Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Saviour ❯ The sacrafice of hiding in the lie ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Sighing to himself, Katsuya Jounouchi waved goodbye to his friends exiting Domino High, forcing his voice to take it's usual perky tone as he yelled a “Catch ya later!” to them. Yet mentally the boy was kicking himself.

They were his very best friends, so of course it hurt to lie to them like he was doing, but what other choice did he have? They wouldn't understand, even if he did try and tell the truth. How would he say it, anyway?

Hey guys, what's going on? What'd you think of that math test, huh? Pretty hard? Oh yeah, by the way, I've been meaning to tell yall something, I thought yall oughta know. Remember how I haven't seemed like I've been wanting to go home? Yeah, that's only because I'm probably gonna be beat and raped by my Dad for the rest of my life…so, yeah. Like I said, just thought yall oughta know.

Playing that through his mind a couple times, Jounouchi somehow came to the conclusion that that conversation wouldn't go over very well, and option one seemed to be looking a lot better, as option one was: Ignore the problem. Denial. A beautiful thing. As far as Jou' was concerned, no one needed to know what he went through, it wasn't like it was any of their business. Would he really be able to trust them to help, anyway? Don't get him wrong, he trusted them, but he wasn't sure if he could trust anyone enough to tell this to, even the people he was closest to.

Plus, he was pretty sure what his friends would tell him to do. `Why don't you tell the police, Jou?' Ha. They had no idea, but running to the cops definitely wasn't an option, considering where the boy lived. Living South-Side of town had it's disadvantages, after all. One being a poor police force. The cops were always to busy busting drug users or joining them, they'd never give the time to listen to some 16 year old kid whining about his father.

Yes'sir'ee, ignoring and denying the problem would be the best thing to do after all.

Taking a deep breath, trying to push down the growing anxiety in his chest, the blonde walked up the steps to his-half-broken-down home, swinging the paint-peeled door open and stepping inside. The inside of the house didn't appear to be any better than outside, the whole place smelled of cheap whisky and cigarette smoke. Intoxicating to the average person, but Katsuya Jounouchi never got the chance to grow up as `the average person'.

“Who the fuck is it? It better be you, kid,” growled a rough, clearly drunken voice from the next room. If Jou' wouldn't of known the seriousness of the situation he would have rolled his eyes at the statement- who else would have been crazy enough to walk in this house?

“Yeah, it`s me, Dad.” Jounouchi replied softly, looking down at the stained carpet under his feet, he would of rather looked anywhere but at his father, although that didn't seem to be an option as the elder man approached the younger.

Jounouchi's breath caught in his throat as rough hands grabbed him by the shirt, pulling him close. He was already use to anything that his father could do to him, but each time he got close to this man it put him in a state of panic, especially when he was forced to look into those eyes- the eyes that he constantly saw, the eyes that shown with pleasure when Jou' felt nothing but pain. But he had to look back, knowing the consequences would have been worse if he didn't. Trying to keep the fear from his own eyes the blonde stared back.

“Your home early, guess that means you still don't got a fucking job.”

“…” He didn't think he could reply, his body was shaking under the touch, his father hands had ceased to stop there, now running up the blonde's chest.

“You answer me when I'm talking to you, boy,” the man growled again, one hand coming up and grabbing a fistful of blonde hair.

“Sorry,” replied the teen, voice hoarse.

“Good, boy. Now answer the question,” the grip hadn't loosened any.

“I have a job,” Jou' whispered, although in his mind he was screaming the answers that he had always wished to say. If he didn't have a job and make money how did the bills get paid? God knows his father didn't pay for shit. He never did anything! If it wasn't for Jounouchi his father wouldn't have anything!

“So where the Hells the money from this job of yurs?” The elder Jounouchi's eyes narrowed in distrust.

“Bills,” The younger continued to whisper.

“Then you need to get another job, get it?” The hand on Jounouchi's chest came up, grabbing his neck, holding him in place. The blonde simply nodded. “Good,” his father grinned, jerking Jou's head and placing a rough kiss on his lips, sending shivers down the boys spine. “Speaking of which, I think it's time you paid your dues, boy. Get my dinner…and prepare for my dessert.”

Jounouchi ran off to the kitchen as soon as he was released, wiping his mouth on his sleeve, even though the taste of liquor remanded. `Great, another fun filled night,' he thought bitterly.
