Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Searching for your Soul ❯ Chapter Four ( Chapter 4 )
CHAPTER FOUR
Ryou didn't even notice that the phone line had gone dead, nor that the lights in the house and the TV had gone off. He stared in horror at the blank TV. The only light was from the moon shining in through the window. Had he just seen what he thought he saw?
Ryou-He. . .they. . .can't. . .they. . .
Ryou felt light headed, felt like he was suffocating, felt dizzy, and then collapsed. The next thing he felt was something cool being placed on his forehead. He opened his eyes to see two violet ones looking down on him.
Ryou-Yugi?
Yugi smiled slightly and stood up. He had been sitting next to his friend on the bed.
Yugi-After the line went dead I began to worry. You'd passed out by the time I got here.
Ryou-Th. . the power. It went out. He's here. HE'S TRYING TO KILL ME YUGI!!!
Ryou began to cry and Yugi pulled him into a hug to comfort him.
Yugi-The power went out because of a storm. Your entire neighborhood lost power. There's still a restraining order up. He can't come anywhere near you.
Ryou-HE BROKE INTO MY HOUSE!!!
Yugi-I didn't know about the restraining order. if anyone sees him near your house, the police will be here in minutes. It couldn't have been him.
Ryou thought about what he had seen on the TV. Kaiba had bailed himself out of jail. Kaiba was now a free man (a/n: oh, who saw THIS one coming? *rolls her eyes*)
Ryou-A restraining order means nothing, Yugi. I've had several on me because of Bakura. He would take over and then go around all of the people he wasn't supposed to and. . .Yugi, I feel sick. . .
Yugi allowed Ryou to get out of bed. He ran straight into the bathroom and was there for a few minutes. Yugi contemplated following him, but decided not to. Ryou returned shortly after and sat down on the edge of the bed next to Yugi.
Yugi-If you want, me and the gang can stay here with you. We'll stay for as long as you want.
Ryou-No, I think I'll be okay. I read this spell in my book where you can put up a barrier that. . .
Ryou looked up at Yugi so their eyes met, and then he sighed, knowing exactly what Yugi was thinking.
Ryou-I'll be fine.
Yugi sighed also. Ryou honestly believed that his little magick spells would help him, and even worse, he believed that they would work! Yugi thought about grabbing Ryou by the shirt collar and shaking the boy until he got some sense lodged into his head, but decided that he would wait until Ryou said something REALLY stupid.
Yugi stood and began walking out the door.
Yugi-Call me if you need help with anything or if you just need to talk.
Ryou-I will. And Yugi?
Yugi-Yeah?
Ryou-. . .thanks for worrying.
Yugi-Hey, that's what friends are for.
Ryou sat down on the sofa as soon as Yugi had left. He didn't know what to do with himself. He was still a bit worried about Kaiba sneaking in, so he walked over to his spell book and searched for the right spell. Finally, he found it. It was a simple incantation. He mumbled the incantation slowly, very careful not to say the wrong words, which could result in a completely different spell being cast, and once it was done, he closed the book.
Ryou-That was simple enough.
He walked into the living room and looked at the clock. It was just after noon, and he figured he could order a pizza and watch a little TV. He picked up the phone and dialed the number he knew very well. He ordered; medium pepperoni with extra cheese (a/n: yummy!) and waited for the pizza man to deliver the pizza. Luckily for Ryou, the incantation allowed you to insert the name of the person you were keeping away, so he could still have other people enter his property. The delivery man was supposed to take up to half an hour, so when the doorbell rang 10 minutes later, Ryou was a bit surprised. When he opened the door, his jaw dropped when he saw that it was not the pizza delivery man, but someone else.
Ryou-What are you doing here?!
