From this chapter on, the storylines of Asha and Jyde are combined and will be to the end.Enjoy ^^

The sun was setting beyond the horizon and darkness slowly started to creep over the city, by the name of Domino, down below. Faint noises from the people and their contraptions wafted over the air towards the beings that were nestled nearby, watching the city with their sharp, angry eyes. No matter what the humans were doing, may it have been crossing the street or conversing with another or especially on those walking with the enslaved hybrids, none of it passed by without notice by the watchful eyes of the beings in the foliage of the forest.
"When can we go? I grow weary of all this waiting" one of them hissed, restlessly moving from side to side.
"We go when we receive the signal. You very well know that Eucreaz" an older voice stated firmly to the first.
"But why does he make us wait so? The humans have had this coming for a long time. Why delay the inevitable any further? Everything is set in motion! We can't be stopped!" Eucreaz declared, raising his arms and indicating to all the beings around him, both humanoid and not. Some of the creatures growled in reply, acknowledging that well known fact.
"You can't rush what our lord has planned. He knows what is best. He has never let us down once. Can you even deny that?" the older voice queried calmly. Eucreaz sighed and shook his head.
"No he hasn't. He is a great leader... I am just anxious. I have been waiting for this day for a long time".
"We all have Eucreaz. It has been a long, rough time for all of us" came a third voice as the being approached the other two from his previous standing to join the conversation. "To be rid of the humans once and for all; it is a dream come true".
"I wonder why our lord chose this town to begin with?" the older voice asked, more so to himself than the others as he lets his solemn eyes wander over the city beyond them down below.
Their view was perfect beneath the overgrowth and the tall elder trees; everything in plain sight for their piercing eyes. Yet nobody would be able to see them from down below, both due to their coverings and that of their own powers too.
"No one can truly know that answer Thaimus. All I remember him telling me was that it was full of humans so that alone is enough. I do not doubt that there may be an ulterior motive to his selection but he always does tell us in the end when he deems necessary. We just must continue trusting him and all the rest will become clear" the third responded in a straight forward way.
Thaimus sighed but nodded. It was true. Their lord may not state all of his motives for his mission right away but always told them in the end. He had never lied to them. He was a very honest ruler yet a strong one at that. He was anything but a pushover and could see through anyone's lies.
"But are we to kill everyone? Or just the males?" a fourth voice questioned, inquisitive and curious. He was younger then those who were around him but that didn't lessen the reaction to his questions. There were some growls and hisses as replies.
'What does it matter? They are all humans and they all deserve to die!' one of the larger sentient beings spat out angrily.
"But really, the women and children are harmless" the fourth one retorted, but in a softer, timid tone, out of respect to the larger being.
"Harmless now perhaps, Phylisc, but soon those harmless children will be raised into vengeful beasts that will seek to strike back against those that have killed their brethren. As for the women, not only would they groom the young males to fight back, they would breed more of the human race until it becomes more of a swarm now then they were before" Thaimus pointed out to which all the other creatures mumurred their agreements.
Phylisc nodded, realizing that this was quire true. He was still a bit young and though his hatred for the humans almost held no boundaries, he still felt a bit distraught at the thought of killing so many innocents.
"Humans are far beyond innocent young one" came a deep cold voice from within the shadows. All the hybrids and beasts froze and turned their heads immediately to the sound of the voice, listening attentively.
"They are tainted the moment they form within their mothers womb and they are tainted to the point that they die. They are all savages, destroying all the wildlife around them just to build those monstrosities that they call their homes. We are the forebringers to life and they are the reapers that suck it all away. We are the saviours to this dying planet and they are abominations that must perish" stated the shadowed entity. Everyone remained silent as the being stepped forward into the moonlight that now shone over all the creatures hidden in the brush.
Seto's eyes gleamed darkly as he viewed his fellow brethren, both hybrid and full dragon breed alike, all from the same genus of species and all on the same wavelength as he. All of their eyes were on him, awaiting their lord's command to bring destruction to the fools that were beneath him.
The dragon hybrid viewed them once more before letting out a sinister chuckle, baring his long fangs to them all.
"Let the massacre begin".

Joey sighed happily as he pressed his head further into Jodi's lap, letting out small sounds as the girl ran her fingers through the hybrid's soft blond locks and over his velvet dog ears.
Jodi didn't have work at her restaurant today so she stayed with the hybrid, both of them just enjoying one another's company, whether they had been watching a movie, making their meals together or other numerous activities. It was them being together that counted the most.
Though it had been a short time, Jodi felt that she truly did have deep feelings for the dog hybrid. True many may feel that way after losing their virginity, thinking that the one that took it would be the love of their life, though more often than not does it proves otherwise and one leaves the other.
No, its not just because they had sex, but more on how Joey cared for others, how strongly he stands by his views, even to which Jodi may not like them and may not understand them but can still see how determined into what he believes. He wasn't indecisive, he knew what he wanted and even to a point to which he didn't, he wanted to follow his instincts, to go with what was right till it would turn wrong and then to choose another path without skipping a beat.
He had strong beliefs and that's what Jodi loved the most about him. Whether be about his life, his sister or even on what he does, he had it set in his hands where even Jodi herself didn't know truly what she wanted and at times would backtrack continually only to come to the same outcome that she had problems with before.
She wished she were like him, as strong as he was, to remain calm in the situations that needed it and to perhaps lose one's cool when it was deemed appropriate. But at the same time she figured he wasn't always like this. There must of been a time, probably when his parents were still alive, that he didn't know what to do and panicked like she does now. He learned from his experiences though. He learned and is now putting it to how he wants to live out his life now.
She knew that Joey liked her a lot but knew that love, if it ever were to happen, wouldn't occur for a while. But she was ok with that. Right now there were too many things going on, both for him and for her, to really concentrate on making a relationship between themselves, if it were to ever come that far though.
"Mmm... ya give really nice head rubs Jodi" Joey let out with a happy sigh to which the young girl gazed into his hazel brown eyes with her blue green once and smiled with a faint tinge of red upon her pale cheeks.
"And I would continue to do it for a long time" the girl replied in a timid voice, but a serious one at that. The dog hybrid sat up a bit and cupped her face in his paws, pulling her down for an intimate kiss.
However before they could go further into it, a deafening crash passed around their ears as the door to Jodi's condo was kicked in violently, flying through the air for a moment before settling beside the couch they were sitting upon.
Both of them bolting to their feet and with the dog hybrid placing himself protectively in front of the girl did the two cast their eyes on the intruders that invaded their home.
Numerous men in some form of metallic armour with a light blue hue upon it adorned their whole body, from their heads right down to their combat boots. Each of them held a rifle adorned with various mechanics, the black colour glinting faintly from the light of the moon that shone in through the windows, but not as much as their suits that lit up like a beacon from a lighthouse.
Only two men in the group wore no such armour. One both hybrids did not know. He was a tall lean old man with white hair and a mustache. He wore glasses and was dressed in white. The platinum name tag pinned above his left breast pocket spelled 'Dr. Richardson'. Just seeing someone with a doctor in their name already gave a sinking feeling within Jodi's stomach. She had a pretty good feeling what kind of doctor this old man was... and it definitely wasn't one for humans.
The second man of the two was the only recognizable one and anger set deep into both hybrid's bodies as they glared at Takuya, who was grinning at them quite maliciously.
"So sorry to barge in Ms. Kamaki... or do you go by another name? I assume fairies such as yourself are quite known for going by another alias" he sneered to which Jodi stiffened considerably as Joey let out a low growl.
"What nonsense are you talking about Takuya?!" she spat, hoping she could make it seem like the fat man made a mistake but she already knew that he was set in what he was talking about.
"The nonsense he is speaking of Ms. Kamaki, is that this good man had brought some very interesting photographs to my attention... of this dog hybrid and a nice young female with the same coloured hair and skin, such as yours, but who was a fairy... a fairy such as yourself" Dr. Richardson stated quite good naturedly as both Joey and Jodi froze.
The day of their kiss on the balcony, where Joey had insisted he wanted to see her in the light and had promised her that no one was around... Takuya had gotten pictures of her in her true form.
At this point Jodi wanted to scream. She wasn't angry at Joey for insisting to see her and didn't blame him for not noticing the obese man's foul stench. She should of known better. There were methods to mask a human's scent and she knew of them but didn't think of it at the time. She should have insisted to go inside to transform instead of being out in the direct sunlight... yet she didn't.
Stuck in her thoughts, the dog hybrid was mulled into his, feeling horrible... feeling that this was all his fault and to him he felt it indeed was. He wanted to see her and he didn't inspect nearly as well enough as he should have. How stupid could he be? A fairy, caught on film, would definitely bring danger to Jodi... but yet he wanted to see her... just that harmless want... to see someone who was so beautiful and yet someone who he very well had put onto death row.
He wanted to turn to her, to apologize profusely but his voice refused to function. The words were there but his jaws would not open to release them, as if that was a punishment his body was inflicting onto himself for harming the girl.
I'm so sorry Jyde... I'm so sorry... he thought as his ears drooped and his furred hands clenched at his sides.
"You did pretty well girl. Establishing your own business and remaining undetected for quite some time! You fairies are a clever bunch, so much harder to nab then those dragon hybrids. Of course they feel no need to hide where as your kind does. Such a pity really... it just goes to show you fear us humans" the doctor said with a low chuckle, causing the girl to raise her head with a snap, her blue green eyes narrowing in anger.
"Yes we do fear your race for what you do to our own! Most, if not all, of you humans destroy everything around you. Of course we would hide so we would never fall into your greedy, blood sodden hands!" she snapped with such vigor that Joey was brought out of his sunken thoughts, amazed at how full of life she was, that even though they were in a dire situation, she would not back down of what she felt was true. That was something Joey could appreciate and-
"Greedy? Perhaps. I just love exploring something new and I have to with every single hybrid I lay my eyes upon, especially you rare and exquisite ones. As for blood sodden... most definitely. Can't do enlightening experiments without a bit of red tinted fluid running out of your form" Dr. Richardson sneered. Jodi paled somewhat at this to which the CEO of his enterprise raised his lips into a devious smirk. "But no worries my pretty flower, I'll be keeping you alive for a long time".
"That won't be happening" Joey snarled, his ears flattened against his eyes, fangs bared. "You'll have to get through me if you want to lay your filthy hands on her".
Jodi's eyes widened and she could feel her heart flutter beneath her chest at the way the dog hybrid stated his claim. His body was tense and rigid and she could tell that he fully meant to back up what he said. The doctor, however, didn't seem impressed or worried. He waved his hand as if what Joey said was nothing.
"That, my fellow mutt, won't be much of a challenge" he mused with an exaggerated bored look as he gave a nod to the metal clad men around him.
The armour clad soldiers darted forward, enclosing themselves on the dog hybrid. The blond let out a growl and darted forward himself, jumping on them, smashing their bodies to the floor. His claws could barely get through their protection but he left quite deep scratches nonetheless. He bared his fangs and jumped onto another soldier, clinging to him tightly as his enclosed his mouth around the man's neck that was not covered by the metal but only some black material, causing the human to cry out in pain.
Jodi watched, eyes wide as Joey did everything he could to lacerate the man's neck, blood pooling down both their necks and trailing slowly over the blue hued metal. He was going to kill the man, for her. She could tell in how fiercely he fought. All for her. But just as those thoughts wormed its way to her heart so did the actions of another armour clad man, who ran up behind the hybrid, whose attentions were only for the man he was ravaging as the other soldier brought down the butt of his rifle into the back of his neck.
Letting out a pained howl, Joey was knocked off his prey from the force and fell to the ground on his back, claws in the air. He tried to get up as he rolled onto his stomach but the soldier who struck him before brought his rifle down against his head, effectively knocking the blond out as he collapsed to the floor, limbs held limply at his sides, the other man's blood trickling down his lips to the floor below.
"Joey, NO!" Jodi screamed, tears splashing down her eyes as she glared at all the men around her. Her lithe body tensed as gold energy encircled her and her eyes too had now adorned a gold colour. But the doctor, unlike Takuya who was huddling behind him, was not worried and nodded to his soldiers, who raised their rifles and aimed them towards her.
White electricity shot out and encircled Jodi herself, nullifying the gold power she was trying to summon around herself. She shrieked in pain as her body flashed between human and fairy as she tried to fight off the pain but it came to be too much and she fell to the floor, passed out cold and laying in her true form, her delicate wings sizzling with smoke unfurling off them due to the electrical shock.
Once she was out did the soldiers cease their attack. Obviously intrigued by her true form did the doctor go forth and kneel by her, lifting her head delicately with his hand as his other gently trailed her wings, almost closing his eyes in ecstasy at the feeling of her ethereal skin against his.
"Amazing" he breathed. "Truly amazing".
He stood up and gazed at his men, who were all looking from the fairy to the doctor, even the one that was damaged from Joey's attack, still alive, applying a white gauge to his neck to cease the bleeding. Takuya was staring hungrily at her form as he approached Dr. Richardson, wanting to do nothing but strip the young hybrid right there and do all that he desired for eons before now.
"She truly is gorgeous" he whispered as he leaned down to touch her hair, almost moaning at the feel.
"Indeed. And as much as I'd love to ogle her over as you are now Takuya, we must bring her bag to lab before we have more trouble on her hands" the old man stated firmly to which the obese one frowned and sighed but knew he was right and stood up, taking one last longing gaze at her before looking at the dog hybrid on the floor.
"What about him?"
"Leave the dog. He's no harm to us" Dr. Richardson stated in an uninterested tone while he viewed one of his men carefully pick up the fairy in his arms while another held his rifle.
With a nod of head after inspecting the fairy one more time, he led the rest of them out of the condo, leaving only destruction of the room and a bruised dog hybrid laying out cold on the floor with a puddle of blood pooled around his lips.

Asha was moving nervously about her apartment, not being able to sit still. She wanted to do some cleaning today, what with not having work but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was too out of it, unable to concentrate.
Seto wasn't home, having left way before she had awoken. She of course would do nothing. True the laws stated hybrids owned by humans could not go around the city without their owners unless its deemed very important. But Asha was in no way going to call the cops or the authorities to track the dragon hybrid down. One it would be very difficult to do so and for two she was quite sure he would hurt her once they were alone.
Its been about a week since Asha's attempted suicide and the punishment that came thereafter from the hybrid. Remembering how he had given her so much pleasure made her throat go dry and her hand slowly crept down to the crotch of her faded blue jeans, wanted to press against her covered area, her eyes going into a dazed look. But soon as the feeling came she roughly shook her head, ceasing a motion she was about to do. This was not the time to think of such thoughts, no matter how good it felt. She stared at her hands, them shaking slightly as she mulled over everything she could. One thought that was bothering her the most was that Seto had come to... perhaps not save, but get her and stop her from committing suicide. True he punished her after and would not give her a straight response as to why he got her, but still the action in itself surprised her.
If she was like he said she was, then there should be no reason for her to live in the dragon hybrid's eyes. Yet she was alive, here and now.She could guess as much as she want but she felt she would never know. Dragon hybrids seemed to be very cryptic and secretive, just like what she read about real dragons when she was younger. She only had one answer, though that in itself was still hard to decipher. She looked down at her stomach, placing her hands upon it. Of course it was still flat and smooth for it hasn't been long enough for a significant bulge to form there. She bit down on her lower lip, worried. It must be because I am pregnant with his child... that must be why he hasn't killed me... she mused and yet it still didn't make quite much sense. True she remembered him stating from when he took her virginity that the dragon hybrid would kill off the female humans after taking their virginity. He said that she had another use for him... and if he wanted her dead he would of done so already. So perhaps it's not the child... but she truly could not discern what else she was useful for. Was she his way to infiltrate the city? Was she his ticket to do whatever he wanted? It seemed to her that being as powerful as he claimed and proved to be, he could of broken out of Hot Furries N' Scales and could make his way through the city without being detected.
She was thoroughly confused and was now getting a near headache from thinking into it too much. She wasn't even sure how long she would be staying alive, even with his offspring in her womb he could still kill her, just stating he doesn't want anything tainted to give birth to his child.
She sat down on her couch, face in her hands, mulling over all the possibilities but finding the next one far more unlikely then the last. She sighed heavily as her shoulders slumped. There was no way that she could decipher what a dragon hybrid's thoughts were.
During the week that passed, Seto, as before, would not pay too much attention to her except with the suggestive looks and the trailing of his clawed hands along her frame whenever he passed by closely. She had become quite more meek than before, being silent whenever she was around him to which the dragon hybrid seemed thoroughly pleased.
However there were times when she would pass him she could feel her insides tighten and the folds of her vagina go from near dry to dripping wet and the hot sensation in her lower abdomen begin to boil. She knew quite well it was due to the hybrid, what with how he had controlled her orgasm the last time he took her. She however wouldn't speak of it and just went to her bedroom and would shut the door as she tried to satiate the dire need of release from her body as she was certain that the dragon hybrid was laughing at her in the meantime.
It was hopeless. Completely hopeless for what she could do. No where to turn, no where to hide. Nothing at all to do. She was trapped and she was at his mercy till he grew tired of her and when that time came, she would be dead; that in itself was her only form of release from the chains that had been placed upon her.
She raised her head and glanced outside of the window. Night had fallen hours ago and the sky was completely black, no stars that could be seen from where she was sitting. She stared at it, finding a form of solace... of peace just staring at that darkened sky.
But for some reason it seemed to become darker... not that calm shade of black that the night sky usually was... but of a deep foreboding darkness... a black that seemed dangerous.Asha shook her head roughly, chiding herself for having such thoughts. But looking at it again she felt the same feeling and her heart sank. This didn't feel right at all. For some reason it screamed out to her of a warning... a warning of something huge that was going to happen. What that being she didn't know... but she never disregarded her gut feelings, especially now.
Something terrible was going to happen. How she could discern that from the dark looking sky she did not know. But she could feel it... deep within her... and she knew she wasn't wrong this time.
But what was to happen... that she did not know.
Nor did she want to.* * *
The people of Domino, both human and hybrid alike, were walking along the streets, minding their own business and attending to the matters that they had set out before them. To some they had important duties to do and to others it was just trivial little things that would hold no immediate consequence if it were delayed. However all that they were doing was deemed worthless, yet none of them would realize till too late.Way high above, in the sky so dark, a large group of an even darker mass of black seemed to be flying above the city. Some did not notice, being the humans. But the hybrids stopped and craned their necks up, eyes widening at what their eyes could see when a humans could not.
The humans stopped to look at their hybrids, questioning or demanding on to why they halted their movements. The hybrids could only point up, being unable to state anything else. They didn't look afraid but were tense, as if awaiting something that was going to change everything.Their owners looked into the sky, straining to see something that they couldn't.
And there in the sky, way up above them, Seto flew with his fellow dragon hybrids and dragons, their number surpassing that of a thousand, perhaps even more.
He then stopped at a certain point in the sky, him and the rest of his kind flying over the center of the city. He turned in the air to his brethren, all awaiting his first move, all smiling as maliciously as he.
He opened his clawed hands, an electrical white orb of pure energy forming in each. He bared his fangs, his blue eyes shining in the moonlight.
"And now my brethren, let's annihilate the race that is due past extinction!" he roared out, to which he got roars of acquiescence.Smiling wickedly the dragon hybrid returned his attention back to mortals who rested on the ground far below them. He let the balls of energy crackle and sizzle within his scaled palms before hurling them towards the ground.
And there upon the ground, where the humans were gazing up into the sky, trying to see what their hybrids were pointing too. All they could see were two bright lights in the otherwise star free sky.
They looked back down upon their hybrids as if to reprimand them for being silly in reacting over two stars. However upon returning their attention to the ground their hybrids had scattered further back from their owners, their bodies still tense and wary of what was to come.
Puzzled they looked back up again and when they did, screams of terror rang out from their mouths as the two small twinkles of light that were only moments before miles high up were now hurling down towards them, seemingly getting bigger which each approach.
Some tried to run while others were frozen in place, their minds willing them to move but their legs refusing to flee from something that was so imminent. Nonetheless, no matter what the humans did it proved to be futile when the balls of crackling energy made contact with their frail forms, erupting them all into white flames, their screams of anguish echoing into the night, the only warning made to their own kind.
And there, a good few meters from them did the previously owned hybrids watch their owners, their masters, the ones that enslaved their kind now nothing but burnt ash. They watched as the aftershock of the blast washed over them, but not to hurt them. It was as if the wave of energy was removing the pain upon their shoulders, the burden they have been carrying for so long from a race that was inferior to them. Their eyes that were once only moments before wide with shock soon turned into gazes of glee. They were freed from the invisible shackles that have bound them for so long.
They were free.
As more fireballs rained down upon the city did the other hybrids dart off into the forest, knowing that their time had finally come.
And it was all thanks to the god like hybrids that flew high up above them in the starless sky, still raining their carnage down upon the doomed human race.

Asha let out a yelp as she fell off her couch due to the earthquakes that erupted around her. Her eyes gazed around in fear as books tumbled off her shelves and the loud noises of her dinnerware crashing from within the kitchen. The walls were vibrating non stop and cracks were forming along their white surfaces.
The long black haired girl struggled to her feet, trying to use anything to stabilize her form. She clung to the furniture that had not yet fallen to the floor as she made her way to the glass sliding door to see what was going on. She was wary of the crumbling walls which were getting worse every second, as if one touch of her hand would send them crashing down. She thought she could hear the supports of the building creaking and groaning under the extreme pressure of the earthquakes.
She was surprised that Domino had gotten any. It was highly uncommon for this city to get any and even when they did, it was usually in the fall, which they were by no means near.
She trekked carefully through the kitchen, spying the broken dishes laying upon the tiled floor, trembling beneath the shocks of the ground. Two of her chairs were already laying flat on the floor. The dinner table may not have fallen yet but was sliding around the floor, not being able to remain in one place. It almost nicked her in the side and she had to move quickly to not get hurt.
She kept away from the cupboards and also the refrigerator, body quite tense as she could see the cooling unit vibrate and shake, daring anyone that came near that it would fall down upon them.
She finally made her way to the glass door and let out a cry of fear at what she could see.
From her location she could get a huge view of the city and normally where there were buildings, there was fire instead. Every single high rising structure was covered in orange and red flames, all the buildings giving off some form of demonic glow.
She stared on with wide eyes as fireballs of numerous colours rained down from the black sky, engulfing the city into even more destruction, small explosions erupting everywhere. And if she concentrated, she could hear the faint screams of terror from people who were most likely being burned alive.
The girl trembled, arms wrapped around her as all she could do was stare at the ongoing carnage. What could of done this? she thought to herself, scared stiff. Or who? At that thought she shuddered more.
Soon that answer came upon her as she saw in the distance a huge shadowy figure dip down from the sky, as if it came from the black itself. It was slowly approaching her location as balls of fire seemed to be spewing out from its head, alternating at different locations where fire that had not been before now was.
Her eyes widened in fear as the being was now close enough to discern from the flames that almost licked the creature's body but it didn't burn. It was as if the fire embraced the one that flew through it, protecting it, cherishing the creature that gave birth to its ethereal form.
Asha's voice came out as a choked cry as her eyes roved over the huge ruby coloured dragon that was hovering with its massive crimson wings before her building. Ebony frills lined down its spine to the tip of its muscular tail. A gold and black crest adorned its head and cement coloured horns that coiled like that of a ram's came out from the sides. Its eyes were of a bright yellow and it glared at the building, or perhaps more so of the girl.
Golden flames flickered around the jaws of the beast, wisps of the colour unfurling into the air before it. The gleam of its hardened scales shone out in the light of the chaos that it, and who knows any more of those creatures, created.
Beads of sweat and perspiration was forming upon the girl's skin. It was without a doubt that she was frightened and she had a good feeling of what was to come.
Run! her mind screamed at her as she tried unlock her legs, tried to force them to move. But they didn't want to budge.
The red dragon opened its massive jaws as the golden wisps started to form more together as it inhaled, the upper torso of the creature inflating and swelling, puffing out almost like a proud animal. No doubt this dragon was proud to be destroying the human race, and so effectively at that.
RUN!!! her mind shrieked again, and this time she broke out of her frightened stupor.
Without a second glance out of her window, the young girl turned on her heel and bolted to the door, going as fast as her legs could carry her, the adrenaline pumping through her form.
She reached the door and fumbled with the lock, her fingers slipping with the sweat that her body produced. She finally made the mechanism click open and she seized the handle, yanking it open and rushing out of her apartment and to the stairs as a loud deafening crash rang out behind her, followed by an eruption that shook the entire building, parts of the walls crumbling even more.
Not daring to look back she ran down the stairs as fast as she could, slipping on some of the steps but thankfully jumping to the next, using the railing as leverage to not fall down, knowing that if she did she wouldn't have enough time to get back up.
The stairs behind started to creak and fold, seeming to fall apart after her foot passed along it. Screams erupted all around her, passing easily through the walls as if they were made of air and she cringed at the pained noises.
Finally she reached the main floor and burst through the door that would lead to the lobby and she skidded to a halt at the carnage that was strewn before her.
The room itself had debris everywhere, none of the walls remaining intact. The desk had been smashed in two by a chunk of the ceiling, pieces of the wood tossed about the room. A shadow figure was lying under one half of the desk, its arm laying limply on the ground with dark liquid pooling around it.
Blood was the thought that immediately went through Asha's head as she tentatively approached the body, stopping dead short at what she saw.
It was the body of Mrs. Okanami. But it wasn't her whole form. Where the crumbling ceiling fell on her landed right through her neck, making a messy decapitation, and the girl, unwillingly, let her eyes wander to wear the bloody head laid, having most likely rolled away after the impact. The old woman's face still had an expression of screaming, being the last sound to over part from the old crone's lips.
The girl shook, trembling at the sight of the blood sodden form of the old woman and she could only imagine what happened to other people in the apartment. The screams could still be heard, but it was growing less and the explosions from the dragon's attack growing louder, the apartment shaking still and letting out groans as the building was threatening to fall.
Giving one last unwilling look to the old woman's decapitated form, Asha turned and dashed out the front, pushing through the doors with as much force as she can, her eyes clenching tight as she ran as far away from the apartment as she could. She didn't even dare turn to look back when she heard it crumbling to the ground.
All she did was run. She did not know where she were running to nor did she care. All she knew was that every human seen by a dragon was going to be killed and she would do everything she could to not let that happen. She didn't exactly know why, what with how only moments before she was thinking that death was her only release from the torture she had to endure, but didn't question in, going solely on instincts and would worry about her changing thoughts later.
In the back of her mind she knew where Seto was now. It was without a doubt that he would be in on this onslaught, having voiced so many times his disgust towards the human race.
The long black haired girl's eyes were wide with fear, tears now streaming out at the thought of what could occur if he found her. She'd rather die by another dragon's flame then his own. Perhaps he would not be interested with her, now that he was killing humans yet some small, ignorant part of her mind told her it wasn't true, that he would find her...
She shook her head roughly, not wanting to feel the foreboding feeling within her gut. Right now she had to concentrate on getting out of here as far as she can, no matter how unlikely it were to seem.
The only thought of where to go was Anya, her only real friend in this city. However her mansion was on the other side of town and Asha only knew how to get there by bus. She knew the general direction on where to run but not the exact turns or street names she was suppose to take.
But it was something.
It was the only something that was driving her forward right now. Driving her to live, even if the odds were against her.
She wanted to live.
* * *
Joey groaned as his eyelids flickered open and shut, a dull throbbing pain resonating within the back of his skull. Faint light seemed to be filling the room from behind his form as he firmly tensed his arms, pushing his sore form up, the taste of blood still within his mouth.
Blood.
His eyes widened and he spat out the taste and then whirled around, looking for the one he was fighting to protect, the one that he would not let get captured. Fighting for the one that had taken him in, wanting to help set him free, wanting to do anything for him, to give herself to so willingly for his safety...
"Jyde!" he called out desperately to the empty room, his voice coming out hoarse as his eyes viewed the room frantically.
But he knew. He knew she would no longer be here.
The dog hybrid growled and punched the floor as hard as he could, taking satisfaction in the slight pain that went through his hand as his fur bristled, anger setting in to his usually calm mind, anger of how he couldn't stop her from being abducted by Takuya and that doctor... anger that it was because of a simple want that she had gotten caught. His anger boiled like the faint red light that poured into the room behind him, giving the illusion of flames curling around his form, engulfing him in his rage...
Wait a minute. Fire?
Joey whirled around to face the kitchen windows and he could see that the sky behind it was alight with bright colours of red, orange and yellow, as well as the black night sky mixed within it.
Wanting to get a better look, he rushed into Jyde's room and opened the sliding door to the balcony, skidding to a stop and gripping the wooden frame as if it was a lifeline, his mouth hanging open in shock.
The whole town was in flames. The scent of smoke was strong and the dog hybrid was resisting the urge to hack out his lungs from the terrible stench and choking sensation.
His sensitive ears were up and at attention as the screams of humans, being torched within the inferno, were wafting along the whole city and were only drowned out when explosions erupted through various parts of the town. The stench of burning flesh almost outbound that of the thick black smoke and Joey gagged again and even though his eyes were now starting to water, his eyes didn't move away from the horrifying scene.
His mouth set into a grim line as his sharp eyes zoomed over the distant figures of dragons and hybrids of the same breed too. There were thousands of them, all high in the sky at various intervals of the city, letting loose their magic and fire down upon the humans.
As shocking as the scene was below him, this truly didn't surprise Joey. What with how Seto had ranted every night at Hot Furries N' Scales, it was only a matter of time till the hybrid went through with it. Joey only halfheartedly expected for the beast to be the blue eyed hybrid to be joking but knew deep down inside that Seto was ANYTHING but a joking creature. Everything he stated was with a serious tone and finality that whatever he said he was going to was to be done.
The fire was not near the apartment complexes around the dog hybrid's location but Joey knew that would only be temporary. He had to get out of here as soon as possible. Though he knew the dragons would not outwardly attack any other hybrid, they weren't really going to wait for them to evacuate a building that is full to brim with humans.
As Joey was about to tear his eyes away from the scene, two thoughts wormed its way into his skull...
More like two people to be exact.
Serenity and Jyde.
He had to save them both from this inferno, to make sure they were alright. But, what with how fast the flames travel from infrastructure to infrastructure and by how overjoyed the dragons were in their killing spree, the dog hybrid had the unsettling feeling in his gut that he would only have time to save one of them.
Hot Furries 'N Scales was in the part of town furthest from him, and already in flames. Even if he ran as fast as he could, he had the sickening notion that he wouldn't make it there in time. Perhaps even now it was too late.
As for Jyde, he had no idea where the doctor and Takuya had taken her, but he could surmise that it would be somewhere with scientific equipment. But she too could already be in the inferno, being consumed by this ungodly fire, though she probably would welcome it compared to the torture she was most likely receiving now.
His heart lurched at the thought of what those bastards were doing to her and how he couldn't stop them. He felt that it was his responsibility to save her before things got too bad.
Yet at the same, his sister was his blood and he couldn't leave her either.
Joey let out a strained growl, eyes clenching shut as his mind wracked for a solution, not wanting to play god, not wanting to have to only save one and not the other. But he had to and he knew he would be hurt either way that he can't save the one he didn't choose.
But it'd hurt a hell of a lot more if he didn't save either.
The blond haired dog hybrid finally opened his eyes, they being narrowed in determination as faint crease lines formed on his forehead.
There was a grim thought, maybe unlikely to occur, but still there, that the others from Hot Furries 'N Scales had been set free from Seto, who would most certainly go there to rescue his little brother. He knew as much as the dragon hybrid at times loathed the others, he wouldn't want them killed for they were like him, if not more accepting of the humans than he.
Also his group of friends were very close nit and they would look out for one another. Serenity was very close with all of them, especially Tristan and Mai and Joey felt a very warm, reassuring feeling that they would not just leave his sister behind.
It was a chance that he could be wrong but Joey didn't not let that notion worm its way into his mind. He remained firm, confident in his belief that his little sister would be alright and in the right hands of those who would protect her.
And he would be reunited with her, no matter what.
Joey nodded to himself, as if telling himself he made the right choice. There was no turning back and there would be no regrets. The dog hybrid was certain of it.
With one last grim look towards the blazing city full of screams and death, he lowered himself onto all fours and ran out of the condo, passing a few terrified humans on the stairs who were fleeing from their home as he left the building, his nose close to the ground, inhaling the very faint trail of Jyde's scent.
Once outside he sniffed around the pavement, trying to pinpoint its location. Though the stench of frightened humans were everywhere, Joey could still pinpoint the fairy's aroma, even if it was almost all but gone. He could pick it out anywhere, even if he was in a pile of a thousand fairies.
With determination fueling his limbs, he bounded forward, away from the carnage that was swiftly following him from behind, his eyes, ears and nose set in a deep concentration, a boundless determination to locate the fairy and rescue him.
He was going to get her. There was no second plans and there was not going to be any failures.
Jyde would be set free, no matter what.
* * *
His wings flapped effortlessly in the wind as he traveled along the wind, dipping up and down on the rising heat currents from the flames that he and his brethren conjured beneath him. His eyes closed in pleasure at the bone chilling cries, sending tingles down his spine, all to the tip of his tail as he let out a sigh.
He opened his deep sapphire eyes, letting the smell of death wash over him as he surveyed the carnage below. Charred flesh, rotting corpses, the humans who were still alive, but not for long, shrieking as his brethren and even the hybrids that had been chained down by this surpressing species were tearing their pitiful forms apart.
He would lazily fire off his electrical energy balls, or various different forms of threatening magic down on flailing humans, buildings that have not been incinerated yet or anything he deemed worthy to be set in flames; which would be the entire town in itself.
The humans gave very pitiful resistance, the military forces aiming to drive the dragons back obliterated with just one blast from any of the dragon hybrids. The humans forms of weapons were no longer affective on his kind.
Seto relished the thought that all around the world, every single human was going to be killed off, not a single one left alive. Oh they could run but they would be found within an instant. There was no hope for this miserable race.
The dragon hybrid, while cherishing the thoughts of carnage in his mind, soon came upon to his destination. Not needing to look around for any resistance, for any fool would die the minute they just even looked at him and also that his brethren were taking care of any resistance, Seto landed in front of Hot Furries N' Scales. The building was still intact but it wouldn't be for long.
Seto snarled slightly, having had to endure the humiliation of being held captive in this pig pen, being carted off for sexual acts with humans, though he had put a stop to that shortly with the harm he inflicted on those who rented him. It would bring sweet satisfaction to bring this business crumbling to the ground.
The televisions that would normally show various hybrids in sexual acts or of different merchandise were either off or crackling with fuzzy screens, the power in the building almost all but cut off.
With a wave of his hand, the doors in the entrance burst off of their hinges, flying into the building as the dragon hybrid stalked inside, inhaling the scent of who was left in the building.
The hybrids that were held prisoner in their cages were still trapped and this dismayed Seto to no end. Heartless humans, only intent on saving their own lowly hides when hybrids would do what they could to save their brethren. Pathetic.
Only one human was in this building... and it was-
"S-Seto! What have you done???" came the panicked cry of Al Gregorson, who had ducked behind the front desk when the doors were blasted off. His clothes were ruffled and sweat was apparent on his form as he cautiously approached the hybrid, his whole form shaking in fear.
The dragon hybrid observed him with a bored yet amused expression. He stretched the muscles within his right clawed hand, softly clicking his claws together, the human's eyes locked on his actions.
"What do you think fool? There has been a disease among us hybrids for far too long and I am the cure". Al sputtered at this, running his hands through his hair nervously.
"This is stupid Seto! Not all of us were cruel to your kind!" The dragon hybrid fixed him with a piercing glare at this comment.
"Those that perhaps did nothing to inflict pain upon us did nothing at all to free us! You think keeping us as pets is not cruel?! Having us locked in cages, poked and prodded by your physicians and then given off to your race to do whatever they pleased with us?! Do you think we see that as a form of sincerity? NO! You are all condemned to die for how you treat others!" the blue eyed creature spat out venomously as he turned his form fully toward the quivering man, who started to back up.
"S-Seto...p-please wait!" the owner pleaded but that entailed another growl from the hybrid before him.
"No. I have waited long enough for this moment to be rid of scum like you and I'm not going to sit idle for another moment. I cherish the thought of not having to see you again" the dragon hybrid said finally.
Before Al could plead with him anymore, there was a blur before him and where Seto once stood, he no longer was there. And before he could even discern where the dragon hybrid could have gotten, did a searing pain go through his own body and he choked as blood gushed from his lips.
His eyes growing faint and his head and chest full of mind blowing pain did Al look down, to see a bloodied clawed hand protruding from his chest. And within that hand was a slowly pulsing item that was still connected to his innards by a few tissues.
My heart was the last thought that went through the owner of Hot Furries N' Scales head before the clawed hand enclosed tightly around the organ, crushing it into a bloody pulp as the man let out another spat of blood before his head rolled to his left shoulder, now dead.
Seto's face was full of satisfaction as he pulled his arm out of the dead human's chest with a squelch, letting the body fall to the floor, landing with a wet thud noise. He kneeled down to wipe the bloody innards that stuck to his clawed hand along the back of the man's shirt before standing back up to full height and stalked towards the back where the enslaved hybrids were, never looking back on the death he caused.
Without giving a look at the passing prisoners, each cage he walked by rattled before the doors burst off of their hinges. The hybrids within looked at Seto with a cautious glance before tentatively stepping out of their cages, expecting to be cut down. However the hybrid heeded them no attention and seeing as no harm were to befall them from their savior, did the hybrids burst out of their cages, letting out various different sounds as they bounded out of the building, their cries of freedom echoing along the buildings walls.
Finally Seto stood before the last cage where the hybrids he spent the most time rested within. All of them viewed him warily and stood away from the bars, as if they would burn if they got too close to the dragon hybrid.
"Seto! Y-You came back!" came the cry of the small black sheep hybrid, who broke away from the others and clung to the bars as he looked up with tear filled eyes to his older majestic brother.
The dragon's hybrid, whose face was impassive before, broke into a small smile as he conveyed his brother with a loving gaze.
"Of course I would Mokuba. You are family. I would never leave you in the filthy clutches of the humans" he said with no waver in his voice as he approached the door.
With his still bloodied hand he grabbed into the bars and yanked the door effortlessly off of its hinges before carelessly tossing it aside.
Mokuba bounded up to him, clinging his brother around the waist as the dragon hybrid ran his clean hand along his younger brother's hair while the other hybrids cautiously exited the cage, all conveying Seto with a look of awe and partial fear. No one made any remarks to him, not even Malikku.
Seto raised his eyes to them, looking at them all seriously.
"You best all get out of here quickly. This city will be burned to the ground quite soon". And with that he bent down and scooped up Mokuba into his arms, cradling the young hybrid to him as he stalked past the others who all murmured amongst themselves as they followed the dragon hybrid out. Some were voicing concerns of other hybrids they knew, such as Serenity, hoping that her brother would be alright, while others were thinking of places where to go, like Dartz returning to the sea. Seto ignored them, their thoughts irrelevant to his plans. He wished no ill of them and was glad that the hybrids were finally being set free, but he was a dragon hybrid, and a very important one at that. He had plenty of matters to deal with and every hybrid knew not to trifle with his matters, lest they end with a painful death. All they needed to do was be grateful to him and live their lives in freedom and Seto would be satisfied.
A large majestic green dragon was awaiting Seto as he and the others exited the building. Seto carried Mokuba towards the beast while the other hybrids scurried away from the building, off to wherever they desire.
The green dragon lowered its head which was adorned with a single frill that ran down the spine of his back to the tip of his tail, spikes lining it on both sides. It gave Seto a look of respect with its deep orange eyes as Seto shifted Mokuba in his arms, readying to place the young hybrid on the dragon's emerald scaled head. But the black sheep hybrid gently clung to Seto and the older brother glanced down at him curiously but also with a gaze of understanding.
Mokuba knew very well of the deep hatred Seto had for the humans, and what his plans were. Mokuba never voiced his objections for he, although being his brother, was not a dragon hybrid himself. That did not make him less important to his brother's eyes, oh no, but he couldn't fathom the immense feelings of anger that dragons had towards humans.
Still Seto knew that Mokuba did not like murder or death unless it was of natural causes. Seto had always made sure to shelter the boy from the acts of violence that occurred around them, though now he could not, what with so many corpses lining the streets around them.
"They're all going to die... right?" he asked timidly. He looked into the deep blue eyes of his brother, who looked back gently into Mokuba's timid gray and purple ones. He let out a soft sigh but nodded.
"Yes".
Mokuba's eyes saddened and he broke his gaze from the dragon hybrid looking down at the ground. He let out a slow nod, as if he understood before speaking again.
"I wish Asha didn't have to die... I like her...".
It was said in a whisper, but Seto heard it nonetheless. His jaw clenched and his eyes hardened, not at his brother but at what he said. But, being a sheep hybrid and just the nature of his brother, Mokuba was a gentle soul and he had taken a great liking to the girl. She was very kind to him, after all.
Seto pursed his lips but said nothing as he hoisted his brother up onto the dragon's head. His brother gently clung onto the dragon's frill as he gazed down at his older brother.
"Do you want me to put a sleeping spell on you?" he asked gently. Mokuba thought for a moment, looking around at the mass of bodies that littered the ground, most of them being unidentifiable having been charred so badly by the flames. He turned his gaze back towards the dragon hybrid and shook his head.
"No... its ok. I'll be alright" he said softly. Seto knew that it would not be the case but respected his brother's wishes and nodded, before locking his gaze with the green dragon.
"Protect my brother well".
Of course my lord. No harm shall befall him the dragon replied with a firm tone before he unfurled his great green wings and with a great powerful flap, thrusted himself into the air, the black sheep hybrid clinging to the beast's neck as the dragon took off into the skies, flying away from the city back towards the dragon's home.
Seto watched his brother fly off for a moment before he too hurled himself into the air. He turned and gave one last glance at the hybrid sex store before flicking his wrist and with that, the building exploded into red flames, the Hot Furries N' Scales logo flying everywhere. With a grim smile Seto made his way towards the small part of the city that hadn't been damaged yet.
There was more thing he needed to collect, as much as he wished he could deny it. Yet, things would not go as planned if he didn't.
If that girl thought she could get away in a chaos like this, then she was sadly mistaken.
Seto smirked at the various thoughts as they played through his mind while heading towards Asha's location, his member going hard against the restricting material of the leather pants.
She was in for a very big surprise.
* * *
Running. That was all that Asha did. Run.
She didn't stop. She never looked back, not even when explosions rang out close to her where she passed. She didn't look back when struggling people screamed for help, crying for the dead loved ones or shrieking in pain at being desecrated by the dragons.
She never stopped, knowing if she did that it would be her downfall. Her heart went out to these tortured souls but, deep down inside, she knew it was everyone for themselves, and though she wished she could save everyone she passed from their ultimate demise, it was impossible and not deemed wise.
Right now all that mattered was that she lived. That she lived and to get to where Anya was, the only other person in this city that she cared for.
Asha tried to remember all the turns and directions to get to the mansion, but her mind was scrambled, fear being the only thing that kept resonating in her brain. She tried to squash it down with her necessity to get to Anya's, but it kept coming back up, harder then before.
There was not much destruction or fire to where she ran, which gave her the slight hope that the location of where Anya is was still undamaged, if only for now.
Though most street signs she passed were still intact, a lot of their names seemed unfamiliar even though she knew she had been down these roads before, whether by bus, in Anya's car or even walking. But they all seemed alien to her frantic mind.
She tried following her gut instinct, where she felt where Anya's home was. It was a guess and it could very bring her to a dead end, or even danger, but it was something. And something was better then nothing, as most of her fellow humans were experiencing.
Though she heard the roars and snarls of dragons and the hybrids, she was fortunate enough to not run into any. It felt weird, as if maybe they were purposefully leaving her alone, but she didn't look into it too much, not wanting to question her luck at the moment, for it could run out at any time.
Sweat dotted along her brow as she continued onward, taking another turn down a road, passing a few stragglers as she had a good feeling she was going in the right direction.
A figure was in the distance in front of her, on all fours. At first Asha thought it was someone who was hurt but then realized that by the way it moved and the fact that it had a tail, that it was a hybrid.
Her mind froze and she almost skidded to a halt, though her feet kept still moving onward. Fear rised through her quickly, fear that her luck had now run out and was going to die by the claws of a dragon hybrid.
However as fast as that fear came, it left just as quickly and was now replaced with curiosity. As she neared closer to the hybrid, who was paused in its movements and had its head down to the ground, she noticed that the hybrid's tail was covered in fur. Last she recalled, dragon hybrids had scales, not fur. Also, the hybrid seemed strangely familiar...
"Joey?!" she cried out softly, relief washing over her as she stopped before the hybrid, who turned towards her, eyes wide in surprise.
"Asha?! What are ya doing here?" the dog hybrid asked, and then let out a soft chuckle and shook his head. "Ok, stupid question... trying to escape right?" The girl nodded, rubbing her arms nervously.
"Yeah... I am... but I'm trying to get my way to my friend's... her place is on the other side of town which seems, at the moment, undamaged. What about you? Are you looking for your sister?"
Joey shook his head, pushing himself up so he stood only on his feet, as he looked deep into her eyes with a soft but determined look.
"No, I'm not. I know she'll be ok though, what with being with the others. No... I'm looking for my friend as well... who was... kidnapped by this weird doctor and Takuya" he stated, and then with noticing the confused look on the girl's face, added "The other owner of Hot Furries N' Scales, who is a total idiot but a bastard for taking my friend..."
Asha nodded in complete understanding, maybe not fully comprehending but getting the definite gist of how the dog hybrid felt.
"Thing is" he continued, scratching the back of his head as his ears drooped sadly, "I dunno where they took her... I know this doctor dude works on hybrids... probably horrible experiments... and I've been trying to follow her scent but now it just seemed to have stopped... and I don't know where to go".
Asha bit her lower lip, feelings the waves of sorrow and almost defeat wafting off of the blond before her. And though the long black haired girl had her own agenda and needed to get to Anya's, her heart went out to this hybrid. She wanted to help him... maybe if a little...
"You said the doctor looked like one that worked on hybrids?" At the blond dog hybrid's nod, Asha wracked her brain.
What with the fear having subsided momentarily, she tried to think of the corporations that studied hybrids. Only one came to her brain and for some reason she felt that it may help the dog hybrid.
"Well... there is Phorensic Enterprises. Its the biggest company that does research on hybrids. I can't remember the CEO's name but it could be your guy" she said. At this dog hybrid's ears perked up, his tail wagging behind him as he clasped her by the shoulders with his fluffy paws, eyes full of eagerness.
"Really?! Oh my god Asha, that's great! Do you know where it is???"
Asha was about to decline when suddenly, for some strange reason, she knew of its location, especially from where they were standing now. She found it odd that she knew how to get there and not to Anya's...
Suddenly her eyes widened. Anya's place was quite close to the enterprise and she would know exactly how to get there from the large corporation. She didn't understand how she could know all this information now. Perhaps it was because she was calmer now, or that being with Joey had calmed her nerves and thinking to help someone else was helping her. Whatever the reason, she didn't question it as she smiled.
"Yes I do. Um... do you mind if I accompany you? As weird as this sounds, once I get there, I'll be able to know how to get to my friend's place and... well... it'll be protection for the both of us... that is... well... if you want to go with a human" she said timidly, finally adverting her gaze, Seto's words of how pathetic humans were infiltrating her brain, as well as the current predicament of her race, who by now no hybrid wanted to help.
Joey, however, cocked his head to the side and lifted the girl's face to look him in the eyes and he smiled reassuredly.
"Asha... I'm not a dragon hybrid. I know not all humans are evil, and you're definitely not one of them. I'd love for ya to come with me. I don't mind having some company and I do appreciate you helping me with this... and in return, I'd like to help you. I can't say I can stop a dragon hybrid's attack, but I can know when they're nearby so we can hide" he stated calmly and the girl smiled at him, relaxing.
"Thanks Joey" she whispered.
"Nah Asha. Thank you" he replied, giving her a big grin, his ears flopping over his face.
With a nod, her eyebrows furrowed with determination and she with a glance around at their current location, took off in the direction that she knew was the way to Phorensic Enterprises, the dog hybrid following her closely, both them brimming to the full with determination to complete their goals of reuniting with their friends.
They were going to succeed, even if the final outcome wasn't pleasant. They knew they had to at least try, and if they did, then it would work out, one way, or the other.

Jyde groaned as she opened her eyes, her body feeling numb from the electrical shocks that she had to endure. That had hurt quite a bit. She felt her brain had almost been turned into scrambled eggs though she knew who had done it now that she wasn't in the shocking pain.
She let out a sigh and tried to stretch when she realized she couldn't move her limbs. Eyes snapping open wide, she looked up and noticed that her arms and legs were spread open wide, her body inside a large titanium circle connected to a large metal base that had consoles on all sides. Her wrists and ankles were locked into cuffs. They were quite cold and it sent a chilling feeling through her.
Looking at herself she was in her original form. Her wings still felt as if they were burning and it sent a slight feeling pain everytime they twitched. Glancing at her frame she was glad that thankfully she still had her fairy garments still on. For how long, she wasn't sure, but even that notion she didn't want to think of.
Looking around her, she was in a very large room. There were consoles everywhere and a huge flat screen on the wall in front of her that was showing diagnostics of her body, such as blood pressure, type of blood, how her nervous system ran and various other scientific information. Feeling disgusted and to a point guilty that this information was being drawn from her form, she looked elsewhere.
A large window was to her right and the light that seemed to be coming in was a red, orange and yellow hue and it made the white room she was glow those colours as well. She was confused but couldn't think too deeply into it as two people came up to the platform to look up at her.
Turning her gaze towards them, she grimaced.
"So glad that you have awaken my dear" Dr. Richardson let out softly, typing on the console attached to the platform in front of her. His tone of voice sounded like he was a teacher starting of his class lesson, and she was the lesson.
"That's a very interesting outfit you're wearing" Takuya sneered, standing right by the doctor as he was looking at Jyde hungrily, and she could tell the obese man was undressing her with his eyes. She wrinkled her nose in disgust, especially when he added "But I bet you'll look more interesting without it..."
The doctor let out a sigh as he continued clacking away, turning slightly to address one of his fellow scientists who handed him a clipboard. He scanned over the items and nodded, handing it back to them before they went to a console that was behind her.
Jyde strained to look over her shoulder and notice there were six other scientists in the room. The guards that had abducted her earlier were not present.
Probably guarding this room she thought before returning her gaze to the two men in front of her. Dr. Richardson looked at Takuya with a disdained expression.
"Well for now Takuya we are going to be studying her and conducting experiments, not doing a pornography film" he stated firmly before returning to his work. Takuya scowled at the doctor, who either took nor notice or ignored it, before resuming his hungry gaze of the fairy before him.
Jyde did everything in her power to not be more grossed out by his gaze then ever, knowing she need to concentrate on other things. She knew that there was no point trying to summon her magical powers. She could feel that her powers were being repressed by the machine and everytime she tried to summon even a sliver of magic, a small shock went through her.
The doctor, noticing the readings on his console, looked up at her and smirked, shaking his finger at her.
"Now now, lets not get hasty or I'll have to wait till you wake up again before continuing. And though I could still get my information from you when you're asleep, its a lot more fun when you're awake. But... I suppose I could let Takuya have his way with you, as long as he doesn't mar you too much with his... activities. So by all means, go right ahead and summon your magic" he sneered. Jyde paled at the images flowing through her head if she passed out and glanced at Takuya warily, her stomach clenching horribly at the face the man was giving her. The lust in his dark eyes knew no bounds and she could almost see the perverted thoughts going through them.
She closed her eyes in disgust and turned her away, letting herself not bother with her magic, wanting to be alert and aware of what they do to her than being unconscious.
Speaking of being unconscious...
Her eyes roved the room frantically, her stomach clenching uncomfortably as what she searched for was not in the room. Her eyes locked with the two men, them narrowing in deep concern.
"Where is Joey?!"
Dr. Richardson didn't raise his head as he kept running his fingers along the console, his voice taking on an uninterested tone as he replied.
"We left that worthless mutt back at the condo. Needless to say I've dissected enough of them that I have every little worthless fact about them memorized. Whether he's dead or alive I do not know, nor do I care. And even if he were alive, he wouldn't be able to track us with that pathetic nose of his. We've applied a special chemical on our bodies so that no hybrid could trace us, and along the way we applied the same to your form. And even if we didn't, what with all the destruction those dragon hybrids are causing... he'll be lucky to stay alive, if find you even".
Jyde's eyes widened at the comment and she let out a startled gasp, not believing what was happening. Her eyes snapped back to the window, now realizing why the bright colours of red, orange and yellow were there.
"The dragon hybrids are attacking?!" She couldn't believe it. The leader of the dragon hybrids had finally declared the attack...
"Isn't that just what I said?" he said as he finally finished what he was typing, looking up to her. "They started their attack nearly an hour ago... and sad to say we are losing. Nearly the whole town is destroyed and from the broadcasts around the world, we're not the only one".
"If that's so then why aren't you all trying to escape?! Why are you wasting your time extracting my information when you may all be killed?!" she demanded desperately and could only gape when the doctor fixed her with a bewildered stare before he let out a hearty laugh.
"And why shouldn't I extract your information?! I've been waiting for this moment for years! You hybrids are the ticket to our immortality! Your life span far exceeds ours and your aging process is slowed greatly and some of you don't age at all after you've fully grown! You rarely get sick and have all different kinds of powers! I'm not going to let a little dragon attack stop me! What with your DNA we'll be able to find a way to survive their attacks and then strike back. We will rebuild the human race and we'll be even more superior then before! And don't you fret your little head, I will not die. We still have plenty of time before the dragons reach our location and by then I'll get all the information I need and then we can make our getaway to my secret laboratory in the Atlantic and don't worry, we'll be taking you along with us".
Jyde visibly paled as she let all this information sink in, surprised beyond doubt at this human's beliefs; that his research was more then the impending danger. He was insane, that was for sure, and also not as smart as he thought he would be. Grimly she knew that even if he succeeded in doing something with her information, dragons far surpassed fairies. They were more powerful then any being on the planet and the humans had been lucky to kill the ones that they have. But Jyde knew better then to let that information slip, no matter much the doctor would torture her. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of breaking completely under his command.
"Now enough of this banter. The more chatter, the less time we have to study you my dear. Now, power up the sphere!" he commanded to the scientists that stood behind the fairy.
She could hear the firm sounds of the switches being flicked on and the sound of the machine that she was strapped to whirring to life. Faint blue light started to glow out from the titanium circle and around her shackles, becoming brighter with each passing second till it shone a bright cyan blue, as bright as a clear sky day.
An uncomfortable heat wafted from her bindings. It was as if she was threatened to be burned and not by just normal fire. Normal fire was soothing, even if engulfed the forests, but only if it were the natural forest fires. But this head... was dangerous... and potentially life threatening.
"Start phase one!" Dr. Richardson barked out.
Jyde let out a shriek of pain as silver electrical bolts shot out from the interior of the titanium circle, the source coming from the blue light, striking out at her form, going through all her limbs, her torso, wings and face. What she felt was nothing that she felt before. She felts as if her insides were being torn into two and she almost thought she could hear her wings rip from the immense heat.
The fairy jerked repeatedly at the shocks, her blue green eyes unable to close, no matter how hard she tried. And her gaze could not stray from the faces of the doctor and Takuya, where the old man was staring at her intently, a wide smile on his face while the obese man could only stare in awe at what the machine did.
Behind the two men various bits of information uploaded into the database, going deeper into the physiology of her kind. She tried to close her mind to the intense probing feelings but found she was unable to, as if the machine was locking into her weaknesses and keeping her will at bay so she could not prevent the information being extracted.
The feelings of guilt and defeat that welled in her heart almost surpassed the damage that was being inflicted upon her physically.
The old man gave a nod of his head and the power was shut down, the silver bolts sizzling into the air, crackling as they dispersed. Jyde hung limply from her restraints, feeling every inch of her skin burned that she dared not move. Her wings ached immensely and she dared not look if any serious damage had occurred. A ringing noise went through her delicate elfen ears, the buzzing so intense that it nearly caused her a headache, though she pretty much had one before.
She couldn't even close her eyes, as if the layer of skin over her eyeballs were burned. She could still see, if her vision being a bit hazy. She almost even wanted to cry but she knew that would sear her flesh upon her face even more.
"Amazing... brilliant... I never knew one of these magical beings could hold so much information..." the CEO gasped as he surveilled the large screen, his eyes roaming over every bit of information that flickered along the screen.
"What are you going to do next doctor?" one of his scientists asked from behind the room and though his tone was soft, Jyde mentally winced at the sharp sound to her sensitive ears.
"Why gather more information of course! We're so close my friends... so close to obtaining the formula to our survival! To our immortality!" he boomed out to the room, his voice reverberating off the walls around him that Jyde let out a whimper of pain as her ears rang louder, almost to the point that she swore she could feel her eardrums were about to burst and let blood trickle down along her face.
Before the mad scientist could order his employees to start off the next round, a loud explosion erupted near the side of the building and the whole area shook. Some of the scientists let out cries of surprise as they fell to the ground, the screens around them having lines of static go along their smooth windows. The lights flickered for a moment before they resumed their brightness. Even the machine that Jyde was attached to seemed to be deciding whether to stay on or off but, unfortunately for the fairy, it remained on.
She had cried out at the noise, but also out of shock. Though her powers were being repressed, she could sense something with immense energies was close to the building. Straining her neck, she did her best to ignore the pain that shot through her as she gazed out the window, seeing puffs of thick black smoke rising upwards. The colours of the red, orange and yellow flames were brighter now, and a lot closer too.
"W-What was that?" Takuya stammered, having got down on his knees and had his hands over his head as he peered around wearily.
"What do you think?" the old CEO snapped. He had clung to the console in front of Jyde to steady his balance. "Report!"
"Sir, the dragons have changed their course of attack! They're now within the vicinity and its only going to be a matter of seconds before this whole area is destroyed!" one of them replied, a young man. Jyde could see the paleness of his skin and his hands that shook slightly.
"What?! We were suppose to have two hours before they would come here! I did the calculations and I'm never wrong!" Dr. Richardson snarled, making his way over to the young man.
"Well sir... I'm sorry... but you are... the rest of the city has already been destroyed... this is the only sector left" he replied meekly as the older man shoved him away before he read the statistics himself, slamming his hands down onto the console.
"Damnit! Those blasted flying lizards! I underestimated them". One of the female scientists close to him began to speak.
"Sir... we should ready our escape... if we leave now-"
"No! We are NOT going to leave you hear me! We are going to finish the job!" he snapped, whirling around to glare at her.
"Umm... perhaps we should go Richardson. Your information isn't going to do you any good if we're dead... you should have enough already..." Takuya mumbled, now finally on his feet as his eyes flickered from the doctor to the window many times.
"What's the matter Takuya? Losing faith on me now? Don't tell me you're afraid of just a few dragons! Such an indecisive man! First you're nearly wetting yourself for the experiments to be done on this fairy, especially with the promise that I would let you play with her later and now you got your tail between your legs just because of a little explosion! You're pathetic! You all are!" the owner of Phorensic Enterprises snapped as he conveyed them all with a look of disgust before turning back to his employees.
"Now begin phase two!" he demanded.
As the command rang through the room did another explosion erupt against the building, but this time it actually touched it. Not the level that they were on, but Jyde surmised that it was in the lower levels. If anybody else was in this building, the fairy could not hear them, what with how weakened she was but also that this room was soundproof to anything outside of its walls, with the exception of the blasts of fire that the dragons were unleashing. Though she knew very well if anyone else was here, they were screaming in terror.
The doors to the room at her left burst open as two soldiers clad in the metallic armour, the ones that had brought her here, came towards Dr. Richardson, rifles held firmly in their steeled grips. With the doors being open now, faint shrieks were wafting up from the lower levels. Some humans, other hybrids. Jyde closed her blue green eyes to the noise, it sending chills down her spine.
"Sir, we have to evacuate now! The lower levels of the building are engulfed from the last attack by the dragon hybrids! It'll be impossible to leave through the main entrance now. We must leave through the armoured choppers on the roof" one of them stated.
"No no no! We're not leaving! We're not leaving till we finish examining this fairy!" the CEO hissed fiercely. The two soldiers conveyed him with mild surprise, but at this point none of his other employees felt the same enthusiasm.
Before the old man could issue anything to his followers, did all the other scientists rush out of the room, their fear overlapping their loyalty to their research. When the old man tried to reach for one of them, they slapped his hands away.
"Your research will do nothing for the humans if we're all dead! Your mission will go down and take anyone with it who is foolish enough to remain by your side when our last moments are almost up! We're not the cowards, you are!" and with that the scientist ran out, letting the old man stop in his tracks, replaying the words in his head.
One of the two guards stepped away from the other, approaching the doctor, reaching out to grasp his arm but the old man tugged it away.
"Sir, you really should come-"
"Get out of here! I'm not going. You're all the cowards, I'm not. I will succeed and I'll prove it to you all and then you'll come crawling back!" the CEO seethed fiercely. The guard looked at him with bewildered eyes but then sighed, looking at his partner before both of them ran out after the others, the doors shutting behind them.
Takuya was shuffling his feet nervously, sweat appearing upon his brow as his eyes kept looking back from the blazing inferno outside the window to the old doctor to finally the door before him. Finally making up his mind he went up to the door, the doctor unmoving as he went by him. The obese man felt a feeling fo relief pass through him-
"Not so fast Mr. Kagurashi. Seeing as you're the one who brought me this lovely hybrid, you have the privilege on staying to observe the outcomes" Dr. Richardson said darkly, baring his white teeth as he had seized the larger man by the arm. The owner of Hot Furries N' Scales eyes widen as he started to sputter.
"But-But doctor... what use am I-I-I? I really should just-"
"-stay. I insist" the older man ordered as he shoved Takuya back towards the console in front of Jyde, the other man's eyes wide with fear as he kept gazing at the window. Jyde mused to herself darkly, amused at how much of a pathetic man the obese one really was, having no sense of backbone even against his own kind.
"Keep an eye on those readings. If they hit into the red zone let me know. I don't want her to pass out in the next phase just yet" he stated as he moved to the large switches that were behind the hybrid, flipping each one slowly one by one. Takuya stared warily at the console before him as he did, though his eyes still went to the window.
"And now... phase two..." came the doctor's statement as the last lever was flipped.
Cries of agony reverberated off the walls again as Jyde's body tensed from all the pain that surged through her, but this time instead of silver bolts of energy that came from the machine, they were red. Jyde could almost swear as if now her organs were getting the main force of the pain, feeling them boil from the intense heat. It was like she was a living bomb, about to be set off. Trickles of fluid ran out of her ears and without even looking she knew it was her blood.
Small sears of pain appeared on various parts of her body and more blood flowed out of her, her body's resistance wearing out to the pain. Her eyes were wide and her vision was almost going completely white. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest, the blood pumping out of her faster then it was going in.
I'm going to die... her mind thought weakly, amazed that she could even with the pounding headache she had. She could swear her head would also split in two, like everything else. I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... Joey...
A loud bang echoed into the room as the doors burst open, slamming against the walls, adding more noise to the intense chaos Jyde was already hearing.
"Damn it I said I'm not going now and that's-" the doctor yelled over Jyde's cries before his voice caught in his throat, eyes wide before narrowing at the figure, his hands gripping the switch possessively.
Jyde turned her head, despite the electrical shocks and her eyes widened a bit at who she saw in the open doorway.
"J-Jo...o..ey..." she coughed out, now blood coming out of her mouth. But she was happy, even in the state she was in. Happy that he was alive... happy that she could see him for one last time.
The dog hybrid's limbs were tense and his ears were laid flat back on his head as he surveyed the scene. His eyes were wide with alarm at the damage that was happening to the fairy hybrid, the beautiful yet deadly bolts of red electricity running in and out of her in her cage. Blood was oozing out of various pores of her body and her look on her face... he could sense that she wanted to die before anymore could occur. Yet right now it was a gaze of... adoration? Whatever the gaze, it was for Joey and Joey alone and his heart clenched. He would get her out of here, one way or the other.
"So the pathetic canine managed to survive his way and find us here? I'm impressed... perhaps you're not as useless as I thought" the doctor mused coldly. The dog hybrid growled.
"The only thing that is useless are people who hide behind their fancy technology or guards when trying to obtain something that they're too weak to get for themselves... and that is you and fat man over there" he snapped, gesturing his paw to Takuya while keeping his eyes locked on the older man. If Takuya had any objections he kept it to himself and that suited the blond dog hybrid fine. The bigger threat was the CEO.
"Oh such big words coming out of us such a lowlife. Shouldn't you know better then to talk back to a human mutt? Dogs are suppose to be loyal to their masters".
"Dogs are only loyal to those who treat with them respect. Not abuse. Perhaps at first they may listen, but they're only biding their time before they can strike" Joey snarled, baring his fangs as he readied himself.
"Oh really? Well by all means try... and fail!" the doctor goaded, his arms opened wide. "But of course if you kill me, then who will help your little fairy friend?"
Joey's stance faltered only slightly as he stole another glance at Jyde, who was still shrieking this whole time, having now broken her gaze with the hybrid and was still twitching. But her movements were slowing. The dog hybrid knew he didn't have much time. He looked back at the doctor.
"Better her to die then to be forever trapped in your clutches of torment".
"Such the philosopher today? Well let's see-" he started but was cut off at Takuya's frantic cries.
"D-Doctor! The readings are in the red! Her body is failing! And... well other scientific crap I don't know!" The fat man was fidgeting as he was trying to understand the console but failed miserably.
"What? Damnit!" the doctor snapped, distracted, and Joey took his chance.
Muscles flexed, the dog hybrid darted over and before the old man could he react, he pounced on him, shoving him away from the switch, his back foot hitting against the switch, shutting it off and thus ending the electrical nightmare that the fairy was put under.
Jyde's gasps of air came to his ears and the hybrid inwardly smiled grimly, knowing she was ok for now before resuming his attention on the old man, who was struggling with him. Without a moment's hesitation he brought his jaws down on the human's left shoulder, his fangs ripping into the tender flesh, the lab coat absorbing the blood as the CEO let out cries of pain, cries that Joey revelled in and he pursued further.
Paying only attention to his shoulder, however, Joey did not notice the doctor fumbled for something in his pockets before bringing it down on Joey's head, knocking him off him.
His head throbbed profusely as he was forced off the man. He got to his feet quickly, rubbing his head but then stopped at the item in the doctor's hands.
"Another gun? Sheesh doc... I'm not an old dog... ya can't knock me out twice with the same trick... my head is too hard" he snickered at the man, wiping the blood from his lips with the back of his right paw while his left massaged the hit spot on his head a bit more till it lessened to a dull ache.
Dr. Richardson smirked, managing to still remain steady even with the immense pain in his shoulder as he raised the gun, pointing it to the dog hybrid, who didn't seem perturbed at all before he pointed it at Jyde, causing Joey's eyes to widen.
"You wouldn't... you need her!"
"True but I got most of the information I need... course as much as I plan on keeping her alive... I may be provoked to do otherwise..." he let it hang, the gun tightly held in his grip.
The dog hybrid pursed his lips, judging the situation. He didn't want to risk anything but he had a good feeling that the old man was lying. People's ambitions don't change over night, no matter how corrupt they are.
"Besides, I doubt you want to see this lovely hybrid hurt anymore, do you? Whether by my machines or this gun..." he let it trail in the air and Joey growled again. True that the old man could shoot at Jyde and wound her, but not enough to kill her, though she looked close enough already.
"J-J..oe..y..." Jyde rasped out and immediately Joey turned her attention towards her, though he could still sense the older man's movements.
"Jyde... please don't talk... everything will be alright..." he gently told her. The strawberry blond haired hybrid coughed up more blood but shook her head weakly.
"N-No... J..oey... it won't... at least for me... but I'd rather this happen to me... than you... get out of here... find your sister... it was good to see you... one last time...". Joey scoffed at the statement, causing Jyde to strain to turn her head to him, eyelids fluttering to stay open.
"You can't get rid of me that easily. Dogs just don't run away when someone tells them to. I'm getting you out, whether you agree or not" the hybrid said with a smirk. The blond dog hybrid could swear that if the girl wasn't already red with all the damage that went through her, that she was blushing deeply at his statement.
"How touching. Too bad I'm not one for happy endings other than my own" Dr. Richardson said in a bored tone before cocking his gun.
"No!" Joey snapped, whirling to charge at him.
A third explosion however stopped them both. It hit the building, like the last but this time...
... it hit on their floor.
The wall with the window erupted in a burst of a fire, the energy rushing into the room in front of Jyde, the flames seeming not to touch her. It was heading towards Takuya's position.
The obese man let out a shrill cry of terror as he turned and tried to run away from the flames but he was too slow and they were too fast.
Joey and Dr. Richardson looked on with widened gazes as the flames curled around the man, his screams still ringing out as his mass was absorbed into the inferno. They could see his flailing limbs as the fire ate away at his plump flesh, before following with the muscle and even the bone.
And as soon as it happened, it stopped, the fireball continuing through to the other opposite wall, smashing through it, the metal dissolving almost immediately at its touch. They could still hear crash through the walls and when they looked back at where the former owner of Hot Furries N' Scales, nothing had remained, not even ashes.
Joey ran up to Jyde, ignoring the doctor as he tried to discern how to free her. The power to machine had been cut, what with the fireball having also taking out the console in front of the girl, along with any machinery that it was close to, having also blackened the large screen before. Cracks lined its deadened frame, some shards falling out to the ground below.
"No! My research! All my information! NO!!!" Dr. Richardson cried as he frantically ran over to the destroyed consoles, gun still in hand as he was surveying the damage
Joey ignored him, fumbling with the locks on the girl's shackles as the fairy observed him weakly, straining to keep her eyes open and to stay awake, to not fall into unconsciousness. The dog hybrid took notice and gently spoke to her while he continued tugging at the restraints.
"Fall asleep if you want... everything will be ok". She shook her said, letting out a soft croaked laugh.
"On the brink of death with you in front of me? No... I want to stay away and see you for as along as I can..." she whispered, causing the dog hybrid to small, who replied with.
"You're not going to die".
Finally the dog hybrid was successful and his ears perked up as he succeeded in releasing the ankle cuffs and then soon after the wrists. Jyde groaned softly as she fell over out of her imprisonment and Joey gently caught her, shifting her so she was cradled in his arms, one arm around her shoulders, being very careful around her wings, while the other lifted her up from under her legs. She winced slightly at the touch but the blond dog hybrid could do nothing of it at the moment. When he turned to face the front, he wasn't too surprised of the doctor holding the gun towards his face from his position.
"You're not going anywhere with my fairy" he hissed. Joey's eyebrows raised before he let out a growl.
"She's not yours. She doesn't belong to anyone. We hybrids live differently then by your flawed human rules".
"Well you did a good job of obeying us when you did" the human retorted. Joey let out a laugh.
"Sometimes ya have to do what you can to survive. It was... amusing if anything. But now things are different doctor, as I'm sure you can see. The time of humans is almost coming to a close... make most of your life doc and get out of here".
"Not without that bloody fairy!" Dr. Richardson shrieked, pulling the trigger of the gun.
Acting fast, a hybrid's reflexes far superior to a human's, Joey ducked out of the way of the blast, the bullet hitting the titanium ring before ricocheting back, imbedding itself into the elderly man's already wounded shoulder. The man let out a shriek of agony as he stumbled back, hitting himself against the blackened screen.
Joey took a few steps back as cracks formed along the already damaged screen, the noises growing louder. The CEO looked up, eyes wide and mouth opened to let out a startled scream as he took, mesmerized by the large falling shards.
With a deafening crash they engulfed the old man and Joey watched with a calm gaze as the thick screen pieces cut into his body and limbs, crushing him to the floor. He had landed on his chest, struggling to push himself up but was unsuccessful, with the damaged screen crushing his lower torso. Blood was oozing out everywhere, seeping along the floor towards the two hybrids as the man struggled to reach for them, the gun having been knocked out of hand, laying feet away from him.
"N-No... my research... m-my life's work..." he gasped, struggling against the chains of what he had created, the chains that now were slowly taking away his life.
Groans from the buildings walls ran out around them and Joey took that as the sign that they could not remain any longer. Turning away from the doomed man and gently tightening his grip on the fairy in his arms, the blond dog hybrid ran out of the now collapsing room, taking no heed to the cries of CEO of Phorensic Enterprise.
All he did was run, his goal set on getting himself and Jyde to freedom. He didn't look back as walls crumbled around him, he didn't look back as the building collapsed the minute they were out of its threshold and he didn't look back when the rest of the city was consumed by flames as he entered deep into the forest.
He had learned a long time ago, after his parents death that you can't move forward if you're always looking back. Living in the past would lead you to an early grave. Living for the now and the future was what made you survive. Both he and the fairy had learned that lesson well.
He looked down at the fairy in his arms, who looked up at him with a tender smile. Joey returned the smile but said nothing. Unknown to the girl, the dog hybrid was slowly coming to the conclusion that she was his present and future.
* * *
Asha did not dally long as she watched the blond dog hybrid run into the massive building of Phorensic Enterprises. She had her own mission to do, but she wished with all her heart that Joey would be able to save his friend and somewhere, deep down inside, she knew he would
The scenery now looked familiar to her as she ran along down very streets, as if she had known her way to Anya's like the back of her hand. Once she found her friend the two of them would get out of here. Where she wasn't sure on going, but far away from here was certain.
Everything was changed now and if indeed everywhere else around the world was being attacked, then there was no safe haven for humans now. Dragon hybrids would hunt them down and without a doubt she was sure most hybrids, unlike the few such as Joey, would attack her too.
But all in good time. It wouldn't do good to think too far ahead when there were more pressing matters first, such as reaching that goal.
Her spirits brightened when she entered the mansion district and they rose even more when she could see the outline of Anya's home. But it faltered soon after when that outline was enshrouded in flames.
Panic rose as she increased her speed of running, her heart hammering in her chest as the building became clear. Her eyes widened as she viewed the flames curling from the various windows, nearly half of the building being blasted away. The massive luscious green lawn that was once there, well kept and maintain, was now all charred black and littered with what was left of various objects, whether vehicles, the mansion itself or... the remains of the people in the mansion.
The gate that led up to the mansion, once beautiful in its steel design, arching up to wards the sky, was now melted, warped and twisted, as if giving the image leading into a hell spawned world.
Asha desperately ran from one side of the gate to the next, looking frantically at the mansion, wondering if Anya was still inside trapped or if she had gotten out. There was no way of telling. If she went in she could be signing her own death if the other girl had escape, or already died. However if she didn't go in, Anya may very well be in there.
A female cry right to her position brought Asha out of her thoughts, her head snapping to where it came from. The cry sounded familiar... could it be Anya? Was she in trouble? Or was it someone else? The long black haired girl took one last wary glance to the burning mansion before heading off to the direction of the scream.
She finally saw four figures lying in the street, causing Asha to quicken her pace, her brain zooming with various thoughts of how to help them if it was indeed Anya and whoever else was with her. Flames flickered on various homes around the four figures and when Asha got closer, the light from them shone over the four beings and she skidded to a halt, her hand covering her mouth, feeling herself go pale.
It was indeed Anya who had been crying out, but of something completely different. The other three figures were her hybrids, Matthew, Zack and Alister. And they were all having sex.
Yet, it wasn't consensual... at least on Anya's part.
Anya was naked, blood and dirt covering her frame. Tears were running down her face continuously, her mascara running with it. All three of her whole were filled. She was on her knees, Zack underneath her thrusting into her vagina rapidly, his fangs nipping harshly into her hanging breasts. One of her nipples almost seemed completely bitten and the cheetah hybrid was lapping at the blood coming out of it like he was child weaning off of his mother's milk.
Matthew was kneeling behind her, thrusting into her rectum, his clawed hands gripping Anya's arms tightly, twisting one over the other, stretching her limbs, forcing them to move beyond the resistant hold of the human body.
Asha bit into her hand to muffle her cry a Matthew twisted the arms so much there was a sickening crunch and Anya screamed out in pain, Matthew leaving her arms like that, hanging limply on her, the joints at her elbows twisted and broken; she could see the shattered radius and ulna jutting out of her skin, like a seedling trying to burst out of a restrictive ground. Blood was gushing out from the gaping wounds as the dingo hybrid embedded his claws into her hips, tearing at the soft flesh, almost ripping it out as he let out low growls of ecstasy.
Alister was the one kneeling in front of her, grabbing her head roughly with his own clawed hands, forcing her mouth on his erection, moving her head roughly up and down on her length, his claws digging into her head, more blood pouring out of it as she her cries were muffled against the unwanted blowjob she was giving.
All Asha could do was stare at the damage the three hybrids were causing her friend. They once were her loving playmates in the bedroom and now they were her tormentors, her rapists, her executioners.
Sounds of more bones erupted into the air and Asha couldn't help but let out a small sound of worry. Though all four of them heard. The three hybrids viewed Asha maliciously, almost halting in their movements. The long black haired girl could see her friend's tear stricken blue eyes dart to hers, sending mixed images directly into the long mixed coloured girl's eyes. Fear, begging, requiring help... even death.
The hybrids made no move towards Asha. They just watcher her intently, as if daring to help her friend. Asha wanted her, she desperately did... but...
She had this coming to her for a long time...
Asha had no idea where that thought in her brain came from, nor did she want to believe it but something nagged at her that the voice was right. But the girl would never really know. She was the one who never saw the more darker side of the girl; everyone else did, even Anya's parents, but never Asha. She was Anya's only friend who really cared for her... and Anya didn't want to ruin that image with what she was like. The long black haired girl had even changed her nature somewhat... but it was already too late.
The only peace she would get would be death.
Tears streamed from Asha's eyes as she conveyed the scene one more, her red, black, blue orbs burning into Anya's opaque looking blue ones. And then she turned and ran, the sounds of her friend's muffled screams and her three hybrids laughter growing faint behind her.
Asha didn't know what to do now. She had no one else to turn to and no where else to go. The city was almost completely destroyed and she knew she had to get out, but now she was on the brink of wondering if it was worth it anymore.
As she ran a dark shadow was flying over her. Daring to look up she let out a startled cry as her eyes roved over three dragon hybrids that were hovering above her, all looking down at her maliciously.
"Well well well... what do we have here? A lowly human who seems to have survived the inferno... but not for long" one of them snickered. He had short messy bright green hair, almost of an electric lime colour. His eyes were bright yellow. His wings, tail, claws and horns were all of a slightly darker shade of green with black tattoo like markings that ran along it.
"I wonder if she'll be better then the last one" another one spoke, being long black haired, red eyed dragon hybrid. His horns curled out, similar to a ram's and were silver in colour.
"Feh, she's a human. They're maggots, even lower than that. Of course she isn't going to be good" the last one scoffed, his hair of a spiked red colour with golden eyes. His dragon appendages were of a blood red colour, along with blue markings, his tail having a nasty looking spade at the end.
Asha knew better then to stick around gawking, especially when they were all forming fireballs of various different colours within the palms of their hands, ready to unleash them on her.
Without a second thought she turned and ran again as they rained their deadly energies at her. Fatigue was taking a toll on her body and though she had adrenaline running through her veins, the pain in her legs was a warning that she wouldn't be able to keep up much longer.
Though she did her best to avoid them, she knew deep down they were just playing with her, letting her think that she could get away when they could easily swoop in and snatch her. Still she would try. At least if they were to kill, which was most definite, she had made an effort to try to get away.
As already desecrated buildings exploded once again as she ran by them, her focus was less on where she was going but more to get away. And because of that, when she made the next turn, she arrived at a dead end.
She abruptly stopped, looking at the three high brick walls that towered meters above, proving that it was useless for her to escape. Hearing the sound of swooping wings behind her, she whirled around the face the three dragon hybrids, now effectively blocking her path.
"Now what should we do with this one my brothers?" the green one asked.
"To be honest I wouldn't mind skinning her and then eating her organs. The last human we had was barely an appetizer" the silver one replied.
"Let's toy with her first before eating her. She seems to be submissive yet resilient to boot. You don't see those complexities in humans" the red one remarked.
"Well then, all of the above!" the green one declared. They all bared their fangs at her, closing in on the terrified, who had fallen onto her behind, her legs having finally given way to exhaustion. She crawled backwards but knew it was over when her back hit the brick wall, and they were just within touching her-
"That being is mine. She is to be punished by my hand and mine alone" came a bone chilling voice, and a familiar one at that, from behind the three dragon hybrids.
Stepping aside and turning, the dragon hybrids and Asha gaze at the lone figure at the entrance of the alleyway. When Asha finally realized who it was, she let out a small cry.
"N-No..."
"Why yes you stupid girl. Think you could of escaped me that easily? Foolish mortal..." Seto sneered as he stepped slowly towards them, his clawed feet clacking against the asphalt. The other three dragon hybrids gave a small bow of their heads.
"My lord, forgive us, we did not know" the green one stated. Asha's eyes blinked at the title, letting it sink through her before she paled.
If they were calling him their lord, it was no doubt about-
"Yes, simple minded girl. I am the king of the dragon hybrids... ruler of all hybrids on this planet" he said cooly, his expression smug as Asha's face blanched completely before he turned to the green dragon hybrid. "Don't worry Eucreaz. You did not know, nor did I tell you. I will admit that after waiting for so long to kill these wretched humans one does get caught up in the task. Plus they all look the same, infested weak liars that hide behind their guns and mass horde. But not anymore".
Asha spluttered, gazing at all four dragon hybrids with immense fear, not believing what they were saying, almost thinking it was impossible on what they're implying.
"Y-You mean that... all the humans in the whole world are... dead?" she whispered. Seto's grin grew.
"Why yes. All of them are dead... all of them but you".
"A-Are you going to k-kill m-me now?" she squeaked out. The king of dragon hybrids snickered.
"Certainly. But not now and not here. You are going to be killed in front of the main dragon hybrid clan... now shouldn't you feel honoured by that little girl?"
Asha could not reply, words caught in her throat as fear for this hybrid, fear for all the dragon hybrids shut down her judgement. The four before her must of known for they all laughed coldly at her.
"They are indeed weak, aren't they?" the silver one queried, smirking devishly at her.
"Why yes. I am definitely looking forward to the execution" the red one added, his forked tongue trailing out to wet his lips in excitement. Asha did her best to avoid looking at the three new dragon hybrid's penises, which were now all erect at the thought of her death. She knew without even looking Seto's, who was still wearing the leather pants, was quite large.
"Now let us go. No point in letting us stray in this hellhole any longer. I was never one to linger in a burning city when there was nothing left to burn" Seto stated, earning another cold laugh from his fellow dragon hybrids as he stooped down and seized Asha firmly by her arms, pressing them against her waist, pinning them essentially before he unfurled his wings, stretching them to their massive wing span before shooting up into the air, the three other hybrids following him.
As they rose into the sky more dragon hybrids and pure dragons joined them and the number rose beyond the thousands. Some gave her nasty looks when she gazed at them for too long. Everywhere she looked she was not met with a single friendly face. And why not? She was the last of her kind and once she was gone, they would be rid of the humans forever.
Asha could do nothing but look at the ground below her as she was taken away with the dragon hybrids, the city of Domino nothing more than smoultering ash left in the distance behind her. Just an empty, burning city where a race that lived on ruling others was overcome themselves and were now the prisoners of their own actions. Their punishment was death...
...and soon it would be Asha's turn.
* * *
* * *

* * *
* * *
* * *
* * *

* * *
