Thanks to all who reviewed this story. I was just going to do this as a one-shot, but I wanted to continue it.

I'll show them!

Mako's POV

It's so lonely on this houseboat.

Nobody's here to keep me company. My only companions have only been the sea and the creatures which dwell within.

I've always been alone. After many years of searching, I have still not found my father.

I give up.

Much like everyone has given up on me.

It's not fair!

Why do I have to remain alone while everyone else has someone to hold, someone to care for?

My friends from Duelist Kingdom have ignored me. Joey Wheeler used to come around to visit me when he was in the area, but now he ignores me. He never visits.

And I am alone.

I heard he was with Tristan Taylor. Tristan and Joey were a couple. I heard that Yugi and Ryou were a couple. In Battle City, I met up with a Otogi Ryuugi. I'm not sure if he's with anyone. I've only talked to him a few times and every time he flirted with me.

There's a rumor out there that Seto is dating some guy, but the newspapers can't or won't say who is Seto's newest partner.

Even Mr. Cruel-Confident-CEO has someone while I'm sitting here alone!

Everybody has everything so much better than I will ever have!

Am I undeserving of love and companionship?

I'll show them!

If I can't have love and companionship, why should everyone else? Why should I be singled out?

I'm tired of being left out!

If I can't have love and companionship, then nobody should!

I should not have let Marik Ishtar leave this room! He took his pleasure and left me alone!

I'll destroy my friends before they have a chance to leave me!

I'll take my pleasure just like Marik took his! Then I'll destroy them before they can leave me alone!

At the point of extreme pleasure, I will kill them! Kill them before they can leave me alone again!

I shall be like the sea…calm, yet deadly.

Kill them!

Kill them while I am taking my pleasure!

Their cries at the point of climax will be the last sounds they will ever make!

I will make it happen.

They will never leave me again…not alive, anyway.

I'll show them! I'll show them all!

*************************

I took a long walk to find where my "friends" were hanging out. I knew that Tristan and Joey frequented the local arcade, playing Skee-Ball and racing games.

I have a little game I'd like to play with them. Maybe we can play someday.

I'm looking forward to it.

Walking down the street, I saw Ryou and Bakura having ice cream in an ice cream shop. I thought that Ryou hated his yami! I heard Bakura hated him. Ryou and Bakura chuckled in their seats.

You won't be laughing for long, Ryou. Enjoy every breath while you can.

Maybe the rumors were true. They had made amends. Rumor was also saying that Yugi really loved Ryou and Ryou really loved Yugi.

But you can't trust rumor.

I saw Yugi sweeping the front of the Kame Game Shop, humming to himself.

You won't be happy for too much longer, Yugi.

I heard some girl call my name from behind me. Oh…it's her.

Anzu.

Here we go with the friendship speeches….again.

"Hi, Mako! I haven't seen you since Battle City! What have you been doing with yourself?"

I sighed sadly. Been alone! Friendless! Forgotten! Ignored! YOU?

"Fine, I guess," I answered.

Anzu pouted. "Mako, you don't look like you have a friend in the world! You look so sad!"

No shit, Sherlock.

I nodded silently, not wanting her to hear what I was really thinking.

"Yeah. I'm feeling kind of lonely."

"Aww…we need to find you some friends! Friends will help you turn that frown upside down!"

Gods…here we go.

"I don't have any friends."

Anzu looked sad. "Aww…that's too bad. I have tons of friends who are always there to help me! When one of us needs help, we all pull through for each other! That is what friendship is all about!"

Dear, gods, I can't take it!

I turned the corner, trying to give her the cold shoulder politely. She must not understand my body language clearly saying, 'Go away.'

She still followed me like a lost puppy.

"Maybe we can find you some friends to be with."

I don't want friends! I don't need friends!

I turned down an alley, trying to avoid being seen by any potential victims.

I pretended to fall and my hand landed on a brick. Anzu helped me to my feet.

"Poor Mako! No friends." She turned away from me. "Friendship is the most important thing in the world. I wish there was something I could do."

There is one thing you can do for me, Anzu.

Die.

I took the brick and slammed it against the back of her head. She fell forward, giving out a little whimper at my assault.

Hit!

Hit!

Hit!

Die!

Hit!

It wasn't long before her blood covered the brick and the concrete of the alley.

I threw the brick against her head again and walked away calmly, leaving her lifeless body behind.

One friend down.

Many to go.
