Chaos's Forward Notes: I'm sorry I haven't updated in a long time and to those of you who like this story, this is the final chapter. A few lyrics in the song had to be changed to match the story. I deleted the previous chapter three after I thought this up. I hope this satisfies all you readers and until next time, ja'ne minna-san. *bows*

//All alone staring on, watching his life go by
When his days are grey and his nights are black
Different shades of mundane
And the one-eyed furry toy that lies upon the bed has often heard him cry
And his whisper of a name long forgiven but not forgotten//
A figure entered the quiet cemetery, careful not to disturb the peaceful souls laying six feet under the ground. Footsteps were heard by the autumn leaves on the ground as the person walked slowly towards their destination, taking in the time to think everything over that had lead one of the most important people in his life to take their own.
"I hate you! You stole everything away from me, you damn bastard!!"
"Yugi......aibou, please......"
Yami Mutou blinked back the tears that threatened to spill. The argument was still fresh within his mind, the argument that had sealed away everything.
"Just get out of my life, Yami! Everything was fine until you came along and ruined it!"
The door slammed.
He had tried to put everything into the past but everything around him reminded him of the small teen, the innocent light he had let slip through his fingers like wisps of smoke. It was hard to believe nobody had visited his aibou's grave in the year that had passed since his death, not even his aibou's former boyfriend, who had put most of the blame on his own shoulders.
"Yugi, why are you with him? He tried to kill us!"
A bitter laugh. "You, Yami. He was after you, not me. There is no us. There never was. And as for your question, at least he notices me. At least he cares."
Yami fingered the four roses in his hands -- each different colours -- as he approached his destination at the other side of the cemetery covered in shadows. Red for his eye colour, violet for his aibou's, black for darkness, white for light.

Yugi's spirit sat on the tombstone, hunched over with his knees drawn up to his chest in a ball. His glorious angel wings were tainted black, symbolizing hatred and darkness and regret. Amethyst eyes narrowed even more at the presence of the other one who had stolen it all away. But that was the way life was -- one minute you had it all, the next nothing. He was the only spirit still roaming the earth in this graveyard of tombstones. Most of the others had either been reincarnated or accepted into their respectful places in the afterlife. He was neither. He had unfinished business in the place between heaven and hell and until he finished it he could go nowhere. He had watched a year go by, watching with jealousy as people came and sent prayers up to their loved ones. But his was the lonely tombstone, surrounded in shadows and darkness at the end of the cemetery. The light that had once filled his heart had become dim when Malik went away to Egypt with his sister, dimmer when he saw everyone all happy and crap.
Yugi sat there silently as he watched the former pharaoh clean away the long-dead flowers and replace them with the four roses he held in his hands. A delicate eyebrow raised as he read his mind on what each symbolized. 'I'll be......he does care.........'
//A bleeding heart torn apart left on an icy grave
In the room where they once lay face to face, nothing could get in their way
But now the memories of the man are haunting his days and the craving never fades
He's still dreaming of a man long forgiven, but not forgotten//
"Your death shocked everyone I think. To learn that you had taken your own life left us all suspended in that moment. You have no idea what your death took its toll on, do you, aibou? Ra, I don't deserve to call you that, not after ignoring you for so long and making you do what you did. Malik placed most of the blame on himself but each of us has somehow contributed to it. I suppose you should know how everyone's doing now. It surprised us all, can you believe Katsuya and Shizuka are engaged? I know they're close siblings but they didn't have to go that far. We're all supportive though. Bakura and Otogi are still together, so are Anzu and Mai. Miho moved back to Domino and got together with Honda. One of our most surprising couples is Ryou and Mokuba, who knew? As for Malik......" Yami sighed, shaking his head. "He's still deep in the shock. Isis says he almost never comes out of his room and he's all pale from no sun, he's not eating much either. We all miss you, aibou, he just shows it the most."
//You're forgiven not forgotten
You're forgiven not forgotten
You're forgiven not forgotten
You're not forgotten//
//Still alone, staring on
Wishing his life goodbye
As he goes searching for the man long forgiven but not forgotten//
Yami stood, wrapping his arms around his upper arms. It was getting late and cold. "Aibou, I know it was mostly because of me, wasn't it? That argument we had is still fresh in my memory, I can hear your voice perfectly clear and I want to hold onto that memory, no matter how much it hurts. It's the only way I can hear your voice." Yugi was surprised that a tear slipped down the ancient pharaoh's cheek, followed by more. "I still have nightmares about it before seeing myself walking into your room and finding your body, covered in blood. Your room hasn't been open since then -- it's boarded up and everything is still the way it was. I don't allow anyone to come in contact with the door, not even Seto. I guess you can say I'm obsessed with keeping our memories alive. I'm just sorry. For everything." He turned and began walking away, hands in his pockets.
Yugi uncurled himself from his ball, surprise etched in his once hate-filled amethyst eyes. It wasn't their fault, it was his. He made everyone's lives miserable from what he did, completely and utterly miserable. "I want a way to fix it all," he whispered to himself, getting down from the tombstone and standing on his own grave. "I want......I want to be reborn."
"I've been waiting for you to say that, Yugi." He turned around at the familiar voice, his face brightening somewhat when he saw his grandfather's spirit. Sugoroku held out his hand and Yugi took it, both spirits disappearing just as the sun finally settled down on the dark part of the graveyard.

"Which one of our orphans would you like to adopt, Mutou-san?" Matron gestured to the children playing in the den. Yami felt a tug on his heart as forbidden memories came up into his mind. Each one was just as innocent as his aibou once had been, laughing happily and chasing each other. One of the children caught his eye, huddled in a corner with shadows looming over him. Stunning violet eyes looked dully at the plushie he held in his hands -- a Dark Magician. He had an air of unhappiness around him, which made Yami drawn to him even more.
"That one in the corner......what is his name?" he asked. Matron looked and shook her head.
"That one is Kage Kinomoto. He's by himself all the time, won't play with the other children. There's faded scars on his wrist but according to his birth certificate, he was born with them. I'm not sure why though. Do you wish to adopt him?"
'The scars......surely......' Yami nodded. "Yes."
