The Immortal 9 Lives of the Angelic Feline

It had been around half a month since Hikari had joined Domino High. Yuugi had been trying to get the others to loosen up around her, but to no avail.

Yuugi looked up at the clock to see what time it was from the cold tile floor in the hallway of their school.

"4:30." He said to him self.

As he sat their, he wondered how Joey could have possibly gotten so many detentions already, after all, he was serving his third detention for the day at the moment. While he was sitting there, he started to look around when he noticed someone leaving one of the classrooms further down the hall.

"Wonder who that is…" he said to himself right before he noticed the familiar blue and black ribbons of Hikaris.

Just as he was about to get up to go over and say hi to her, two guys came over to him. One had sandy-blonde hair and the other had black hair. Before he had the chance to move an inch off the ground, he was picked up by the collar of his jacket and was banged against the wall by the black haired one with a rather large thud following.

"Hand over every thing you got punk." He demanded, in a harsh and sinister voice, right before the door to the classroom opened to reveal a highly pissed off Joey.

"I thought the two of you where kicked out." Joey said, his eyes glaring at the one holding Yuugi up against the wall.

The boy with the sandy-blonde hair had snuck up behind Joey and grabbed him by the back of his shirt.

"Why you creep! Can't you guys even fight fairly?!" Joey yelled at them while trying to get free.

With that comment, the one holding Joey threw him against the wall and he was soon followed by Yuugi.

"This is going to be fun." The black haired one said.

"Yea, beating up weak punks like you guys is always fun." His buddy said.

"I'd have to agree with the two of you on that one." A familiar voice said.

As the two of them turned around to see who had said that, they where surprised to see a girl half their size glaring at them with emotionless eyes that seemed to go on forever in a never ending gray and violet.

"Oh, and what can you do to us," the sandy-blonde haired on said while pulling out a pocket knife "bleed on us?"

He lunged forward aiming the knife at her throat, obviously attempting to finish her off right there and then.

But to his surprise, this attack was easily dodged and as he fell forward she grabbed him by the wrist with a firm grip and flipped him over so he landed hard on his back and dropped the knife on the ground to his side.

"Not really. I was just going to try to render the two of you unconscious." A small devilish smirk played across her lips.

"Why you little!" the other boy yelled while sending his fist flying through the air only to be meet with a hit to the stomach which sent his world spiraling into darkness.

Hikari left them there and then glanced over at where Yuugi and Joey lay.

"You two ok?"

"Yea, where fine." Yuugi said.

"You should be a little more careful next time." She said as she walked away and left the 4 of them behind.

Later that night, Yuugi, Joey, Honda and Anzu where on their way to a new nightclub for teenagers. It was called `The Underground.' As they walked along, they had been talking about the day's events and so forth until the reached the entrance. Taped to the door was a flyer that read:

9 Lives of Feline

Tonight!

$5 at the door

"What kind of a name is that?" Joey complained / whined / just plane making fun of.

"I thought it was free to get in." Anzu said. "I'm just glad that I brought some money."

They went on in and paid the $5, but they had to keep Joey from turning around and trying to steal it. As they walked past the entry room, they entered a room that was dimly lit with neon lights but the stage was well lit. The room had a few groups of people here and there.

As they went to find a spot to hang out at, a voice rang out over the mic.

"Thanks for coming out tonight every one!" the voice sounded very familiar "You might not know it, but all the money you paid to get in and all the money you spent goes to help those in need."

As the person kept talking, Yuugi looked up at the stage to see that it was Hikari talking. Her voice was filled with a strange warmth, but not like it normally did, it was some how, different. She had her hair up the way she always had it. He was wearing a royal blue T-shirt that had "Jimmy Eat World" written on it in black letters. From the elbow down it was covered with a black and white verticle strip-pattern cloth that hung loosely on both her arms. The space between the shirt and the striped arm shleeve was covered with a black, fish-net like material. Her pants came down low and a studded black, leather belt kept in on her hips and a small chain hung loosely on her side. Her pants had the front of the knee cut out and you could see blue fishnet stockings through the holes. At the bootom of her pants on the inside, a half-egg shape was cut out and replaced with a bright yellow material. The black boots she wore added a good three inches to her height. Around her neck hung the familiar black chocker with a severed heart.

"As you can probably tell, we're new here" She continued, "I'm Hikari Hoshino."

"I'm Nina!" a girl said from behind a drum set. She had short, choppy pink hair with black bangs. On her noise there where a pair of sunglasses that hand a pink hue to them. From what Yuugi could see of her from where he was, he could that she was heavier set than Hikari, but was still skinny. He could only see the top of her shirt, but from what he could see, it was a light pink, button up dress shirt that was changed in such a way that is impossible to describe.

"My names Atticus." A boy said king of timidly, he apperantly felt uncomfortable being in front of group of people. His black hair went all over the place and looked as if it had never seen a hairbrush before. He had a pale blue chocker and wore a jade green button-up dress shirt that was open a bit. His black pants had the front of the knees cut out, just like Hikairs and he wore a pair of burgundly converse.

"We're known as "9 Lives of Feline"." Nina said, right before they started to play.

As they played, the music and the lyrics started to blend as one and see,ed to weave a story that Yuugi couldn't grasp.

"I just don't care any more

This is ending here and now

I never wanted a parof of this

Didn't know what I was getting into

You tricked me into thinking this was right

During my lonelness and despare

I'm trying to find out, exactly what I am

You say it shameful for me to leave it now

But I'm immune to that right now

You try to hide what I am

Because your afraid I just might find out."

Hikari sang with Atticus joining in every now and then in perfect harmony.

"Their pretty good." Joey commented, trying to speak over the music. "Unless they said that they just started playing, like they did, you'd never guess it."

"Yea!" Yuugi screamed over the music.

After about an hour of playing, it was time for another band to go on. They picked up their equipment and left the stage.

When Hikari was done packing up her stuff, she walked over to where Yuugi and the gang where and sat down.

"Hey guys." She said, "I didn't know you guys came here."

"This is the first time we've ever been here." Yuugi said.

"Really, that's kind of weird cause this is our first time here as well."

"Woah, that's kinda freaky, like someone planned it almost." Said Joey

Honda then turned around and smacked Joey in the back of the head. "Don't try to act smart on us."

"Why you! I'll get you for that!"

"I'd love to see you try!"

"Hey, what's going on here?" questioned a new voice.

"huh, oh, you're the guy that was on the stage…um, now what was it? I know it…" Joey began to say.

"The names Atticus. Nice to meet you." Atticus said, cutting Joey off and giving him a wink, which left Joey confused.

"Atticus, how many times have I told you not to do that…"

"Hee hee…sorry, you know how I am…"

"Yea, and that's why I tell not to do that. Remember what happened last time?"

"Please, don't remind me about that one."

Joey stared wide eyed in confusion as the two of them continued to talk, "Uh, what are you two talking about?"

"Yea, what are you two talking about?"

The others looked around to see Nina standing there leaning over Anzu the whore.

Anzu turned around and blushed when she saw how close Nina was to her "Hey."

Nina grinned and leaned a little closer to Anzu and whispered slightly seductively in her ear, "Is there something you wanted to tell us?"

Saying that made Anzu blush more.

Hikari kicked Nina in the ankle and grinned, "You're just as bad as Atticus is…"

"Oh, and you mean to tell me that you're an innocent little angel." Nina said and then moved in closer to whisper in her ear, "After all, I'm not the one who's the sacrifice…"

Hikari's eyes grew wide in surprise, "But how did you… no one knew about that…"

"What, that you are secretly madly in love with me?" Joey said with a devilish grin. "Hey, what's with that sour look Hikari?"

"Oh nothing…" Hikari said with an annoyed tone in her voice.

"So are you gonna sit here all night or are you going to ask your short friend that question?" Atticus said to Hikari with a slight elbow to the arm.

"Ask me what?" Yuugi questioned.

"She's probably gonna ask you out on a date." Joey said which made Yuugi blush.

"Stop putting words in other peoples mouths." Hikari said with a glare. "I wasjust going to ask him if he'd like to duel me."

"I didn't know you played Duel Monsters." Yuugi said with surprise, still blushing slightly from Joeys comment.

"Yea, you wouldn't guess it just by looking at her but she placed first at the tournament in Kyoto." Atticus bragged.

"Atticus…" Hikari said shly.

"Well it's true."

"Wow, you must be realy good to get top place in that tournament. Hey wait a sec, didn't Kaiba Corp. hold that tournament?"

"Yea, buy I got lucky, that's all. Something had come up and Kaiba had to have some one stand in for him. That's all."

"I wonder what could be so important that would make Kaiba have to have a standin."

"I don't know but it seemed urgent."

"Must have been…anyways, you said you wanted to duel right. Well, if you have your deck with you right now then we can duel right here now."

"Ok." Hikari said as she pulled out her deck.

Yuugi grinned and pulled out his deck. "This should be an interesting duel."
