Ch.20: Got Plants?

 

The next day, around noon, everyone was at the park, helping Kia and Kayra planting flowers.

 

“Remind me again why we're doing this?” Malik said as he looked over to Kia, who is planting lavender.

 

“Because the city council, surprisingly, asked Grandma if we were interested to help out the park.” Kia responded.

 

“I know that, but why are we helping?” He asked, while digging a hole.

 

“One, I know you from school. Two, you guys live close by. Three, because I don't know anyone else who would put up with this sort of project.” She said as she carried some tulips.

 

“Riighhtt” Malik said, annoyed, as he continued to dig, then he looked over at Marik, who was digging a bigger hole. “Hey Marik! How you holden' up?”

 

“I'm holden' up quite fine thank-you, there's nothing I like more then to dig this… damn… hole!” Marik said as he beat the ground with his shovel.

 

“At least your not the one carrying the trees.” Tristan said, as he and Duke carried over a small cherry blossom, which hasn't been in bloom yet, over to Malik.

 

~Alysia's Place~

“OH SHIT! I OVER SLEPT!” She shouted, which startled all of the snakes, which were sleeping up til now. She quickly got out of bed and got dress, then she went into the kitchen, wearing a sleeveless forest green shirt and a pair of jeans. She noticed that she has a message on her phone; she pressed the play button while making lunch for her snakes.

 

“Uh, this is Moukaba, umm… I was wondering, if you're not busy, if you would like to go see a movie or something? I got to go, my brother and his puppy just walked in. Bye.”

 

“Message recorded at 12:45 a.m.” Said the machine.

 

She smiled and looked at the clock, which read 1:27 p.m., and grabbed her black bag, placed a few items in, and started out for the door.

 

“I'll be back soon.” She said to Lime. “Go ahead and bite any intruder who have the balls to get in.” Then she walked out the door, locked it, and headed towards the Kaiba mansion.

 

~Back at the Park~

“Well, that's done.” Kia said as she looked over at the butterfly bushes that she had planted. She looked over at what everyone else was doing.

 

Marik and Malik are planting their fifth tree, Duke and Tristan were bringing in the mulch that the city council brought in, and Kayra was finishing planting a small rose bushes.

 

She looked over to the pond area, where Bakura and Ryou were cleaning the area. Bakura's cussing can be heard, but no one paid any mind about it.

 

Then Yugi and Atemu came into view from behind the bushes.

 

“Hey Yugi! Hey Atemu!” She called, which brought everyone's attention.

 

Yugi waved and grabbed the other's hand as they ran towards the group.

 

“Hey everyone, sorry we're late.” Yugi said as he watched everyone.

 

“Not a problem.” Kia said as she looked around.

 

Tristan and Duke were arguing again, Marik and Malik are just finishing they're last tree, and the rest are just doing what they did when they arrived.

 

“Is there anything we can do?” Yugi asked.

 

“There is actually.” Kia said. “In the green house, next to the shop, there should be a bunch of water lilies. Could you bring those to the pond area over there?” She pointed out to the pond.

 

At that moment, Bakura slipped on something and landed backwards in the pond. The site almost made everyone chuckle.

 

“SHUT UP!” He shouted when he felt something in his shirt. He looked only to get slapped by a fish tail, which made Marik and Malik holler out in laughter.

 

Atemu could barely hold his in, seeing how Bakura is cursing and threatening the fish when it escaped. Yugi, on the other hand, was laughing and held onto the other's arm for support. Kia went to her knees and held onto her sides, trying to control her laughing fit.

 

“W-we're go-going to ge-get those flowers n-now.” Yugi said between his laughter and walked towards the shop with Atemu as his support. Atemu, however, controlled his laughter, but couldn't help but chuckle in his throat.

 

As they reached the shop, they asked Mrs. Moonshadow, who pointed to the shed.

 

“You could use a wheel barrel to carry those lilies, they're pretty heavy you know.” She said as she continued to water her indoor plants.

 

“Thanks Mrs. Moonshadow.” Yugi said as he and Atemu went to the shed.

 

~Shed~

“I don't think I laughed that hard in so long.” Yugi said as he remembered Bakura's little quarrel with the fish.

 

“I nearly forgotten how amusing he can be when he's like that.” Atemu said as he found what they were looking for and brought it out.

 

~Greenhouse~

“This might take a while.” Yugi said as he tried to lift the plastic pot that the lilies were in. Atemu helped, but even he had trouble lifting the thing up.

 

“I think you might be right.” He said, which made Yugi laugh.
