She Who Solved the Puzzle
Chapter 11: I Don't Want to Come Back…
Place: Palace front door steps.
Time: When they just discovered Liz half dead.
'I never thought I would see the pharaoh like this.' Bakura thought as he was holding the sobbing Andrea and both of them witnessing the pharaoh of Egypt cry so much at once. 'It seems to me that this is his first time crying…ever…' he thought.
Andrea's legs couldn't hold herself up anymore and slide to the floor taking Bakura with her. "Bakura? Yami? Whats wrong with her!?" Andrea yelled as she quickly got up from the floor and took Bakura's hand to follow her. The both went to Liz's side with Yami cradling her in his arms.
"Liz…wake up…wake up!" Yami said to her as he shook her gently as his tears were falling on her cheek. "Yami, lets get her inside. I'll grab the pieces and you pick her up and put her in the healing room." Bakura said as he and Andrea gathered the pieces, but Yami wouldn't move.
"Pharaoh…did you just listen to what I said? Pick her up and put her on a bed in you healing room!" by yelling at him, Yami was out of his trance.
"I did this to her." Yami said non-chalant. "If it wasn't for me…doing what I did, she wouldn't have left my side and avoided this…this…" he choked back a sob…"Liz. I'm so sorry." He held her tighter to his chest and rocked back and forth on the floor sniffling.
"SNAP OUT OF IT YOU PITIFUL PHARAOH!" Bakura yelled at him. Yami snapped his head to face him showing him his tear-stricken puffy red eyes of grief.
"Listen to me! We can probably still save her!" When Bakura said that, Andrea's head perked up at him. Bakura picked up the charm that was hanging around his neck. "Since this charm saved Andrea, maybe we can use it to-"
"It won't work." Yami cut Bakura off. He shook his head. "Liz said the charms only worked once. When you look at them now, their glowing light, its even duller than it was before meaning it has no more energy." Yami looked at Liz's face noticing she had a face that she was betrayed and hurt.
"Well then that's it then. She's dead." Bakura said bluntly as a lone tear fell from his eye.
"She's not dead! She's not supposed to die! She's my sister that was supposed to have a future with me." Andrea got up from the floor and ran over to them and looked down at Liz smiling. "See? We were supposed to live together as roommates. Buy all of the anime stuff we could buy and watch them together…and…have boyfriends and get married, though I tell her that she has to wear a dress at her wedding, but she keeps telling that she would wear jeans or slacks and would get hitched over in Vegas!" Andrea grabbed Liz's shoulders and gently shook her. "We had everything planned! So you see! She's not supposed to…die…" she started to sob again and gently let go of her shoulders and were on her neck and moved them near her chin. "Liz…you're supposed to live damn you! LIVE!" She finally let go of herself and Liz and went to an uncontrollable sob. "Live…" she kept on saying over and over and tipped to the ground till Bakura took her into his arms.
"Yami…get her inside." Bakura said to Yami. Yami didn't hear him, so he just brought his hand to caress her cheek. "I'm so sorry, Liz. Just come back…come back…come back to me…please?" His hand slowly went down to her neck and soon felt a small little pounding. He perked his head up and had a smile as if something…or someone had come back to him.
"Bakura! Andrea! She's alive!" Yami said to them with excitement.
"What are you talking about Yami? You're becoming delirious…" Bakura tried to make Yami understand the predicament.
"No! She is alive! She has a pulse!" Yami put two fingers on the spot where he felt it before. "She's still alive!" He stood up, taking Liz into his arms and rushed inside the palace to the healer's room.
"Did he just say that she was-" Andrea took control of her sobs and looked to Bakura was cut off.
"Alive! Yes! Lets get going!" Bakura took her hand and rushed in following the ecstatic pharaoh, both of them taking the pieces into their hands.
Yami just gave a push to the doors and ran quickly in and set her on the closest bed. "Mai! Come quickly! Someone needs medical attention!" The Yami took Liz's hand.
"Hmmmm…this little flower again. She's always in trouble." A young, long blonde haired with purple eyes, woman came in wearing similar clothing to Yami, only less jewelry.
"Yes. I remember her. She's the young girl who got that whipping punishment a few days ago. My assistant told me about her." She said as she smirked.
"Whipping punishment?" Bakura and Andrea ask.
"I'll tell you later. Right now, we have to get Liz to open her eyes and breathe!" Yami yelled.
"But how can a someone, let alone her still be alive if she isn't breathing? Where did you find her?" Mai asked.
"We found her unconscious and the puzzle on her chest was shattered." Yami replied.
"And I still don't know how it got there!" Andrea asked as both Bakura and Yami shrugged. "And since its in pieces now, she's unconscious! Tell me what's going on!" Andrea demanded.
Yami let go of Liz's hand and looked to Andrea. "I need to… talk to you about that."
"Great. As you guys talk outside, I need to do some examinations to her." Mai said as she pushed them away from Liz and out of the room.
"What sort of examinations?" Bakura asked.
"Since you found her unconscious, she could've been violated. I'm betting that she didn't want to shatter the puzzle, and put herself vulnerable. If I'm right, she's only half dead since she's." She replied bluntly. Yami's eyes widened in horror as Andrea gasped.
"Very well. We'll be back." Bakura answered for them and they left the room leaving the healer and her patient.
"Just seeing his majesty's eyes, I really hope nothing happened to you, Kid." Mai started to undress Liz carefully taking the white dress that was covered in crimson thick liquid that belonged to Andrea at the lower part of the dress and placed a long blanket over her body just below the now crevice of pieces that were still held together in her chest. "How the hell am I going to get you to wake up." She picked up the dress. "You're not bleeding, so no injuries and I know this blood isn't yours. I'll do all I can to bring you back." She then started to get to work.
Outside of the healing room…………………………& #8230;………………………… ;…………………………R 30;………………………… 8230;…………………….
Bakura was the last to leave the chamber and closed the doors. Yami held his head low that his lightning bolt bangs were covering his eyes. Andrea put her hand on her mouth and her other hand on her hip. She then put her hands to her sides and looked at Yami. Yami getting the feeling that someone was staring at him, picked up his head to look into the eyes of a young woman not wanting to know the blunt truth.
Yami explained to Bakura and Andrea of where they landed when the first arrived to this old time in Egypt. That he landed in his own palace and that Liz landed in the desert only to find that the Millennium Puzzle was inserted into her chest now being apart of her body. How she stayed up a whole night wandering the desert to find Yami and everyone else. Liz being whipped as a punishment and suffering from the pain. Andrea was on the verge of crying, but held in the tears as she talked.
"So, cause of the puzzle, she's like this." She started to fiddle the pieces in her hand. She gave them to Yami and so did Bakura giving him the pieces that he held.
"The puzzle is like a life force for her then." Bakura said closing his eyes.
"What do you mean?" Yami asked with Andrea looking at him with question.
"Look at the obvious Pharaoh. She's unconscious while the puzzle is broken and she's been in that state for a while now if she was only knocked on her head. Think straight will you, Yami?" Bakura crossed his arms.
"We'll have to put the pieces together back in her chest so she can be conscious." Yami half smiled. "Since the puzzle is not complete, she is in this state. Hopefully it will work backwards."
"Do you mean she'll be ok?" Andrea asked with hope.
"Lets just hope." Yami said walking up on the chamber doors of the healing room but paused and put his head down.
"But that still doesn't explain why she even has the puzzle in her chest…" Andrea asked. Bakura just took her hand and looked the other way when she tried to look into his eyes.
"Do you want me to tell her, Yami?" Bakura offered. "Tell me what? What's with you guys?" Andrea looked at the two of the quizzically.
"I have to tell her. This happened to her because of me so I'll tell her." Yami turned around from where he faced the doors and looked at Andrea in the eyes.
"It all started back before I was sealed into the puzzle. I was battling my high priest, who betrayed me by trying to absorb the power of the puzzle, but somehow it backfired and I was sealed in, but then I remembered this was a prophecy. So that the chosen was to come back in time with me to stop this event from happening again by performing a ritual…" Yami started to fade of his speech when a tear trickled down his cheek.
"Ok, song and dance and you're done. What's so bad about that?" Andrea asked. "It is ritual like that…right?" Bakura wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"It's a sacrificial ceremony…" Yami said as he clenched his fists.
"You're going to kill her?!" Andrea burst. "But you cant! You cant do this to her, Yami! What about all the things you've been through?! Doesn't that matter to you!?"
"Of course that matters! Don't you dare think I'm going to kill her off just like that! I wont use her like that!" Yami countered. "There might be other methods of sealing away the Shadow Realm such as killing the man before he commits this act. Right now I don't know where he is, but we will find him so we can avoid the use of Liz at all cost! You have my word Andrea." He said in a serious but gentle tone.
"No wonder she can solve the puzzle. She was the chosen one of the prophecy. I'm sorry Yami for saying stuff like that." She apologized.
"Its alright. No harm done." He put up his hand and waved it off.
"Its just that I'll be losing more than my best friend. I'll be losing my younger sister." She sighed. "I know what you mean except it was a different feeling, remember?" Bakura said as he squeezed her hand a little tighter as they all remembered the tragic event that happened earlier.
'You could have lost a friend today, Andrea. But I would've lost something more… This event just showed me what I could have lost or lose forever if I don't bring her back…' Yami thought.
There was a knocking on the door and Yami backed away from it and its slowly opened.
"You guys can come in now. She's clean of all trace of what I didn't want to see, if you know what I mean." Mai smiled to them and motioned them to come in.
Andrea zoomed past by them and took a seat on a chair that was near Liz. Andrea quickly noticed the crevice on her chest of the pieces that were still held together. Bakura went to stand by her and Yami slowly walked up to the end of the bed. He was glad nothing happened to her while she was in this state, but what hurt him the most was the facial expression she had. Mai went to the back of the room to heal another patient.
Liz had her eyes closed but her face was covered in trails of tears stains. Her smile that Yami was used to seeing was the most depressing frown he's ever seen on her face. He walked to the opposite side Andrea and Bakura were at and took a chair and sat on it. Liz's hands were above the sheets so that Mai can check her pulse more accurately than her neck.
Yami looked down at his hands to see the millennium pieces. 'Please let this work backwards.' He thought with hope. He stood up and started to work on the puzzle to put it back together to fill up the crevice of her chest.
The sounds of clicks were in the air as the room was in silence. Bakura took another chair and sat down next to Andrea as they both watched Yami working on the puzzle.
\This feels like its taking forever…\
\\I know, but you have to be patient for Liz's sake. The puzzle is hard to solve, even for Yami. These are the treasures of Amen-Re remember?\\
\Yeah, I guess. I hope she wakes up soon.\
\\So do I, Love.\\ Andrea put her head on his shoulder.
'This piece goes here. *CLICK*. Yes! And this piece goes…argh! Doesn't fit. Here? No…here…no…HERE?!? *CLICK*…finally…' Yami was putting the pieces in together. Once in while he would pause to see her face for a moment to get motivated to keep going. 'I will bring her back and I will apologize to her…and tell her how I feel…this just brought a…how did she say it…a wake up call of my feelings…but how am I going to tell her…' he thought and subconsciously fitting more pieces of the puzzle at the same time. 'Wondrous things still amaze me, but that leads me to something…
(Yami's thoughts in first person)
Why do I love her? She's not like Andrea, or the other girls at her school. I observe them and even the young women that act even more male than she does. What is it that she intrigues me more of her? I must admit, there are beautiful girls out there that I sometimes wish that the chosen one were someone else. After all, I never heard a woman curse so much in my entire life! She's lazy, stubborn, crazy at school, ( I mean it! You should see what she does! She is nuts!) She talks back constantly, she plays videogames way too much, , she's weird at times, sarcastic and if she was in a lesbian relationship I bet she would be the man of the whole thing! She doesn't like all the things that regular girls like. Sure there are some like her but there's the other girls and then there's HER. But I know, deep down inside, she has secrets. Sometimes she wants to wear dresses that hugs her curves, wear just a little bit of make-up, have a boyfriend and be all mushy lovey dovey with him and for some reason… I want to be that boyfriend.
I would get jealous if she goes out with other young men her age. I didn't know why and she never found out either…not to my knowledge anyway. But those traits I thought of earlier are just some of the things I love about her. Call me crazy, but I like it when she's stubborn, talks back, lazy (though she has her moments I mean.) being crazy. That's just a part of who she is. She still has her emotions; she's sensitive, full of heart, kind, and sweet, (she does have her moments.) she's friendly but it's hard for her to trust people. I can feel it in her heart… I love her because she's herself in front of me. I know the REAL Liz. She doesn't have to disguise herself from me. Hell, I look at her every morning when she gets up from her bed and DAMN her hair is a mess and she is definitely not a morning person, I can tell myself that much. I'm basically around her every nano second. (I learned that in her Advanced Physical Science class at her school) I laugh silently to myself as I put the puzzle back together that's on her chest. I never noticed that her upper body is so tanned and has such a smooth appearance. Makes me want to…NO NO NO! Don't think like that! *Clears throat* I'm almost done with this…just two more pieces…JUST TWO MORE! Please Liz…just come back to us. Come back to me I… I…want you come back *CLICK* Just one more piece and that's the main piece…
(End of Yami's Thoughts: POV)
'Just one more piece and that's the main piece…the Eye of Ra…'Yami thought with a smile. He looked down at his lap to see the last piece only that he never had it. "Bakura do you have anymore pieces on you?" Yami asked.
"No. How about you Andrea?" He turned to her. "No. There weren't anymore on the floor where she was. We picked up all of them…why…" She asked.
"Are you absolutely sure!?" Yami panicked. "Yes we're sure. Yami, what's wrong?" Bakura asked him. Yami had a blank face of horror. "We're missing a piece."
"What did you just say?" Andrea looked up at him from her seat. "I said we're missing a piece…and without it we can't finish the puzzle and bring her back…" Yami had no expression in his voice.
"But that was all the pieces that were near her!" Bakura yelled.
"I know! I know! But there is one missing and that has the Eye of Ra design on the front. We have to search for it." Yami walked to the end of the doors. "We're not the only ones who know about Liz's role in this prophecy; even my advisors know about her as well. So we cant tell them, otherwise when we do bring her back, they'll put her on that giant Ankh and kill her."
"I guess we're the only ones looking for it then." Said Andrea. She and Bakura stood up from their seats and head out the door. "We'll look for them Yami. You already know about the ability of the ring, so just leave this to the two of us. You stay here and keep an eye on Liz since Mai seems to have her hands full with the others that are sick in this room." Bakura said.
"Eh? What ability does the ring have?" Asked Andrea.
"It can find the Millennium Items when within close range. Even though its only one piece, we should be able to find it. That one piece is calling to the others since the rest have been brought together." Bakura responded.
"Oh." she turned to Yami. "We'll find that piece, Yami if it's the last thing we do." Andrea stated. Bakura nodded to Yami and left out the door. Yami sat down on his chair and took Liz's hand into his, entwining his fingers with hers, slightly feeling her pulse on her wrist with his.
"I shouldn't have hit you. I had thoughts, put into action of protecting you, and this is what I do to you. I have no excuse for what I did. I just hope when you wake up you'll be able to forgive me…" Yami put his head on her bed on the comfy white, silk sheet that was covering her near her arm and closed his eyes.

Yami was walking around in a hallway that he hasn't seen for a while. "Haven't been here for a while. Wonder if my soul room is still in tact." He walked on the hall to see his door with Egyptian designs on the door, especially with the Eye of Ra on it. He turned around to see another door, but it wasn't Liz's soul door that he would usually see when he comes the soul hallway. It was a steel dungeon door with bolts to keep it closed surrounding the doorway. Its thick sheets of metal were to remain unharmed and never meant to be open.
"This is must be what's keeping me from talking to her right now." Yami said to himself. He put his hands on one side of it and tried to pull it open with force, but with no luck, he could not open the steel door. He started pounding on it. "Open up! Liz, if you're there, open up! Its me, Yami!" A tear started to trickle down his cheek as he admitted defeat. "With her unconscious no wonder I can't talk to her." He slid down to the floor.
"Don't bring me back." A clear voice was coming from the other side of the strong door.
"Liz!?" Yami got on his knees and put his ear on the door. "Liz! You're Ok! Thank the Gods! Open the door. Are you ok?" Yami asked her frantically.
"You dare ask me that after what you did to me, I can't believe you! Don't you remember Yami? I hate you!" The young woman's voice yelled. "I hate you for putting me here! I hate what you did to me back there! For blaming me! You said I killed her but I didn't! I hate you for not telling me that I was to be some sacrifice to one of your gods! For keeping a secret from me! And you still ask me if I was ok? Just... just…just leave me alone to die!" She shouted.
"Liz! No! I'm sorry for what I did! I wish I can take it back, but I can't. I'll do anything for you to come back! ANYTHING!" Yami yelled at the door but there was no answer. "Liz, just answer me…Liz…" Yami slid down to the floor and tapped on the door.
"Please forgive me. I didn't mean it!" he pounded on the steel gray door. "Andrea is alive! She's alive and well because of you and the charm you bought."
"Oh… you mean the charm that you called junk! That piece of junk I gave you that at first started out as our friendship charm? That's like telling me that our friendship was a whole sham! Yeah right Yami. People don't come back from the dead! Do you think I'm stupid or something? How dare you lie to me, and using Andrea as the lie! You bastard!" She sobbed as more tears came down her eyes.
Liz was crouched near the door. Her eyes were red, swollen, and tearstained. "I'm not going back, Yami! You already know why! Andrea's dead, Bakura probably is in the worst depression and hates me, you blamed her death on me, AND you fucking slapped me! YOU HURT ME YAMI! BIG TIME!" Liz yelled through the other side of the door. What put Yami in shock later of what she said next.
"You were only using my friendship with you, just so you can come back here and kill me for you damned god, didn't you?" she said with sobs but yet, to Yami, her voice sounded so hurt yet with hatred and anger.
"I can't believe you would say something like that. Don't you say that! Our friendship is real as real can be!"
"BULLSHIT!" she screamed it out. "First you didn't tell me the truth and then you go and lie to me about it. I trusted you and look where I am! You slap me and you just fucking forget about it! All you guys are like that! You just don't care!" She took her hand and slammed it to the door. She looked down at her wrist and stared at her dark soul room. "You wanna sacrifice me, Yami…fine…I'll do it for you!" out of nowhere in her soul room, a knife appeared in her other hand and she slashed her wrist. Crimson liquid was rapidly coming out of her body and leaking through the crack of the steel door on the bottom where it met the floor. "This must be easier now. You wanted to see my blood? You got it!" She started cutting herself on her other wrist and her arms and legs, not feeling any pain at all.
Yami widened his eyes after she said her last statement and stared off to the door. He started to feel sticky while sitting on the floor. When he looked down he saw a pool of red liquid with the smell of blood.
"What do you think you're doing!? Don't hurt yourself, please! The injuries will show on your physical body and you will be in intense pain! I don't want to sacrifice you for anything or anyone! Don't do this to yourself! I don't want you to do this. Not me, not Andrea, and Bakura!!" he pounded on the door three times.
"I said don't you lie to me that she's alive! She's dead, damn it dead!" The dagger in her hand disappeared and she hugged her knees close to her chest. "Now that Andrea's dead, you hating me, and Bakura in depression, why should I go on living since no one cares about me?! I'll stay here forever!
"No you won't! Don't you ever tell me how I feel, when you have no idea. I care too much about you to let you do that to yourself. Just please, stop hurting yourself and hang on for me." Tears we coming down one by one from his eyes. "Stop telling yourself these lies. WE have the closest friendship than anyone can ever understand, and you know it. You know I will always be there for you. You have to believe me. There is no excuse for what I did to you. Just let me make it up to you…please…" he put his head on the door and he shivered because it felt cold to him. He closed his eyes.
"I can't…I cant bring myself to do that Yami." She whispered but he heard her.
"Yes you can. Just find it in your heart to do this, Liz. My heart hurts when you're not with me." he exhaled slowly.
"How does the heart fit into all of this?" she responded.
"What?" Yami was in shock.
"Don't be so surprised by my statement, Yami. The heart is just an organ that pumps blood to keep you alive. " She chuckled to herself. "And I don't even have that. I have the STUPID puzzle. Don't make me laugh Yami."
"Don't act like this. The heart can represent anything that is positive, such as happiness, caring, and love." He said.
"No such thing. I see it in everyday life that when a relationship is started, one of them always hurt the other one. If that's love, I never want to know it or be a part of it. I myself have been hurt too many times in this lifetime."
"Not all relationships are like that. Some are the truest of lovers than anyone has ever seen. Its so rare in human lives. But I can show you love if you give me the chance." He blushed and then realized what he said.
"What do you mean by that? How can you SHOW me? If slapping me is one of the ways, I don't even want to hear it. Don't you dare fuck with me like that." She started to pick her head up from and stretched out her legs.
"I'm being serious. Its just that…" 'I have to tell her, now or never.' He thought. "I love you, Liz. I loved you since I've met you. Sure we've gone through bad times and didn't exactly meet eye to eye, but something about you, wont keep me away from you." he sighed. "Come back to us…come back to me…"
"You don't love me…" she whispered.
"Yes I do! With all of my heart!" he tried to pry the door open again from his first attempt.
"No one does. Just, leave me alone Yami… you're hurting me more. Even if you are lying, I've always wanted to hear you say those words from you." she looked at her
"Liz…are you saying that…" Yami drifted.
"I love you too… but that doesn't mean I'm coming back, you liar." after that she went silent and cut off the link. On her side of the door she covered her face and started to cry. She laid herself on the dark floor as her blood is still coming out of her soul representing that her heart has been hurt by so much in her time. 'No wonder I don't feel pain.' She thought to herself. She curled up in a ball in her own blood and started saying to herself. 'I'm sorry, I just can't bring myself to come back."
"Liz! Liz! Don't shut me out! Don't shut me out!" Yami continually pounding the door. "I love you so much. Please don't leave me, Liz. Please…" his soul started to fade from the soul hallway.
********************************************************O utofSoulRooms****************************************************
Yami picked his head from the bed that Liz was laying on unconscious. His first sense that he could smell blood and he immediately opened his eyes. He was in horror of the sight of her. "No no no!" He saw Liz with the blanket covering her having large red, moist spots on her once white blanket, even noticing she cut her legs and a new gash on her stomach. Her arms that were above the sheets of white were red and had a slash or two on her arms. "She's very vulnerable right now, and I can't do a damn thing about it till I get that last piece!" Yami said to himself.
Mai came in from a different room and stepped in the check on them. As she approached the bed she noticed the terrifying sight. "By Ra, Your Highness. We gotta get this girl some bandages and quick!" she turned tail till Yami spoke. "Don't bother." He said.
"What are you talking about, Yami? Are you going to let her bleed to death?" she yelled at him. "These are just normal wounds, Mai. These are the wounds from her soul. If we don't heal her soul, she wont recover from those injuries." He said offhand. "And why are you so calm about this?" she started to get annoyed.
"Because, this is my fault that I did this to her, but I know how to heal her as well." He turned his eyes to look at her. "I really hope you know what you're doing, Highness." Mai said.
"So do I, Mai. So do I" 'You better hurry, Bakura. You as well Andrea.' Yami thought as he stroked Liz's hair, despite the blood from her wrist on his hand. 'I will get you back to this world whether you like it or not. You belong with me, Liz. You forever belong with me; we're meant for each other…' Yami thought.
Meanwhile…outside of the palace………………………… ;…………………………R 30;………………………… 8230;………………………… ………………...
"Where should we start looking?" Asked Andrea.
"We don't have to check the front the palace otherwise something would've reacted with our rings. We'll search for the piece in the whole town." Bakura said.
"The whole town!?" she shrieked.
"Yes the whole town! And if its not in the town, I'm afraid we have to find it in the-"
"Fucking desert!" She whined.
"Good. Now you're catching on, my little sweetie." Bakura patted her back.
"Awwwww monkey crap!"
"Well, lets start searching." Bakura took her hand and they started walking heading for the town.
"Aye Aye, Sir!" Andrea lazily saluted him.
They went through every aisle of both the town and the merchant district. Going down booths and being uncomfortably close to people, and leaning over ANYTHING that can carry that one special, golden little piece that holds a life on the line.
(Andrea's POV)
Oh yeah… this is the way to go. Leaning over people you never even met and fake smiling so they don't get the wrong impression and glaring at the stupid men who take my 'smiling' to the next level…dirty dirty bastards that are in this timeline. Well whattaya know…this could have something… I thought to myself as I saw a hooded figure. I leaned over his merchandise and I got a little close to him to see if he had the piece that I need on him.
Fuck. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Ewwwww…. that perverted bastard just tried to smile a sexy smile at me… that's it I'm outta this booth shit.
'Ok…I'm on this side of the aisle and Bakura is on the other side doing his checks. Oh hell naw! That chick just did not look at my man when she passed by him… If I see her do it again, I'm gonna kick her sorry ass…nah I'm just playing…like I ever do that… maybe if she knew that I was going out with him but hit on him anyway, then I would definitely fuck her up. Yes. Definitely would. Oh yeah…' I nodded.
……………………& #8230;…….a lot of moments later………………………… …………………………̷ 0;………………………… 230;………………………….
More and more booths I pass and ugly guys trying to hit on me , later…still nothing. Bakura and me just practically checked the whole town and we came up with zilch. Sonova bitch… we're practically in the damn alley now. And Bakura is…oh no… Oh my 'Whatever divine being he worships…' no… he is not doing that…. Better go and try to stop him I guess. Sometimes that boy can be hella nasty…' I sighed.
(End of Andrea's POV)
"Bakura…don't search in there…please!" Andrea begged him.
"I have to. What will happen if its actually in it?" he pushed the subject as he was climbing on a runned down wooden cart of…
"Shit! Bakura it's a big pile of shit!" Andrea yelled at him. "Do you see the ring reacting? NO! Now get down here before you actually fall in!"
"I guess you're right. Something would've happened by now." He slowly got down the wooden cart and away from the…big pile of shit…
"We've checked the whole town. Now we have to get to the big ass waste land." She sat down on the ground Indian-style. "It could be anywhere and I don't know if we can find it." A lone tear started to trickle down her cheek.
"Andy. Don't say that. KEEP saying that, and Liz will never wake up. Now act like the sexy bitch you are and lets keep looking." He kissed her head and started to walk off to the exit of the kingdom belonging to the Pharaoh.
In the desert near the boarder of the town…………………………& #8230;………………………… ;…………………………R 30;………………………… 8230;………
"I'm looking, and looking and still nada! Mother fucker!" Bakura cursed as he was trudging through sand and searching for the last missing piece.
"Damn, boy…and you tell me to watch my mouth." Andrea rolled her eyes and kept walking. "Well sorry…I'm getting a little frustrated. We have this whole fucking area to search for that damned piece." He complained.
"Yeah I know, I know. Just keep looking." They continued to walk till the started to become farther apart without realizing it.
Just when Bakura was about to take a break, he was sitting down till one of the golden cones that hung around his ring started to glow and lift up a little. He felt the power and looked down at his ring and noticed what was happening. "Holy shit! Andrea!" He yelled for her but couldn't find her anywhere. "Andrea! I have a trace!" he looked around till he saw her from far away.
"What did you say?" she yelled back to him.
Bakura was irritated that she couldn't hear him. He made hand movements pointing to his ring and in the sand. "I have a damn trace you stupid deaf bitch!" he yelled to her.
"You fucking albino boy. Call me that again and I'll restrict sex from you!" she threatened as she jogged a distance to catch up to him.
\\Damn…I'm sorry…\\ He huffed and crossed his arms.
Andrea arrived and laughed. "Good boy." She patted his head as he smirked. "Now, lets start looking." She crawled on the floor till her ring reacted as well. Bakura was still standing and lowering his eyes……..(O_o)
'Gotta snap out of it. Check her out later…' he grinned…'I'm so lucky to have a girl like that.' He then got to his knees and dug his hands into the sand. "The piece has to be around here somewhere," he said to himself. His ring started to react more when he headed to the same direction he was going. "Yes yes…come on…" He whispered to himself.
The ring was now having all of its golden cones shining and pointing down at one certain spot and he was right on top of it. "Hell yes! Andrea! I think I found it!"
"Gosh damn it Kura! I'm right here! you don't have to yell!" He then finally noticed that Andrea was right in front of him. "Shit my bad. Anyway, I think I found the piece. Start digging here!" they started to dig and moving a whole bunch of sand out of the way with both their rings reacting stronger and stronger knowing that they were getting close.
Soon minutes turned to hours and still digging when nightfall came. "This is taking forever but I'm not giving up!" Andrea said as she continued to dig. "Neither am I." Bakura said as he kept on digging himself.
As Andrea clamping her hands into more sand to push it away she felt something of metal…
'Please let this be it…' she took in the sand that had the mysterious object in both of her hands to move the sand and slowly searched for the little object with two fingers. 'Please!' she willed. When she picked it up it had a shiny glare in her eyes but squinted to see some sort of gold eye design.
"Bakura…please tell me that this is the piece that we're looking for…" she almost hesitated to ask him, because she didn't want to be told that it wasn't the right thing that they were looking for.
Bakura stopped looking to see the object in her hands. He smiled to her. "That's my girl!" he got up and took her hand to help her up, which she accepted. "This is really it!?", he nodded to her, " Yes! Now lets get the fuck outta here. It got cold…" Bakura took held her by the shoulders and giving her a kiss on her forehead. "Sure thing." Andrea held the piece close to her chest as if never departing with it till that one piece does its job to bring Liz back.
……………………& #8230;..Moments later, they arrived at the palace………………………… ;…………………………R 30;………………………… 8230;…………...
"Yami! We're back!" Andrea yelled behind the front doors of the huge palace. Jou opened up the doors for them. "Hey Jou…how is she?" Bakura asked him…
"Not to bad and not to good. She's still the same but I haven't seen her till I snuck a peek with Anzu since this whole thing started. I'm gonna go check on her to see how's she doing." He they said goodbye to each other. "Thanks Jou!" Andrea yelled to him, and she saw him nod at a distance.
"Lets go the room!" Andrea said and they both dashed to the healer's room where their friend was being…neither alive nor dead.
They arrived to the doors of it and Andrea knocked on it incase they were disturbing something. It was Yami who was opening the door slowly and saw that it was them but still left a crack open.
"Hey Yami…we've found the piece! Now let us in!" Andrea was about to just go right in till she took a careful look on Yami's face.
"Yami, What's wrong?" Andrea asked him.
"Its Liz." He said.
"Oh my Gosh! Did anything happen to her?" she questioned.
"Just be prepared for what you're about to see…" he said as he opened the door for them to come in.
"Just how prepared, Pharaoh?" Bakura asked.
"You'll see." He said as he lead them to the bed where Liz was laying on.
"What the hell happened to her!?" Andrea yelled as she tossed the piece in sight till Bakura saw it in the air and caught it in a panic and let out a sigh. He also looked at Liz which he lowered his eyebrows and was saddened to see one of his friends like this. Yami sat back down at his chair and took Liz's hand into his.
"I took a trip to our soul hallway and I found some sort of steel, dungeon type door that was over her soul room's door. It turned out that we could talk but she is very depressed at this moment. I tried to talk to her but she just won't come to her senses. Even if we put that last piece in, I don't think she'll come back." He never took her eyes off of her as he looked over her face and her injuries on her arms.
"Did she hurt herself in her soul room?" Bakura asked.
"Yes she did." Yami said as he nodded.
"How? Its her soul room, and how is she still depressed?" she demanded to know.
"Andrea, don't forget that Liz still thinks that you're dead, and she thinks that Bakura will hate her because you're dead, that we took to long to get you to a healer, and because of…my incident with her…" he clenched his fist, deeply regretting what he had done.
She gasped. "Oh shit…that's right… Bakura told me that she ran away before I came back to life again…" she looked at Liz, seeing her depressed facial expression. She went up to her and stroked her hair. "We're getting you back, whether you want to or not." She whispered to her. Seeing the blood all over the blanket and the slashes on Liz's arms were just hurting Andrea. "I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed me. You were always there for me, but you always hold you spiffs to yourself. " She smiled. 'I know you'll come back.'
"Lets do this already." Bakura grunted and handed Yami the last piece that had the Eye of Ra design on it.
"Right." Yami nodded and sat up in his chair. He inserted the piece in the middle of the puzzle, filling the empty void. The puzzle glowed the dimmed.
"Finished." Yami said as he stood up looking down at her. Andrea and Bakura perked up and looked at Liz. They could see her moving her eyebrows and her eyes closing tight.
Her upper body jerked up and she was choking for air. She didn't have control of her body to breathe. Yami quickly took her shoulders and pressed them down to the bed as Bakura held her legs and Andrea held the blanket down to keep Liz covered.
"Liz! Calm the fuck down! Its us!" Andrea yelled to her as she now held her wrists down to keep them from hitting her and Yami.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Liz screamed. "I don't want to come back! NOOOOOOO! Let go of me, please!!!" she started to sob uncontrollably.
"Snap out of it Liz! Its us, Bakura and Andrea!" Bakura tried to tell the uncontrollable form.
Liz just kept on screaming and moving her body violently. "I'm not coming back! LEAVE ME ALONE!" She screeched.
"Liz, listen to me!" Yami was having trouble of keep Liz pinned to the bed. "You're with us! With me! Nothing is going to hurt you! Calm down, please and open your eyes! It's me! Yami!" Liz started to calm down and taking in deep breathes. Bakura let go of her legs as he felt that she stopped moving as well did Andrea. Yami went closer to her face. She opened her eyes and turned only to him, tuning out Bakura and Andrea. "I'm not coming back. Leave me alone. Nothing…is here …for me …" Yami widened his eyes and took her shoulders. "Liz, no, no, no, stay with me! Stay awake." Liz didn't listen to him and shut her eyes and soon she stopped breathing again.
"Liz…wake up…" Andrea pleaded and took her hand. "I'm alive…I'm alive. Don't you feel my touch." No response. "Wake up damn you!" she started to cry. Bakura went over to the sobbing Andrea and she cried into him. "She'll come back. Don't worry." He tried to comfort her.
"She still hasn't come back." Yami said. He didn't have anymore tears to shed as he held his head down. He knew there was only one thing to do and that was to get her himself. He slowly heard a dungeon door sound rising. 'The door has opened. Now to go see her.' He thought. He took a deep breath.
"Listen, I'll get her back. You guys did this much for her and I have to do a lot of making up to do. " They nodded. "I'm going to go see her in her soul room and get her back. I swear my life on it. Just incase you see anything to the both of us, don't wake us up. Leave her body alone, ignore the new blood that comes out. We'll do something when I- WE come back."
"Alright" Bakura said as Andrea nodded.
"See you guys later." Yami cracked a smile to them and put his head down on the bed, sitting on his chair, still holding Liz's hand entwining their fingers; 'I'm coming, Lizzy.' was his last thought then he went into the soul hallway that they shared.
