Sometimes the snow comes down in June.

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon.

I see the passion in your eyes,

sometimes it's all a big surprise.

'Cause there was a time that all I did was wish,

you tell me this was love.

It's not the way I'd hope or how I planned,

but somehow it's enough.

And now we're standing face to face

isn't this world a crazy place.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

you go and save the best for last.

All of the nights you came to me,

when some sillygirlhad set you free.

You wondered how you'd make it through,

I wondered what was wrong with you.

'Cause how could you give your love to someone else

and share your dreams with me.

Sometimes the very things you're looking for,

Is the one thing you can't see.

But now we're standing face to face

Isn't this world a crazy place.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

you go and save the best for last.

La, la , la, la, la, la

Sometimes the very things you're looking for

Is the one thing you can't see.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

You go and save the best for last.

You went and saved the best for last...yea.

Ryou hated housework. He even hated it more than unrequited love which unfortunately was something that he experienced daily. There was on thing which made dusting better and that was singing along to his favorite tunes. His main one had to be "Save the best for Last" by Vanessa Williams. Ryou didn't know why he liked that song so much, maybe because deep down he hoped that his love would save the best for last. As the song reached his crescendo Ryou span round and belted out the song fading out with the music. For a moment Ryou stood happily in his own world of happy thoughts until a sound penetrated through his skull…someone was clapping. Ryou frowned he knew Bakura wasn't home; his eyes darted round the room and spied the open window. Quietly Ryou sneaked over and looked down to see Yugi smiling innocently up at him. Ryou jumped back wanting to get away from the eyes. Cautiously he peaked back over and was happy to see Yugi was back to relatively normal.

"Great singing Ryou. Can I come in?"

"Yeah sure the doors open." Ryou wasn't sure he wanted Yugi in his house; lately the boy had been showing a dark side and it quite frankly creeped Ryou out but he didn't want to offend Yugi who's other side and lover was an ancient Pharaoh.

"Hey Ryou! Nice apron." Giggled Yugi as he entered. Swiftly Ryou disposed of the garment…what he liked pink lace there was nothing wrong with that! Ignoring Ryou's burning cheeks Yugi carried on, "So is Bakura in?"

"No out on a date…again. I think that's the fifth guy this month."

"And do you still love him?"

"Of course!" Ryou groaned slumping down into a nearby settee.

"And does he come moaning to you every time he gets dumped?" Yugi asked

"Yes. He's always telling me he wishes he could meet a decent bloke and settle down."

"I think it you he wants, maybe not consciously but deep down!" Yugi said earnestly

"You really think?" asked Ryou hope rising in his throat.

"Yeah. Anyway I've got to go meet Yami now he's taking me on a date to the movies and I can't wait!" Yugi air kissed his cheeks and bounced out. Ryou felt a great wave of sadness, Yugi didn't mean to do it but seeing the smaller boy so happy with his dark half made Ryou feel all his own longing even more so than usual. Suddenly the front door slammed open and Ryou winced, it appeared that Bakuras date hadn't gone well. This had become a set pattern. Door slam, Ryou get bitched at, Bakura get drunk and then sob to Ryou. Sighing Ryou went to meet Bakura,

"Hello Bakura."

"Shut up, I don't want to fucking talk."

"I wasn't going to ask if you did I…"

"So you don't want to hear what I have to say fine!" Bakuras hair was flying around even more than usual in his temper and is dark eyes flashed threateningly.

"I just wanted to know if you were going to have anything to ask."

"No" This was normally where Bakura stormed off to get drunk but tonight he didn't move.

"Urm ok then I'm just heading back to the living room."

"Stop patronizing me you pathetic person, I don't need it." Bakura snarled advancing on the smaller boy.

"I didn't mean to." Ryou stuttered,

"Like fuck you didn't" There was a ringing crack and Ryou ended up sprawled on the floor clutching his cheek. Nobody moved for a moment the Bakura started forward to apologize but Ryou scrambled up and ran off to his room.

"My angel." Bakura whispered after the fleeing boy wondering what the hell had he done?

The next day at school Ryou went in late but managed to bump into Yugi who gasped in shock at the dark bruise staining the boy's porcelain skin.

"Ryou what happened?" Yugi cried out. Quickly Ryou told Yugi everything who was horrified and whispered, "Do you still love him."

"God help me but yes I do." Ryou admitted.

"Right well that being the case I have a plan." Ryou lent in and listened to what Yugi was saying.

***

Ryou went into the house humming that night and was shocked to see Bakura standing in the front entrance.

"Oh hey." He said cheerfully. Step one, act normal.

"Listen Ryou I want to apologize for last night. That was wrong of me and…"

"Sure `Kura. Its fine now I've gotta go up to my room bye." Step two, make him come after you. Ryou promptly left. Bakura blinked, that was easier than he'd thought it was going to be.

***

Bakura was frustrated over the past three weeks he'd seen his Hikari a total of five minutes each morning and each evening and he seemed to be doing an insane amount of dusting in his room. Damn it Ryou was meant to be there to listen to him; the boy was his light, his friend, his…love! Bakura sat down sharply unbelieving how could he have missed it? At that moment Ryou bounced in the room to get the book he'd left there before. Bakura watched him with wistful eyes then said,

"Ryou are you straight?" Ryou blinked and looked at him and Bakura swallowed down his guilt at the darkness still tinting the smaller boys cheek.

"Nope."

"Oh, is there anyone who you're interested in." A bright flush rose on Ryou's cheeks and he said,

"Yeah but he doesn't like me." Bakura got up and walked over to Ryou,

"Who is it little one." Ryou swallowed and whispered,

"You." Bakura looked down at the light one his eyes wide. Him? How could he after all of the times he'd insulted him and hurt him.

"Oh Ryou." He murmured and kissed his Hikari. Ryou's book slipped to the ground as the kiss deepened.

It was a week later and the pair of albinos were in a state of blissful contentment. Bakura was mildly annoyed because Ryou had insisted that he was to come and watch in him a show at school that night. Ryou kissed him and left as performers had to be there early.

***

Bakura fell asleep in the show not seeing Ryou at all. It was mostly a bunch of crappy singers do crappy song. Suddenly Yami nudged him awake,

"Ryou's on." The ancient spirit whispered. Bakura leant forward and his mouth dropped open at the sight of Ryou when he walked on stage. His hair and be put back into a ponytail and the boy was only wearing leather pants. A piece of soft music began to play and Ryou sang,

Sometimes the snow comes down in June.

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon.

I see the passion in your eyes,

sometimes it's all a big surprise.

Bakura was surprised at how beautiful his lights voice was as he sang the words of what Bakura would normally define as a crappy love song.

'Cause there was a time that all I did was wish,

you tell me this was love.

It's not the way I'd hope or how I planned,

but somehow it's enough.

Bakura suddenly figured that he hadn't ever told Ryou that he loved him.

And now we're standing face to face

isn't this world a crazy place.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

you go and save the best for last.

It hit Bakura how much this song signified a lot about their relationship

All of the nights you came to me,

when some sillygirl had set you free.

You wondered how you'd make it through,

I wondered what was wrong with you.

'Cause how could you give your love to someone else

and share your dreams with me.

Sometimes the very things you're looking for,

Is the one thing you can't see.

Ryou caught his eye and smiled,

But now we're standing face to face

Isn't this world a crazy place.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

you go and save the best for last.

La, la , la, la, la, la

Sometimes the very things you're looking for

Is the one thing you can't see.

Sometimes the snow comes down in June

Sometimes the sun goes round the moon.

Just when I thought our chance had passed

You go and save the best for last.

You went and saved the best for last...yea.

As soon as possible Bakura raced backstage and swung Ryou round kissing him hard,

"I'm telling you now I love you!" The kissed again and Bakura added so only Ryou could hear, "I defiantly saved the best for last."
