Ch.16: Mall Madness
The next morning, the early rays of the sun peeked through the thick, gray clouds. One of the rays touched the game shop and through a window, where it hit the small sleeping figure. Yugi lazily opened his eyes and blinked a few times before covering his eyes with his arm. It took a moment or two for him to fully wake up. Around this time, Yugi looked over and noticed his other arm was under Atemu's neck, who's still asleep.
`It's a good thing he's still asleep.' Yugi thought, when his alarm clock went off.
“BRRINNGGG!!”
The reaction Atemu showed was priceless. He immediately woke up and quickly looked over to the clock.
“WHAT, IN THE NAME OF RA, WAS THAT FOR!!” He shouted at the clock as it continued to ring out.
Yugi crawled out and walked over to the clock and tapped the off button, which stopped the ringing. He looked over to the ex-Pharaoh, who seemed confused by all of this.
“Atemu, this is called an alarm clock.” Yugi started to explain. “It's supposed to wake you up, and to shut it off, you have to tap this little button here.” He pointed to the small button. He nearly laughed at Atemu's annoyed expression.
Atemu smiled and shrugged it off, as Yugi walked over to his closet and searched around to find clothes that could fit Atemu. (A/N: Yugi is taking real good care of Atemu.) Atemu got out of bed and watched the younger one as he threw a few clothing items in the air. Yugi found a rectangular box and looked in it. When he did, he smiled and grabbed a black, sleeveless muscle shirt and black leather pants out of the box and handed to Atemu.
“Here, I think these will fit you.” Yugi said as the other took the clothes and looked it over. As he was doing so, Yugi quickly walked over and picked out his clothing of choice and ran to the bathroom.
Atemu watched this as the young teen disappeared behind the door. He shrugged and put on the clothes. When he was done, he looked over to a nearby, full length mirror and smiled with satisfaction. `Yugi has got some good taste in style.' He thought as he looked over and noticed two neck buckles and placed one around his neck.
Just then, Yugi came out of the bathroom, wearing a normal white T-shirt and faded blue jeans.
“You look nice Aibou.” Atemu said.
“Oh, thanks. You too.” Yugi replied as he felt his heart trying to burst out of his chest when he saw the outfit.
There was an odd silence between the two, until the phone rang. Yugi ran out of the room with intense speed.
“Wow. He's pretty fast.” Atemu said as he walked out of the room.
Yugi grabbed the phone and answered calmly. “Mouto residence.”
“Morning Yugi.” Kia said from the other line.
“Hey Kia, how's Kayra?” He asked.
“She's fine.” Kia answered. “She's cooking in the kitchen right now.”
“She knows how to cook?” He asked curiously.
“I think so, but I'm not sure if she is used to cook with a gas oven and other things like that, but I trust her.” She said. “How's the Pharaoh by the way?”
“He's fine, just getting use to things here.” He said as he remembered the alarm clock incident.
“I was thinking that we should show the `exchange students' around the city, starting with the mall.” She said.
“Sounds like a good idea.” He said. “When and where should we meet you?”
“Around 12:30 at the food court.” She replied.
“Alright, we'll see you there then.” He said as both of them hung up.
“Who was that Aibou?” Atemu said as he walked over to the younger's side.
“Kia, a friend of mine, invited us to the mall this afternoon.” Yugi explained.
“What's a mall?” Atemu said.
“It's a place that has different shops.” Yugi said.
Atemu was still lost.
“You'll see when we get there.” Yugi said with a smile.
~A few hours later~
“Atemu! Time to go!” Yugi called while Atemu was reading a random book from one of the living room's bookselves.
Atemu placed the book down on a small coffee table and walked over to where Yugi was waiting for him.
“Ready?” Yugi asked, as the other gave him a nod.
They walked out of the shop and headed towards the city.
0000000000
Atemu was wide-eyed of the site of the city.
“Welcome to Domino Atemu.” Yugi said as he smiled at the other's reaction.
But a large city means huge crowds, and there were a few times that the two are almost separated. Atemu then grabbed Yugi's hand and tighten his grip. Yugi did the same, though he flushed a little, as they battled their way to the mall. (A/N: Hmm…)
They finally reached the mall, but like the city, the place was really crowded. They have to use the stairs, since both the elevator and escalators are filled with people. When they finally reached the third floor, they headed to the food court.
“So this is the mall you mentioned.” Atemu said looking around. “Is it always this crowded?”
“Not really.” Yugi said. “To tell you the truth, this is probably the first time I've seen this place so crow- OW!” He shouted when someone stepped on his foot.
“You alright?” Atemu asked concerned.
“I'm fine.” Yugi said as he smiled to reassure the other.
Then they heard screams coming from the food court, where they're suppose to meet Kia and Kayra. They pushed to the entrance and saw Malik, Ryou, Kia, their look-alikes, Moukaba, and Alysia. Both Moukaba and Alysia were screaming.
“Over here you guys!” Ryou called as he waved his hand in the air.
The two walked over to their table.
“Hey! Looks like they didn't mess you up at the lab.” Bakura said when Atemu came up.
“Thankfully.” Atemu said. “And I see you're getting used to this new era?”
“Used to it? I'm living the high life here!” Marik said as he snaked his arm around Malik's waist.
“Would be wise not to ask.” Bakura said as Atemu nodded.
“Maybe we should go to the park or beach instead.” Kia said when Alysia and Moukaba stopped screaming.
“You win.” Moukaba said as he rubbed his neck.
“You did good though.” Alysia commented. “Anywhere is better then this mad house is fine with me.” She said to Kia, then she took a sip of soda.
Everyone agreed, but before they left, they heard some other couple shouting.
“I told you that this was a stupid idea!” Said a guy with long black hair that is tied up in a ponytail and emerald-green eyes, which had a black mark going down on one of them.
“Well sorry Duke, I didn't know it was going to be this crowded!” Said another guy who has brown hair, which sticks at an angle.
“Looks like they're at it again.” Malik said as he rolled his eyes.
“Hey Tristan, Duke, over here!” Yugi called, waving both of his arms in the air, which made his older look-alike smile.
Even when they're coming their way, the two still fought, which gave everyone a sweat drop.
“Three, two, one…” Malik said under his breath as Duke smacked his lips to Tristan's, which calmed them down. When they parted they were nice to each other, as if the fight has never happened.
“You two make such a great couple.” Alysia said, smiling at them.
The four out of the eight shrugged and looked at their look-alikes, who were either have interest, curiosity, or both from that little scene.
“So, to the beach then?” Kia said. “I've never been there yet.”
Everyone agreed.
“We'll hang with you guys another time.” Tristan said.
“Alright then.” Kia said as she got up, followed by Kayra.
Alysia grabbed Moukaba's hand as they ran towards the crowd.
“Well don't just stand there!” Alysia yelled. “Get your asses in gear!”
“Such foul language for someone her age.” Kayra said.
“So, you were never Miss Perfect either.” Bakura said, which he got rewarded with a bump on his head.
