She Who Solved the Puzzle

Chapter 8: I Was Bored and Went Out!

Timeline: Two days after Liz and Yami reunited.

Morning….

Ah yes the morning. Liz woke up in a separate chamber next door to Yami's. She sat up and stretched her arms. "Soooooo bored…." She sighed. She slowly got out of bed and put on her clothes that were given to her when she had her first meeting with Yami. She put on her dress and accessories and sneaked out the door and headed for Yami's. Opening his door slightly with the few squeaks and cringing movements on her face, she tip toed in and closed the door. She kept on tip toeing everywhere till she saw a sleeping pharaoh in the bed. 'Awwwww look at the sleeping pharaoh. So peaceful.' She tilted her head. 'Hey…Damn! He got booty!' She shakes her head. 'Enough gawking…now to take his crown!' she laughed to herself mentally. She crept over to a little nightstand that was near him and paused to look at the nice gold headband that had the millennium eye in the center. (A/N: Member Forbidden Memories?). She stared at its brightness as the morning sunlight rays touched its golden surface. 'Pretty…' She lifted up her hands to reach for it but then…//What do you think you're doing?//

She looked toward the bed to see Yami awake with both of his eyes open. /Nothing…/ she was still in the position of taking the headband. "Doesn't look like nothing. It looks like you're doing something." He said aloud. He sat up on his bed still under the covers but revealed that he wore a wool long nightgown (A/N: For guys it's a really long shirt. You've seen those in western movies!) with decorated hieroglyphics on the collar of it. Just then Liz causally taking the headband off of his nightstand and put it on her head. Yami's face was with the look of curiosity. "I only have one thing to say…", she was moving closer to the door and Yami quickly caught on," bye!" Liz ran for the door but Yami was too quick and beat her to it and blocked her only exit. She swerved around and jumped on his bed. "Hey Yami, you got jacked!" she said as she pointing to the headband on her head. With quick movements, Yami was on the bed and Liz was about to move away but Yami pinned her the bed. "Fuck! I lost." She said laughing. "You can't beat the king of games! Now give me back my crown." He put his hands on her head and removed it then reached for the nightstand and carefully put it down. It took Yami a while for him to realize they were in an awkward position till right away Liz grabbed the collar of his shirt and brought him to lie down next to her.

The two of them were next to each other staring at the ceiling in stillness. Liz broke the silence. "Hey Yami?"

"Yes?"

"What did you mean when you said that I changed you?" she took a deep breath and prepared for his answer. "How did you know I said that?" He shifted a bit to turn to her. "I over heard one of your thoughts. I'm really sorry." She took one of his pillows and put her face in it. "Don't worry about it. It wasn't personal, so no harm done." He said as she lifted up her face to look into his eyes. "So what did you mean?"

He turned his head facing the ceiling. "Before I was sealed into the puzzle, I was pharaoh like I am now except my personality wasn't like this." Liz raised an eyebrow. "When I compare myself to the person I used to be to now, I was a really big…." Yami paused waving a hand signaling Liz to help him find the word. "Asshole?" she answered.

"Yes. I was a big asshole. Whenever someone came in with the smallest of crimes I would send them to the dungeon or if I don't even want to bother with them I would have them executed." Liz was wide eyed. " If I had to do something for the good of the people I would regret it for some reason because I didn't want to do anything for them. Of course I would do things that's good for them only that they would still obey me." Yami tuned his body facing Liz. "Ever since I met you, you've given me bran new emotions and a new outlook in life." Liz slightly blushed and hid her face in the pillow. "God damn it Yami! Stop embarrassing me!" she said into the pillow. "Yami just laughed. He got up and told Liz to wait while he went to go change, so she agreed. /Yami! Time to take off my bandages! I aint hurtin' like a little whiny bitch anymore!/ she said to him.

//All right then. I'll get the water after I come out. Its gonna hurt just like those little band aids you had in your time only that its gonna be ten times worse.// he came out wearing a red cape and gold plated necklace keeping the cape around his neck. Around his neck was his own Millennium Puzzle. He came out with a wet piece of cloth while Liz was lying on the floor with her back uncovered. Liz blushed because in this outfit he was wearing he didn't have a shirt on and so his chest was bare. (A/N: ^_^ ::drools::) and that the face was that her back was showing to him with the bandage. Liz hid her face to calm herself of the blush. 'Oh my God! He didn't see me turn red! Phew!…I'm too innocent for this kind of thing…; she sighed. "Yeah yeah I can handle it. Just take it off! It pisses me off a lot!" Yami bent to the floor and soaked the sticky bandage that was on her back. soon it was able to be lifted. He grabbed on end. "You sure you don't want to do it slowly?" he asked to make sure. "Yes I'm sure! One quick swipe and its done. On the count of three ok." Yami nodded. "Alright…One… Two…"Yami pulled on the sticky bandage in one quick movement. "Wooooooooooooooooooo doggie! That fuckin' hurt! God damn it I said three!" she said tiny muffles of 'ow' while she fixed her dress on the back so that it was covered and stood up. She began flailing her hands in the air and moving around. "Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. Yeouch!" Yami was laughing the whole time he was watching her. " I know you said three but then you would be prepared for it and it would've hurt more." He said and continued to laugh. "Ok its not funny anymore…" Liz smirked and put her hands on her hip. "Just for that…" Yami quickly stopped laughing and gulped when Liz went up to him and stood face to face with him. "What are you going to do about it? " he made a comeback to her. She put her hands on his head. "This!" she quickly swiped the crown on his head and left the room in a scurry. "Ha ha Yami! You got jacked again!" she yelled after. " Yami got up from the floor and ran after her. "LIZ! GIVE IT BACK TO ME!" He said while chasing her. "HOW ABOUT…ufff!" She was about to finish that sentence till she bumped into tall man with blond hair and a tanned body. "Whoa! You ok Liz?" he chuckled as he grabbed her shoulders while she rubbed her forehead. "Yeah, I'm ok Jou."

"So what's your hurry?" he heard a faint yell in the halls of the palace. "Liz! Give it back to me!" In a flash he saw Yami running down gaining to the position where Liz and Jounouchi were standing. "I'll tell ya later! This is my cue to leave!" she departed once again running. Yami caught up with Jounouchi and panted. "Good morning your majesty," he bowed, " what seems to be the trouble with you and the new girl?" he asked.

"She took my crown!" With that his last words to his faithful General Jounouchi, Yami took off once more.

"Damn that boy be fast!" Liz said to herself as she stopped and started to laugh. Yami soon caught up with her. "How come you're not tired?" He breathed in and started to pant a little bit. "Cause of P.E. in school. Hmmmm…guess that class didn't suck after all." She laughed. He stood up straight, and Liz used both of her hands to put his crown on his head. "There ya go 'o' Great One!" she tried to hold in her laughter. "Why did you take it in the first place? " he raised an eyebrow at her. "Cause I was bored and we haven't had fun since we got here. Sure its only been two days but eh…. I bore easily." Yami just smiled at her. "So? What are our plans today?" She asked as they began walking together down the halls. "WE aren't doing anything. I have meetings to attend to here." He sighed. "That just fuckin' blows. So what am I suppost to do till you get out of the meetings?"

"You can just stay here until I'm done. Don't worry about it. I won't take long in there." He reassured her. "I guess I can walk around the palace some more…" she shrugged. "That's my aibou. Now I'll be off, the meeting will start soon. When you get bored, you can just wait for me in my chambers. Is that ok? " He started to walk ahead of her. /Yeah. Sounds good ta me./ she walked off to the other direction. //See you soon.//

Liz was walking around the palace and looked bored as ever. "Damn I'm bored. And I feel really stupid wearing this dress! I want my pants!" she whispered loudly. "Hey Liz! Nice ta see you again on this morning." She was greeted again by General Jounouchi. "Oh. Wasabi Jou?"

"Wasabi…? I'm not gonna ask. So what are you doing today?" he asked.

"Oh…nothing. Being bored. What about you?" Jounouchi smiled. "Wanna go to the market with me to see the new inventory. I have to do an inspection on our economy anyway."

Liz smiled then nodded. (A/N: Imagine Cartman's voice from South Park on the first word.) "Sweet. Sure I'll come." Jounouchi started to walk but then was startled but some weight on his back due to the fact that Liz wanted a small piggyback ride. "Onward mighty steed! To the market place! Whoot!" she yelled and laughed. Jounouchi supported her for a while. 'Damn. She is not like other girls from around here. She is so damn aggressive though from what the pharaoh tells me. I wonder how he can handle being with her. Sounds like they knew each other for years but its only been two days that she's been here. I wonder what the pharaoh sees in her? She kinda acts like my little sister but way too masculine.' He laughed to himself and he kept walking just up to the doors of the palace. " I'm not carrying you anymore. To long of a way!" he playfully complained.

"Party pooper…" they laughed and set off to the town.

Moments later they arrived to the town…

"The town sure looks different if your not the one being dragged to the palace by the dumbass guards. My neck still hurts just thinkin' about that hellhole incident." She rubbed her neck. "I see you're still ticked off about that? Well what's past is past. Now you can do a little shopping in this area while I do the usual economic inventory." He looked to her. "Ok. I'll be here." Liz responded so then Jounouchi left.

Soon Liz was walking seeing all kinds of merchants selling their inventory. From clothes to beautiful jewelry, to plants to exotic animals. 'Damn. They almost have everything.' She was walking around the area to where Jounouchi said she could till he comes back. "Bored already." She takes something from her back. "Good ol'e Jou wont mind if I borrow some of his…currency…heh heh heh. I love me." She sighs happily of pick-pocketing Jou so she quickly goes to the booth that sells jewelry.

Liz looks at all the different jewelry that the man of the booth offered. "So purdy! Gold! Ack! I want them all!" she sighs. "Must not be to greedy." She said to herself. While she was about to leave, something glared with the sun to her eyes. She turned her head to see a small pyramid that had two loops with chains for each. "Excuse me? Sir" she grabbed the two pyramids and they were split in halves. "What's the point of this? The pyramid is split in two and its so friggin' small."

The man that was at the booth got up from his chair. In the sunlight it showed that he wore a full-length cloak to cover himself with. He took the charms from her hands. "This my dear is a charm. For two lovers to never be separated. One would have one piece and the other would have the other piece. When in doubt of the most absolute of separation put the two pieces together and they will give you a second chance." He put the charms back into her hands and placed his hands on top of hers. "But be warned, the chance can only work for one of you and only once. Use this chance wisely." He took his hands away from hers. "Are for realz? Damn. " She looked down at the charm and started to walk away with it. "Pardon me ma'am." Liz turned to him. "Yes? Is there something else to this thing?"

"If you want the charms, that will be fifty silver pieces." He stuck out his hands waiting for the currency to be in his hand. "What the fuck?" She raised an eyebrow. "What you mean fifty silver pieces?" She came back to the booth. "This thing is magic if you say so why sell it?"

"Hey! A merchant has to make a living you know! I got a wife and three kids to feed!" He got into a hissy fit. "Psh fine. Get me all worked up and shit." She mumbled digging through Jou's money back and she looked inside. ' Wow. When they say pieces they mean pieces.' She started to count the fifty silver pieces then handed it to them. "This better be real magic if not I'mma come back and open a can of whoop ass on you!" she said to him. He raised an eyebrow to her. "If you're a woman, the why do you act like a man?" Liz heard this and walked off. "I'm a god damn girl! What is it with people callin' me a guy! I don't have a dick alright!" she yelled to the merchant. Someone behind her tapped her shoulder. "You better be a girl, otherwise I said to all my friends that a guy here is pretty." He patted her on her head and she turned around. "Don't flatter me. I aint pretty." She shrugged. "Well ready to go back to the palace?" he asked her.

"Eh sure. Oh here's your purse back." she handed him his moneybag and started to walk back. "Its not a purse! It's a money pouch!" he yelled to her.

"Whatever. Last one to the palace is a girl who brings a purse named General Jounouchi!" she started to run. "Hey that's me! Wait wait! I do not carry a purse! It is a pouch!" he chased after her.

Inside the palace, Yami was having a meeting with his advisors……………………&he llip;….

Yami was sitting up straight at his chair with a straight face pretending to listen about his kingdom. 'This is so boring! Are they almost done talking? In the future, normal nineteen year olds just go to school, drive, sports, movies, eat pizza…boy do I miss pizza, listen to music, clubbing…Ra! I miss the future…but no…I have to sit here and listen to my advisors…' Yami thought as he sat through his boring meeting.

"…and that's why we must remove these peasants somewhere else in the kingdom." The advisor stood up. "Now Pharaoh onto more interesting matters." Yami perked up his eyes to him. "It seems that the chosen one has shown herself." The advisor said. "And that means to me how, Seto?" he asked his most trusted advisor. He had purple robes, brown hair and blue eyes. "Seems that Hieshin's prophecy is coming true. That we have to sacrifice the chosen one to receive the powers of Ra himself."

"We will do no such thing!" Yami pounded his fist to the table. " There must be another way to go about this!" he paused. "How did you know that she was here?" Yami asked.

"The healer told us that he saw a little gold pyramid embedded into her chest. That is a sign enough that she is the chosen one to give to our god Amen-Ra." Seto responded as he sat back down into his chair. "Why don't you want to sacrifice this girl, your majesty?" Seto asked him.

"She is a dear friend of mine. That is reason enough. Now find another way to do this without sacrificing anyone." He stood up. "I will take my leave now. You are all dismissed." He left the room.

Seto made a double take on what happened. 'The pharaoh has changed greatly. Just three days ago he wouldn't of cared who the sacrifice was. Then two days ago we find him in foreign clothes and he's a different man. Something happened, and its just not a bump on the head of slipping near the fountain.' He took his leave from the room.

//I don't not believe this! This is just absurd!// he thought.

/Whoa! What crawled up your ass?/

Yami's face cringed. //Nothing. Don't worry about it. Just the meeting made me angry.// he walked to his chambers to find Liz on his bed. "What about?"

"As I said its nothing." He told her.

"If you say so. So ready to give me the whole tour of your place or what?" she got up from his bed and went up to him. "Sure. Come this way." He smiled to her and gestured her to follow him. "Whoot! I'm goin' on a tour, but damn I forgot my camera! What happens if I see King Kong!? Drat!" she said sarcastically. 'Ahhh Universal Studios…I miss that park. That was so much fun, though I also liked, what was that park…mountain…six flags…oh yes six flags magic mountain. That was so cool…there I go sounding someone from the future…' Yami shook his head with a smile.

After a few hours later Liz and Yami have seen all the halls, areas, rooms, furniture, walls, and wings. "Dang Yami. Love the crib you got here. Damn compared to my house this is…damn this place is huge!" Liz was amazed. They were about to head back to Yami's chambers till they past a hallway that they did not visit yet.

"Hey Yami?"

"Yes? What is it?" They stopped walking and turned to her.

"What's down that hall?" she turned to look at what was down the hall. "Don't worry about it." He shrugged it off. "Are you sure? What's down there really?" she continued to ask him.

He turned to her sharply that you could hear his cape whip in the air. "Its forbidden!" he yelled at her. Liz stepped back from him and looked away from him. "Alright damn. I wont ask. " she walked ahead of him mad. Yami's face relaxed and caught up to her. "Aibou, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I had a hard day. Just don't go there, please?" he pleaded with her. "Whatever. I wont go there. Happy?" she smiled to him. "Much." They walked back to Yami's chambers to chat.

"…then remember the face you made when we were going down Riddler's Revenge over at Six Flags? Oh man that was priceless! I never heard you curse so much!" They were in Yami's chambers on his bed lying down staring at the ceiling reminiscing. "Well Lizards its time to go to bed." Liz got up and went up to the door. "Night Yami." She left. //Goodnight Liz.// Yami got dressed to go to bed and went to sleep.

Liz shut the door behind her. 'He never called me Lizards. The many nicknames he knows from Andrea.' She sighs. 'Well now to see what's down that hallway. I said I wouldn't go near it but I didn't say anything about going tonight.' She starts walking towards the hallway. 'If I get caught he's gonna get mad at my ass so bad. But just to goes and shows ya not to hide anything from me if its important! I always find out!' She arrived to the hallway. 'Now or never.' She took a deep breath and started to walk letting the air out.

As she walked down the hallway she noticed that some stone tablets that seemed familiar. "These look like those duel monsters that I see in that card game." She continued walking. "Dark Magician, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Kuriboh, damn this is to creepy…" she said aloud. She continued to walk till she arrived to a black door. "This must be it." She put her hand on the handle and pulled the door towards her. She poked her head inside only to see pure darkness. "Damn…anybody home? No lights? Too cheap to buy electricity huh?" she chuckled to herself. She went inside and the chamber door closed after her. "Maybe this was a bad idea." She said with anxiety in her voice.

She continued to walk inside till she encountered a little fur ball. "Eek!" Liz jumped in fear but got her composure. "Its…a Kuriboh." The Kuriboh went up to her and rubbed against her shoulder. "Well aren't we cuddly? Hmmm?" she started to scratch its head. She turned around but the door wasn't there anymore. "Oh shit. Not good." She sighed. "Hey little guy. Can you lead me to the way out?" The Kuriboh floated back up and nodded. "Thanks little dude." The Kuriboh started to move and Liz followed after.

Moments later……………………&helli p;………………………& hellip;……………………&hel lip;.

"Aren't we there yet? Feels like we walked for like a mile. When I first got in I only took a few steps!" she complained. The Kuriboh just rolled its eyes but still kept moving.

SOON CAME A ROARING SOUND! The sound of a dragon. Liz turned around behind her and searched her surroundings. "What the fuck was that?" She turned to the Kuriboh but only saw darkness. "The little traitor left me! Damn it!" she cursed. Soon she grabbed for her chest and struggled to breath. "What the hell?" she started to take deep breaths. The word darkness echoed in her mind. "Dark…ness? Is this how it really feels? Ahhh…" she felt a jolt of pain.

AGAIN CAME THE ROARING SOUND OF THE DRAGON! Liz, of course, was freaking out. "No…way…" A sky shiny color of blue creature came flying roaring once more. "The Blue Eyes White…Dragon…this is unreal." She fell on her knees feeling the pain getting stronger. "YAAAAAHHHHHHH!" she got up with a struggle and ran as far away as she can from the dangerous dragon. Soon came the Winged Dragon Guardian of the Fortress coming in close with the Blue Eyes White Dragon. The dragons were about to ready for their attack. They're heads were pulling back to ready they're attack. Liz felt a force pushing her down and fell forwards. "SHIT!" she cursed. She turned to see the dragons seeing the power readied.

/This is it. I'm done for. I should've listened to Yami. Guess curiosity killed the cat./

//Almost. And yes, you should've listened to me.// Liz jerked her head up.

"DRAGON CAPTURE JAR, ACTIVATE!" She heard a familiar voice yell from behind her. Soon she witnessed the blue dragon get transported into a jar with the carvings of a dragon. She turned around only to be met with a yellow dragon with the pharaoh himself riding on him. "The Curse of Dragon! Yami!" she coughed and collapsed to the ground.

"Lizzy!" Yami yelled to her. "Don't worry about it. I suffer pain but I don't pass out." She reassured him. He turned to see that the Winged Dragon had fired towards her. Yami had to think fast. "Dark Magician! Use your power to shield her!" Soon by his side a man in purple armor with a green staff and a purple cloak around his waist came to Yami's side. The Dark Magician came up to Liz and put up his staff and blocked the fireball that came towards her.

"Now Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack!" Yami yelled to him. The Dark Magician raised his hand and sent out waves of magic and soon the darker blue dragon was destroyed. "Thanks Yami…" she took a deep breath. The dragon he was riding on descended to the ground and got off. He walked to her glaring at her. 'I was safer with the dragons…' she thought. Yami didn't say anything to her and bended down to her face. Then when she wasn't expecting it, Yami smacked her upside the head.

"Ow…Well I guess I deserved that." Liz said as she rubbed the back of her head.

"I thought I told you not to come in here, you go against my wishes! The slap on the head was from that TV show 'Fresh Prince of Bell Air'! Whenever Will did something stupid his Uncle Phil smacked him upside the head just like I did you." He shook his head. Liz grabbed her chest again of another jolt of pain and struggled to breath. "Lets get you out of here before you get consumed into the Shadow Realm." He offered his hand to her. "So that's what this place is called. I thought is was the place that had no lights." Yami rolled his eyes. Liz took his hand and tried to get up but her legs weren't responding. "Yami, I cant feel my legs!" she said to him.

"I guess you're not used to the darkness's power yet. That's what causing you to lose the feeling of your legs. I'm surprised you haven't passed out yet." Yami said to her as he picked her up and held her in his arms. "I don't pass out. I wanna know all the crap that happens to me so I try to stay awake." She blushed but hid it from him. "Ready to go back?" he looked at her.

"Yeah." She sighed. They climbed on the Curse of Dragon and flew into the air. Liz saw the chamber door that she came through. "There's that bloody door!" she said. "Yami? How did you know where I was?"

"A little Kuriboh told me through my mind and I had a feeling through our link. But since I'm a player of the Shadow Games, I'm used to the dark power so I wasn't sure the darkness you felt through our link was real or not. And before you ask, yes I know what the monsters say." Yami looked straight ahead not looking at her. "Oh, you answered all of my questions then." She blinked and felt uncomfortable that Yami was actually mad at her and that they were this close as he felt this way. The dragon descended in front of the door and Yami took Liz into his arms again and thanked the dragon and the Dark Magician for their help. After they exchanged goodbyes, Yami opened the door with one hand and went inside back in the palace halls.

As they walked down the halls they started to talk. //Why did you go against my wishes?// Liz looked up to him, then hid her face in his chest. Yami suppressed a blush. /I wanted to know what you were hiding from me. You told me everything, but this. I mean all you did tell me was that I shouldn't go in there. No reason at all. So I had to find out why. I dunno. I just wanted to know. I'm sorry./ she told him her reason.

//I guess I haven't been honest with you either. I should've told you what was down there. So I'm sorry too.//

/Are you still mad at me?/

//Not anymore. I guess I cant blame you. I would've done it too if I were you.// he smiled.

/I'm glad. So where am I going?/

//To your room.// Liz shook in his arms. //What's the matter? Are you cold?//

/No. I'm just shaken' up about what happened back there. Cant I stay with you tonight?/ she looked up to him. //Might as well. I have to see if all the dark energy leaves your body anyway.//

/Ok./

Soon they went into Yami's chambers and he laid Liz down on his bed. He left to go change into his nightclothes, crawled into bed with her and he laid on one side and her on the other. He covered himself and her with the blanket of the bed. //The energy should be gone by morning. So by the time you wake up it should be gone.//

/I see. That's good ta know. Oh yeah I was gonna give you something./ she dug into her pocket to give him the charm she bought earlier. /Here./

//Its half a pyramid. What's it for?// he looked at her with curiosity.

/I bought it when I went to town with Jou. And ::cough:: with his money too but that's beside the point. Anyway the guy said that it was… a friendship charm…yea that's it. You keep on half and I keep the other. We put them together if we really get the feeling that we would be apart. Or some shit like that./ she showed him her halve that she had around her neck. /Now me and you have little reminder's of each other!/ she smiled.

//Thank you. I'll treasure it always.// He smiled back to her. //Well good night Lizards!//

/You're not hanging out with me anymore if you keep calling me that. Wait till we get home! Anyway good night./ she closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

'Go home? Will I go home with her? I am home. Here in Egypt. Will I be with her when this task is accomplished? …I don't know…' Yami had a worried look on his face. ' How will she feel if I don't go back with her? I'll have to think about this later. I'm getting way too tired for this.' He shut his eyes and went into a dreamless sleep.
