Ryou and Bakura
Chapter One
Ryou walked through the Domino City Park. He didn't have anywhere in particular to go really, he had simply wanted to clear his head. It had been a while since the Battle City Finals and he really wanted to tell Bakura how he really felt about him, but the small boy didn't have a clue on how to bring it up. Bakura would surely wind up hurting him in the end. The teen sighed as he walked; he stared at his at his feet shuffling along the beaten path and kicked errant stones out of his way. After a few moments of aimless walking, he looked up and saw Bakura sitting on a park bench. Bakura seemed to sense that some one was watching him and he looked up to see his lighter side standing not a few feet away and staring at him. The former tomb robber got up and proceeded to hurry in the opposite direction. He didn't want to speak to the small boy, at least not yet.
'Not now,' he thought to himself, refusing to look back at Ryou, 'I'm not ready...'
The Yami started to walk at a brisk pace, but Ryou stopped him.
"Bakura, please don't go," Ryou begged, grabbing his yami's jacket. "Why do you keep ignoring me?"
"Let me go," Bakura warned, coldly.
"Bakura, please, tell me what's wrong." Ryou pleaded, not letting go.
Bakura growled and backhanded Ryou across the face with all of his force, "I'll tell you when I feel like it!" The dark one growled, walking away.
With that, Bakura stalked out of the park, leaving his sad, lonely host standing there dazed.
'Bakura,' the young one thought, as tears streamed down his cheeks. He watched the retreating form of his dark self with sad hollow eyes. 'Why do you continue to hurt me?'
'Ryou, I'm sorry,' Bakura thought, as he headed back to Ryou's apartment. 'I wish I could tell you, but I can't.'

That night, Bakura sensed his lighter side was having a nightmare. He tried to ignore it, but opened his eyes at the sound of Ryou's voice calling his name through their link.
/Bakura! / Ryou yelled, /Don't go! Bakura! /
Bakura got out of his bed, walked out of his room, and went into Ryou's. As he entered Ryou's room, Ryou tossed and turned, calling his name and crying in his sleep.
"Bakura!" Ryou cried in his sleep again.
Bakura sat on his light's bed and shook him, "Ryou, wake up!"
Ryou awoke at the sound of his yami's voice and sat up. He quickly threw his arms around Bakura and cried into his chest.
"Bakura, I was so scared." Ryou sobbed.
"Ryou, it's ok. I'm here now." Bakura said gently, putting an arm around him. This was all he knew how to do for the small boy, he was still rather unfamiliar in the art of comfort.
"Don't leave me." Ryou pleaded, "Please don't leave me." Ryou looked up at him with sadness in his eyes.
"No, now go back to bed!" Bakura snapped, coldly.
More tears ran down Ryou's cheeks, and he just cried while holding Bakura close to him.
"Quit crying already," Bakura sighed. "Alright. I'll stay in here until you fall asleep."
"Thank you." Ryou whispered, snuggling into his yami's chest, still crying.
Bakura grew tense as Ryou fell asleep against him.
'Stupid mortal feelings. Why am I feeling this way?' Bakura wondered as he held the small boy in his arms.
The Tomb Robber snuggled under the covers beside Ryou, and held him tighter. Bakura looked down at the small boy in his arms. The was no doubt in his mind that he was beautiful, and so before being able to restrain himself, he kissed the top of Ryou's head. A smile of contentment appeared on Ryou's lips as he slept peacefully in Bakura's strong arms. Bakura sighed his light looked so much like an angel, and he seemed so much more content, now that he was in Bakura's arms
'I wonder what he was dreaming about,' Bakura thought. Deciding not to obsess over it Bakura sighed and closed his eyes. With in moments he was lost in the world of sleep.
