Note: This story is written for Elizahiro, who left me a comment on MM.org. Her character is Rina and this story is a Rina/Seto pairing. Hope you like it. Also this is my first fic that is centered on a character that is NOT Atemu aka Yami. Hope I do ok. I have no idea what to do for a plot so I am just making this up as I go.

-Normal Pov-

It was 7:30 in the morning and it was a beautiful day. Well for most people. There was one person who didn't like today at all, and that was the CEO of Kaiba Corp who was currently walking to school. Seto Kaiba, the 17 year old brown haired, and blue eyed billionaire was cursing as he walked down an almost deserted sidewalk. His limo had broken down and he had allowed his little brother Mokuba to talk him into walking to school. His brother had parted ways with him only a few moments before, heading to Domino Elementary school. Now Seto walked down the sidewalk cursing the fact that he had to walk in this heat. It wasn't unbearable, but it WAS uncomfortable.

He was lost in thought when he heard someone yell to watch out. He spun to see what was going on and came face to face with a speeding ball of brown and blue that hurled right into his chest knocking them both over. Seto sat winded for a minute aware of a light weight on him that kept him down. He was about to yell at the person to get off him when they raised their head and he saw that it was a young woman lying on him. The words he was going to yell died in his throat when he saw those amazing emerald orbs flashing at him. All he could think was /beautiful/.

He realized that they were still laying on the ground and he managed to pull himself together enough to push her off him and stand up. He cleared his throat and decided to give her a piece of his mind, but before he could say anything, she spoke first, and BOY was SHE pissed!

-Rina's Pov-

I just woke up to the annoying ringing of my alarm clock. I hit the snooze button like 3 times and it STILL wouldn't stop! So I ended up picking it up and throwing it as hard as I could at the door. It was a bit of a surprise when Hanon decided to materialize in her ghost form by the door, and shriek as the clock went through her.

Now if anyone could see us together, they would think we were twins. Hanon and I look exactly alike except for my emerald eyes and her blue ones. The truth is, Hanon is my yami.

I went to an Egyptian antique store and found the beautiful golden choker with an Eye of Ra on it. The price was pretty sweet for something made of solid gold and it almost seemed to draw me to it, so I bought it and when I got home, I put it on. I'm really surprised I didn't wake the rest of the country with my screams when it started to glow brightly and I heard a voice in my mind. That was the day I met my new yami, Hanon.

That was almost a month ago and now I have my best friend Hanon by my side. She can sometimes take solid form but doesn't do it often as it ends up with everyone asking impossible to answer questions. She is so strong and has protected me so much. She's so cool. Also, I found out that I have a power too. Hanon can read minds and so can I! Cool ne?

Back to the things at hand. I am currently running around my apartment getting my stuff together for my first day of school. I just moved to Domino Japan over the summer holidays and now I am starting Domino High. With everything on my mind, I ended up hopping around on one foot while trying to get my black converses (sneakers right? -_-' I had to check the net) on my feet. I was wearing the guy's uniform for the school. Hey, I wasn't going to be caught DEAD in those little pink outfits with the miniskirts that covered absolutely NOTHING! Hell no! The thought itself was enough to make me grimace in disgust.

Hanon just stood back and watched me with an amused smirk as I ended up tripping over my school bag and landing flat on my face. I managed to pull myself back up and finish getting ready. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and check out the uniform and I had to admit, it looked pretty good on me. It may have been the guy's uniform, but in it, there was no doubt I was a woman.

Now here I am, running down the almost abandoned sidewalk towards school. I was looking around and noticed how beautiful the day was. It was sunny with not one cloud in the sky and it was nice and warm. I turned my head back to the sidewalk just in time to see that I was about to run right into someone. I knew I wouldn't be able to stop in time, so I shouted "Hey! Watch out!"

Great, he just turned to look at me and didn't move. Was this guy an idiot? I didn't have any time to contemplate that when I suddenly ran smack into a warm surface and the next thing I knew, we were both on the ground with me on top of him. I felt his body go rigid beneath me and knew he was about to yell so I looked up ready to start yelling before him. The thing is, as soon as I saw those incredible blue eyes, the words died on my lips. I realized who I had fallen on. The infamous CEO of Kaiba Corp, Seto Kaiba. The gorgeous and smart teenage billionaire that supposedly went to Domino High. Well, from the uniform he was wearing, I'd say those rumors were true. Everything I had heard about this guy seemed to be true. He was smart, gorgeous, tall, dark, brooding, and oh yeah...a total ASSHOLE!

I could see the hard and angry look in his eyes when he saw me. He was going to say something and I looked him right in the eyes, daring him to say it. But what surprised me was that his eyes suddenly seemed to soften and I couldv'e sworn I heard the word 'beautiful' cross his mind. That made my eyes go wide. The famous CEO of KC thought I was beautiful? I didn't have any time to think about it though when his eyes suddenly went back to being hard and he pushed me off him roughly to stand up.

/How DARE he push me?!?! He had NO right to do that!/ I screamed in my mind, waking Hanon who materialized beside me in her ghost form that only I could see. I quickly stood up and saw that he was about to say something to me, but before he could, I cut him off. "Who the HELL do you think you are pushing me like that? That was really rude you know. You stupid jerk!"

He just smirked and turned to walk away, but as he did so he had one comment to make. "If you actually watched where you were going, you'd never have wasted my time by running into me." And he walked off! That jerk!

I stood there seething and wishing for a way to get him back for that comment. He had no right! I stood in the middle of the sidewalk for several minutes before I realized I was going to be late on my first day of school, so I took off the same way he went, hoping against hope that I wouldn't run into him again. Hanon glided silently beside me, also wishing for a chance to get even with that jerk.

In school
-Normal Pov-

Everyone was sitting at their desk working on the assignment the teacher had given out when there was a quiet knock at the door which caused many people to look up. The teacher went to open it and spoke quietly with the person there before once again heading to her desk and calling for everyone's attention. Once everyone had looked up she began to explain about a new student.

"Everyone, I would like to introduce you to a new student we have today." Ms Jackson (made it up) said to her class. She looked at the door, "you can come in now" she called softly.

Everyone turned to watch as a young woman walked into the room. They were all shocked to see that she was wearing the guy's uniform and most of the guys almost started drooling at how good she looked in it. It covered her well, but didn't hide any of her curves. The young woman walked over to stand beside the teacher's desk with an amazing amount of grace and confidence, and she turned to look at everyone in the class. She had flowing brown hair that gently brushed against her shoulders and fiery emerald eyes. She smiled politely and the class could see that she seemed to be a nice person.

Even the cold hearted CEO of KC couldn't help but look up at her. /Oh great/ he thought. /It's her again/. He had to admit though, that the uniform did indeed look good on her. Realizing he was staring at some girl and not focusing on his work, he shook his head slightly and turned back down to his laptop, missing the look of anger and hurt she had thrown his way.

Ms Jackson looked at the girl, "please introduce yourself and tell us about about you" she spoke kindly.

The mystery girl looked around the classroom and with a slight clearing of her throat, she began. "Hi. My name is Rina and I am 15 years old. I just moved to Japan a short while ago. I like dueling and working on computers. Let's see....I think that's about it....oh no...wait. I'm also psychic" she spoke with a wink.

Everyone in the classroom thought she was either crazy or joking so they all laughed. Rina on the other hand was being completely serious.

Ms. Jackson looked around the room trying to find her a seat. "Well Rina. We need to find you a seat. Hhhmmm...well, it seems that the only free seat is next to Kaiba. Mr. Kaiba, please raise your hand"

Seto mentally groaned and did as he was told. How was he to get any work done with that nuisance sitting right beside him? He just chose to ignore her and return his attention to the work at hand.

-Rina's Pov-

/Oh GOD! I have so sit next to HIM?/ I thought to myself as I moved to take my seat. /He IS cute, but he's such a bastard. Why does he have to hate everyone he meets?/

Hanon who had been silent this entire time, chose to speak up. She materialized in her spirit form next to me and began speaking, unaware that four sets of eyes had immediately turned to watch us. [Rina. You can't let him get to you like this. Besides, I don't think he HATES everyone, he just doesn't get along with most of them.] Hanon told me quietly while becoming aware of being watched. She just pretended not to notice and continued to pay attention only to me.

I was also aware of the eyes that stared at me and I slowly looked around to see a young boy who had hair shaped like a star in three colors red, black, and blonde, and looked to be maybe 10, staring at me like he was suspicious of me, and a white haired boy with big brown doe eyes staring at me like he was curious and also a bit suspicious. I just looked at them curiously and they quicky turned back to their work, yet I still had the feeling I was being watched. I looked all around and found no one looking at me, but the feeling wouldn't fade. (I don't know Hanon. But for now you better go back into the choker. I feel like we're being watched and I know you can feel it too. We'll just deal with Seto later.) I said, not noticing my slip.

Hanon on the other hand did, [Seto? I thought it was Kaiba] she spoke with a smirk, watching as I blushed at realizing my mistake. [Nevermind Rina. You need to focus on your work] and with that final comment, Hanon disappeared back inside the choker.

I tried to focus on my work but still felt like I was being watched. I knew it had something to do with those two boys earlier, but didn't want to try to read their minds. I was having enough trouble dealing with the insulting thoughts coming from Seto's head. Still, I looked around the room and found a man with blonde hair laughing quietly with one of his buddies and wondered what was so funny. /Well. No matter. I have a lot of work to do/ I thought to myself and I got focused back on my work.

The rest of class was silent as everyone focused on their work. I was completely aware of the fact that I was being watched the whole time and it was beginning to annoy me.

At Lunch

I was currently sitting outside, under a large tree, working on a laptop I had gotten as a gift from my parents before I moved. I was working on a special dueling program. It was so similar to the KC programs, but with my own modifications. I had changed it just enough in order to make it my own product, but I knew I would never have it made. It was just something to work on for fun.

Hanon had materialized beside me in solid form, when no one was around and we were just relaxing. We spoke about the feeling of being watched and Hanon thought it could be from other Millenium items. Yes, we both knew about the other items and that most of them were located in Japan. We just didn't expect to run into holders here. If what was said was true, then these holders felt our power and knew that I had an item. /Great/ I thought. /If it wasn't enough I had to deal with guys staring at me all the time, I now probably have like 2 pissed off old men after me./

My yami just looked at me and laughed. She knew I wasn't being serious. We sat talking about everything that was going on, until the bell rang for the end of lunch period. We got up and Hanon went back into the choker as I took my laptop back to my locker and got my books for the next class. Today was....interesting....to say the least.

(I've never been good at writing about school, so I likely won't go through the whole day. Sorry. Also sorry about the 'old men' comment about Bakura and Yami. Those are two of my favorite guys, but I HAD to throw in an old man comment seeing as how their both 5000 years old.....Though the picture it gives me is just SOOOO wrong!....LOL...)

Fifth Period
-Normal Pov-

Everyone had just gotten out of class and had a 15 minute break before fifth period began, so they all split up to do their own thing. Rina had gone to her chemistry class and was surprised to find that many people from her earlier classes also had this class too. She looked about and spotted Seto Kaiba across the room staring at her intensly, but as soon as she looked at him, he scowled and turned back to his work. Rina could only stare as she heard the thoughts /Why can't I stop thinking about her? I keep staring at her like some love sick puppy!/ She couldn't believe it. Seto Kaiba, the asshole from before was thinking about HER? /oooooook....../ was all she thought as she blushed.

She then turned to see a group of people talking a little ways away from her. There was a girl with short brown hair, a bit shorter than her own. She had big blue eyes and was practically hanging off that boy with the tri colored spikey hair. Then there was the white haired boy with the big brown doe eyes, who seemed to be British and very kind. There were also the blonde and brunette guys who were laughing in her first class. They looked so happy together and she couldn't help but feel lonely as she turned back to her desk and hung her head. This was her first day and the only person she had spoken to was Seto Kaiba and that was to yell at him.

She was sitting there lost in her thoughts when she heard a light and kind voice asking her if she was ok. She turned to look up and saw the short boy with the tri colored hair and violet eyes standing beside her desk and looking slightly worried. His hair was so weird looking. It was all spiked up like a star fish or something and it was black with purple tips, except for his bangs which were blonde and framed his face. He had one hand on a golden upside down pyramid that he wore around his neck and the other resting on her desk. She was about to say something when Hanon spoke in her head.

[Becareful what you say Rina. This boy has a lot of power. Do you see the item around his neck?] at Rina's mental nod she continued [That is the Millenium puzzle that pharaoh Yami sealed his soul into.]

Rina looked back up into the eyes of the boy standing there as he looked confused. She realized she had never answered his question. "Yes...I'm fine. I was just thinking." she spoke softly. This kid seemed too innocent to be evil or dangerous to her. But there was something more to him.

The boy smiled and said "Alright. If your sure. My name is Yugi by the way."

Rina looked into his eyes and sensed that he knew something was up with her, but she just smiled and said "I'm Rina."

Suddenly, the brown haired, blue eyed girl came up beside them and said. "Hi. I'm Tea. Your Rina right?"

Rina just nodded as she felt uncomfortable around this girl. She was just too.....cheerful (Tea's an ok character, but sometimes she is WAY to damn cheerful!).

Then two boys came up and the brunette introduced himself first. "Hey there gorgeous! The name's Tristan. What is a lovely lady like yourself doing sitting here all on your lonesome?" /Ok....this guy was just.....weird.../

Before Rina could finish that thought, the blonde had gone and sat on her desk and introduced himself with a Brooklyn accent, to be Joey. He sat there for a moment seemingly staring off into space.

Rina became suspicious about what he was thinking and decided to read his mind. Probably the biggest mistake of today. As she opened herself to his thoughts, she felt a slight wave of animalistic lust and the thoughts /look at that RACK!/ and she came out of it to find him subtley looking at her chest, so she screeched (sp?) and jumped up swinging her fist around to catch him in the side of the head as she yelled "HENTAI!!"angrily.

Joey just fell off the desk and lay on the ground all swirly eyed from the hit, and she looked up at the others to find them looking shocked and confused. She just glared at the guys and told them to watch themselves and she sat back down.

Yugi was the first one to shake off his shock and he asked her why she hit Joey. He wasn't angry. He figured whatever had happened, Joey probably deserved it, but still, why had she done it? She looked up into his eyes, decided to trust him, and just told him the truth.

"He was acting weird and I knew something was up, so I read his mind and found him thinking about my....AHEM.....'rack' as he put it. I was insulted and actually noticed him LOOKING at my chest, so I hit him for being a pervert."

The small group consisting of Tea, Tristan, Joey, who had by now recovered and was staying well away from Rina and nursing a shiner, and Yugi just looked confused. It was Tea who spoke up next. "We thought you were joking when you said you were psychic. You mean you were being serious?"

Rina sighed and looked down. It was time to explain everything. She explained everything about her item, the choker and her power of reading minds. She explained about her yami Hanon and the fact that she could take solid form if she wanted. She explained everything. She thought they would hate her for her power, but after a few minutes of obviously trying to take in all the info, they all told her they thought it was cool. She then found out that Yugi and the white haired boy known as Ryou, had yamis too.

Joey apologized for thinking the way he did, but that he was just like that. He hadn't meant it seriously because he had Mai Valentine who was a major league duelist.

Rina accepted his apology and after a few more minutes of talking, she realized that she had made her first friends. The bell was just ringing to signal for everyone to take their seats but before they all left, Yugi looked at Rina and asked if she would like to come over to the Game Shop later. Of course the answer was yes. So they all went to their seats in order to finish the day.

At the Game Shop

Everyone was gathered at the shop checking out some new cards as they waited for Rina to show up. Yugi, Yami and Solomon Motou were on one side of the counter while Tea, Joey, Tristan and Ryou were on the other (yes, the yamis can take physical form, but like Hanon, they don't do it often). They were all talking about the new cards and what would best suite their decks, when they heard the bell above the front door open.

They all turned to see Rina standing there having gone home and changed out of her uniform. She now stood in low rise tight fitting blue jeans that were ripped in the knees and had crisscrossing belts (like the kind Yugi wears). She also had on a dark blue tank top and her black converses.

Rina was aware of being stared at and slowly walked into the shop when Solomon walked up to her and asked if there was anything he could help her with. She was about to say something but Yugi beat her to it.

"It's ok grandpa. This is Rina, the girl we told you about." Yugi spoke as he and Yami came around from behind the counter to walk up to her. She saw the taller version of Yugi staring at her like he was trying to figure something out and she just stared back, giving him a confused look.

Yugi looked at Yami and he looked back, neither one saying anything. Rina felt weird as they just stood staring at each other until she realized they were probably talking. Then Yami turned to look at her again and spoke. "Forgive me Rina. I was just trying to figure out why I sensed a great power within you and Yugi just explained that you also have a Millenium item and a yami." He then turned and walked back to the others while Yugi invited her in.

They all went into the livingroom while Solomon kept watch at the front door for customers, and Hanon came out of the choker to meet everyone. They were all surprised to see her but included her in the group anyways. Hanon was talking with Yami and Bakura who had by now come out of the ring. Something Bakura had pissed her off as she felt her yami's anger and looked over to find her twin glaring at the former tombrobber with flashing blue eyes. She was about to step in when she realized that Hanon could take care of herself, so she turned back to the others and continued their discussion.

They spoke about many things including her item and powers. Then Tristan brought up again how she punched Joey in the face for staring at her chest, which caused Joey to growl and leap at him, and Rina to blush and look at the floor. Yami looked carefully at her and she could sense that he didn't fully trust her which hurt her inside. She slowly looked up and faced him with the hurt visible in her eyes and noticed how he seemed surprised and then he turned away, a feeling of shame leaking through her mental block. She felt bad, but was also still hurt so she quietly told the others she had to go home and left the building before anyone could say anything. It wasn't like she LIKED Yami, but she wanted to be accepted by him and the others.

As she walked home, Rina was once again lost in thought. The fact that Yugi's yami didn't trust her hurt her. She told them everything about her powers and tried to make it clear that she wasn't a threat, but it still didn't seem like enough. Rina walked along the dark sidewalk, looking up to see heavy storm clouds in the sky and felt that Hanon had taken a nap in her soulroom.

-Rina's Pov-

/Just my luck/ I thought to myself. /I finally made some friends and THEIR friends don't trust me. I guess it's understandable with a power like mine, but still. It hurts to sense that./ I closed my eyes and continued walking in silence for several moments until I heard the crashing of thunder right over my head, which caused me to jump and look up just in time to be hit in the face as the clouds broke open and the rain poured down. Great. Now I was soaked and it looked like it was going to rain for a while. I still had a long ways to go to get home and there was no doubt I would get sick.

I picked up my pace a bit getting wetter and colder by the moment. I walked with my head down, trying to keep the water out of my eyes enough so that I could see straight. I was about to hit a corner when I heard the honking of a horn behind me. I kept walking figuring that whoever it was wouldn't be looking for me, but as I walked, I heard the honking again. I turned back to see a huge white limo behind me pulled over to the side of the road as it followed me. I stopped and looked at it suspiciously as I remembered watching t.v. shows where young girls got abducted in strange limos. Then brushing that thought aside, I shivered as I watched as it slowly pulled up so that the back window was right beside me.

I just looked at the door as it opened and low and behold, the infamous Seto Kaiba walked out with a large light blue umbrella. He walked right up to me and looked me in the eyes with his cold blue orbs. I could see a small sense of worry coming from those beautiful eyes and...../wait....did I just think that/? I shook my soaked head a bit to clear my thoughts and he smirked at me. I was about to open my mouth to snap at him when he cut me off.

"It's freezing out here and your going to get sick. Come on. Get in and lets get you home." He spoke loudly because of the rumble of the rain and thunder. I was about to refuse when a particularly bright flash of lightning struck near us and caused me to jump and rush into his waiting limo. I sat on the farthest seat shivering violently from the cold as he sat next to me and looked at me with concern now shining freely in his icy blue eyes.

"Don't worry. I won't ruin your seats." I muttered as I tried not to start shaking even worse or fall asleep from the sudden sense of drowsiness that I caught. My breathing became ragged as I tried my hardest to warm up. I was angry that of all days this one had to turn out to be such a pain in the ass.

Kaiba just looked at me angrily like he was shocked I would even think that all he worried about was his stupid leather seats and I caught a stray thought that echoed through his mind. /She's so beautiful, but stubborn. Damn it! Why do I even care?! I should just let her freeze but......I can't/ the last two words being thought quietly and with uncharacteristic softness. This made me look at Kaiba in shock. Did I hear what I thought I heard?

Seto looked at me with confusion. I guess he saw the look on my face and didn't understand it. Still, after a moment, he leaned over and opened a cabinet in the wall (I don't know if limos have these so just bare with me ok?) and pulled out a fleece blanket. Then he shook it out and wrapped it around my shivering body. Softly he looked at me and asked me where I lived, frowning when I told him and he realized that his place was closer.

Deciding to risk his mind again, I opened myself to him and heard him think /Damn! My place is closer and we have to get her into dry clothing as soon as possible. I guess I don't have a choice. Great....Mokuba's going to have a field day with this./ Closing my eyes, I heard Seto tell me that his place was closer and he asked me if I wanted to go there. I was just about to reply when I ran out of energy and passed out, feeling myself falling forward towards the cold, hard ground in front of me. The thing is, as I let the blackness envelope my mind, I realized I didn't hit the ground, but I landed in a pair of strong and warm arms. The last thing I heard was Seto calling my name worriedly.

-Seto's Pov-

I was so worried when Rina started shivering so violently. I sat next to her concerned about her health. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and hold her until her shivering stopped but saw the look in her eyes and knew that it would be a bad idea. I looked at her and she just muttered about not ruining my seats. How could she think that that's all I was worried about? I looked at her disbelievingly and angrily. She was so beautiful but so stubborn. How could I help her if she wouldn't let me. /wait a minute.....HELP HER?....since when do I help ANYONE? and since when do I even CARE about her?...I should let her freeze but.....I can't/ I couldn't believe I was thinking like this. Ok, so I admit that this girl has caught my attention. It was pretty funny to watch her punch Wheeler and calling him a pervert, and she was so beautiful.

I realized that I hadn't gotten her address and the limo driver was patiently waiting for me to give him directions on where to go, so I leaned over and asked her where she lived and I couldn't help but frown when she told me. Her place was a lot farther than mine and I needed to get her into dry clothes as soon as possible. I was going to have to take her to my place. /oh boy/ I thought. /Mokuba's going to have field day with this./ I told her what I was thinking and asked if she wanted to go to my place but after a moment, she passed out. Rina would have hit the ground if I hadn't caught her in my arms. She was so light and she was still shaking violently, so I pulled her into my lap and held her against me tightly as I ordered the driver to get us to my mansion as soon as possible.

At the Mansion
-Normal Pov-

When Kaiba had gotten back to the mansion with the small figure in his arms, he immediately called his brother to go get the doctor.Mokuba had come running out of the livingroom to see what was wrong when his brother sent him up to the second floor to fetch the doctor who should be in his room at this time of the evening. With a brief nod, Mokuba ran upstairs to fetch him while Seto walked upstairs to bring Rina to an empty guest room near his room. Seto gently laid her on the bed and went to his room to change into some dry clothing.

Once he had re-entered the room about 10 minutes later, the doctor was just finishing checking Rina out and he told Kaiba that she was suffering from exhaustion. There was a female nurse in the room and Kaiba ordered her and Mokuba to go find some dry clothing that would fit her. Mokuba took a long look at the drenched angel in front of him, smirked at his older brother and ran out of the room with the maid in tow.

Seto just sighed and went into his room to do some work until the maid had changed Rina.

Sometime later that night, Rina woke to find herself in a strange bed in a stranger room. It was so huge (......uuuhhhh.....the room.....)! The bed was king size with thick, comfy, light blue quilts on it, and as she looked around she saw that the room was as big as her apartment.

As she looked to her right side, she noticed Seto Kaiba sleeping in a large chair beside the bed. He was stretched out with his legs stright in front of him, and had his head resting on his hand that was resting on the arm of the chair. He looked so innocent and peaceful. She slowly got up out of bed, realizing she was in strange clothing and she was about to yell at Kaiba for stripping her until Hanon materialized beside her.

Her yami stood calmly beside her and sent a small smile her way. [He didn't strip you Rina.] She said. [He had a female nurse come in and chage you while he was out of the room.]

Well that sure made Rina feel better. Now she felt like a fool for jumping to such conclusions. She couldn't believe she was about to yell at him for something she had no proof he had done. Now she was blushing madly and was just glad it was dark out. (Oh...ok...) Was all she could say.

Hanon just smiled at her as she brushed a stray lock of brown hair out of her eyes and Rina saw her blue eyes twinkling with mirth. She could tell her light was embarrassed. Luckily she didn't say anything. She just returned to the choker as Rina stood by the edge of the bed thinking.

After a moment of thinking silently, Rina slowly and quietly walked over to Kaiba and knelt down at his side. She gently reached up a brushed some of his chocolate brown hair out of his face and she smiled at how soft his hair was. She pulled back her hand and went to retrieve the top quilt off the bed, which she then used to cover the sleeping boy. She took a better look around the room and noticed two piles of clothing. One that looked to be brand new, and was a dress. /Yuck!/ Rina thought. /A PINK dress?...eeeeeeewwwwwwww!!/ Shuddering a bit from the horror of seeing such an offending garment, she slowly went over to the other pile of clothing to realize that it was her clothes from earlier. She hesitantly reached out and noticed that they were dry. She looked over to the left wall and saw a bathroom, so she picked up her clothing and was just making her way over to it when a sleepy voice made her jump and drop her arm load.

-Seto's Pov-

I had just woken up because I thought I heard movement in the room, and as I opened my eyes, I could make out the blurry image of Rina silently creeping to the bathroom with her clothes in her arms. I smiled a bit, briefly as I noticed that she chose her clothing again and not that pink obsurdity that the nurse had brought in.

Quickly putting my face back into it's 'I'm-a-cold-hearted-bastard' mask, I slowly sat up and called to her. "And what do you think YOUR doing?" I had to fight back a grin as Rina jumped and spun around with a quiet gasp, to face me.

She just looked at me for a moment and then her face hardened and she replied obviously angrily "I was going to get dressed if you don't mind...wait...what do I care if you mind? I'm going to get dressed." and she turned to go into the bathroom.

Ok, now I was mad. I had tried to help her and this was how she thanked me? "What the hell is your problem? I helped you and gave you a place to stay and you snap at me for no reason! WHAT THE HELL DID I DO NOW??" I yelled. I knew I should be quiet because Mokuba was still sleeping, but I let my anger take control of me. I glared at her back as she just stood motionlessly. All of a sudden she turned to me with a guilty look on her face. I actually stared in shock as all of my anger suddenly felt me and I felt bad for yelling. I had expected her to snap at me, but here she was looking .....apologetic?

-Rina's Pov-

Ok. So he was right. I was being a bitch to him and had no right to be. I don't even know what came over me. One minute he was asking me a simple question and the next I'm snapping at him. I admit that it's kinda fun to watch him get so riled up, but this time I shouldn't have snapped. He was obviously worried about me and as soon as we're both awake and in the same room, I'm ready to rip his head off!

I turned around slowly to face him, knowing that my guilt was showing. I looked into his surprised eyes and slowly walked over to him. He had done so much for me. The least I could do was thank him for it (Not in THAT way...). I stepped up beside him as he sat in the chair watching me uneasily. I knelt down beside him and looked him in the eyes. "Your right. I'm sorry. I don't know why I snapped. I know you did a lot for me and I.....thank you....thank you for helping me and taking care of me." I managed to get out as I looked at the floor. Ok so now I was a bit nervous. I'm kneeling next to Seto Kaiba whom I always seem to fight with and I'm apologizing for snapping at him. I feel so nervous when I'm around him and I end up snapping at him.

Coming back to my senses, I slowly looked back up into his wide, confused eyes and I slowly leaned forward to gently brush my lips against (wait for it.....wait for it......waaaaaiiiiiittttt fffoooorrrrr iiiitttt....sorry couldn't help it LOL) his lips. Just a gentle brush and I was gone. Leaving him obviously staring at me in shock as I went to grab my clothing again and walked briskly into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me, with my face as red as a tomato.

-Normal Pov-

Rina had gone home after that. She had insisted that she was fine and Seto had personally driven her home. As she was got off his motorbike, she turned to him and said "Thank you Kaiba for everything." She blushed a bit as she turned to go, but his voice stopped her from making a single movement.

"You know. You can call me Seto if you want to." He spoke softly as he started his bike up and put his helmet back on before she could see his blush.

Turning around, Rina smiled a bit as him and said "Alright...Seto. Thank you" and she quickly left him there to go into her house.

Shaking his head as he too smiled, Seto set off to his own home in order to get the sleep he needed before tomorrow at school.

The Next Day at School

Rina had walked into the class and as soon as she was sitting in her desk, the gang came up to her. Everyone was wondering where she had gone the previous night. She had just left before anyone could ask if she was alright. It was Yugi who seemed the most concerned.

"Rina, are you alright? You left pretty quickly last night and I hope everything is ok." He spoke quietly while trying not to blush as Tea stood beside him.

The poor girl didn't know what to say. She still felt hurt when she remembered the look Yami had given her and the sense of mistrust that had come from him. Still...the others seemed to like her fine. She didn't want to hurt them. "I'm ok Yugi. I just had to go home." She replied equally as softly. She didn't want to tell him that his yami was the reason she took off like that.

Yugi didn't look convinced but let it slide for now. Joey and Tristan were looking at Rina like a side of roast beef and Tea seemed only slightly curious as to why Rina was being so quiet. They were all about to leave when Yugi remembered something. He turned back to Rina and said "Listen. Yami wanted to talk to you later. Do you mind meeting him at lunch?"

Rina had to tear her eyes away from the guys she was watching carefully. She didn't like the way they looked at her. (They're looking at me like I'm an all you can eat buffet (sorry, that sounded so wrong) Hanon. Why do these two have to be such weirdos?) Rina didn't receive any answer but the quiet chuckling in the back of her head that was her yami.

Slowly she turned to Yugi, still keeping a wary eye on the boys, and replied to his question. "What could he have to talk to me about?" She asked a bit carefully. "I guess I'll find out at lunch. Sure. I guess I'll meet him" She answered.

Yugi looked a bit confused at her wary response, but said nothing about it. He just nodded his head and told her to meet Yami outside at lunch and after Rina nodded her head in agreement, he went to his seat, which left her with an unobstructed view of Seto's blue eyes that were trained on her. He too seemed to be looking at her intensly and she had to wonder why all the guys were acting so strange. /What? Did I forget to put on pants today or something?/ she thought to herself as she discreetly checked herself out to find that she looked ok.

She looked back up to find Seto smirking at her and he quickly shook his head a bit and faced the front of the class. Rina was also about to turn to the front of the class when she felt that she was being watched. She turned and found Yugi....no it wasn't Yugi. His eyes were crimson and he was a bit taller and more confidant looking. This must be what Yami looks like in Yugi's body. She saw YAMI looking at her intensly and he looked at Kaiba and looked back at her with a small smile on his face. This caused her to blush as Yami pointed to his head in indication that he wanted her to read his mind.

Rina nodded briefly and turned back to the front as she let down her guard and slowly went into Yami's mind.

-Rina's Pov-

Well...whatever I expected....this wasn't it. One minute I'm in class and the next, I'm in some dark labrynth type place that seems to defy gravity. I look around me and see stairs and doors that exist in positions that they couldn't possibly exist in. As I'm looking around me, I become aware of another presence here with me. I turn around and right behind me is Yami. I know I have a confused look on my face. Of all the times I've looked into someone's mind, I've never actually ENTERED it!

Yami just looks at me with an amused smirk on his face. "Don't worry. Hanon is in control of your body while your in class. I brought you here because it occured to me that with your telepathy, we needn't wait until lunch to speak." Then his face fell and he looked sad. "I am truly sorry for doubting you. With you here in my mind I can see that you truly can be trusted. It took me a while to see it because Yugi and his friends went through a lot of trouble due to Millenium items and I couldn't be sure that you weren't going to try something to get this one." He looked up at me with large crimson eyes full of tears. "I have never taken such precautions, but it was the mention of your yami that caused me to go on the defensive. Again, I am sorry." And with that, be bowed his head.

I couldn't believe it. I mean I thought this guy hated me or something but to find out that he's just overprotective? I wondered what could have caused him to become like that in the first place and I asked him. He looked at me in surprise, probably shocked to see no hate or anger, just confusion in my eyes. But after a moment, he agreed and we both sat on a nearby flight of stairs as he explained everything they had been through. After everything had been explained I got the sense that he knew that I had a bit of a thing for Kaiba, but to my surprise, he didn't say anything. We decided to just leave the past in the past and become friends. I finally felt happy because the one person who had hurt me with their mistrust had accepted me.

After we bid our farewells, I returned to my mind to find that class had just let out. I hurriedly grabbed my books as Hanon explained everything that had happened in class. And we went to our next class without any major incidents. Of course, I was blushing by the time I got to that class because out in the hallways, Seto had bumped into me and instead of yelling at me, he just looked softly at me with a strange look of tenderness in his eyes.

I still had to deal with people giving me funny looks because I was in the guy's uniform, but I didn't care anymore. Not like I cared in the first place but....Ooohhhh!....you know what I mean! I had friends. I had a guy I lov..../whoa girl! Did that thought....?/ I stopped for a brief moment as I questioned whether or not the word 'LOVE' just crossed my mind, but hurriedly picked up my pace and continued on my way to class. As I entered the room with a blush on my face, and took my seat, it occured to me that yes, I DO love him. I love Seto Kaiba. I smiled as my yami spoke up in my head with one word. [FINALLY!]

At Lunch
-Normal Pov-

Rina was once again eating outside under the tree, Hanon was beside her in her ghost form and they were mentally chatting as Rina worked on a laptop. This time she was just doing her homework. She had already deleted the programs that were her spin offs of KC technology. She felt bad about working on them after she realized how she felt about Seto. She was just working on her english when Hanon suddenly returned to the choker with no warning what so ever, and she looked up to see the very man she had just been thinking about, walking towards her.She slightly blushed as he smiled a warm smile and sat next to her under the tree.

Rina smiled back before looking once again to her laptop and with swift typing, she saved the program and shut down the computer. Seto was a bit surprised that she could work so fast, but didn't let it show. He was here for one reason only. "Rina. I came here because..." Seto hesitated a moment before looking into her curious emerald orbs and finally asking the question. "Would you like to go to the upcoming prom with me?"

The said girl looked surprised and confused for a moment before he realized she probably didn't even know about the prom going on. He was about to explain it when the look of confusion faded and she nodded her head yes. She was excited. She was going to the prom with the man she loved. She'd heard a bit about it and knew that it was going on in about a week. She just forgot.

The two of them sat there under the tree just enjoying each other's company when the bell rang signalling the end of lunch. Rina gathered up her stuff and was about to bid Seto a farewell when she turne to him and was met with his lips against hers. She froze for a second in shock before she realized he was kissing her. He was just about to pull away when she leaned forward and kissed him back. It was a brief kiss. She wanted to prolong it, but knew that they had to get to class, so she pulled away hesitantly and smiled at him before turning and running into the school, with the memory of his warm, soft lips pressed against her own.

After Achool
-Rina's Pov-

I was out at a large mall looking for the perfect dress to wear to the prom. Tea, a woman with long blonde hair, I learned was Mai, and a young girl with auburn hair that I learned was Serenity, were all with me. It seemed Joey had asked Mai to go with him, Ryou had asked Serenity (sorry Tristan fans...I don't like him much), and Yugi had finally had the courage to ask Tea. They all knew I was going, but they didn't know who with. I wanted it to be a surprise. I knew Seto would likely wear a light blue suite, because I knew of his fascination with the Blue Eyes White Dragon. So I wanted something that would go with him and suit me as well. I finally realized the perfect color would be green. Now to find the perfect dress.

We had entered a large formal wear shop that carried tuxedos for men and gowns for women, and with the money that Kaiba had INSISTED I take, I could buy half the dresses in here. I was a bit mad at first. Yelling at him for a good 20 minutes that I should pay for my own dress, but he wouldn't back down, so eventually, I had agreed. Now the four of us were in this store looking through the dresses. Mai, Tea and Serenity had already found their perfect gowns, now they had insisted that they stay and help me find the perfect dress for me. I was really surprised and happy. These were great friends.

I was just browsing some black short dresses when Tea called my name. "Rina! I found the perfect dress for you. It's not green, but it's so beautiful! Come take a look at it."

I went over to where she and Serenity were standing and I almost screamed in horror at what I saw! In her hand was a....dress....I guess (hey that rhymed! LOL...sorry). I looked at the disgusting thing she was holding out and I KNOW I turned green as I checked out the pink, frilly.....THING! It looked like some kind of bubblegum experiment gone wrong. I just turned and walked briskly over to the nearest trash can and tried not to lose my lunch. I should have told Tea that I wouldn't be caught DEAD in pink. I know she likes the color and Serenity doesn't mind it, but PLEASE! I'll stick to my green and blue thank you very much.

Mai came walking over to where I was leaned over the trash can gagging and mentioned that she had found a gorgeous dark green gown and had asked the sales lady to hold it until I came in. I shakily thanked her and turned back to the can as a fresh wave of nausea hit me. It only took a moment for Tea and Serenity to come rushing over to see if I was alright and I had to explain to them that I really, REALLY hated pink. After a moment of shock at my news, the girls all burst out laughing at the fact that I'd had such a violent reaction to the color. It took me a moment to realize that I guess it was a bit funny.

After we had managed to calm down, I went back inside to the clerk and asked her about the dress my friends and put aside for me. The young lady smiled brightly and brought me over to a change room and told me the dress was inside. I thanked her before walking in to find the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. It was a long, elegant dress that came down to my toes and had a small train on the back of it. It was made of the darkest green silk that shone like emeralds, and it was a spagetti strap, and form fitting. The neck was a V-neck that showed quite a bit of my cleavage, but hid just enough to make me look classy. Then around the waist was small diamonds all embroidered into the dress itself. The diamond glittered brilliantly around my waist as I twirled in the dress. There was also a slit up one side of the skirt that came up dangerously high on my thigh. It made me look seductive and elegant at the same time. It fit me perfectly and I loved it. It was probably the only dress I've ever seen that I even remotely liked, and I LOVED it!

I came out of the dressing room in the gown, and everyone in the store either fainted or started gushing about how beautiful I looked. Even the clerk was in shock. She told me that I looked so good in it and that it was one of a kind. Mai just stood there with a smirk of triumph on her face, knowing she had yet again, picked out the perfect dress. Serenity was on the ground fanning the fallen Tea who had fainted after seeing me in that dress, and Serenity herself looked like she was in awe. I smiled brightly at my friends and went in to change back into my regular clothing.

The gown had been expensive, but not as much as I thought it would be. I had it in a dark green box that matched the color of the dress, and I had boughten a few accessories to go with the dress. I carried everything into my apartment and put it all aside and got the money I had left to give it back to Seto. Then I crawled into bed and just collapsed. I've never been so tired in my life! After a few minutes of silent contemplating, I eventually fell asleep and dreamt sweet dreams.

The Night of the Prom
-Seto's Pov-

/Finally!/ I thought. The night of the Prom was finally here. After Rina had come back from shopping she insisted on giving me back the rest of the money I had given her, but I was surprised. I just stood there for a moment as she tried to hand the left over money back to me, and then an uncharacteristic smirk crossed my face as I pushed her hand aside and reached out to wrap my hands around her waist and pull her against me. It'll be about 6 more hours until the dance starts, so I have some time to play. I held her against me and watched as she blushed a cherry red and nervously brushed a strand of her luscious brown hair behind her ear. I'm really glad I thought to invite her to live with me. She fought for a bit and I thought that maybe it was a big mistake, but then she smiled at me. A shy but happy smile, and I knew I had made the right decision.

I leaned forward and whispered against her lips "so....when are you going to show me that dress you bought?" I'd been dying to see it really. I closed in and took her lips in a gentle and yet passionate kiss, deepening it almost immediately. She moaned against my mouth as she leaned into the kiss, but after a moment, she pulled away with a miscievious smirk on her face, and her emerald eyes dancing in amusement. She pointed her index finger at me and shook it back and forth as she murmured "uh uh" and then she turned and took off down the hallway and into her room before I knew what had happened.

I smiled back. A true smile. I was so happy with her. Somehow she made me feel whole. I slowly walked down to her door and knocked on it softly. "Rina" I called. "Let me in. Please? I'll behave." /As if.../ I thought. I knew I should becareful. I found out about Rina's telepathy a while ago and at first I didn't believe it until she started repeating every single thing that went through my mind but not past my lips. I was a bit unnerved at first, but then I realized it didn't make her any different, just harder to fool if I ever had a surprise for her. I had to be really careful thought because that day I was mad about something at work and then finding out about Rina...I said some nasty things I shouldn't have said and Rina came out of the kitchen with a frying pan and before I knew what was happening, I was out cold on the ground with a huge lump on my head.

Ever since that day, I had been a lot more careful about what I said and thought. I'd seen her deck Joey several times for seemingly no reason, until I later found out that she had read his mind he was thinking hentai thoughts about her. I was ready to clobber him for that, but my new girlfriend held me back and just calmed me down by telling me that she and her yami Hanon were going to get him back soon. Needless to say, after school that day, Joey ended up streaking home because he couldn't find any of his clothing after coming out of the school shower. Rina and Hanon were standing right by the front doors and were laughing their asses off and I realized that this was what they meant. I just laughed and realized that I loved her even more for her temper.

Back to the present moment, I'm still outide Rina's door. But I realize that I'll see the dress soon enough and I have some work to do, so I tell her and she opens the door long enough to give me one of those heart-searing kisses that leave me unable to walk OR talk, and closes the door as she says "I'll be there in a few hours to remind you about the dance." After a moment of regaining my senses, I slowly walk to my office to get some work done.

2 Hours Until the Prom
-Normal Pov-

Seto Kaiba was working swiftly on his laptop when he heard a knock on his door. Looking at the time, his eyes widened. It was about 2 hours before the prom started. He looked back to the door and called for whoever it was to come in. As he watched the door, it opened and a towel wrapped Rina stepped in. Seto's eyes widened when he realized she was completely naked under that towel and he felt his body beginning to get warm. He knew he was blushing so he looked down and told her "I saw the time. I'll begin getting ready now."

Rina just smiled noticing how awkward Seto seemed to be at this particular moment, with her in the room in nothing but a large white towel. "Alright Seto. I'll be in my room getting ready. When your done, meet me downstairs at the front door." And with that, she turned and left the room, leaving behind a light fragrance of lavender.

Seto just took a moment to gather his incoherent thoughts before he shut down his computer, got up, and went to get ready.

In Rina's room she had just slipped on the green gown and was starting on her accessories. Her hair had already been done up in an elegant bun on the top of her head, with a few strategically placed strands hanging down and a few framing her face.

Her accessories were, a gold and diamond necklace that hung just around her collarbone and framed her choker nicely. She had on golden bracelettes and a few golden pins in her hair. All in all, she looked like an angel. Her make-up was a light touch of dark brown eyeshadow to bring out her eyes, and a thin layer of clear lip gloss. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she was quite amazed at how she looked. She twirled around once before deciding to head down and give Seto a heart attack. Ginning happily, she slowly walked out of her room and to the top of the stairs.

"Seto" She called. She listened hoping he was already down there. After a moment, an answer was heard. "Yes Rina?" Rina just giggled. She knew he was at the bottom of the stairs and so she slowly started down them. She walked gracefully and confidently as she knew the skirts were flowing around her legs. She was holding up the front of her dress a bit to keep from tripping on it and as she walked she was revealed to be wearing emerald, open toed, high heeled, slippers, with a strap that tied around her ankles and a golden ankle bracelette on her right ankle.

-Seto's Pov-

As I stood at the bottom of the stairs I wondered why Rina had called my name. I was about to go upstairs to make sure she was ok when I heard someone coming down. Somehow i knew it was her, so I stood patiently at the bottom of the stairs waiting for her. The first thing I saw was the hem of her skirt and her green shoes. I had to admit that the way they fit her delicate ankles made me blush. As she slowly walked farther down the stairs, I held my breath. The dress was perfect for her. It hugged her frame and accented all of her curves, then flares out a bit in a lose skirt that clearly, if it wasn't being held up, would stop at her toes. The slender straps of the dress hugged her shoulders nicely and the color brought out her fair complextion. I couldn't help but glance at the amount of cleavage shown. I'm a guy, sorry, I couldn't help it. When I saw her, my breath caught in my throat and all I could do was stare, wide eyed at the angel that was coming down the long flight of stairs to meet me. As I saw her, all dressed up for the Prom, I realized...she was too good for the Prom.

Rina looked me in the eyes with a knowing smirk and I knew she had read my mind. My face felt like it was on fire and I'm sure I must have turned another 10 shades of red. I kept forgetting about her power and kept thinking things I knew I shouldn't. I was lucky though because she didn't seem to mind. She would often just smile at me. As Rina made it to the bottom of the stairs she let her smirk fade and replaced it with a true smile. I walked forward and she took my arm. I was wearing a light blue silk suit with a white button down shirt underneith and dark blue dress shoes. Still, next to her I might as well have been dressed in rags. Again she flashed me that knowing smirk. I know I was going to end up passing out from the rush of blood to my face over and over again.

-Normal Pov-

Rina and Seto were at the dance. When they had arrived everyone was staring at them like they were celebrities. Well, Seto WAS a celebrity, but Rina? The guys were litterally drooling all over their dates when they saw her, but the girls didn't even notice because they were drooling just as hard over THEIR dates when Seto walked in. Now everyone had calmed down learning that Rina and Seto were together, and most of the drool was cleaned up. Still there WAS the occassional slip on a left over puddle.

Rina and Seet had been standing by the bleachers when a slow song came on and Seto found himself turning to ask if Rina would dance with him. She immediately brightened and said yes. Gently taking her hand, he walked with her to the middle of the floor, careful to avoid any drool puddles, and pulled her against him. As they danced, Rina found herself being held tightly against her boyfriend's lean frame. Her arms around his neck and his arms wrapped around her waist in order to keep her close.

They danced for quite some time before going to take a seat and have a break. Rina looked out around the room and spotted her friends. Yugi and Yami were both there in black tuxedos. Yugi was with Tea who was dressed in a short dress that was (wait for it....) PINK! Rina shuddered slighty at the sight. How can ANYONE like that color? She saw that Yami was with a woman who had long black hair and light blue eyes. She was dressed in a golden colored gown that was fairly simple yet it looked stunning on her, with her tan complextion (can anyone guess who I am talking about?). She saw Joey was in a red suit (curesty of his love for Red Eyes Black Dragon) with black trim, and was with Mai who was in a strapless deep violet gown that came to her knees with her hair in an elegant french braid. Then next, she saw Tristan who was also dressed in a black tuxedo but it seemed he was dateless. She saw Ryou in a white tuxedo with Serenity who was dressed in a long floor length white, gown. It too was simple, but looked great on her. Her long auburn hair was left down her back and was slighty curled to give it more character.

Rina smiled at the way all of her friends seemed so happy and turned her attention back to her date beside her that was looking out over the crowd as well. She slowly reached up a brushed some of his brown hair out of his eyes and he slowly turned to look at her with a soft smile on his face. Rina just smiled back before leaning in and capturing his lips in a heated kiss that promised many things. He kissed her back with just as much passion before pulling away and looking into her shining emerald eyes and asking if she wanted to go home. She nodded her head yes and the new couple carefully made their way to the door only stopping when they heard a loud yell.

Turning they happened to watch Tristan as he inadvertantly stepped in a puddle of drool and went sliding across the room on one foot while yelling bloody murder. Just as everyone thought he was going to get out of it unscathed, he ended up tripping and flying face first into the opposite wall. Laughing, Rina and Seto turned and left the Prom, the memories of tonight's fun staying with them and keeping them smiling the whole night.

Back at the Kaiba Mansion

Rina and Seto were just sitting on the couch laughing still about what had happened at the Prom. Trust Tristan to liven up the place by making a complete fool of himself. Mokuba was at a friend's house for the night while Seto had pulled off his light blue jacket and was seated comfortably next to his girlfriend Rina. She had pulled off her shoes and was lounging next to him in such a way where her legs were crossed and the slit in the dress was draped over her legs to show off a tantalizing amount of skin.

Seto looked at her and thought about how she never looke more beautiful than she did now. This caused Rina to look over at him with the hint of a miscevious smile playing at her lips. She smirked at Seto's now red face before she leaned in and gave him a deep kiss that promised to steal the very soul from his body. Seto in turn reached out and pulled her into his lap and kissed her back, pouring his love for her into the seemingly simple action. Breaking from the kiss, he leaned toward her even more and kissed the side of her neck eliciting a slight gasp from her as he smirked and whispered in her ear "I love you."

Rina was shocked for a moment. She never thought she'd hear those words from the famous cold hearted CEO of KC, but her shock quickly faded away as she turned to him and whispered back "I love you too Seto." Then she closed the small gap between their lips and gave him an even deeper kiss and they stayed like that for the rest of the night. Held in each other's arms and loving the way it felt.

They were in love, and nothing would ever tear them apart. With that thought on their minds, they slowly fell asleep, each dreaming of what the future held for them.
