Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Silent Good-Bye ❯ Silent Good-Bye ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Title: Silent Good-Bye
Author: Vapid B.
Warnings: Mentions of boy/boy
Summary: Some people just are not meant to be together. That doesn't mean they do not want to.
Maybe if Joey wasn't a hot-tempered street punk and Kaiba wasn't a cold-hearted CEO the situation would have worked out.
Kaiba had a reputation to keep. He owned his own business and had to keep an image. He had a little brother and could not show him the wrong examples if he were to make it in the business world. It just could not work out.
Joey hand a reputation to keep also. He was a tough kid, an ex-gang member. He could not be known as some weak little queer. Besides, them being together would have been weird. They were enemies. Joey called Kaiba names such as 'Bastard' and 'Money-bags.' Kaiba called him 'Mutt' and ' Second-rate duelist.' His friends would not understand it.
Kaiba knew all of this and so did Joey. It still hurt, though, to wake up alone in a cold bed. The only trace of the person you gave your body to is a small note lying on the bedside table. Kaiba silently clutched it to his chest, knowing it was Joey's good-bye he never had to say.
They both remembered that single night. It was hard to forget. A cold, empty feeling came over Kaiba every time he thought about it. A hazy, lost look could be seen in Joey's eyes whenever he laid eyes on the CEO.
Maybe if Joey wasn't a hot-tempered street punk and Kaiba wasn't a cold-hearted CEO their situation would have worked out. The hope in Kaiba's eyes would have made Joey re-think his silent good-bye.
