Isis lay on Malik's bed looking up at the ceiling. She smiled as she saw Malik and Marik rushing to get dressed for school from the corner of her eye.

"It's already past ten y'all. Might as well stay here and not go to school." She tried to reason with them.

"Are you crazy," Malik said back, "My sister would kill me."

Isis sat up and crossed her legs onto the bed, "Oh come on. We could have a lot of fun, you know."

"Tempting." Marik said as he threw her clothes at her, "Get dress."

Isis frowned, "Fine." She said as she got up to get dress for the prison they call an education center.

~~

Lavie smiled at Isis as she opened her locker getting her stuff out for third period, "Glad you could make it." She said with a laugh.

Isis rolled her eyes, "Yeah right. I've got detention for being late."

Lavie closed her locker and they started off toward their next period, "Good, I have a detention too."

"What you do? Breathe?" Isis said laughing. Lavie was always getting into trouble and none of the teachers hesitated to give her a detention for even the smallest of offenses.

"I carved `unacceptable language' into the desk, the teacher desk." She said as though it was a small as chewing gum.

"Oh." Isis smiled and shook her head, "I think you like to go to detention."

Lavie smiled, "Well, it is where I met Bakura and he is always there, so," she shrugged leaving the sentence to linger.

They walked into their classroom and immediately went over to Satire's desk.

"Hey." Satire said to them as they smiled a goofy smile at her, "What?" she asked confused by the gleaming faces of her two best friends.

"You naughty girl, we heard about what you and Joey did with Seto at his office." Isis said with a big smile.

Satire's mouth dropped, "Can anything stay a secret?"

Lavie shook her head, "Not in this group."

"Obviously." She said back as she took out her binder and opened it to do her mourning class work.

"Hey, I haven't seen Zaire today have you?" Lavie asked.

Satire shook her head as she stayed focus on her work, "Nope. I was wondering if she's O.K. I sure she is though."

"I guess if she was closer to us we would care more." Isis said.

Satire looked up from her assignment, "I am worried."

"Well don't show it too much." She responded sarcastically.

Satire sighed, "What do you want me to do? Call her?"

Isis placed her hands up in defense, "I was just saying. I hope you don't act like that when I don't come to school."

Lavie laughed, "You don't come to school so often we just decided to ignore it."

"Gee, thanks." She said before the teacher walked in and made everyone take a seat so she could begin the day.

~~

Yami felt his heart begin to race faster with nervousness. The day had gone by quickly and it was time for their first rehearsal for the play. He hadn't seen Zaire all day, but he knew she would be here. She had to. She really worked hard to get the part.

Yami smiled when looked up and saw Yugi sitting in the audience next to a girl with that had soft silver eyes and short black hair with golden streaks. He waved at him and blew him a kiss. Yugi caught it and returned the favor. The girl beside him giggled and whispered something into his ear making Yugi blush.

Yami smiled, `That must be Amaka.' He thought to himself and turned back to the teacher as she struggled to get everyone's attention.

"People, settle down and we can get started. Now is everyone here?" she said as she searched the crowd of children.

"Zaire isn't here." Yami stated as he looked around for the tangerine-haired beauty.

Mayline perked at the information, "I'll take her spot." She volunteered.

Sensi-Makoso frowned, "No, no, I still think she would be best. Does anyone have any idea where she could be? Any one know her phone number so we can call?"

Yami felt his heart flutter. It was his entire fault. He knew it. She wasn't coming because of what happened the day before. She couldn't face him. Yami sighed, `But I really need to talk to her.' he thought sadly.

~~

Zaire stared at the script that lay before her. Sensi-Makoso had given a script to every one who made the cut. She was supposed to be at the rehearsal right now, but…'Yami will be there.' She thought to herself.

She sighed as she hugged her knees closer to her chest. Her eyes were blood shot from lack of sleep due to all the crying she had been doing. She sniffed and trembled slightly. She hated that dream. She thought the memories had left her.

`Guess not, but why now. Is it because of these emotions?' she sighed again as she ran her hands through her hair and stood up wearily. She walked over to her window and opened it letting in the fresh afternoon air.

"I should go. I can't hide from everything that scares me. I'll have to face it one day. I'll have to face the truth and reality of this. I just wish that…" she closed her eyes and let a stray tear fall leaving a wet trail down her cheek.

She drew in a large breath and headed toward the bathroom to get washed up. Now that she was up she might as well go and face him. She needed to see him any way; there was no denying that.

~~

Sensi-Makoso cried out with frustration, "We must get started. We are already twenty-five minutes behind schedule. Does anyone, anyone at all know how to contact Zaire?"

"Here I am Sensei." Said a voice from the doorway. Everyone turned to the entrance and watched as Zaire descended the stairs, "I'm sorry for the trouble."

Sensi-Makoso just shook her head, "No, no. It's fine as long as you are here."

Zaire nodded and took her place beside Yami. They gave each other a quick glance and blushed lightly.

The rehearsal went by quickly. It was mostly information about the play and the set up, characters and their roles, the more `mature' part was just a long kiss scene between Jasmine and Aladdin.

Once the `class' was over, Yami and Zaire headed over to Yugi and Amaka. Zaire smiled as she approached the two. Amaka and she shared a friendly embrace and a peck on each cheek.

"You know each other?" Yugi asked.

They nodded. "Yeah we've become good friends." Amaka responded.

"How do you know Yugi?" Zaire asked her.

Amaka smiled and blushed lightly, "Yami and he are taking me to the dance."

Zaire felt her heart fall to the pit of her stomach, "Oh." She managed to get out.

Yami looked to her and could see the look of hurt and betrayal upon her face, "Zaire…um…can I talk to you about something?"

Zaire looked to him and shook her head, "No…um, sorry…I…I…um…have to go…to work…I found a job…work is where I should be…now…yeah…O.K…bye." she stuttered feeling a bit dizzy. She turned and headed out the building.

Yami closed his eyes and shook his head, "Yugi, I'll meet you back at the house." He said as he started toward Zaire.

"Where you going?" Yugi asked.

Yami turned back to him, "I'll be there shortly, I promise." He said and ran after Zaire.

~~

"Ryou, where are you?" Lavie said as she entered the house. She frowned at the garbage that adorned the floor, "I hope your aren't here because if you are you are truly slacking."

"Ever think of helping me?" Came a British reply from the backroom.

Lavie squealed, "Ryou!" she said as she ran to the room and tackled the silver-haired boy to the floor, "You are so sexy, I could just fuck you right here right now.

Ryou laughed, "Well, too bad. I have major cleaning to do. My father is coming home to night and that means you'll have to go back home as well, Love."

Lavie frowned and shook her head, "You want me to leave. You want to go back to that hellhole?"

"Just till my dad leaves again."

"And how long will that take?"

Ryou shrugged, "It's different each time."

"Why can't I stay?" she asked as she stood up and crossed her arms, "Why can't I meet your dad?"

Ryou sighed and closed his eyes, "I just don't think that'll be wise. He was pretty upset about Bakura."

"Because it was a guy. I'd be pissed too if I hadn't come to accept it, but I'm a girl and I think he'd like to meet me." She explained.

Ryou shrugged, "I just don't think you…um…are…um-"

"What he expects for his precious Ryou?" she completed for him.

Ryou shook his head, "No that's not what I meant."

Lavie turned with anger and headed toward the door.

"Lavie wait." Ryou said as he got up and went after her.

"NO. Just admit it Ryou, you are ashamed of me and don't want your father to see how low you've settled." She said as she felt angry tears pricking at her eyes.

Ryou shook his head frantically feeling tears also began to come, "No, that's not it. I just…I just…"

Lavie shook her head as she grabbed onto the doorknob, "You're just like them. I don't know why I expected different." She said as she opened the door.

"Hey." Bakura said as he stood outside the door. Lavie just brushed past him and continued to walk.

Bakura frowned with confusion. He walked in and saw Ryou looking to the floor, his eyes shadowed by his hair and crystal tears falling to the ground.

"Hikari?" Bakura asked cautiously, "What happened?"

Ryou shook his head and ran up the stairs shutting the door to his room and locking it.

Bakura sighed. He should probably go talk to Lavie first; Ryou could be pretty difficult at times.

~~

Lavie sat in the park as she fought back the tears that threatened to spill. She shook her head as she continued to tell herself that she would not cry over such childish things.

She looked up at the sound of crunching leaves and cracking sticks. She sighed as her eyes came in contact with Bakura's. She quickly wiped at her eyes to rid herself of any evidence of pain.

"Don't…I know your human." Bakura stated as he sat beside her.

She looked down at her lap and sniffed, "Sometimes I forget myself."

Bakura relaxed into the seat leaning his head back onto the warm wood, "You know, I remember when you and I use to always watch the sunset." He stated as he watched the clouds float by.

Lavie smiled slightly. Bakura always knew what to say, or better yet what not to say. He knew not to jump right into a conversation about why she was sad. She loved him even more for that.

"I remember that it became a tradition to watch the sunset and then it was `playtime'." He said smiling widely, "Since we spent our mourning practically yelling at each other, we spent our nights making every thing right."

Lavie smiled, still looking down at her lap, "Sounds nice."

Bakura nodded but frowned, "Yeah, but I still remember those couple of nights that you weren't with me. We had gotten into a fight and you left." He brought his head and looked down at his hands, "I was so afraid I had lost you."

Lavie looked toward him with interest, tears trimming her eyes, "What happened?"

"You don't want to know." He stated with little interest.

Lavie grabbed his arm, "Oh, but I do Bakura. You know I love hearing about our past."

Bakura smiled slightly and turned to her, "O.K. Well…

**Flashback**

"Can you stay out of my way?" Bakura said irritably as he bumped Lavie out of the way.

"Only if you tell me what your Ra damned problem is." Lavie said back equally irritated.

Bakura had been ignoring and acting distance from her the moment they left the hut to go on their routine tomb robbing. He didn't even so much as look at her when he spoke to her, which was scarce to none. He would tell her `here' or `move', but nothing that would actually strike up a conversation.

Becoming frustrated with his antics, Lavie went over to Bakura and stopped him in his prowling through the gold, taking his hand and looking deep within his eyes she asked, "Please tell me what is bothering you."

Bakura pulled his hand away, "Nothing." He stated going back to his pervious task.

"Fuck, Bakura," Lavie huffed, "WHAT is your fucking problem. I can't do anything about it if I don't know what to do."

Bakura continued to dig through the gold ignoring her.

Lavie shrugged her shoulders, "Fine," she stated, "I give up." With that she threw her hands in the air in a defeated gesture. She went back to her `post' to look at the jewels that were so nicely embedded within the walls.

"You would think after so long, old feelings would just disappear." Bakura randomly stated.

"What's this? We speak?" Lavie questioned sarcastically still facing the wall.

"What do you still feel for him?"

"For who?"

"Don't play dumb with me."

"Marik?"

Bakura stopped what he was doing to turn and stare at Lavie, "Who do the fuck do you think?"

"Don't get bitchy with me Bakura, I'll shove this tool right up your ass." Lavie fused picking up her dagger for emphasis.

"Do you still have feelings toward him?" Bakura repeated.

"Of course, he's my best friend." She stated in a `duh' matter.

Bakura growled in aggravation, "You know what I mean, that kiss didn't look like a `just best friends kiss' from my view."

Lavie turned her head to avert her eyes from Bakura, so this is what was bothering him. The truth finally comes out. "Is that what you are so angry about?"

"Answer my question first." Bakura said, he was losing his patients fast.

Lavie got up to walk toward Bakura, "You know I only have feelings for you."

"Hard to believe when I see that."

"One kiss?"

"You forget we got together by you cheating on him with me."

Lavie sighed, he had her there, she couldn't argue that. "So?"

Bakura turned back to `his' gold, "So he can't stay, they are both leaving, no questions asked."

Lavie's eyes widened, he couldn't do this, "Just because you have trust problems, means they have to suffer? They have no where to go Bakura." She shouted angrily

Bakura shot daggers at her with his eyes, "No, because you have a whorish problem, that is why they can't stay. Besides he left before and was just fine." Bakura stood up to stretch to signal the end of the conversation, but Lavie refused to let it end there,

"You can't do that Bakura. You have no right, who do you think you are?" she shouted.

Bakura walked away heading toward the exit, there was a lot of treasure in this tomb, he figured he get some nourishment first.

Lavie grabbed Bakura's arm, "Don't walk away from me."

Before either of them knew it, before it could be avoided, there was the sound of flesh on flesh action. Lavie raised her hand toward her face nursing the stinging pain and bruise developing there. Her eyes were wide with astonishment, never had Bakura touched her in such away as to bring harm to her.

Bakura was speechless to say the least, he never meant to hit her; he never ever wanted to hurt her in any way. Before he could form words in his mouth she was gone. He watched motionless as she fled from the tomb. What had he done?

~~

"I'm such an idiot." Bakura reprimanded himself as he stopped to catch his breath from all the running he'd been doing. The minute he had recomposed himself he took off after Lavie. He had no luck in finding her. He'd search everywhere he could think of, even the town, the one place he was most likely to get caught.

As the sun began to lower and the air cool, Bakura made his way home. He didn't know where else to look; he had no other places in mind as to where she could go.

As he reached the shed, he saw Marik making his way toward him with a look of worry. "Where's Lavie?" he asked noticing the girl's absence.

Bakura continued walking past the blonde simply ignoring his question. If she wasn't with him he obviously had no clue as to where she was. Stupid ditz.

"Yo, Bakura, what's your problem?" Marik asked confused by his actions.

"Nothing." Bakura stated monotone before entering the house and closing the door behind him leaving Marik in a state of bewilderment.

~~

Bakura sat on a tree limb, his back against the trunk and one leg hanging carelessly over the branch. He looked out into the distance. It had been five days ago that Lavie had left. Not a long time, but long enough for him to miss her intensely.

"Hey, Bakura!" Marik yelled from below.

Bakura glanced at him from the corner of his eyes, but never gave Marik any type of hint that he acknowledged his presence.

"I'm coming up!" he yelled again as he began to climb the tree. He sat on a branch not far from Bakura's, settling in and making himself comfortable.

"So…how are you?" he asked after a long silence.

Bakura sighed shifting in his seat but never answering.

"Come on… talk to me." Marik smiled.

"Just go away." Bakura finally said, still with his back to him.

Marik sighed, "What happened to us, Bakura? We used to be the best of friends."

"We wanted to bed the same girl." Bakura answered.

"But did we really let a girl come between us?"

"Yes."

"Well…now we don't have to. I have Isis and you have Lavie."

"Doesn't mean you still don't want Lavie."

"What makes you say that?"

"The way you look at her."

"I just be playing. It's a tradition. Can't rid yourself of a good thing." Marik stated as he closed his eyes smiling. "I truly don't have those feelings for her anymore."

"Doesn't matter anymore," Bakura huffed, "she's gone."

Marik crossed his arms and gave Bakura a stern look, "I'm shock at you, Bakura."

Bakura turned toward Marik raising an eyebrow, "Why?"

"For giving up so easily."

Bakura rolled his eyes, "I didn't give up, just stopped."

"Would've fooled me." Marik responded sarcastically.

"What do you me to do? There's nowhere else to look!" Bakura shouted growing irritated with Marik, "It's not like you helped any."

"I didn't hit her." Marik replied coolly.

Bakura didn't respond; he simply looked away.

Marik smirked; he unfolded his arms and started down the tree cautiously.

Bakura watched him through the corner of his eyes thinking over their conversation.

Once Marik got to the last branch, he jumped off landing skillfully on the ground. He looked up at Bakura, "Thought I'd just give you a couple things to think about so you wouldn't be up there wasting your life away." He shouted up at Bakura.

Once he realized Bakura wasn't going to say anything to the comment he added, "You should go rob a tomb or something, wouldn't want you getting rusty or me better than you, oh, Ra forbid if I should become better than you." He walked off laughing leaving Bakura to sulk alone once again.

~~

Bakura walked through the town with a hood over his head. He had been looking for Lavie all mourning. It was now the middle of the day and he was exhausted and pissed.

He continued to walk. He growled as a girl bumped into him.

She turned to him, "I'm so sorry, sir." Zaire apologized as she helped the man up.

He pulled his hand away from her sternly and glared daggers at her, "Don't touch me, you disgusting slave."

Zaire was taken back by the man's rudeness, "I said I was sorry." She stated sadly.

"Get away from me." He said as he pushed her back sending her back onto the ground. He snorted at her and proceeded on his way.

"Rudeness." Satire yelled at him as she helped Zaire up, "and I thought Lavie was the most disrespectful person I'd ever meet."

At that name Bakura stopped in mid-pace and hurried back over to the girls.

Satire dusted Zaire's outfit off riding it of the filth that clung to it.

"Did you say, Lavie?" came a husky voice from behind them.

Satire glared at the man, "What's it to you?"

Bakura growled, "Answer the question, Slave." He said as he took a hold of her arm.

"You have not right or command over me. Now release me at once." She ordered sounding just like Seto.

The hooded figure took out a dagger and pushed it into Satire's sensitive skin hiding it from all eyes, "I'll ask but one more time. Where's Lavie."

Satire whimpered the blade was becoming painful in her side.

"She's at the palace." Zaire answered becoming frightened for her friend's health.

Bakura turned to her pushing Satire away. He went over and grabbed Zaire by the front of her shirt.

She cried out as he jerked her forward. He removed his hood barely so only she could see his face. His silver looks shadowed his eyes, but she could still see that they were a dark brown.

She winced at his strength around her shirt; he held it tightly making it wind around her neck in a painful choke.

"She resides in the palace?" he restated the information in a form of a question making sure he heard right.

Zaire nodded her head, "Why?" she choked out.

The man took his dagger and placed it near Zaire's stomach, "It doesn't matter. Is the palace heavily guarded?"

Zaire nodded.

The man smirked, "Then you're going to have to help me get in there."

Zaire's eyes widened, "I can't do that. I don't even know you."

The man laughed, "Oh, you know me, I'm well known around here. You may know me mostly as the most wanted man in Egypt, but I prefer Tomb Robber or…"

"Bakura." Zaire whispered softly completing his sentence.

Satire's eyes grew large. If she'd known who the man was she would have yelled for the guards immediately, but now that Bakura had Zaire in a position of life or death, she couldn't risk it.

"So, what do you say about helping me?" Bakura offered once again pushing the dagger deeper but not breaking the skin.

Zaire whimpered and nodded. She didn't want to but maybe if she just agreed, then he'd let her go and she could forget the whole thing.

"Perfect," Bakura stated as he placed Zaire down and put his dagger away, "and to make sure you don't go back on our deal, I'll just hold her in safe keeping." Bakura smirked as he grabbed Satire.

"Let me down." She screamed as she kicked Bakura who swung her over his shoulder.

"No." Zaire cried hoarsely, still out of breath from Bakura's strangling, as she reached for her friend.

Bakura snarled and reached for Satire's pressure point knocking the girl on conscience before she made a scene. He turned to Zaire and pushed her away with his foot.

He stood above her with his hood fully on again, "I want you and Lavie at the river by night fall and we'll make the switch, got that?"

Zaire nodded with tears and her eyes.

Bakura turned and walked away.

**End FlashBack**

…" Bakura stopped.

Lavie looked at him curiously, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Bakura looked at her and shook his head, "Oh…um…I got you back. That's it."

Lavie frowned, "That's not the whole story."

"It's a summary." He explained and smiled goofily.

Lavie looked at him with questioning eyes. She looked back down at the ground and kicked at a rock. She felt herself begin to tear up inside once again.

Bakura wrapped his arms around her and put his head against hers.

Lavie sniffed, "We've been friends ever since I could remember, Ryou and I, and I feel as though…I don't know, he's known you less of a time then he's known me."

Bakura remained silent as not to distract her from her thoughts.

"Don't think I'm making a big deal out of this small thing because it's bigger than this. I have a history that you don't know about. My family and Ryou's father have done and said some pretty cruel stuff to me. I know what Ryou meant. He doesn't want a repeat of last time and I don't either, but I think it's time Ryou just let his father know that he doesn't give a fuck what he says, but the only problem with that is that he does give a fuck and I think that's what hurts the most." She said in one breath before breaking down in tears.

Bakura just let her cry coming to the conclusion that it was the build up of all the pain and agony that she'd suffered in her life. He knew she needed this more then anything.

~~

"Zaire. Stop." Yami cried as he finally caught up with the girl.

Zaire sighed as she stopped and turned to him, "What?" she asked sternly.

Yami tried desperately to catch his breath, "Wha…what's this…this…all about?" he breathed.

She shrugged, "Nothing, I have to go to work."

"BS. You're upset. Why? I told you I was going with Yugi and someone else to the dance." Yami stated.

"O.K, Yami. I… don't… care." Zaire closed her eyes as she forced herself to believe her own words, "Go to the dance with her, I really don't care. It's not like you're my boyfriend or anything. We haven't even known each other that long, right?" She said the last part with a laugh before clearing her throat.

Yami stared at her before looking down, "Yeah, you're right." He sighed as he turned around, "I'll see you tomorrow." He said as he started to walk toward his home.

Zaire watched longingly as Yami walked away. She sighed as she battled with herself to call him back. She breathed with frustration as she turned around and headed off toward her new job.

Angelbaby: O.K that's it because I need to update. I promise the next update will take this long. I apologize, I really do. Please don't hate me. I know you waited a long time and this chapter sucked but I promise next time will be better. Anyway, who should the next lemon be? It'll be good since there was no action in this one. Or someone could write one if you like.
