Ch.41: New Challenge
Seth was only meters away from the ship. `Those fools can't possibly catch up with me.' He thought until he heard a `bang' from a few feet away. `Impossible!' He growled and ran much faster towards the ship. `Stubborn mortals! Including that ass, Pharaoh.'
~The Group~
The next time you crash into a garbage can, make sure you hit the brake, otherwise the engine wouldn't die on us.” Bakura said as he rubbed his forehead.
“Well, maybe I should let you drive next time huh?” Alysia said. “We need to get there as fast as possible if we're going to beat the crap of that bastard before he touches anyone.” She tried to fix the engine.
Atemu got up and walked away from the group.
“And where do you think you're going?” Kayra said noticing his leaving without anyone's attention.
“I can't stay here knowing that Yugi's well-being is on the line.” He said.
“I know.” She said, knowing what Seth said is a threat that could, without questions asked, happen. “But you need to calm down and have a little faith that things will get better.”
“I guess your right.” He said as he clenched his fist. “But thinking of what he will to Yugi… it's… I don't know. But I do know, if I don't stop him…” He paused, looking down at his feet as he tried to fight back the tears.
Kayra knew that, for the first time, he was afraid.
“Live damnit!” Alysia shouted as she tried to start up the van. “Come on! You huge huck of junk metal!” She slammed on the pedal and the vehicle stared up. “IT LIVES!!”
“Enough with the drama and more on the action.” Marik said as he and Bakura jumped into the van. Atemu and Kayra followed suit.
“Okay, that was a huge waste of time.” Alysia said as a smirk appeared. “So now we have to make up for lost time and double it!”
`I have a bad feeling about this.' The four thought as Alysia hit the pedal to the metal, again.
The vehicle was going crazy in the alley ways, bull dozing anything that was in it's way, even metal fences. When they finally got out of the alleys and onto the pier, they were only a few feet way from the ship.
“Hey we made it!” Alysia said.
But they noticed Seth getting closer to the entrance.
“Damnit!” Alysia said, not believing that their efforts were for nothing.
“Alysia! Drive up in front of him to cut him off from entering!” Marik said.
“I didn't know you could think things through.” Alysia said as she went as fast as the van could take and stopped between Seth and the ship.
“How else I got the title of commander of the pharaoh's army.” Marik said proudly as Atemu got out of the van.
“What the-“ Bakura started to say as Atemu stood between the van and Seth.
“So you made it.” Seth said in a bored tone. “But you still have to find Yugi, and there are a lot of rooms.”
“I know.” Atemu said. “Guys, I want you to go inside and find the others and hide them.” He looked over at the group, who understood, and got out of the vehicle.
“Hey Atemu.” Alysia said as she handed him a dagger. “Use this, but I want it back, got it.”
Atemu nodded and faced Seth again.
“So it's just you and me.” Seth said.
Atemu stayed silent as he gripped the dagger in his hand.
“Are we just going to stand here all night or are we going to do something?” He complained.
“Just shut the hell up.” Atemu said in a dangerous tone.
“Or what?” Seth said.
He should have kept his mouth shut.
The eye of Ra appeared on Atemu's forehead.
“You may do whatever pleases you with me, but leave Yugi and everyone else alone.” He said, as the eye grew brighter.
“Going soft are ya!” Seth said mockingly.
Then, without warning, both of them were surrounded by the shadow realm.
“I see you still have your shadow magic.” Seth said.
“I use it as a last resort.” Atemu said as the eye disappeared.
“What are you going to do now? Trap me here for all eternity?” Seth said sounding amused.
“No.” Atemu said as he held up the dagger. “We're going to fight… to the death.” He had absolutely had no emotion when he said this, which made Seth become a bit more serious and put up his defense.
“Scared?” Atemu said.
Seth didn't say anything.
~Ship~
“How the living hell are we going to find them!” Alysia shouted as she and the others stepped over sleeping bodies.
“I have two choices.” Kayra said.
“One.” Marik said.
“We could bust down doors of each room.” Kayra said.
“Or…” Bakura said, not up for busting down anything, especially over a hundred doors.
“Or, we could go over to the lobby and find a book or a list to where they're staying.” Kayra said.
Everyone agreed on the second choice and went up to the lobby area and went behind the check in/out desk.
“Room 375, third floor.” Marik announced as he held up a book.
“Alright.” Alysia said. “Let's get going! Atemu said to find and hide them.”
“Speaking of Atemu, I wonder how he's doing?” Bakura said.
“Getting rid of Seth I suppose.” Marik said.
“All I know is that he better be alive.” Alysia said as they entered an elevator.
