in blood, my blood. I then, went into a shock. Bakura had never went this far before. Sure, he had gave me a life's worth of bruises and some small scrapes, but this was the first time he made me bleed like this.
I could feel Bakura's agonizing gaze while I still remained on the floor. It pierced through me, killing off my courage, and my very soul. I looked back at him, returning his glare. Bakura just smirked and slapped me across my already bruised face.
"How dare you!" he screamed throbbing my ear drums. I looked back at him clearly defeated. He sneered and retreated back into the Millennium Ring; in from which he came.
I sighed heavily and pulled myself off of the floor. He was gone, but he would be back again. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have a kind Yami like Yugi. It must be nice, very nice. I secretly wished that my Yami could be like that, but I knew that something of that magnitude was like a snowflake in the Sahara desert. My Yami would never change, and I had known that from the first time that he had flattened me. My Yami was truly evil.
~~End of Flashback~~
Those memories scared me, they always did. I hated remembering how much that my Yami hated me. My hand come into contact with the back of head once again. It was still sore, but it did not hurt nearly as bad as it had the night before. Only a scab remained from the bloody mess of earlier. I'm glad that I had gotten the gash on my head, instead of somewhere else, like my back. Yugi and the others hadn't even noticed it because my hair covered it up. That is only thing that I'm happy about.
I have no idea why I just don't tell them about what Bakura does to me. I should, but then, I know that Bakura would just end up hurting them too. I wouldn't want him to hurt my friends anymore. He has hurt them enough.
I finished up my apple, and threw the core in the garbage can. I walked to the living room and flipped on the TV. I mind as well, do something to take my mind off of Bakura. I need to stop thinking about him, or I might go crazy and end up in a mental hospital. I don't need anything else weird to happen.
Just as I settled myself down in a plushy recliner, the phone rang. Who was calling me now? I just wanted some peace for a little while. "Hello?"
"Hi Bakura" said Yugi's voice. "It's Yugi."
"Oh, Hi Yugi"
"Bakura, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me." said Yugi.
I thought over this in my head. It would be fun to go with Yugi and it would take my mind off Bakura much better than an electronic box. "Okay, what time?"
"How about in an hour?"
"All right, I'll meet you at your house, Bye Yugi."
"See 'ya later"
And with that the dial tone returned and I hung up the phone. This would be great. I wouldn't have to worry about getting pounded again by Bakura tonight. He wouldn't dare show himself with Yugi and his Yami around. I would get off easy, this time.

Well, I hoped you liked it. I'm sorry if it's too short, but it's kind of a prologue to the upcoming chapters. Please review and tell me what you think, and whether I should continue or not. Thank-you!
