Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Rasberry Swirl ❯ The angel and the Elder ( Prologue )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Oracle: Hey all! I hated my original beginning of the fic, so if any of you read the first chapter of "honest angels", IGNORE IT! I'm starting clean…sort of.

Kaiba: hardly. You still have the same storyline, and I'm STILL going to-

Oracle: KAIBA! Do not give the story away!

Disclaimer: hi. I don't own YuGiOH. Thanks.

"So who've you got for me this time, sir? Easier than my last one, I hope."

A young looking girl sat cross-legged in the middle of a large room, in front of a shadowed old man. She made a distinctive face at the thought of whatever she was referring to.

"I can't say that it will be easier, I'm afraid. It might in fact be a little more complicated than your last" the elder man said with a bit of pity in his voice.

"With all due respect, I don't think that that's possible, sir. Though you certainly do pick the tough ones, don't you?" the girl smiled when she said this, as if recalling times past.

"I certainly do. But you always handle things so well." The man replied, "You'll have to be the judge on how hard this one is."

He handed her two photographs.

"A double charge? Sir. . ." she started. But she broke off when she looked at the second picture. "This is the kid from the castle! The one who saved my last charge!"

"That he is. But that's not the only way you may know him. Look at his necklace," The man said.

She did so. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Is that…?"

"It is," the man replied before she could finish her sentence.

"But sir! I can't-" She started,

"Of course you can. He remembers nothing, fo now. If you trigger something, it's your own fault," he said, cutting her off, "These are your charges, you must watch them. By the way. . . this one wants to kill the little one."

"WHAT?!" she cxlaimed. "you expect me to protect them from whatever want to kill them, AND from eachother?!"

"You can handle it. You've done it before."

"yeah, and one of the guys from the last time I did it, whom, may I add, I didn't part on friendly terms with, is there too!"

"Not just one. But you were friendly with the other, it shouldn't matter too much."

"You are LYING to me."

"I never lie."

"Oh, for the love of. . .I cannot do this! I mean, I'm sure I CAN, but. . .well, just because I'm the best doesn't mean I should have to do all this," the girl was obviously very exasperated by now.

"You're not the best yet. You're a guardian, this is the sort of the job we trained you for. Now GO, you have work to do." The old man said firmly, signaling that the discussion was over.

The girl stood up and glared at the man, and then turned and talked towards the door.

"Oh, and one more thing," the old man said, as an afterthought, "Try not to cause TOO much trouble, Azusa."

Azusa rolled her eyes and left the room, muttering.

"I can't believe he's making me do this. . ." she said to herself, and then walked off to find her charges.

Oracle: didn't get much information from that, did you? But you got enough. . .

Kaiba: please review, otherwise oracle will be sad and when she's sad she comes and clings on me and malik and ryou and. . .

Oracle: they get the picture, now shut up.

Now it's time for some irrelevant lyrics! (later on in the story I'm going to put lyrics here that are relevant to the chapter, but there are no songs of that sort for this, so…yes!)

Early in the mornin', rising to the street,

light me up that cigarette and I'll strap shoes on my feet

got to find the reason, reason things went wrong

got to find the reason why my money's all gone

I got a dalmation and I can still get high

I can play the guitar like a mother fuckin' riot

well, life is too short so love the one you got

'cuz you might get run over or ya might get shot

never start static I gots get it off my chest

never had to battle with my bulletproof vest

Sublime-what I got.

Because that's the song I'm listening to right now. Not in the least bit relevant. Thank you. Goodnight. *bows*
