People see the world as a wonderful place.
So bright and cheerful; and so full of grace.
They see laughter and music and fun and games.
They see hopes and futures; and they ignore the flames.
The flames that burn the forgotten, the lonely and the lost.
People ignore the screams and the cries and never think of the cost.
The People are blind and the Lost can see.
That the world has a Shadow and that Shadow is me.

The world is not bright; its not cheerful or grand.
The flames burn away all the hope in the land.
And the darkness will follow, for that is its way.
It will find all the Lost who have wandered astray.
The Forgotten and Lonely will follow behind.
They will abandon the hopeful, the cheerful and blind.
For the world has a Shadow that no one can see.
No one, that is, except for me.
