Chapter 2- Love Is A Complicated Thing

Light from the small circular windows poured out into the bedroom brightly illuminating, announcing the new day in a cheerful golden glow. This very cheerfulness, however, Jou wished would go away for at least another hour or so.

Jou groaned turning away from the brilliant radiance of the suns rays lightly dancing on the bed's edge and snuggled up against his ryu. Jou had quickly discovered that Seto was excellent for cuddling as he fit so nicely up against Seto's slim, muscled body.

Seto made a short grunt positioning him self to hold his precious koinu better, having their bodies wrap around each other, legs entwined and Jou head now resting on Seto's neck.

Seto chuckled as Jou gave a few affectionate licks to Seto's exposed neck.

"C'mon, pup. Up!" Seto said lightly swatting Jou on his rear.

"What if I don't wanna?" Jou asked tightly wrapping his arms around Seto.

"Koinu, it's nine now."

"We can stay here for another hour."

"All the Danish pastries will be gone," Seto reminded him.

"I like snuggling with you better," Jou replied nuzzling Seto's collarbone.

"As flattered as I am, when I say get up, I mean it," Seto smirked sending his hand into Jou's boxers.

"Waaaaaah! Alright, alright, I'm up!" Jou screeched tumbling out of the bed and scrambling away from Seto.

Seto burst out laughing.

"You disgusting pervert!" Jou snapped clawing at the wall.

"Only when it comes to you," Seto retorted sliding out and getting dressed.

Jou started to get dressed as well and soon they both headed out into the common room where breakfast was now being served and also where Otogi was anxiously waiting for him.

"Jou!" Otogi burst out with a tearful cry embracing him. "I was sooo worried about you! Where were you?"

"I was wondering the same thing too," Yugi added in. "When Otogi and Honda told me you had been gone all night I came to worrying to."

"Ah, sorry Yugi, I didn't mean to alarm anyone I was..."Jou looked over at Seto and forcing himself away from Otogi. As soon as he did, Seto turned his head away suddenly finding the far right wall interesting.

"...I was in the kitchen getting something to eat and then I accidentally fell asleep and..." Jou lied.

Anzu, Yugi, and Honda all gave Jou a puzzled look as he bumbled on with his poorly developed lie and Otogi eyed him suspiciously.

"Jou! You really are brain-dead aren't you?! Falling asleep in the kitchen!" Honda remarked.

Jou would have retorted if his mind wasn't buzzing with so many other issues, all of them pertaining to Seto.

"He probably doesn't want anyone to find out about us yet...or maybe he NEVER wants them to know...or even...he doesn't want me anymore...period," Jou sighed making a glance at Seto that now projected the same antipathy to all beings he had been infamous for, except for last night. Last night, and even this morning, he had a warm, fuzzy aura that was so welcoming. It gave Jou a feeling of security and made him realize how a benevolent kid like Mokuba could love such a cold, and seemingly empty man. But Seto had proved to Jou that he wasn't as vindictive as everyone thought. He, when he actually wanted to, could understand people's feelings. He could reach right into Jou's soul and make him feel how he wanted to, and Jou wanted to feel safe and protected.

After Jou's mother left with Serenity, Jou's father had taken up the despicable art of alcohol abuse and the even more depraved hobby of child abuse. Jou had been slapped around by his father far to many times with nights that Jou would have died a thousand deaths for the sun to rise faster so that he may escape his home of hell and to the sanctuary of school and his friends; and you HAD to be desperate to be at the point where you looked forward to school.

Last night was the first night in Jou's life that he felt so secure and truly happy. Seto's strong warm embrace became an impenetrable fortress, which even the cruelest words or scars given to him by his father seemed to dissipate into nothingness. Last night was special and Jou wouldn't forget it for the world.

Jou's friends looked at him worriedly, as Jou stood there in a daze.

"Jou-kun?" Yugi said nervously walking up to his friend. Jou had NEVER behaved like this before and, quite frankly, it was creeping them out!

"Huh? Oh, um, sorry guys, I guess I spaced out. I think I'll go back to my room to change out of my clothes. I'll catch you guys later!" Jou said waving them off as he head toward the personal guest chambers.

"Ja ato de!"* Yugi cried after his as he walked off.

Once Jou disappeared, Yugi let out a sigh. "Jou's definitely been acting differently lately, hasn't he Otogi?" Yugi commented turning to his right to see Otogi's reaction, only to find Otogi was no longer beside him or even in the common room, for that matter. "Otogi?!"

Jou let out a deep sigh taking off his tunic once the door was closed behind him. A whirlwind of confusion over Seto and his future together and how it could end up flooded his mind. He could clearly see Seto refusing him with a harsh slap and declaring what they had was a one-night stand.

"And besides," Seto sneered in Jou's vision, "how can a possibly want any sort of relationship with nothing but a blushing virgin?! One who's so afraid of something as simple as sex? You pathetic little mutt."

Jou let the tears flow down at this very possible outcome. Hastily wiping them away he changed out of his shoes, pants, and boxers.

"You truly do have a beautiful body, a masterpiece carved by the gods," Otogi purred taking in the sight of a nude Jou.

"How the hell did you get in here?!" Jou cried desperately trying to cover himself with his discarded clothes.

"Now, now Jou. I have a card key to this room as well, seeing as I sleep here too," Otogi said waving a finger at him. "And now I intend to live up to the joys of sharing a bedroom...with you."

Jou's eyes were wide with horror as Otogi approached him, licking his lips enticingly.

Tears began to flow down Jou's cheeks once again. "Seto...help me!"
