SILENCE

Violet Eyes: I feel so sad right now, Kuri-kun's not talking to me because I...did something

bad...and he is very mad at me, Mother and Father are mad too, so I am all alone here, and

in these moments of silence, I decided to write a fic, a sub-fic that is like an addition which

gives more insight into how the characters feel about Yugi's death. Its a songfic to one of my

favourite songs, 'Silence' by Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan (sp?)

This takes place between 'My Light, Your Darkness,' and 'Bring Me back to Life,' it starts after

the funeral and is on Jounouchi's thoughts and distress as he mourns this huge loss...

Give me release

witness me

I am outside

give me peace

Jounouchi pulled his silver Toyota Echo into the driveway, turned off the ignition and walked off

into the house. He tried to look normal, his face was contorted with a look of normality and general

humor, but his eyes were the opposite, they showed signs of a man, a man whose lost a part of

himself, and is drowning in a pool of darkness and despair, his soul tortured by the inner demon

that is grief. A few moments of silence passed...

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

and I wanted to believe

that I'd get caught up

when the rage in me subsides

...until he began to sob, why did Yugi have to go? WHY? He was so angry he picked up a pillow

and hurled it at a mirror, where it hit and the mirror shattered into a thousand pieces, just like his

heart.

Passion choke the flower

'til she cries no more

possessing all the beauty

hungry still for more

He flunked out onto the couch, his sadness which he had been careful not to show during the

funeral, maybe a few tears, was unleashed. He buried his face in a cushion and cried his heart

out, for his forever gone best friend, whose gentleness and purity will never be seen again, for all

the times they had spent together, laughing, joking and playing Duel Monsters. Jounouchi sat up

and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, his eyes all red and wet.

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

and I wanted to believe

that I'd get caught up

when the rage in me subsides

He realised, as the water poured out out the tap and gushed into the glass clutched in his white,

trembling hand, he hadn't taken his Duel Monsters with him, it sat there, on the kitchen bench,

untouched and undisturbed.

I can't help this longing

comfort me

I can't hold it all in

if you won't let me

He walked over to it, and started looking through it.

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

and I wanted to believe

that I'd get caught up

when the rage in me subsides

He stopped when he had seen a particular card, Time Wizard. More tears fell out of his eyes, he

was truly sad for his friend, and you couldn't just go and buy a best friend from the local corner

shop, this card reminded him of Yugi so much, that he then put it in a silver frame and placed it on

the table.

I am sinking

in this silence

in this white wave

in this silence

I believe

He sat down again on the sofa, and put his head in his hands, this wasn't going to be easy for

him, even more tears slid out of his already red and swollen eyes, his hands tangled in his golden

honey brown locks, his misery getting the better of him.

I am sinking

in this silence

in this white wave

in this silence

I believe

He suddenly pulled his head out of his hands, and glanced around at his place, everything

reminded him of Yugi, heck, even the wallpaper reminded him of Yugi, it was a nice, sky

blue, his favourite colour. Jounouchi sat there, glancing around, until he gets mad and

throws his glass of water at the wall, where it shattered and the clear liquid flowed freely onto the

floor.

I have seen you

in this white wave

you are sailing

you are breathing

in this white wave

I am free

Jounouchi would have given anything to hear from Seto at this very moment, to have his

embrace, and to be free, free of this bitter sorrow, to hear him call and give sympathy

but he knew better, Seto would never return his feelings, and he would be stuck, stuck

with this schoolboy crush on Japan's richest man. He was in a one sided relationship

and he knew it, but yet, he still loved him, still wanted him.

As he sat there, he realised that he was in complete silence, nothing but the steady droplets of

water as they fell off the wall. The silence gave the Katsuya place an eerie, deathly aura.

I have seen you

in this white wave

you are sailing

you are breathing

in this white wave

I am free

And where were his parents? They were in Paris, seeing the sights and being happy. He was

currently, all alone, his already broken heart took another blow when he realised this, and he just

sat there, in the eerie silence, grieving for his best friend, his head in his hands yet again.

In this silence i am free......
