Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Return To Hades ❯ Mine Again ( Chapter 3 )
WARNING: ONE MENTION OF INCEST.
Shadow of Light: Dr. Chapman will always be there for Aten. Otogi will do what he can, but he won't see him in this chappie. As far as Serenity's arrival, you'll see.
Rurouni_agra: *hands Ryou and Bakura plushies* They'll invite Yugi. Yugi will be welcome. He's still Joey's friend.
Kanika: Yeah, they're this old already. If I come up with a story that will go between the other chibi stories, I'll do it.
Kat: Unkie Togi will help both boys. I think he's wearing the apron when the boys come by. I'll double check. If not, he sure can be wearing it.
Jupitor Knight: he is 15 in the next story. I hope your game was good.
Valea: I will do one of Robbie's fantasies in another chappie. I took that story down because I thought if I hid the story, I could post it as I got it done and no one would see it but me. So, it left some secrets slip as to my plans. My plans haven't changed. Those chappies will still happen.
Broken Time: Serenity has been living with her mother and her mother asked her to bring Joey home basically thinking that Seto doesn't deserve Joey.
Tari Helyanwe: Sorry if I spelt it wrong. Robbie feels the same for Aten. I'm going to do a Robbie fantasy soon. Ryou does the talk with Aten since he has been where Aten is (especially regarding the abuse issue)
Harvestgirl 64: I refuse to use Duke. Yuck. Otogi is better. Serenity is going to be anything but friendly with Seto.
anubiset: Serenity was sent to bring Joey home. Will Joey give in? Not likely.
Mine Again
Joey stood by the security desk, shock plain on his face. He rubbed his eyes, believing he was seeing a mirage.
"Serenity? What…What are you doing here?"
Joey threw his arms around his sister. "It's been so long since we've talked last!"
"I heard about your engagement. I had to come and see if the rumor was true."
Joey raised an eyebrow. "What rumor?"
"That you were marrying Seto Kaiba."
Joey nodded and smiled excitedly. "Yup! I'm going to be officially Joey Wheeler-Kaiba! I'm so glad you've came!"
Serenity let Joey lead him to the elevator. "Mother was quite shocked when she heard the news. I think she broke down when she heard. The shock made her drop a plate."
Joey leaned against the elevator. He looked his sister up and down. His sister still had her long, brown hair. Her brown eyes looked just as he saw them many years ago.
Joey crossed his arms. He was abandoned by his mother and was forced to live with his abusive father.
He had never forgiven his mother for leaving him. All Joey wanted at the time was his sister to be safe. Just because his mother chose to take Serenity and leave him behind, he shouldn't feel angry towards his sister.
Joey's excitement simmered as his mother was mentioned. "How is mom?"
"She…..She's okay. She hasn't heard from dad in a while. Not that she minds, though."
Joey looked up. "Do you mean mom kept in touch with dad after she left?"
Serenity nodded. "Sometimes."
The blond snorted in disgust. 'I doubt that dad told her the hell he was putting me through since I was seven.'
"Why would she do that if she knew what an asshole he was?"
Serenity covered her mouth. "You shouldn't talk that way about our father!"
Joey growled. "I have every right talking about him that way!"
Serenity shrugged. "It's not dad's fault that mom and he fell apart. Mom had always told me that they didn't see eye-to-eye anymore."
Joey snorted in disgust. "Okay. If that's what you believe, Serenity."
They stepped out of the elevator and saw a twelve year old boy running through the hallway.
"Jaimen! Come here!"
The icy-blue eyed boy ran to them. His brown hair and blue eyes made him look exactly like Seto.
"Hi, other dad!" the boy exclaimed as he threw his arms around Joey's waist.
Serenity gasped. "You never told me that you had a son!"
"Jaimen, this is my sister, Serenity."
Jaimen looked up at Serenity. "Do you have any candy, Serenity?"
"I don't carry candy. Are you my brother's son?"
Jaimen laughed, holding his sides. "No! I'm my daddy's son! My daddy is Seto Kaiba."
Serenity looked around. "Where is your mommy?"
Jaimen sighed. "My mommy was crushed by a big building."
Joey rubbed the child's hair. "I'll discuss that with you later."
A tall, green-eyed, red-haired boy left the study with a book.
"Hi, Dad."
"Hayden, come here!"
Hayden looked at Serenity and smiled. "Hello."
"Hayden, this is my sister, Serenity. Serenity, this is Hayden. Seto and I adopted him when he was five."
"How old are you, Hayden?" Serenity asked him.
"I just turned thirteen last week," the tall red-haired boy had said.
Hayden had grown up to be almost as tall as Joey. He was thin, but not skinny. His freckles still covered his skin on his cheeks and his hands. His green eyes were large and sparkling.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me you adopted a kid and had another one!"
"You haven't talked to me since you left with mom! I couldn't tell you."
"We'll see you later on, Hayden. Come on, Serenity. Let's go see Seto."
********************
Seto looked up as Serenity entered the room. "Hello, Serenity," Seto said, looking up from his Financial Review magazine.
Serenity narrowed her eyes and turned to Joey. "So, it is true! You are marrying Seto Kaiba!"
Joey stepped back. "Yeah. I told you I was marrying him. It's not a rumor."
Serenity turned to Seto. "How could you do this to my brother? You're stringing him along, aren't you? Is this some type of cruel joke?"
Seto stood up, hearing the combative tone in her voice. "It's not a joke. I love Joey and I am going to marry him."
Serenity stepped up to Seto and looked him straight in the face. "You've done nothing but torment my brother during Duelist Kingdom and Battle City! Now you are saying you love him and you want to marry him? You're a joke, Seto Kaiba!"
Joey stepped in front of Seto. "Serenity, no. Seto really loves me and I love him."
Serenity narrowed her eyes. "Impossible! You can't love him! I never knew you were that way, Joey!"
Joey turned to Seto. "Seto, can you leave me alone with Serenity?"
Seto stopped beside Serenity and turned to her. "I have to warn you, Serenity. The last person to call me a joke disappeared and the cops found his body dumped in the Domino Canal….at least…what they could find of his body."
Seto left the room quietly.
Serenity turned to Joey. "Joey, he can't possibly love you!"
Joey took his sister's shoulders tightly. "He does. We've been through hell, Serenity. He helped me through my alcohol addiction and---."
Serenity stepped back, horror on her face. "Seto drove you to the bottle!"
"No, he didn't! Serenity, he helped me when he found me living on the streets and he brought me here to live with him."
"Why were you living on the streets?"
Joey sat by the fire. "Serenity, you have no idea what it was like living with dad. You're lucky that mom took you to live with her."
Serenity crossed her arms. "What are you talking about? Dad loved us."
Joey turned to her with tears in his eyes. "Dad didn't love us, Serenity. Daddy didn't love me." Joey hung his head low. "He treated me like dirt. And I'll never forgive him……never."
Serenity narrowed her eyes. "Mom said that she and dad fought! She told me that he couldn't afford to take care of us anymore! Dad was a good person, despite his faults!"
Joey stood up angrily. "He was not! Serenity, you were told lies! Mom and Dad lied to you from day one!"
"Dad was unlucky!" Serenity argued.
"Dad was an asshole!"
Serenity folded her arms. "Dad always treated me just perfectly when he came over to visit Mom and I."
"Dad was a god-damned…..wait." Joey's brown eyes widened. "Dad visited you and mom? He…He never told me that he did. He told me that he never saw you or mom after you guys left."
"Daddy always bounced me on his knee when he played with me."
Joey growled. "He bounced me, too, Serenity! He bounced me on his knee, all right!"
"Dad was a great guy!"
Joey threw up his hands. "I'm not talking about that asshole anymore! I don't want to hear anymore of how great he was! You can keep living those lies, Serenity, but I refuse to see our father as anything but an abusive, controlling, son-of-a-bitch! I'm done with him. I'm ready to start a new life with my husband."
Serenity crossed her arms defiantly. "Joey, I didn't know you were 'that way.'"
"What way?"
"Gay."
Joey shrugged. "I'm not gay. I'm bisexual."
Serenity sighed, as if in relief. "Good. Then all isn't lost. We can find you a nice girl and you can marry her."
Joey stepped back. "I don't want to marry a nice girl. I want to marry Seto. I love him."
Serenity laughed. "How could you love him? He made your life a living hell, or so I heard from dad."
"He did make my life a hell until I learned what type of guy he really is."
"Yeah, he's conceited, self-righteous, snobbish, self-serving, and devious!"
Joey sighed. "That was the old Kaiba. That was the personality that Seto wanted everyone to see. I learned that Seto can be quite charming and sensitive."
Serenity laughed. "Joey, he's a bitch! You don't need Seto!"
Joey crossed his arms. "Everyone in my life has denied me. My own mother left me to live with an abusive father. You left me. Everyone left me. Nobody cared about what I wanted when I was a kid. Now that I'm older, I can say that this is what I want. Seto is what I need. Seto is who I love. And I am not giving him up!"
Serenity stepped back from Joey. "I never knew you would marry a guy, Joey. That's just….wrong."
"Maybe to you it is, but it's not so to me. I love Seto. Why does it matter whom I marry?"
Serenity glared at him, looking disgusted. "I never knew you were THAT way, Joey."
Joey took a poker and poked the fire. "I'm your only brother. Because I'm bisexual doesn't mean I'm no good. Besides, no one has any right to tell me what to do or how to live my life. For once in my life, I'm doing something I want, and now I'm getting the shitty end of the stick because of it?" Joey turned to his sister. "I hoped that you would have accepted me as your brother….and not for whom I choose to take to my bed."
Serenity rolled her eyes. "I just don't think that Seto is the right….person….for you."
The blond walked up to his sister and took her shoulders in his hands. "I love Seto. I'm marrying him no matter what anyone says. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I've loved him since I was fourteen. Nothing can take away what I feel for Seto. He means too much to me."
"Well, I think I should stick around. I want to make sure you're not being taken for the ride of your life."
Joey nodded. "Well, we do have an extra bedroom. I'll have to talk to Seto about it, but I don't think it will be a problem. Just please, Serenity, give Seto a chance."
A sigh came from the girl. "I will try."
Joey kissed her forehead. "Thank you. That is all I ask. You stay here. I'll go talk to Seto."
Serenity's POV
My brother left and closed the door behind him.
My brother is bi?! When did this happen?
Seto must have changed him more than I thought! My brother is not gay! He can't be!
Mom was right….I have to put a stop to this.
But, Joey won't listen to me. If he won't listen to me, he'll listen to someone whom he trusts.
Maybe Jaimen or Hayden.
If I get one of them to see how perverted this idea is, then they will try to talk Joey out of it! Then he can come home to stay with mom and I!
Brilliant!
I won't let my brother marry a jerk like Seto Kaiba!
My poor father would be heartbroken if he ever found out!
I wonder where dad is, anyway. I haven't seen him in years.
Wait a minute…….
Maybe Seto had something to do with it!
I wouldn't put it past him, the bastard!
He must have changed Joey!
Well, I'll stop this wedding if it is the last thing I ever do!
**************************
Aten ran over to Robbie's house and knocked on the door. Miranda, Robbie's mother, opened the door.
"Hello, Aten. Robbie's out back."
"Thank you!"
The twelve year old ran into the back yard to find his friend sitting in the shade, reading a book. Robbie enjoyed reading. He had helped Aten throughout school, and with his help, had become a better reader. The English language still gave him difficulties, but it wasn't anything compared to what it had been.
Robbie was also twelve years old. The tips of his brown hair were becoming curly and his blue eyes glistened at the sight of his friend. Robbie's skin was creamy white. Aten's skin still retained in tan Egyptian color, but was becoming minutely darker as he aged.
They were literally light and dark.
"What are you reading?"
Robbie shrugged. "Nothing much. How are you doing?"
"I came to see if you wanted to do anything. We rented a movie tonight. Do you want to come over?"
Robbie ran his hands through his short brown hair. "I would love to, Aten…but…umm….mom and I have to go to the church tonight for choir practice."
Aten sighed. "Oh. Really? Tonight?"
Robbie nodded. "Yeah. I have to go sing tonight. Maybe we can watch it tomorrow."
Aten shrugged. "That sounds good. You know what? Maybe we can go to the movies tomorrow night. I get my allowance from my daddy tomorrow. Would you like to do that?"
Robbie nodded enthusiastically. "I'd love to!"
Aten hugged Robbie, snuggling into his shoulder.
"Okay! I'll see tomorrow what is playing!"
"Sounds good. How was your appointment with Dr. Chapman?"
Aten detached himself from Robbie and blushed. "Oh. It went….okay."
"Did you tell Dr. Chapman about your nightmares?"
Aten took a deep breath. "Yeah. I did."
Robbie waited for Aten to say something, but never wanted to intrude on Aten's sessions with his psychiatrist. Robbie never knew why Aten needed to go into psychiatric counseling.
Robbie was only told that Aten needed to talk to a special doctor to help him feel better.
Aten wanted to tell Robbie why he was going to Dr. Chapman….but, if Robbie ever knew about his grandfather raping him at two and three years old, he feared that he would lose Robbie.
Robbie wouldn't want him…"used."
Aten had already been taken….he still had the scars to prove it.
In his back was carved the word "MINE." His grandfather had carved that into his back. Many attempts at surgery had failed to remove it, much to the dismay of his mother, Ryou, and his father, Marik.
Just his carved back alone was a good enough reason to think that Robbie wouldn't want him.
Aten tried to face the prospect that Robbie would never find him attractive because of the many scars his body bore.
Robbie pat Aten's leg. "Maybe we can go out for ice cream, too! I don't mind working on my chores extra hard so we can go out."
Aten felt Robbie's hand on his leg and felt the uncomfortable sensation arrive in his jeans again.
'Oh god….not now…,' Aten thought.
Robbie looked up into Aten's eyes, his own face becoming red. Robbie clenched his fists and discovered they were sweaty.
Aten clenched his own fists and noticed they were also sweaty.
Robbie shifted on the ground as he kept his hand on Aten's leg. "Umm…I really have to go, Aten. It's getting a little hot out here."
Aten nodded. "Yeah. It's a little hot out here. I…umm…I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow. Come over my house after lunch and we'll go out for ice cream and a movie."
Robbie stood up and wavered a little. "Okay, Aten. Until tomorrow, then."
Robbie hugged Aten quickly and limped into his house.
He closed the door and pressed his back to it, panting heavily.
His mother walked into the kitchen. "Robbie? Are you feeling okay?"
Robbie swallowed hard as he felt a familiar tightness in his gut. His hands were sweaty, and he knew it wasn't because of the heat. His body trembled.
"Robbie, are you feeling okay? You look flushed," Miranda commented, noting that Robbie's pants had become noticeably more tighter since he saw her before Aten's appearance.
"I'm fine, mom."
Miranda poured herself a cup of juice. "Did Aten go home so soon?"
"Yeah….he just told me about his appointment with Dr. Chapman. Umm…I have to go to my room now."
Robbie limped up the stairs and to his room. His limp had become more noticeable as he grew older. His right foot was a clubbed foot and had caused him pain on and off throughout his life. Corrective surgery had tried to correct it when he was a newborn, and the operation failed.
Robbie closed on his bed and limped to his bed.
He threw himself on his bed and bit his lip.
"Aten…..if you only knew how I really felt about you…."
Robbie sniffled. 'Aten wouldn't want me with my foot. He deserves someone perfect. I'm far from perfect.' A quiet sob escaped Robbie. 'Aten will never love me.'
Robbie felt new sensations brewing inside of him emotionally and physically that he couldn't understand. His eyes snapped open wide when he felt his shorts suddenly tighten.
'Aten,' Robbie whispered quietly, as if Aten's name were some divine incantation, 'If only you knew how I feel about you….'
********************************
Aten sat on the couch beside Ryou. Ryou held a bowl of popcorn on his lap. Aria sat beside her father. Marik and Bakura sat together while Malik sat on the single chair with his feet on the coffee table.
"Die Hard With a Vengeance" started and Aten grabbed a handful of popcorn.
Aria grabbed some popcorn and brushed her white spiky hair behind her shoulders. Aria had kept her hair long. Tiny dents on her chest attested to her physical development. She was thin, but no where as thin as her brother. Her dog, Sekhmet, sat by her feet.
Aria and Bakura cheered during the car chases and explosions.
Aten's eyes opened wide as he felt the familiar sensation in his boxers again. 'Oh, gods, no! Not with my parents around!'
Aten crossed his legs and his palms became sweaty. Aten's forehead covered with sweat as he watched the violence on the television.
Why was this happening?!
Was it the violence on the TV doing this?
Aten grabbed the blanket at the edge of the couch and started twisting it with his hands, nervously.
Bakura turned his head and saw Aten's boxers telling the silent story of what was happening. Bakura elbowed Marik.
"Ishtar….look at your son."
Marik looked at Aten. "What about him?"
Bakura looked down. Aten had begun squirming uncomfortably in his seat beside his mother. "Can't you tell, Ishtar?"
Marik looked at Aten again. "He's sitting down and watching a movie. What's the big deal?"
"How dense are you, Ishtar? I mean, really?"
Aria turned to her father, her hair twitching. "Daddy, I can't hear the people's screams of pain and things exploding if you're talking to Daddy Marik!"
Bakura sighed. "Follow me to the kitchen, Rod-Boy."
Marik followed the other yami into the kitchen. "What's this all about, 'Kura?"
Bakura turned Marik to face Aten. "Do you see your son?"
"Yes."
"Good boy. Do you see how he's squirming?"
"Yes."
"Do you know WHY he is squirming? Look down."
Marik's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "Oh….shit!"
Bakura snickered. "I think your son has just reached that magical time in every boy's life where he needs his father to talk to him about the birds and the bees, don't you think?"
Marik stepped in front of the wall and banged his head against it. "Why me?"
Bakura laughed. "You are her father! You have to do this one."
Marik poked Bakura in the chest. "You think it's so funny, Itemri? Wait until you have to explain Aria's menstrual cycle to her!"
The spiky white-haired yami chuckled. "Oh, I'm not doing that. Ryou's going to explain that one. He gave birth to her, he can take care of all that unpleasantness."
Marik crossed his arms. "What makes you think that the only completely gay guy in the house knows anything about a woman's period?"
Bakura shook his head. "The instant she gets it, I'm going to invest in a baseball bat and a shovel. In fact, no…I'll just invest in a shovel. You can kill someone with the shovel and bury the body afterwards."
Marik pointed at Bakura. "She's going to get it sooner or later, Itemri. Our kids are growing up."
Bakura shook his head. "Not my kid!"
The blond rolled his eyes. "Okay, Bakura. Your daughter is twelve years old now. She's going to be thirteen in three months. She's going to get it sooner or later, Itemri." Marik sighed. "I guess I have to talk to Aten tonight."
Marik and Bakura returned to the living room and grabbed their handfuls of popcorn.
Ryou turned to his son after feeling him shifting restlessly in his chair. "Aten, son, are you okay?"
Aten's face was beet red with embarrassment. 'How can this be happening to me?'
"Umm…I'm fine, mommy," Aten said, covering his groin area with some of the blanket.
Ryou bit his lip. Mother's intuition told him there was something wrong.
Ryou continued to watch the movie and looked down to see Aten's hand under the blanket that was shielding the front of his boxers. Tiny motions under the blanket attested to what the boy was doing.
Ryou leaned over to Aten. "Aten, honey, if you're going to do that, you have to do that in your room."
Aten looked up at Ryou with large, teary eyes. "Okay."
Aten slid off of the couch and climbed the stairs slowly.
Ryou turned to Marik. "Marik, we really need to have a talk with our son."
*****************************
Charlie reclined on his chair, watching the television with his two cohorts.
[Today, Seto Kaiba announced the opening of his fifth Kaiba Land Dueling Stadium in Oakridge County today.]
Seto Kaiba stood with Mokuba, Hayden, Jaimen, and his fiancé, Joey Wheeler. "Today is a great day for the Kaiba Corporation. Today, we announce the Grand Opening of the fifth Kaiba Land in this great state of ours!"
Hayden stepped beside Seto. "The Kaiba Family declares this Kaiba Land officially open to the public!" Hayden cut the ribbon to the doors and the crowd cheered.
Charlie smiled at the screen and pointed to Hayden. "That's my nephew…my darling nephew, Hayden."
Vinnie narrowed his eyes at the television. "Is that the kid that the Feds took away from you?"
Charlie nodded. "I had that kid in the palm of my hand. That boy brought tons of cash in for me! For two and a half years, that boy worked for me. He was such a good little whore for me. Then the cops came, alerted by a neighbor, and they arrested me."
Vinnie growled. "He made you rich, Charlie, and the god-damned Feds came and took that boy from you?"
Charlie narrowed his eyes at Hayden on the screen. "I want him back."
The other man in the room stood behind Charlie. "You want him back?" the deep voice asked. "We can get him back for you. That shouldn't be a problem."
Charlie narrowed his eyes. "Hayden belongs with me. That boy is worth a lot of money. One thing is certain, boys, when I get him back, he's going to be making up for all the years he was away from me."
Charlie reached over to the television screen and brushed his fingers over Hayden's face. "I'll get you back, my little nephew. You belong to me. Soon, you will be in my arms again…We will be a happy family once more."
Seto and Joey put their arms around Hayden.
"Oh yes, Hayden, you will be mine again."
