Yami walked back into the Muto home, whistling to himself slightly. He had been gone longer than he expected he would be.

<Stupid boss! Next time he can make his own pizza delivery.> (Shadow: Heehee! Just imagine Yami, the one almighty pharaoh, wearing a Pizza Hut hat and driving the little car with the sign on the roof delivering pizzas!! Yami: welcome to Pizza Hut can I take your order?! Shadow: LOL)

He noticed all the lights were turned off and Seto wasn't around.

<Funny, his limo was still parked in the driveway . . .>

Yami hung his jacket up in the closet and trudged up the stairs. He noticed the long blade in front of his slightly ajar bedroom door. <What in the world?>

"Seto-chan..?" (Shadow: there I go with the name endings again! Specter: X_X)

--No response--

"Seto-chan..?" he tried again, a little louder.

--Silence--

He opened the door to his bedroom and gasped. The window had been shattered, clothes thrown everywhere, and puddles of red liquid on the white carpet.

"Blood..?"

He looked up to see his Koibito dangling from the ceiling fan, stabbed in numerous places including the sides and arm.

--Dead--

His eyes widened and he ran out of the room, nearly tripping on the large knife in front of the doorway. He didn't know why but his thoughts where now drifting to his hikari.

"What if whoever did this killed Yugi too?" he wondered out loud, not really knowing why all the sudden Yugi was coming to mind. <I never really thought of the little shit much before, why care now?>

He opened the door to his Aibou's room. Yugi's room was in the same condition as his -- except much worse. The navy wallpaper had been ripped off the walls to reveal the cheery green which Yami liked much better. (Shadow: is Yugi's room green? Oh well it is in my ficcie)

Papers and books and toys littered the wall. The bed was completely ripped apart, the window was also shattered, clothes were scattered everywhere, and in the center of the room with a small knife stuck in his back was his small other half. From where he stood he could see bone sticking out of his right arm. Blood pooled around the little one and Yami growled, whoever did this to him was going to pay dearly.

"Aibou!" he cried, racing over to the body and cradling it in his arms.

Yugi groaned and stirred, turning over and wincing when the knife cut farther into his back.

"Yugi don't move I'm going to take the knife out of your back okay? Then I'll call the ambulance."

Yugi nodded weakly and coughed up some moor blood which splattered onto Yami's shirt. (Shadow: they always seem to cough up blood. How original ^^;)

Yami slowly tugged on the knife, gently pulling it out little by little. Yugi started crying, "Y-Yami-c-chan; it-it hurts s-so much!"

The ex-Pharaoh smiled sympathetically, "I know, Aibou but soon the pain will stop, trust me." He paused, "who did this to you?"

"I-I don't kn-know. Is Seto-k-kun hurt too?"

Yami's expression saddened quite a bit, "I'm-I'm afraid Seto-chan isn't as lucky as you. He didn't make it little one."

A single crystalline tear escaped to corner of Yugi's large violet eye.

"Oh Yami-chan, I'm so s-sorry! You-you loved him so much! I wish I could've died in-in his place!" he cried.

Yami smiled warmly, <my little Yugi. He's always so caring . . . always putting others before himself.>

The spirit closed his eyes, missing the malicious look Yugi sent in his direction.

After a few minutes, Yami had his small light bandaged up and the ambulance was on their way.

"You're going to be alright Aibou I promise. You're going to live and I'll make up for all those times I ignored you and was cruel."

Yugi sniffled and cuddled up to his Yami, "Yami-chan you love me right?" he asked quietly.

The ex-Pharaoh sighed, "Well Hikari I'm not sure who I love at the moment. I loved Seto but now that he's gone I don't miss him all too much. Maybe I love you but I just can't say yet. When the time comes I'll tell you who I love."

"Oh, okay Yami," Yugi answered.

There was a loud banging on the door and the paramedics rushed in with a stretcher. One of the women in a police uniform carrying a clipboard told Yami to stay behind so she could ask him questions.

"Iie, Yami don't stay! I want you to come with me!" Yugi pleaded.

The police woman smiled at the little teenager, "don't worry kid he'll join you soon. I just have to ask him a few questions."

Yugi whimpered but nodded anyways.

"Yami Muto correct?"

Yami nodded.

"Where were you tonight before and while this happened?"

Yami was annoyed at the invasion of privacy . . . he certainly didn't want to tell this woman that he had his `boyfriend' over, "my close friend, Seto Kaiba, was over. While he was here my boss called and told me to make a delivery so I left and when I came back - well this was what I found."

"You have no idea who could've done this?"

"Iie!"

She nodded and scribbled something down, "just where do you work Mr. Muto?"

Yami grumbled, "Pizza hut." He said in a dead voice. (Shadow: HEEHEE!!! I want cinasticks! Specter: that's Dominoes Pizza stupid! Shadow: ^^; whatever they're yummy!!)

She nodded, "and just where was the small boy during all of this?"

Yami thought, "he was supposed to be in his room sleeping. And his name is Yugi no `small boy'."

The police officer rolled her eyes, "do not talk back to officers young man it will only get you into trouble. She looked at her notes, "the only suspect we'd have for the murder of Seto Kaiba is the small boy - er - Yugi-kun."

"No Yugi-chan `did not' kill Seto!"

"I never said he did if you'd please let me finish Mr. Muto! I said he was the main suspect. However he was injured as well. I doubt that he would injure himself . . . not even homicide committers are that stupid. We'll just have to continue the search and check the house for clues. For the mean time . . . do you have any friends or family you can stay with?"

Yami thought; all Yugi's family was dead. They had to stay with a friend.

"The Mazakis; Anzu Mazaki is a personal friend of mine and she would be more than happy to let us stay in her home I'm sure."

The woman nodded, "I'll call the Mazakis and tell them of the situation. Then we must call the Kaiba mansion and report to young Mokuba-kun about the death of his brother."

Yami's eyes widened. He had forgotten about Mokuba. <Poor kid was more in love with his brother than I was.>

He nodded and a male officer opened the door to a car for him, "we'll take you to the hospital right away to see Yugi Muto, sir."

"A-arigato," Yami said stepping into the car.

"You; search the house for clues!" the female office snapped.

Several officers ran inside the house and the police car pulled away.

Yugi stared around the room. It was all white. How he hated that color. White . . . it was too pure. It reminded him too much about his past. When he was happy and Yami care for him.

<I'll make him love me. He'll be sorry he ever ignored me. He'll be sorry. I'll kill all of his `friends' if it means I'll get to be with him. This was too easy getting rid of Kaiba. He was so unsuspecting; just like the rest of those saps. They think I'm so weak. But I'll show them all. I'll show Yami. They'll all pay for killing me on the inside!>

The nurse stepped into the room to change the bandages on his arm.

"Poor dear. You've been through a lot. I cannot believe someone would dare hurt such an innocent and not to mention cute little boy."

Yugi's eyes flashed for a moment but he masked it with the usual right gleam and let the blood rush to his cheeks. `I-I don't know who would want to hurt Yami-Chan by hurting me and killing Seto-kun. But I would've died if it meant saving Seto-kun! I feel so bad for Yami-Chan for losing him."

The nurse smiled, "you're so caring about this Yami you speak of. Is he your brother?"

Yugi hesitated then nodded, "Hai he is. We are very close and I know he'd think the same if it meant saving me or making me happy." <Yeah right.>

"Well you must have a close bond between you then. How sweet that is."

She left and closed the light so he could get some well deserved sleep.
