Seto Kaiba's Perfect Match
I'm really not sure what to call this story. This came out of a really fricked-up dream that I had involving the main characters of "Yu-Gi-Oh!", and as such, I had to modify it a bit to get it to make some semblance of sense. I'm a pretty important character in this story, so I made myself over as a duelist in the Battle City Tournament in this story. Fair warning---- the main character, Robin (a.k.a., me) has a tremendous crush on Seto Kaiba, the head of the Battle City Tournament, and so it gets a little---ahem, crazy in places. Bear with me!
(I suppose I should give myself a physical description now, to eliminate any confusion later on---hint, hint. I'm about 5'8" or 5'9", and have straight, below-shoulder-length brown hair a couple of shades darker than Seto's. My eyes are really dark brown----think Ryou Bakura's eye color. My skin's pretty white until/unless I get out in the sun, and then I can tan pretty well. As for my body's shape and size, let's just say I am a full-figured woman, hourglass in shape.)
Before I get started with my fan fiction, I just want to let you know that I'm probably the biggest Mary Sue you ever met (if the definition of a Mary Sue is a girl who writes herself in fan fictions because she can't come up with original characters). Well, I figure I'm the most original character you could ever meet (he he), and so I wrote myself in this fiction. I mean, heck, what's the fun of fan fiction if you can't write yourself interacting with the characters?
OK. Without further ado, here's the story.

I was feeling pretty proud of myself, to say the least. I had just won my fourth duel in a row, and had gotten some pretty sweet cards for my efforts.
"Let's see---another Jinzo, a Change of Heart cardsweet," I said, flipping through my prize cards from the previous four duels.
"Aw! Sweet!!! I got Cyber-Stein!" I remembered that Cyber-Stein's effect could summon a monster from my Fusion deck without having to bring out the Fusion-Material monsters or even having to use Polymerization.
"Kick ass. Man, my deck is going to rock once I put this card in. Now I can finally put the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon in my deck and use it." I was so busy thumbing through my cards that I didn't watch where I was going and accidentally smacked into someone.
"Oh! Excuse me! I'm so sorry," I said, turning to look at whom I'd knocked into. "Hey---aren't you Tristan Taylor?" I asked the tall, brown-haired guy who was picking himself up off the sidewalk.
"Yeah, that's me," he said. "Um---I hate to ask this, but do I know you?"
"No, you don't," I said cheerfully, offering my hand. "My name's Robin----I've heard a lot about you. You're friends with Yugi Moto and Joey Wheeler, right?"
"Yeah. Have you heard, ahem, anything else?" Tristan asked me with a smile.
"Nah, can't say that I have," I said. I knew from his charming tone of voice that he was girl-hunting.
"Well, many girls don't know this, but I'm single and, ahem, very available," he said confidently, with a wink.
"I see," I said, hoping my voice conveyed my total lack of interest. I had my perfect guy in mind already. Evidently, my voice tone worked, because Tristan's face instantly fell.
"Aw, crap," he said, his shoulders sagging. "You've got a boyfriend, haven't you?"
"Um, well, uh, not really," I said, blushing profusely. I shifted uncomfortably, knowing that my facial expressions would give away who I liked if I wasn't careful.
"Oh, I see. You've got a crush on someone. So, who's the incredibly lucky guy, hmm?" Tristan asked, trying to charm me into answering.
Again, my face turned pink with embarrassment. "N--nobody," I said shyly, my smile and twinkling eyes saying the exact opposite.
"Well, I see I'm going to have to work some magic on you so you'll tell me. You can't fool me."
"You're very sure of yourself, aren't you?" I said, looking around as I said it.
"Yeah, um, I guess----oh, hey, by the way, are you headed anywhere? I could walk around with you. That is, if you want," he said, shuffling his feet a little in shyness.
"Sure. I actually got myself lost this morning wandering around. Thought I'd never get back to the main drag," I said, smiling at my own stupidity. Tristan cheered a bit.
"Well, I won't let you get lost."
"Good, because I'm terrible with directions." I held up my locator cards, of which I had four already. "Kaiba gave us the locator cards, but heck, I'd need a neon sign to find the finals---that's how bad I am at finding my way around." I blushed as I said Kaiba's name, being that he was the one I had the crush on. But I wasn't going to let on right then.
"Yeahhe seems to think he's going to win his own tournament," Tristan said with a roll of his eyes. "I would disagree with that."
"Why do you say that?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"Well, Yugi's always been really good at Duel Monsters, too. And Joey's getting good, too. I think they both have a shot at winning this thing. Hmmph." He rolled his eyes again. "Kaiba thinks a lot of himself."
I had to hide my smile again. My crush on Kaiba was very quiet----I didn't think he'd ever even know who the hell I was, much less have any interest in me. He didn't seem like the type to have a whole lot of time for love anyway. But, then again, that's how I seem to like my men----I always go for brainiacs who are completely emotionally cold. Me being a pretty fiery and passionate person myself, I seemed to be continually drawn to the guys that I could melt with my sunshiny personality.
"Yeah," I agreed with Tristan. "He does have a bit of an ego."
"Understatement of the freaking year," Tristan muttered, and I giggled.
"That was funny as crap! Sweet," I said through laughter. My 'unique' way of giggling got away with Tristan, and he and I both started laughing.
About a half-hour later, Tristan and I were chilling out on a bench, trying to get up the nerve to start walking again in the summer heat.
"You know, Robin, you're a pretty cool girl to hang out with----you're funny, and really smart. No wonder Kaiba chose you for Battle City," Tristan remarked.
"Hmm?" I asked.
"Kaiba chose all the Battle City participants himself. I guess he wanted to be sure everyone was worthy to duel in his freakin' tournament."
"Really?" I felt my face grow hot. "I didn't know he picked everyone himself. Hey, I guess that means I am pretty good, huh?"
Tristan didn't reply, but stared at me, studying my face.
"What?" I asked innocently. I knew he had seen my face flush as soon as Kaiba was mentioned, and I tried to cover it up, but was about a second slow.
"Oh, my God." Tristan chuckled knowingly. "You have a crush on Kaiba, don't you?"
"What makes you think that?" I said, my bright, wide smile betraying me.
"Because you just blushed your ass off when I mentioned him. Not to mention that you can't quit grinning," he said, making fun of me.
"Shit," I said, knowing my cover was blown. "How did you guess?"
Tristan scoffed. "Girls think they're always being so mysterious and sneaky when they have a crush on a guy. Well, let me tell you, your face was about as lit up as a freakin' neon sign! Anybody could have guessed!" Tristan laughed heartily.
"Damn, I thought I was hiding it pretty well," I said sheepishly.
"Well, I knew from the first that you had a pretty big crush on somebody, but I figured I'd just drop names until I saw a response. Didn't take me long, huh?"
"Yeah." I trailed off, and a girlish giggle escaped me, and I blushed again.
"God, you must really like him, huh?" Tristan stared at me, and I tried to stop myself from grinning big.
"Yeah, I kinda do," I said, my eyes twinkling.
Tristan rolled his eyes. "You're pretty smart, so you probably notice that he's not that into----you know, girls and stuff."
"Well, I hope he is, dang it," I said, beginning to laugh. "If that boy is gay, man, that----that just sucks!"
"Not like that!" Tristan exclaimed, and I cracked up.
"Well, it would suck!" I insisted, getting more tickled by the second. "He's too damn fine to be gay. That would just be----pardon the pun, but that would be the damn gayest thing ever."
At that, I burst into uncontrollable giggles. Tristan tried not to laugh, but he couldn't help a few little snickers.
"You know I didn't mean it like that," Tristan said, admonishing me with his eyes.
"Yeah, I know," I said. I had laughed so hard I was crying.
"I meant that Kaiba isn't----doesn't seem like the type to----God, how do I say it?"
"I know, I've seen it," I said, casting my eyes down. "He seems to be all work and no play." Then my eyes twinkled with a mischievous glimmer. "Oh, I could suggest some games for me and him to play." My girlish giggle descended into the low registers of my voice, rendering my "naughty laugh."
"Oh, my God!" Tristan said, his eyes widening. "You are nasty, girl, you know that?"
"No, I'm not," I said innocently. "I'm---delightfully naughty." My grin was borderline bad girl, and Tristan scoffed and looked away.
"Craziness. Pure craziness," he muttered to himself, holding back laughter.
"I'm sorry, I just had to say something like that," I said. "I have a dirty mind sometimes."
Suddenly, I heard a voice from behind me.
"Hey, Tristan!" I turned and saw the rest of Tristan's group----Tea, who had called out to him, was running ahead, and Yugi and Joey were close behind.
"Hey, guys," Tristan said, waving to everyone.
Tea caught up to us and held onto the back of the bench, catching her breath. "Haven't seen you all day," she said, panting a bit.
"Yeah, I've just been around," Tristan said, elusively. Yugi and Joey had arrived by this time, and were standing around us.
"So, who's your friend? Have you been trying to pick up girls again, Tristan?" Tea laughingly scolded.
"Nah, this is Robin---I met her today, actually. She actually ran into me on the sidewalk, and we've been talking for awhile." I was glad Tristan didn't introduce me as a potential girlfriend---that would have freaked me out.
"Nice to meet you," Yugi said brightly, extending his hand, and I shook hands with him and Joey.
"Nice to meet y'all, too," I said, my Southern upbringing quite obvious in my words and accent. "I've heard quite a lot about you two."
"Really?" Joey said, straightening up a little. "How much?"
"Well, to be honest, I've heard more about Yugi than you, Joey, but I did hear that you were second place at Duelist Kingdom and he was first place. That's pretty awesome."
"Well, at least you heard somethin' about me," Joey muttered. Evidently, he was disappointed that not too many people had heard about him.
"Well, I see you're a duelist in Battle City," Yugi said, acknowledging the duel disc on my left arm. "How long have you been dueling?"
"Aw, not long. Long enough to get recognized for this tournament, I guess," I said modestly, conveniently not mentioning my four locator cards----I didn't want to be bragging.
"That means you're pretty good. Kaiba picked all the duelists for the tournament himself," Joey added.
"Yeah, Tristan told me," I said conversationally. I knew I was blushing, but decided not to care. As it was, Tristan was about to take care of things for me.
"Oh, you guys, by the way," he said eagerly, as if he wanted to tell a juicy secret, "Robin has a big crush on Kaiba, so you better lay off on the Kaiba-bashing."
"No! Seriously?" Tea said, laughing in disbelief. Joey looked crestfallen, and Yugi shook his head, as if to say "Tsk, tsk."
"Darn it," Joey muttered quietly to himself. Evidently, he'd also wanted a chance with me.
Yugi looked curious. "Why do you like Kaiba so much?"
"That's what I asked!" Tristan said, breaking into a big smile.
"Oh, um, well----" I stopped myself and blushed hard. "I have my reasons, I guess," I said shyly.
"Yeah, she wants more than just a duel with him," Tristan said, elbowing me lightly in the side. "Go ahead, tell 'em about the naughty little games you want to play with him."
"Shut up!" I said playfully, but it was too late.
"Naughty? Oh, my God, she's a freak!" Joey cried in mock disbelief. After a few minutes of teasing and ribbing, however, they settled down, and Yugi spoke next.
"You know, in all the time I've known him, Kaiba's never seemed like the kind of guy to even fall in love," Yugi said thoughtfully. "I guess there is a girl for every guy out there, though, since you like him so much."
"Why do you like him so much, anyway?" Joey asked.
"Um----you really wanna know?"
"Yes!" The group responded as one.
"Well, uh---how should I start?" All of them leaned in, like I was getting ready to tell a big secret or something. "I suppose I'll start with what I like about him physically. That's a good starting point."
All three guys sighed. "We're going to be here for hours!" Tristan said wearily.
"Nah, it ain't too long a list. Just a few things, ya know?" I smiled to myself.
So I started my list of why I liked Kaiba. "Well, first of all, I love his eyes. He has got the most piercing blue eyes I've ever seen on a guy, and I love that. I mean, if he looks at me, I feel like he instantly knows everything about me and everything I will be. It's unsettling to be completely de-mystified like that, but it's kinda sexy at the same time, ya know?" I smiled big. "And blue is my favorite color, so----yeah."
"Go on," Tea said. "This is getting good."
"And, uh, no offense, Yugi and Joey, but I go for tall, dark-haired guys. Just my particular preference----don't ask me why."
"Crap!" Joey snapped his fingers.
"Well, why didn't you go for me, then, hmm?" Tristan asked.
"Ah'm a-gittin' thar, Tristan," I drawled in a redneck accent. "Anyway, I also tend to go for broad shoulders. Very masculine, you know. But the thing about Kaiba is that he has this----presence about him, and he has masculine grace. That's the best way to describe it. I don't go for guys that don't act like they have it all together. Kaiba is just----very sexy like that. Very composed, and he moves so fluidly. Meow."
"Oh, she said 'Meow'," Joey said with a laugh.
"Well, he's sexy, so why not?" I said sweetly.
"So what do you like about him otherwise?" Tristan asked. I could tell he wanted to know why I had not gone for him instead.
"Well, I love the fact that he's a total brainiac," I said, my face blushing. "And I love guys that can work with technology----see, the only thing I know how to do with technology is to fuck it up." I started laughing. "Ooh! Computer go boom! Wow!"
Everybody seemed to enjoy my joke about that. "But seriously, I also like that he has an ego. Sure, it probably would get on my nerves after a while, but I love the confidence he exudes----dang it, I always have fallen for arrogance in my lifetime. Again, don't ask me why, 'cuz I'm just weird like that." I paused. "But there's something more that I sense; I feel a sadness within him. I can't even explain it, but the first time I met him, I instantly sensed that there's way much more to Kaiba than meets the eye." I smiled slightly. "And I love guys that I can fix. Hopefully, I could find a way to make him happy----hmm, in more ways than one!" I giggled my naughty laugh again, and they all groaned.
"So that's why you like him," Joey said thoughtfully, a rare faraway look in his eye. "Hmm, maybe we can set you guys up or something. Maybe get his mind off getting the Egyptian God cards for a while---he's always wanting the most powerful cards because he thinks it'll make him the best duelist. Too bad Yugi's already taken that position," Joey remarked, elbowing Yugi good-naturedly.
"Yeah, he's always concerned with being the best," Yugi said, cocking his head in thought.
"Man, can I identify with that," I said quietly.
"What?" everyone asked. They looked at me in confusion.
"What'd I say?" I asked innocently.
"You mean you understand him? Why he wants to be the best?" Joey asked. "Well, hell, explain it to me!" The rest of the group murmured agreement.
"Well, I understand what it feels like to be the best and be respected and then all of a sudden, you're not anymore. I have had the same feelings he must have gone through."
"Nah---you couldn't possibly have gone through that," Tristan said dismissively. "You're too warm-hearted for that. You'd have to be like Kaiba and, well, you're not."
"Says who?" I said. This piqued everyone's interest.
"Why do you say that?" Yugi asked.
"I've felt pressure to be the best all my lifelike I'm not worth shit unless I'm so perfect that I can't be topped. Kaiba probably feels that way too----and he's too sexy! I could understand about me, but he's too sexy to be completely disregarded if he's not the best. I would still like him, anyway," I said sweetly.
Since we were sitting close to Domino Square, there were several big TV screens around, and I heard them flicker on.
Tristan looked up. "Speak of the devil."
I looked up and beheld Kaiba's face on the screen, smiling slightly as he was wont to do. I contained myself while having a serious mental squealing fit.
"Hello, duelists," Kaiba said, his voice echoing through the square from the TV screens.
"Oh, Lord, I think Robin's gonna faint," Tristan said jokingly, ribbing me in the side a little. I stayed riveted to the screen----I wasn't about to miss an opportunity to hear Sexy Man talk a little. I had forgotten to mention to the group that Kaiba not only possessed some of the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters, but he also possessed one of the sexiest voices I had ever heard. It was so melodic in phrasing, and of course, powerfully seductive and hypnotic in my opinion. To me, anything he said was sexy.
"I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be around in the tournament area tomorrow, just in case some of you want to test your dueling skills against me," Kaiba said smoothly. "Of course, you will be taking a big risk which probably won't pay off, but you're welcome to forfeit your locator cards if you wish."
"Like we give a damn," Tristan muttered sardonically.
Kaiba smiled, almost as if he had heard Tristan's remark. "I know that the tournament has been proceeding very well, and I intend to ensure that it keeps going well. Remember, you're welcome to challenge me tomorrow----if you dare." The TV screens flickered off and the square was silent again.
"Holy fuckin' shit," I muttered to myself. "Damn, he's so sexy,"
"I still can't believe you think Kaiba's sexy," Tea said to me, shaking her head. "I mean, I just don't see it."
"Well, hopefully we'll see him around tomorrow, and if she can keep her wits about her, maybe she can duel him," Tristan said, laughing a little. "Did you see her face while he was on the screen? She was positively staring at him!"
"I wasn't about to stop, either. God, that slight little smile!" I trailed off into a little squeal of delight.
Joey shook his head. "Dang it."
"What?" I asked, puzzled.
"If a girl is able to like Kaiba----and you know I'm much better-natured than he is----then why ain't I getting any girls?"
I laughed. "You'd be surprised, Joey. Probably half the girls in my school would be all over you and Tristan. I'm one of the oddballs---I love weird guys."
Joey and Tristan both perked up. "Man, we need to go to your school for a couple of days!"
