When Ryou arrived back in his chambers that evening, he felt all squishy inside.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the Pharaoh has feelings for you Ryou, you hold a great resemblance to Bakura; plus you are what he always wanted. You are like another Bakura with his dream personality: sweet, unselfish, compassionate, submissive and obedient," Malik said.

"But can I return those feelings?" many thoughts twisted into pretzels in the young boy's mind and he held his head in confusion, "He raped me…I'm his slave…he hurt me…but…" he remembered the warm smile on his Master's face, "he saved my life…"

As he sat on his bed something crinkled from underneath his bottom. Squealing in surprise he bounded off, watching a small piece of papyrus fall to the ground. Picking it up Ryou read the neat hieroglyphics, Come to the main hall; I will meet you there. You shall be dining with me tonight. ~Yami

Ryou stared at the small note. His Master signed it with his name, not 'Your Master'; how surprising…

He noticed new garments laid out for him. "Waaa…" the quality of the material stunned the young boy. Silk, he's never seen silk before, and of such a beautiful pearl white colour, lined with gold. Eager to try it on he stripped quickly and donned the beautiful robes. As he admired himself in front of the mirror while smoothing out his hair with a comb he smiled; he bet he's the first slave to ever wear such royal clothing.

Forgetting his troubles for now he slid on his new, soft slippers and ran out to the doors.

Yami stood patiently waiting for Ryou to arrive when he saw the small boy bounding towards him.

"Good evening Master!" the boy smiled; the first smile the Pharaoh ever saw on the boy since his arrival to his palace; and Ra did he ever have such a beautiful smile that illuminated his entire face.

"Good evening Ryou, I see you are wearing your new attire," Yami looked the teen up and down, his breath catching in his airway at how stunning this young creature is. The silk hung delicately off his body, framing it. His pale skin seemed to glow from the light reflected off the gold lining of the material and his hair, soft and lustrous.

"I assumed that because I'll be dining with you, Master, that this was meant to be worn for the occasion," Ryou blushed, turning away from Yami's stares.

"And so it is," Yami said slowly, shaking himself out of his reverie, "Come." He placed his hand on Ryou's back and led him towards the dining hall, "It will be just you and I, so it may seem a little empty."

"That's alright Master."

They came to a stop on front of large doors. Servants that were standing at the side rushed to open them for their Pharaoh. As they stepped through they could hear their hushed discussion about the young boy that was following.

Ryou's eyes grew wide as he gazed at what was inside, "Ahhh!" And he thought the bath and his bedroom was elegant. He's never seen such a beautiful place; a long, intricately etched black table awaited the presence of people, many chairs of the same colour and designs lined it all around. A deep red cloth draped over the middle, candles balanced on top. The room itself was full of warm, rich colours, painted and embossed entirely with as many designs as the table. Hundreds of candles sat in the walls, lighting up the place in a soft light.

Yami felt another smile tugging at his lips as he stared at his beautiful slave; the boy's dark orbs sparkling with wonder as he stared about him. It warmed his heart to see Ryou loving the place so much; many people who lived in the palace took the place for granted, used to such royalty and never had time to admire its beauty, so it usually lay unseen to the eyes of his subjects.

"It's beautiful," Ryou breathed, as he slowly stepped further into the room.

Yami sat at the head and the pale teen to his right. Immediately servants began to rush in with food. "I normally don't use it unless I have guests, but I decided to let you see it tonight."

Ryou's mouth watered as a plate of steaming food was placed in front of him. At his Master's nod he picked up his fork and knife delicately and carved into the meat. "But why treat me to such a thing Master?" He normally would not ask many questions, but in this peaceful mood, he felt a little bolder.

"Because…I don't know," Yami chewed on his meat, thinking about the question. He expected them to come from the boy but he hasn't really thought of the answers yet; and telling Ryou that he loved him might just shock the teen too much at the moment. "I just felt that you deserve something nice after all you've been through."

He meant the comment to be casual but Ryou looked shocked anyways; Yami never even gave his feelings a second glance the many times he took him, so why would after one incident revolving around the torture chamber make a difference? His problems returned to his thoughts; was the Pharaoh doing this because he wanted to woo him? Was his Master really in love with him like Malik and Marik claims?

The young boy could feel a bond slowly developing between him and his Master. Yami did indeed save his life, for that Ryou will forever be in his debt. And as he gazed at the Pharaoh, gently forking meat and vegetables in his mouth in a cultured manner; his face smooth and relaxed in the candlelight, his crimson eyes in deep serenity; he did not see the vicious, sadistic, cruel person that raped him many times, but a hard working, kind Pharaoh wise beyond his age, concerned greatly for his kingdom that causes him to stress excessively to see to its well being.

"Master…?"

"Call me Yami, Ryou," the tri-coloured haired young man said, one of his hands coming to a rest on top of Ryou's pale ones, "I'm referring to you by name now; I believe it's only fair that you called me by name as well…"

"But you said…"

"Forget that rule."

"Yami……sama," the boy said softly, getting used to the new way of addressing.

The Pharaoh smiled, the way Ryou said his name was absolutely wondrous, clear and gentle.

"Yami-sama… Thank you so much…for everything."

Yami could feel his heart melting away its cold walls; he felt as if he could share anything with the beautiful young teen beside him. He knew that Ryou probably will never return his feelings because of what he's done to the boy; but unlike what he did to Bakura, he just wants Ryou to be the happiest person in the world, and he wants to make Ryou happy. He'll even set the young slave free if he has to.

Nearing the end of the dinner, Yami began to notice Ryou becoming uncomfortable, twiddling his thumbs and playing with his food, poking at the dessert. "Something wrong Ryou? Is the dessert not sweet enough?"

"No! Master, I mean…Yami-sama…it's delicious…it's just," the boy swallowed softly, "Do you…need…of my services…tonight?"

The Pharaoh's heart clenched at the question, seeing for the first time in truth the fear that reflected off the boy's chocolate eyes, threatening to cry. "No Ryou…no…in fact…I don't think I'll need your services for awhile. You get yourself some sleep tonight, rest…" No longer had he had the desire to hurt the boy. After seeing the guards' intentions a mirror of how he is with the young slave, he gets sick at the thought.

"T-thank you Yami-sama," Ryou stammered, bubbling with emotion. Without thinking he leapt out of his chair and flung his arms around the Pharaoh's neck, hugging him.

Awkwardly, Yami returned the embrace, breathing in the soft aroma from the teen's silvery hair, I love you…

Author: Sorry it's so short but it seemed like the perfect place to end! Don't kill me!

Ryou: Wow!!! I actually have a happy chapter for once!

Author: How about this? Since it's short, I'll only need 5 reviews before I update another one for you guys! If I get five reviews early, I'll try to see if I can get another chapter done by tonight! Love you people!!!

Ryou: Me too!!!

Oh! Here's a teaser for the next chapter! :

Yami stroked Ryou's hair gently, the boy resting against his chest on his luxurious bed, "You seem perturbed Ryou…are you still afraid of me?"

"No Yami-sama!" Ryou pressed his head more firmly upon the Pharaoh's chest, listening to the young man's heartbeat, "I've just been having things on my mind…that's all…"

"Tell me about them."

The young boy took a deep breath, he knew he had to ask, Marik was waiting for an answer, and he promised to find out for the Egyptian, "Bakura…what happened to Bakura?"
