Delusions of Fools

Bakura walked down the street to the Ishtar home. He was surprised to hear no sounds of whips, chains, and moaning emanating from the place. The yami looked at Malik's well-tended garden as he walked up the stone path.
Two seated Anubis statues flanked the wooden door to the Ishtar home.
He knocked on the door hard. “MARIK! YOU HOME?!”
Bakura knocked on the door again. “Get out of your Light for a moment and answer your door!”
Bakura raised his hand to knock, but Marik had opened it before he could knock.
“Yo, `Kura! Come in!”
Bakura stepped inside to the dimly-lit room.
Malik came down the stairs, dog collar stil attached. “Hi, Bakura! Nice to see you!”
Bakura raised an eyebrow. “Hi, Fido. Marik, what's up with the collar?”
“Oh, I was just playing a game with him.”
“'How horny is that dog in the window'?”
“More like….'Complete Submission.'”
“Sweet Isis….”
Marik grinned and put his arm around Bakura's shoulders. “Don't play coy, Bakura. I know you would love to have Ryou in that thing.”
Bakura shoved Marik back. “I think no such thing!”
Marik laughed. “You're kidding, right? Wake up and smell the coffee, `Kura! Half of Domino sees how you look at him…how you undress him with your eyes.”
“I would never do that!”
Malik snickered. “Yeah, right. …and I'm a virgin!”
“Yeah, virgin my ass! Even Malik and I see how you react around him! Take the bull by the testicles and twist! Tell him how you feel! Or at least stop lying to yourself!”
Bakura crossed his arms. “I am doing it! I'm doing it tonight! I'm making dinner for him.”
Malik ran to the two yamis. “You go, `Kura! We need to get you ready for that! What are you going to cook?”
Bakura shook his head. “I have no fucking clue. Marik and I have to--.”
“That shit can wait! We gotta pimp you out so you look fucking drool-worthy!”
Bakura stepped back, looking at the two Ishtars. “Why do I sense an alterior motive here?”
Marik and Malik grinned, their lips curled up in twin devilish grins.
“We gotta make you look sexy so we can watch the sex!” Marik grinned.
“WHAT?!”
“Sex,” Malik giggled. “S-E-X. You DO want to have sex with him, right?”
“I want to make love to Ryou, not just fuck him!”
Marik shrugged. “Fuck, make love, what's the difference? It still entails placing your “A” into Ryou's “B.””
“Actually,” Malik smiled. “Your `P', Bakura into Ryou's `A'.”
“You are both disturbing,” Bakura said flatly.
Marik grinned proudly. “Yeah, I know I'm cool. Our business can wait, Bakura. I wanna see you happy.”
“You just wanna see me get pounded into the mattress.”
“I would never!” Marik gasped. “I'm doing this out of friendship!”
“AHH! Don't say that word!”
Marik snickered and scratched his blond, spiky hair. “I'm doing this out of mutual respect?”
“Better.”
“Bakura, Marik and I will have you looking so sexy, Ryou won't be able to keep his tongue off you or his pants up!”
Marik nodded. “If we make you look too hot, though, Malik and I will have to gang-bang you so we have to control the Sexy.”
“There is no controlling the Sexy!” Malik squealed, shaking his ass and slapping it once, hard.
“Very true, Young Ishtar! Go upstairs and get ready.” Marik held Bakura by his shoulders. “Bakura, we're gonna sex you up……Bigtime.”

Ryou walked towards KaibaCorp a short few blocks away. He stopped in front of the Kame Game Shop and admired the new, modern sign Yugi and Yami had chosen for the shop.
Ryou remembered the fight Grandpa put up when Yugi decided to get a new sign. It wasn't a pleasant confrontation.
`The store sign is old!' Yugi argued. `It needs something! Otogi got a new sign for his place and he's taking our business! We need to win back our old crowd, gramps! Trust me!'
Ryou entered the Kame Game Shop and saw Yami sweeping the floor. “Hi, Yami! The sign outside looks really cool!”
Yami chuckled and leaned on his broom. “Hi, Ryou! I thought the sign looked better than our old one, by far. Even Grandpa agrees with us now.”
“That's progress. Where is Yugi?”
“Right here, Ry! Hi! Great to see you!” The shorter teen hugged Ryou tightly after running out of the back room.
“Hi, Yugi!” Ryou smiled, hugging back. “That sign out there looks awesome!”
Yugi smiled proudly. “Yeah! It cost a pretty penny, but it was worth it!”
“Where's Bakura? Gone Stealin'?” Yami asked.
Ryou shrugged. “Who knows. Bakura's really trying hard, Yami. He told me this morning that he hasn't stolen a thing all week.”
“And you believe him?”
“Well, sure I do. Bakura tries, Yami. Please give him the benefit of a doubt.”
Yami raised an eyebrow. “I will never trust him completely unless he can look me in the eye and say right to my face that he has changed.”
Yugi pat Ryou's arm. “I believe you, Ryou. He hasn't stolen anything from here in about a month.”
“I guess I scared the shit out of him when I caught him the last time, then,” Yami commented.
“I don't know what you did, Yami. When he came back home, he was quiet and went into the Ring. I found the Ring on the bed the next morning.”
“Well, I must have knocked some sense into him,” Yami muttered under his breath as he continued sweeping the floor.
“Get any new cards, Yugi?”
Yugi nodded. “Sure I did! I have one for you and Bakura that will fit each of your decks!” Yugi ran behind the counter and put the new binder of cards on the glass counter. “This one is a Fiend card for Bakura.”
Ryou took the card in his hand. “'The Two-Faced Fiend Monarch.' Wow! He's got almost as much attack power as Kaiba's Blue Eyes!”
Yugi nodded. “Sure does! If you played this card in a duel, I'll bet you'll make him poop a little.”
“Half the monster's flesh is hanging off. Bakura will like that card.” Ryou reached into his pocket and grabbed his wallet.
“Don't worry about that one, Ry. Bakura's birthday is coming up and I want to see him have a good present.”
“Are you sure?”
“Sure thing! I have one for you, too!” Yugi smiled.
Ryou's eyes lit up. “'Possessed Angel of Light'! Wow! “
“I know how you like your deck. She'll fit in well.”
Ryou picked up the card gingerly. “I love this card! Bakura and I enjoy pitting his Fiend-Demon deck against my Angel deck.”
“Now you can give a run for his money,” Yami said, scooping dirt into the dustpan.
Ryou nodded. “I'll take it, Yugi!”
“Don't worry about it!”
“No, please, Yugi, I have to pay you something!”
“It's okay, Ryou.”
Ryou took twenty dollars out of his wallet and slappit it on the glass. “Here! Take it! I must.”
Yugi sighed. “Okay, Ry. Four dollars is your change.”
Ryou pocketed the change. “Thank you, Yugi. I'll be sure to keep this safe. Bakura will love his card!”
“I know he will, Ry! You enjoy yourself, too!”
“I will. It's going in my deck as soon as I get home. I'll do it before dinner. Bakura's cooking for me tonight. He sounded excited.”
“Do you need me to come over and taste test it for you? Check it for poison?”
Yugi thwaped Yami on the back of the head. “Bakura cooks awesome!”
“No, Yami, bakura won't poison me. If I die, he'll be all alone. I don't want him to be alone.”
“So you DO have feelings for him! Yami, you owe me five bucks!” Yugi cheered.
“Well, he is my other half. He spends a lot of his time with Marik. Maybe they have something going on.”
Yami snickered. “What about Seto Kaiba? The tabloids keep talking about a `boyfriend'. You wouldn't happen to be said boyfriend, would you?”
Ryou blushed. “I don't know. Seto and I are close, yes, but--.”
“Butt-sex close or `friendly' close?” Yami asked.
“Yami!” Ryou gasped. “I don't know what the tabloids are saying. Half the time, they're rubbish anyway.”
“Very true,” Yugi agreed.
“Seto and I are close friends. The media are making up stories again to get papers sold. I'm not Seto's romantic interest.”
Yugi shrugged. “Yami believes those tabloids.”
“Do not.”
“Do, too! Why else would you bring it up?”
Yami shrugged. “It was something I heard and I wanted to confirm it. That's all.”
Yugi snickered. “Sure, Yami. So, do you, Ryou?”
“Do I what?”
“Have feelings for him…Bakura?” Yugi grinned.
Ryou blushed and turned his eyes to a rack of nearby shirts. “I don't know.”
Yugi snickered. “I can tell!”
Ryou looked at the clock and gasped. “Oh my! I'm late for my lunch with Seto! Thank you for the cards, Yugi! Bye!”
Yugi watched Ryou scurry out the door and looked up at the clock: 9:03 a.m. “That's strange.”
Yami scooped the dirt off the floor. “What is, Aibou?”
“Seto just walked into his office. It's no where near lunch!”
Yami grinned. “Ryou is lying through his teeth.”
“It's not like Ryou. I know he cares for Bakura. I'd just wish he'd admit it.”
“Bakuras are a silent bunch. They don't say much.”
Yami nodded. “Then you've got the opposite side of the spectrum: the Ishtars. They don't shut up for a second. All they do is fuck and chatter.”
Yugi giggled. “The Ishtars aren't bad, just misunderstood.”
“Misunderstood…..and freaky,” Yami added.
******************************
Malik picked up a black satin shirt and ran it over to Bakura's changing room. “Try this!”
Marik dragged the shirt over the door. “Here's another shirt to try on, sexy. Drop the drawers and let's see this shirt with the last pair of pants you had on.”
raised his eyebrow. “Turn around.”
“Why? We have the same equipment, you know. It's nothing I;ve never seen before.”
Bakura sighed. `Okay, fine. Just stop staring at it!”
“I'm mentally comparing size.”
Bakura snickered. “Jealous?”
“Far from it! Malik gets a generous stuffing on a nightly basis…and he's a very satisfied boy.”
“Good grief.”
“Okay, Charlie Brown, just drop those pants and put on that last pair. This shirt will look drool-licious on you.”
Bakura dropped his pants and kept his eye on the grinning yami. “Are you mentally undressing me with your eyes?”
“When am I not?”
“EW!”
Marik laughed. “I know you are flattered.”
“Are we almost done here? I gotta start dinner.”
“Can of raviolis for you and Ryou?” Marik laughed.
“Fuck you! No! I'm making sirloin steak and noodles along with some wine. I already stole the wine a while ago. I knew it would come in handy.”
Marik snickered. “Thief.”
“Yeah, so? I was bored and it was before I told Ryou I would try and not steal anything anymore.”
Marik grinned. “Hey, Bakura, Mr. Happy is getting….. excited.”
Bakura covered himself with his hand. `Dammit! Thinking about the excitement of stealing got me hard! Damn! Shit! Get down, you! Okay, I know! Think of the pharaoh naked…naked as a babe out of his mother's womb….think of his ass covered in zits….Eww…..happy bunnies dancing under happy, smiling rainbows….'
Marik's eyes widened. “Wow…that was quick.”
Bakura looked at Marik's watch. “DAMN! I'm gonna be late!”
Marik opened the door and Malik squealed. “TA-DA!”
Malik clapped. “THAT'S IT, `KURA! Ryou won't hesitate to peel those clothes off of you and ride you like a cowboy!” Malik swing his hips and sang. “We're bringing sexy back!”
******************************

Ryou walked the rest of the way to KaibaCorp thinking about what Yugi had said. “I care for Bakura a lot. I can't deny I have feelings for him. But, I also have feelings for Seto. I keep telling myself I have to make up my mind. Everytime I tell myself that. I always come up with the same answer: Undecided.
Ryou sighed. “Why is it hard for me to make up my mind?”
He felt like hitting himself for his lack of decisiveness. “One of these days it will come down to a decision: Seto or Bakura.”
He walked up the steps of the entranceway.
A tall Blue Eyes statue flanked each side of the entrance.
He passed through the doors into the large lobby with glass walls.
Ryou approached the front desk. “Hello, I'm here to see Seto Kaiba.”
“One moment, Mr. Bakura.”
The lady picked up the red phone and dialed a number. “Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Kaiba..yes I know you said you didn't want to be disturbed, but Ryou Bakura is here to see you…yes, sir.”
The lady replaced the red receiver down. “Mr. Kaiba will see you upstairs.”
“Thank you.”
Ryou walked towards the elevator and pressed Floor 54. Ryou placed his eye against a black panel.
“Retina scan initiating…..” A red light scanned Ryou's eye. “Retina scan complete. Welcome, Ryou Bakura.”
Ryou felt the elevator begin to rise. As he looked through the glass elevator, he looked below at the teal floor and the green plants scattered around. The floor of the elevator was blue, a slight shade darker than the floor of the lobby.
Ryou waited patiently as the elevator rose. The people below became smaller and smaller.
When the elevator reached its destination, the doors opened and he walked down the long hall flanked by meeting rooms and high-ranking corporate members of Kaiba's staff.
No one was higher or more important than Seto Kaiba, and he made certain his authority was absolute. At the end of the hallway, he opened the door and smiled at the secretary.
“Hello, Ms. Granger,” he said in his pleasant British voice. “You are looking smashing today!”
The woman giggled and blushed. “Mr. Bakura, you are quite the sweet-talker!”
Ryou smiled. “I'm only telling the truth.”
“Mr. Seto Kaiba is waiting for you inside.”
“Thank you, dear,” Ryou said, opening the door and closing it behind him.
Seto was facing the wall of mirrors, his back turned to Ryou. “I hope I am making myself clear. I don't want to repeat myself.”
“Excuse me?”
Seto turned back and talked into the speaker phone on his desk. “I am telling you right now to bypass the mainframe and link the system to the backup generator! Do I need to speak a different language for you to understand me?!”
[No, Mr. Kaiba! Right away, sir! Donovan out.]
Seto sat in his leather chair and rested his head back against the soft headrest. “Ryou, explain to me why some people are idiots.”
Ryou shrugged and sat on one of the chairs across from Seto's desk. “I'm afraid I can't answer that.”
Seto opened an eye to the white-haired teen across from him. His eye looked at the gold clock on his desk. “You are three minutes late, you know. Do you know what I do with employees who show up late?”
Ryou shrugged. “I don't know. I'm not your employee.”
Seto stood up and leaned forward on the desk, his hands planted firmly on the dark mahogany desk. “I give them a serious tongue-lashing.” The CEO walked around the desk slowly. “They sit there quietly….just where you are sitting. They fidget with their hands, their fingers……you can see the sweat just pouring from their foreheads…waiting for me to make a final decision. Will they be fired…or will they be able to work another day? The decision is all up to me.”
Seto stopped behind Ryou, who turned his head around. Seto grabbed Ryou's head and faced it forward. “They don't look at me…..They look ahead. They are afraid of looking me in the face.” Seto leaned down and whispered in Ryou's ear. “Then they get really nervous…they can feel my breath on the back of their necks…like this.” Seto moved Ryou's long, white, soft hair to the side and blew on the back of his neck. The teen closed his eyes and let out a pleasureable sigh. “Feel that?”
“I do.”
“But you are not my employee, are you?” Seto grinned, whispering gently into Ryou's ear. “No, I'll do something different with you.”
“Such as?”
Seto turned Ryou's head to the left and placed a gentle kiss on Ryou's lips. The CEO raised his hand to Ryou's face and lightly brushed his cheek with his fingertips. Ryou closed his eyes and raised his hands to cup Seto's cheeks in his hands.
Seto's kisses trailed down Ryou's chin and down to the side of his neck. Ryou's fingers buried themselves in Seto's short brown hair.
The CEO licked a trail up to Ryou's ear and kissed it. “That is what I do with you when you are late for our morning tea.”
Ryou giggled. “I should be late every day, then.”
Seto walked over to a coffee table across the room. He gathered Ryou's teacup and poured some hot water in it. He placed a teabag and a few sugar cubes on Ryou's saucer. He brought the cup and saucer over to Ryou. “Here you go.”
“Thank you,” the teen responded politely.
Seto poured himself more coffee and sat behind his desk. “Today has been nothing but dealing with idiocy.”
“Oh? Well, Seto, have you thought that maybe some people don't quite understand what is expected of them?”
“Ryou, I only hire people who have brains in their heads. These people graduated from the top mechanical and electrical schools in the nation. I guarantee you that just one person from my cybernetics division brings in more money in a day than Malik does dancing dirty at the Cat Tailz Club.”
“He still does that? I haven't seen him in a while.”
Seto nodded. “He still goes there. Joey's trying to get me to go there for my twenty-first birthday. I told him that place doesn't interest me. He insists we go.”
Ryou shrugged. “I've never seen him dance.”
“I've never been there, so I don't know how he is. I hear he's a popular request, though.”
Ryou sipped his tea. “I know he goes by the name Shadow there, but beyond that, I know very little. Marik likes to go to keep Malik safe from random goons who want in Malik's pants.”
“I don't see how Marik would allow his Light to work in a place like that.”
“Marik protects him. To him, he's fulfilling his duty. If Malik enjoys it and he is safe, to Marik, that makes all the difference. Marik won't let anyone force themselves on his Light.”
Seto nodded. “Remember last Thanksgiving? Marik came to dinner all bruised and cut? Apparently, some fool thought it funny to refuse to let Malik go after Malik was finished doing his thing. The man was trying to force himself on Malik. Apparently a fight ensued and Marik kicked the man's ass. Of course, I asked him what he did with the man and he grinned, holding the Millennium Rod. He said he gave the man a vacation…meaning he sent his soul to the Shadow Realm.”
“Marik takes his role as protector very seriously.”
“How is Bakura these days?”
“Bakura? He's fine. He and Marik are up to no good like usual. He's planning a good supper tonight. I said I'd be home at a decent time.”
“Oh, you had plans?”
Ryou looked Seto in the eye. “Well, Bakura sounded really excited about making me dinner.”
“Oh. I wanted to know if you had plans tonight.”
“What do you have going on?”
“There's a movie premier that I was invited to attend. It's a private screening. I wanted to know if you wanted to come with me. We'll have to duck the paparazzi, but I'm sure we can get in.”
“What movie?”
Seto held up the invitation and handed it to Ryou.
Ryou's eyes widened. “I love this actor! And I was waiting for months for this to come out!”
Seto smiled. “It's a private screening, so only a few people chosen to attend. Would you want to come along with me, Ryou?”
Ryou looked at the invitation and up at Seto. `I want to go to this screening with Seto! But Bakura sounded so excited about making me dinner….then again, Bakura's ideas of making dinner usually involve a can of ravioli heated in the microwave….On the other hand, Bakura said he wanted to make a really nice dinner.”
“Ryou? It's up to you.”
Ryou looked up at the crystal blue eyes ahead of him…..

*************************************
Bakura read the recipe again for the fifth time as he smelled something burning. He rushed to the oven and pulled out the steak which was about to burn. Bakura examined it and grinned.
“Damn near lost it.”
Sizzling was heard beside him as the water for the noodles started boiling over. “Ra damn it!” He cursed as he rushed to the burner to turn down the heat. He stirred the noodles as the timer started ringing.
“The biscuits should be done this time!” Bakura said, opening the oven. The biscuits looked edible and that was good enough for him.
He made the biscuits from scratch. Batter from the biscuits dripped from the side of the bowl onto the counter. Flour was scattered over the counter and some had fallen to the floor.
“I want to make this dinner special for Ryou.”
Bakura looked at the clock. Where the hell was he? Ryou was late and dinner was going to be ready soon.
The yami set the table with the finest china. He set the table for two, including two taper candles in golden candle holders, which he had stolen a few years ago.
Wine glasses were ready for himself and his other half. The wine was set in the middle of the table.
Where the hell was he?
Bakura placed the steaks on the two plates and placed the buttered noodles beside the steaks. He added a little garnish to the steak and placed the biscuit beside the noodles.
The yami placed Ryou's plate in front of his empty seat.
Where was he?
Bakura set his plate at his seat and poured himself and his absent hikari a half glass of wine.
He turned off the oven and burners in the kitchen and lit the candles at the table.
Quickly, he admired himself in the living room mirror, his new outfit hugging his body.
“Bakura, you sexy thing, you!” he grinned as he ran his fingers through his spiky hair.
He turned out the lights and waited…….
……..
…….
…….

And waited…..
……..
…….
…….
`If Ryou comes home any later, I'll have to microwave this dinner to heat it up.'
Bakura leaned his chin against his hand and stared at the door……
………
………
……..
And stared…..
………
………
………
`RING!' went the telephone.
Bakura reached over and picked up the receiver. “Bakura residence.”
[Hi, yami, it's Ryou.]
“Ry? Where are ya? I have dinner all ready for you.”
[I'm sorry, yami. I won't be able to make it tonight.]
“But…..What do you mean you can't make it? I made a kick-ass dinner for the two of us.”
[I'm sorry, yami. I'll make it up to you. I've gotta go. Don't wait up for me! Bye!]
“Goodbye.”
Bakura set the receiver back on the cradle. He sat at his chair and watched the candles flicker.
`I worked my ass off to get dinner ready for Ryou……and look at this mess.'
Bakura narrowed his eyes. “I'm not even hungry anymore! Fuck it!”
Bakura blew out the taper candles and waited in the darkness for his other half to return.
