Jounouchi and Kaiba got back to the mansion from KaibaCorp later that afternoon. Jou had been impressed with the office that Kaiba worked in - almost as impressed as he had been when he first came to the mansion. He still had to admit he felt a bit glum about seeing Bell's grave, though. He didn't think it would be that hard. It had been the first time he had cried since her death… and it still hurt like hell.
Jou was currently sitting up at the huge dining table opposite Kaiba sipping on an iced tea. He really didn't care about the silence that restrained either of them from speaking; he was too deep in thought filtering through his memories of Bell to notice. He was suddenly pulled from his thoughts as a juvenile voice echoed throughout the hall. Mokuba had appeared back from wherever he was.
"Hey, nii-sama! Can I ask you something? You gotta say yes!" He cried.
The elder Kaiba sibling frowned in doubt. "Go on."
Mokuba beamed. "You know how my birthday is coming up really, really soon?"
Kaiba merely rolled his eyes. "Mokuba, if it's about the party -"
"Oh but -!"
"No."
"Seto!"
"NO."
"Pleeeease?!"
"NO!"
"But I've thought about what I wanna do now!" Mokuba protested.
Kaiba was becoming irritated. "Mokuba."
"Hear the kid out, Kaiba." Jou began. "I sure didn't get the luxuries you guys do on my birthdays."
Kaiba's expression softened somewhat and his eyes seemed to have an icy sheen cast upon them. It was almost as if memories were flooding back to him from his past birthdays as a youngster. Mokuba continued to watch him with a pleading look in his eyes.
Sighing, he finally spoke. "What is it you had in mind, Mokuba?"
A mischievous glint suddenly ignited in the young boy's grey eyes. "Sleepover!"

"Oh GODS! Marik! AKOA*! AKOA!!!"
The only sounds coming from the Bakura and Ishtar household at present was the sounds coming from Marik's bedroom - except it wasn't Bakura that he was making love to. Ryou and Bakura both rolled their eyes in monotony and tried to put their minds elsewhere until they were done.
"How are you feeling now, yami?" Ryou asked as he felt Bakura's temperature. Although the weather was sweltering hot, he didn't have a fever, which was a good sign.
"I'm fine, Ryou. Stop fussing." The white-haired spirit grunted, brushing Ryou's hand away from his forehead.
Ryou sighed and went to the kitchen. "Well do you want anything, then? Another drink, perhaps?"
"I said I'm fine."
Ryou was about to erupt in frustration. Ever since Bakura had woken up and was told of the heat wave, he had been in the crankiest of moods. Marik and Malik somehow ended up in the bedroom, which didn't help much either. All Ryou wanted to do was talk… yet he was afraid that Bakura would just snap at him like he had been all morning.
Ryou calmed himself and went back into the lounge where his counterpart was sitting. He was flicking through channels on TV looking irritated and bored. Ryou felt like he was treading on eggshells but sat down at Bakura's feet on the end of the couch nonetheless. He simply stared at Bakura until he finally got his attention.
"What?" Bakura scowled.
"The only reason we're making such a big deal about this is because we're concerned for you, Bakura." Ryou reasoned. "So drop the attitude."
Bakura grimaced at his lighter half. "I'll have whatever attitude I want."
"… don't you think you've taken it far enough?" Ryou asked. He only got a glare in reply.
"Fine, screw you. You can bitch out at Marik but you won't with me! I'm going out." Ryou yelled, and got up raucously from the couch and went for the door.
"Don't be a fool Ryou." Bakura growled. "You'll get sunburned to hell out there."
Ryou turned around and glared defiantly at his dark half. "It's better than hanging around here with you."
"You take that back!" Bakura shot up off of the couch in saying this.
"No! I try to look out for your well-being, and for what?! I get treated like nothing but a pain in the neck in return! I don't have to put up with your bullshit, Bakura!"
Bakura was taken aback somewhat; he had never seen his hikari so angry before. He never knew Ryou could even be capable of such rage. "Ryou, please -"
"Go to Hell!" With that, Ryou left, slamming the door behind him.

Otogi Ryuuji found himself outside Honda Hiroto's apartment, trying to figure out what to say to an inanimate object; namely, the wall. He should have, in a way, expected something like this to happen, as he had never been good with words. It was already too late to be having these types of second thoughts though when he was already so far ahead.
Looking at his cast-clad broken hand (due to punching the wall yesterday afternoon), he sighed and rang the doorbell. He didn't see Honda's motorbike parked outside his apartment, but figured that it might be in the garage. In a nutshell, he had a 50-50 chance that Honda would be home. Secretly he was hoping he wouldn't be.
The door opened to reveal a tired looking Honda, his hair flat, messy and ruffled. He looked like he'd been to Hell and back. Otogi hoped he hadn't been beating himself up over what happened yesterday.
"What happened to you?" Otogi asked, without meaning to sound rude.
"Hangover." Honda replied, rubbing his eyes and yawning loudly. "What do you want? I've got better things to get on with than you breathing down my neck."
"Well I just came around to say sorry for yesterday…" He said quietly, taking great interest in his feet. "I've got the broken hand to prove it."
Honda had to smile at the corniness of his last phrase. "You idiot." He laughed.
Otogi smiled meekly and studied the ground again. He felt unspeakably awkward, and hadn't the faintest idea what to say. "Well, I guess I'll leave you to it then."
"Don't be stupid; come in." Honda replied and held open the door for him.
Otogi smiled, now glad that he had come around. Honda couldn't stay mad at anyone for long, he was too dopey for that, but it was one of many traits that Otogi liked about him. In fact, there wasn't really anything that Otogi disliked about him; he was strongly-built, kept himself tidily groomed, was nice, cracked hilarious jokes and, when he applied himself, could actually be quite intelligent. Otogi suddenly felt like he was being too high-maintenance. He shrugged it off and tried to clear his head. All these thoughts were making him feel sick.
"What's with this frickin' weather man?! It's so bloody hot!" Honda hollered from the kitchen in an attempt to strike up a conversation.
Yeah, hot. Just like you…
"They reckon it's a heat wave." Otogi replied, sitting down on one of the couches. "My place is like a sweatbox; the air conditioning decided to pack a sad at the worst possible time."
"Man that sucks! Must be hell trying to get to sleep there." Honda replied as he came and sat with Otogi, bringing a jug of ice-cold lemon-lime-and-bitters with him.
"It is… I kept waking up having to put wet towels on my forehead."
"Well you could always stay here until you get it fixed. That is if you want to, of course." Honda suggested.
Otogi was flattered. It was rare that anyone offered him anything, since they thought he already had everything. "You wouldn't mind? I mean… what about what happened yesterday?"
Honda waved his hand out, gesturing that he'd forgotten it already. "Who gives a toss? I don't blame you in any way… I probably would have acted the same. I forgive you, alright? Can we still… at least stay friends?"
Otogi beamed at the brunet and nodded quietly. "Thanks… I appreciate that; I acted like such a jerk-off."
"It's no problem." Honda said. "So what should we do then?"
Otogi shrugged. Then an idea struck him. "We could go for a swim down at the beach or something…"

"How could you have just let him walk out like that?! BAKA!!" Malik screamed. He was worried beyond belief.
"Did he take the car or just walk?" Marik questioned.
"I don't know! I don't know!" Bakura shrieked in a frenzied panic. "He could die out there! I'm such an idiot! Ra damn it!"
"Ryou's life is at danger because of you!" Malik yelled in Bakura's face, then ran outside, and came back in. "He didn't take the car… he must have walked."
"Come on then," Bakura said as he grabbed his baseball cap and put it on to shield his eyes from the sun. "We have to go and find him."

"Who do you intend on bringing to this sleepover, Mokuba?" Seto asked sternly.
"All your friends of course!" Mokuba beamed. "Nobody at school is cool enough to come to this sleepover, nii-sama. I've got it all planned out!"
"Not cool enough, huh?" Jounouchi questioned, immediately picking up that Mokuba was just about as cocky as his elder sibling. "Why's that?"
"I asked some of my friends and they said they'd ask their parents… They came back the next day and told me they weren't allowed because there wouldn't be parental supervision…" Mokuba's tone faded severely as he said this.
Seto snorted at that. "So only the most mature, rich and high-maintenance teenager in Domino isn't good enough for them, huh?"
Jou mentally rolled his eyes. "Who needs `em? I'm sure you'll be able to have fun without your friends anyway, squirt. Who couldn't have fun in a place like this?"
"You get used to it." Kaiba replied, killing the joy.
"You guys are better than them anyway!" Mokuba chirped. "You are coming, aren't you Jounouchi? I've already made invitations!"
"Sure, that's if Mr. High-and-Mighty over there doesn't have a problem." Jou replied, smirking. Kaiba shot a poisonous glare at him.
"Great! I've invited Yuugi, Yami, Ryou, Bakura, you, Seto, Malik, Marik, Honda, Otogi, Shizuka, Mai and Anzu to come. It's going to be great!"
Jou smiled. The kid sure means well…
"As much as Mai would like to come, I don't think she'll be able to. She'll probably be in the states." Jou said, not really wanting to tell Mokuba the real reason why she wouldn't be here. He needn't know of Mai's new occupation, and Kaiba certainly didn't either.

Ryou was at the beach, crying. He was sitting on the top of a sand dune underneath a shady tree to try and keep cool. The reason he was crying? He hated getting into fights with Bakura. It was almost like having a fight with himself, and he couldn't get away from it no matter how hard he tried. He had his mind link closed for the time being; he knew that the others would be worried and would be out looking for him, but he didn't want to be found.
I'm being selfish… Ryou thought. But Bakura should think twice next time and stop being such an ass!
Ryou watched the waves crashing onto the sand down at the beach beyond. His silent tears soon stopped falling and he got up to return home. He'd been gone for a good hour or so, and he figured that it had been long enough. On walking back down the sand-dune, he saw two familiar figures in the distance. As he neared them, he noticed them being Otogi and Honda. They were getting off of Honda's motorbike with a bag each on their shoulders.
Honda looked up and noticed Ryou coming toward them. "Hey Ryou! What brings you out this way?"
"Oh nothing, really. Are you two going for a swim?" Ryou replied, trying to hide the redness in his eyes from them.
"Yeah… hey is everything okay? You look… kinda sad." Honda replied anxiously. "Ryou?"
Ryou smiled at the taller boy. "I'm fine, Honda. Bakura and I just had a bit of a fall out this afternoon, that's all."
"Is everything alright?" Otogi asked as he came up behind Honda.
"Yeah, I'm just heading back now. Have fun at the beach, guys!" with that said, Ryou ran off back toward the road and started the journey home.
Honda and Otogi exchanged glances and shrugged.
"I can't work out how he can always be so… happy." Otogi mentioned as they began to walk up the small rise of the sand dune to the beach.
"Neither, really." Honda replied. "He's always been that way, though."
"He's a cute kid though, I admit." Otogi said. "But not as cute as you."
Honda grinned and blushed at the comment that had come from his admirer. They reached the beach and put their things down, and ran into the cooling waves together. Honda dove under the waves and came back up again, but he couldn't see Otogi anywhere. He felt a little confused but figured he was just playing some sort of trick on him in hope to scare him.
"Ahh! Holy crap!" Honda yelped as he felt two hands grab his ankles under the water and pull him under. As soon as he surfaced again, he saw Otogi laughing his ass off at him.
"Damn! I got you good!" He yelled.
"Yeah, yeah. Nice one." Honda muttered.
They sat in the water just floating about a bit, enjoying the warm sunlight on their faces and the balmy water sloshing around their rippled bodies. Once the humour of the joke had worn off, Otogi made his way over to Honda and boldly wrapped his legs around the brunet's hips. Honda automatically put his arms around the ebony haired boy's body to support him in the water. He couldn't have felt happier at this moment; it was the only thing he had ever wanted since he laid eyes on Otogi… to be able to get this close to him.
As soon as their eyes came into contact, Otogi leant in and placed his lips against Honda's. Honda closed his eyes and let the sultry taste of the other boy take over his senses as their tongues collided into an engaging domination of rapture. Otogi moaned into the taller boy's mouth and deepened the kiss by putting his hand on the back of Honda's head. Honda and Otogi alike were becoming stiff as their continued to engage in their world of elation and began to rub up against each other.
When the need for air became desperate, Otogi pulled away, looking flushed and steamy. Honda was too stuck for words to even say anything about the remarkable situation they had just experienced. Otogi was breathing deeply and after a few seconds of getting his breath back, managed to crack a smile at Honda.
Honda smiled back at him, and pulled him into an embrace. The only thing he could think about now was what would be awaiting them later tonight.

"Ryou! We were worried to hell about you! Don't ever do that again, alright! You hear me?" Bakura screamed as the three walked in, seeing Ryou perched on the couch watching television.
"You sound like my father, Bakura." Ryou said in monotony as he rolled his eyes.
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry for everything. Please, forgive me?"
Ryou looked down at his darker half who was crouched on his knees on the floor by the couch looking up at him. "Alright… you're forgiven."
"Thank you." Bakura hugged his light quickly before moving off somewhere else. Marik went to follow him.
Ryou still appeared sad, though. Malik sat down next to him. "Bakura didn't mean to hurt you, Ryou. He's just upset… he's going through hell at the moment, like he did all those years ago. It's like a nightmare come to life that he thought had been forgotten."
"I guess," Ryou replied. "But he doesn't have to be so pigheaded about it…"
"I know," Malik said. "We'll just have to put up with him for a while. He's got Marik to keep him in line, though, so don't worry too much, okay?"
Ryou sighed. "I suppose you're right… thanks."
"Not a problem, love." Malik replied, and kissed his lover on the forehead. "You don't know how many people love you, Ryou. We'd be lost without you… Ryou? Ryou?"
Ryou let out a deep sigh. Then his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell unconscious onto the floor. Malik's lilac eyes came out of their sockets in fright and panic.
"RYOU!"
