This is the third time today I have the urge to finish typing this story. In fact, this is the last chapter of my story and I’ll try to complete Paper Flowers before Halloween. So, enjoy.

Epilogue

~Few years later~

“Atemu wake up!” Yugi said shaking the other.

“Huh? What is it?” Atemu said still half asleep.

“It’s Christmas!” Yugi said cheerfully. “And it’s snowing outside, see.” He pointed at his window.

Atemu got up and looked out, and sure enough, there were small white particles coming down slowly from the heavens and the whole street is covered in a white blanket of ice.

“Looks like a storm hit last night.” He said.

“Yep.” Yugi said.

Atemu smirked and said. “Well, we better hurry up and get dressed if we want to be the firsts one out there.” He smiled at Yugi’s childish antics as they both quickly got ready.

~Minutes later~

Yugi, dressed in a dark purple jacket, black pants, black snow boots, and a light purple pair of gloves, jumped out from the glass doors and landed on the newly fallen snow.

“Oh man! I almost forgot how cold winter is!” Yugi said humorly. “Come on Atemu!”

“I’m perfectly fine right here.” Atemu said leaning against the wall.

Yugi cutely pouted. “You’re no fun.” He said.

“Hey, what about last night?” Atemu said with a smirk.

“Just because you won the game of dominance, again, does not mean you have to back out on a day like this!” Yugi protested.

“And your point is?” Atemu said enjoying the other’s antics.

Yugi didn’t respond and walked towards a tree.

Atemu watched as Yugi went behind the tree. ‘He’s not fooling me with that trick again.” He thought as he waited a few minutes, which seemed to be longer to him, and walked over. He scooped up a good amount of snow and made a snowball. ‘This is payback for last year.’ He thought with a smirk as he slowly and carefully crept towards the tree and to find no one. ‘The move around the tree trick. Come on, you should know by now I’m a fast learner.’

“Hey Atemu!” Alysia called out.

Atemu looked over and saw the gang. “Hey!” He said with a wave. “I see you guys managed to drag Seto with you again.”

“Shut up!” Seto said grumpily.

“Be nice.” Moukaba said as he draped his arm around Alysia’s waist.

“So what’s going on?” Atemu asked.

“Were doing a gift exchange over at Kiaba’s place.” Kayra said as she held Kia close to her chest.

“Right now?” Atemu said.

“Not right now, but we were heading down to the pizza joint for lunch, and we were wondering if you could join.” Ryou said.

“Sounds good.” Atemu said as he walked around the tree.

“What the hell are you doing?” Marik said.

“Looking for Yugi, he went behind this tree…” Atemu said when Bakura cut in.

“So that he could attack you with a snowball like last year.” He and Marik started to laugh.

Atemu stood there annoyed and Alysia was about to beat the crap out of them when two snowballs came out of nowhere and directly hit them in the face. Atemu looked to where the snowballs came from and saw Yugi in the bushes.

“Now that was funny!” Seto said laughing as so did everyone else, except for the victims and their lovers who were trying to hide there laughter.

Atemu still had a snowball in hand, but dropped it on the ground as Yugi came over.

“Great aim Yugi!” Alysia said as she tried to calm down.

Atemu wrapped his arms around the small teen. “She’s right you know.” He said.

“I’ve been practicing.” Yugi said as he nuzzled the other’s chest.

“Aww.” Kayra and Kia said in unison.

“’Ey! Ya comin’ or what?” Jou said. “All of us are starving over here.”

“What happened to ‘I’m so full I can’t eat another bite’ from breakfast.” Alysia said.

Yugi and Atom looked at the group. “We’re coming! Just let me tell Grandpa.” Yugi said as he quickly ran inside.

Atemu walked up to the group with his hands in his pockets.

“So, are you going to pop the question?” Malik asked.

“After the gift exchange on the way back from the shop.” Atemu said as he took out a small white box with a gold ribbon.

“Did Grandpa Mouto give you the okay?” Kia asked.

Atemu nodded as he put the box away.

“Okay! Ready!” Yugi said as he ran up to the group.

~Two hours later~

“Time to exchange gifts!” Kia said cheerfully as she held up a gift.

“No more sweets for you sweet.” Kayra said as she held her sugar high love by the waist.

“Open this one!” Kia said handing they gift, which is a small dark blue box with a white ribbon.

Kayra took the gift and opened it. Her eyes grew wide as she took out a yang half medallion with Kia’s picture in the back. “It’s beautiful” She said.

“I got the other half.” Kia said as she showed the ying half of the medallion with Kayra’s picture on the back.

“My turn!” Moukaba said as he handed a medium-sized rectangular box to Alysia. She took the box and noticed that it felt heavy.

“Damn Moukaba. What did you get?” She said as she opened the box, when she became speechless.

“You always said that wanted a katana. So…” Moukaba started to say when Alysia hugged him.

“I LOVE IT!!” She said.

“Great , just what we need.” Marik said. “To get our ass kicked by a girl with a sword.”

Alysia glared and said. “Let’s have a test run shall we?” She gave out a creepy grin.

“I think its Ryou’s turn!” Kia said as she handed a small light blue box to Ryou.

He opened the box and held up a mistletoe, which made Bakura lean over and claim the teens lips.

“Couldn’t find a gift for him again?” Kayra said but Bakura completely ignored her.

As the gift exchange processed, Atemu fiddled around his pocket that held his gift in.

“Hello! Earth to Atemu! Come in Atemu!” Yugi said waving his hands in front of the other’s face.

Atemu came back to reality and looked at the smiling teen as he handed a small gold box to him.

“This is from me.” Yugi said.

Atemu opened the small box, which contained a thin chain bracelet with a small half of a heart. He held up the bracelet and looked over at Yugi questionably, who had the other half on a necklace. He remembered from a few years ago back at the shop where he saw a couple who did the same exact thing.

“Read what it says.” Yugi said smiling.

Atemu was a bit confused by this statement, until he looked closely at his half. It read: ‘I will love you for all eternity, and beyond. -- Yugi’ He smiled at the other as they stared at each other, while everyone else were either opening other gifts, shouting, fighting, talking, or kissing.

~An hour later~

When everyone said their good-byes and left, Yugi and Atemu walked back to the game shop hand-in-hand.

“You’re really quiet this evening.” Yugi said as he looked up at Atemu.

“Just had a few things on my mind.” Atemu admitted.

“What kind of things?” Yugi asked.

Atemu looked over at the bench and lead them over there. “There’s something I need to ask you of.” He said as he mentioned Yugi to sit down. (A/N: All of you should know what’s gonna happen.)

Yugi is a bit confused by the other’s actions, but sat down on the bench.

Atemu dug into his pocket and grabbed hold of the little box and gave it to Yugi. “Merry Christmas.” He said as he watched the other opened his gift.

Yugi had an amazed, shocked expression when he saw the ring in the box, which was a silver band with an amethyst gem in the center. He looked up at Atemu as he leaned down on one knee.

“Yugi would you marry me?” Atemu asked.

Yugi smiled as tears of joy were about to pour, but didn’t. “YES!” He responded as he tackle/hug the other to the ground, where both of them laughed.
