Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Silent Night... Holy Night... ❯ Christmas Time is Dawning... ( Chapter 1 )
Hey guys, I just thought I would write a cutesy little Christmas time fic, obviously since it's near Christmas! Yay! So…… here it is and I hope you enjoy it. More chapters to come. Disclaimer: I'm sick of writing these. Get it through your skulls that I would be a multi BILLIONAIRE if I owned Yu-gi-Oh. I am simply a teenage schoolgirl with an obsessive "thing" for anime and such. Enjoy and R&R. Thanks.
Christmas time is dawning…

Anzu sighed to herself as she touched the glass on the window, staring at the snowflakes falling to the ground below. It was fogged up with heat from inside her lounge in her apartment. She was decorating her Christmas tree, awaiting Yami's arrival. Anzu and Yami had chosen a six foot high pine tree this year to sit in their apartment's corner. It did look beautiful, but they needed more decorations for it. That's what Yami was doing at the moment - buying more sparkling ribbons, dangling spheres, tinsel and spray-on snow. Anzu had already put the presents she had bought under the tree. Although she hadn't gone shopping for many people yet; she still had to get Ryou's, Malik's, Marik's, Bakura's, Seto's and Serenity's presents.
Anzu was startled out of her dreamy daze of preparing the tree as Yami stumbled through the door with shopping bags full to the brim with Christmas decorations.
"Anzu! The shopping mall is chocker down there at the moment! I could hardly find a place in the queue to pay for all this." Yami said, placing the bags on the carpeted living room floor by Anzu's side.
Anzu let out a giggle. "Thank you, Yami. We did need more decorations though. Look how bare our tree looks at the moment!"
Yami stifled a laugh at the naked Christmas tree. It only had a few bunches of holly and some worn-gold bells dangling from it. "Well you're going to like what I bought to put on the top of the tree then." Yami said, digging around inside one of the bags.
"Surprise me then." Anzu said smiling up at her beloved spirit.
Yami grinned and pulled out a beautiful angel dressed in white satin with flowing blonde hair and an angelic pale face with rose cheeks. Anzu gasped. Angels were one of her favourite things to collect - she had many angel dolls and she had drawn many pictures of them.
"Yami, it's… it's…" she said, getting up onto her feet.
"Beautiful, isn't she?" Yami completed her sentence.
"Oh Yami… I love you…" Anzu whispered and kissed Yami softly on the lips. She took the angel and stood on top of a stool and placed it on the top of the Christmas tree.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door; Yami went to answer it.
"Hello, hikari." He said with a smile. "Come on in."
Yugi hugged his yami. He hadn't visited in a while because the game shop had been so busy over the holiday period. "How are you, Yami?" he asked as he came in.
"I'm good, and yourself?"
"I'm great, pretty busy though."
"Hey Yugi! Would you like to help decorate our Christmas tree? Yami just went out and bought some beautiful new decorations!"
"We'd love to!" Yugi said, without hesitation. He went and began pulling out the tinsel and other decorations to put on the tree, helping Anzu and his yami.

Meanwhile, Ryou, Malik, Bakura and Marik were out doing their Christmas shopping. They had already bought presents for everyone except each other.
"How are we going to do this then, you guys?" Malik asked; one hand in his pocket, the other one entwined in Marik's fingers.
"Well… how about you and I go off together and buy our yamis presents and they do the same for us? Then we'll join up again together and go shopping with our yamis for each other tomorrow or something." Ryou suggested to Malik.
"Sounds good to me. We'll meet back here in an hour okay?" Malik said, parting from Marik.
"An hour and not a second late." Marik said, kissing his light half before departing with the other yami.
Both dark halves watched their hikaris running off, hand in hand, giggling madly. They rolled their eyes and laughed and made their way to a department store to start searching for their light's Christmas gifts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What are you going to get Bakura, Ryou?" Malik asked the other hikari as they were walking through a Dolce & Gabana Store.
"Well, Bakura is really special to me. This will be our first Christmas together. I was thinking maybe a bathrobe and some aftershave or something sexy like that."
"Yeah, I don't know what to get Marik. I mean I just love him so much but… I don't know." Malik said, sounding somewhat puzzled as to what to get his darker half for Christmas.
"I know!" Ryou burst out, an idea suddenly popping into his head.
"You know what?"
"Well, I have an idea for what you could get Marik!"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah! What about a piece of jewellery? Bakura and I gave each other rings for our birthdays… why don't you buy him a nice ring or necklace? The only piece of jewellery he wears is a set of earrings like you do."
"Well, once we find Bakura a present then we're going to the jeweller's!" Malik shouted happily.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Finally I can buy it… I've been saving up for Ra knows how long to get him this." Bakura grumbled as he picked out a pure Egyptian white silk shirt worth about four hundred dollars from the most expensive store in the mall.
"Wow… Ryou will be over the sun and back when he gets that." Marik exclaimed.
"I know. He deserves it though. I love him with all my afterlife." Bakura said, delicately taking it off the shirt section bench and to the pay counter.
"May I help you sir?"
"Yeah I'll take this."
"A fine choice sir. That will be $399.95 there thank you."
Bakura sighed and pulled out the last folds of green cash he had in his now empty black leather wallet. Ryou was worth it, though. Every cent.
"Can I have that gift wrapped too?"
"Certainly sir."
All the while, Marik was looking around the store in search for something for his hikari. He was clueless when it came to shopping. He and Bakura would always shoplift in Ancient Egypt. Money wasn't something that either of them was very clued up on. Neither of them had to use it in their previous lives so why bother to use it now? But their hikaris had told them otherwise. The sales clerk finished wrapping Ryou's present in beautiful silver wrapping with a ribbon and put it into a bag.
"What you getting Malik?" Bakura asked as they exited the store.
Marik shrugged. "I've been thinking for what seems like dynasties. I can't really think of anything that he hasn't already got."
"How about something leather? I've never seen Malik in leather before…" Bakura suggested, his voice tinted with seductiveness.
"What are you implying, tomb robber?" Marik growled; protective of his hikari.
"Oh… nothing." Bakura said `innocently'.
Marik punched him in the arm and Bakura laughed. They continued to walk down the aisles until they came to a shop which specialized in animal skin garments and accessories. Bakura grinned evilly at Marik.
"Forget it Bakura, Malik would never wear anything kinky like you make Ryou wear."
"Who says it has to be kinky? Leather can look good without being kinky." Bakura asked as he dragged Marik into the shop. Marik just rolled his eyes and decided not to decline. Bakura always got his way, no matter what.
"Hey Marik, this would look great on Malik!" Bakura said, taking out a black leather jacket.
"Uh, try no." Marik said as he strolled past Bakura. Bakura snorted and followed.
"Now this, Malik would like…" Marik said as he pulled out a beige coloured suede jacket from a rack.
"How much?"
"It's on sale… five hundred bucks?! No way!!" Marik cried. "You call that a sale price?!"
"It's reduced from seven hundred and fifty. It must be really good quality. Plus you're rich enough! You've been saving up to get Malik something really nice." Bakura reasoned.
"Yeah I guess you're right. It's the last one left and its Malik's size. I'll take it." Marik said, snatching the jacket off its hanger and taking it to the counter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Bakura is really going to like these." Ryou said, smiling at the new gift that he just spent three hundred and fifty-five dollars getting Bakura.
"I know I'd like it if it were my present." Malik said.
"I just hope he likes the smell of this aftershave. It's Armani Mania by Giorgio Armani… Bakura always said he liked Italian products." Ryou said.
"He'll be overjoyed once he sees that bathrobe too. No doubt you'll want to see him in it too." Malik chuckled.
"How could he not like it? It's red! Red is his favourite colour!"
Malik nodded. "Let's head to the jeweller's."
Together the hikaris went up the elevator to the second storey of the mall and went to a jeweller. A thin-framed female stood behind the counter looking tremendously bored. The shop was completely empty before Ryou and Malik entered the shop. The bored looking shop clerk perked up as she saw some customers.
"How may I help, gentlemen?" she asked, leaning against the glass cases.
"Uh, I'm… looking for a ring for my boyf- uh, my friend." Malik said, correcting himself sheepishly.
"Very well, what sort of ring? One with a gem? Silver, gold?"
Malik turned to Ryou, looking confused. "Uh, gold. Gold is Marik's favourite colour." Malik said, the last part to Ryou.
"A plain gold band perhaps? This one is one of my personal favourites." The sales clerk said, unlocking a case and pulling out a gold ring with five tiny purple gems on the top of it. Malik's eyes lit up. Purple was also Marik's favourite colour.
"Oh, that's beautiful!" Malik cried. "H-how much… is it?"
"This one is six hundred."
Malik gulped; Isis had only sent him seven hundred dollars this month from Egypt. Buying that ring for Marik would mean that they wouldn't be able to eat for a while before Christmas came. He turned to Ryou, confused.
Ryou put a hand on his shoulder. "If you really love Marik, then you'll buy it. He's worth it." Ryou said quietly, trying to make sure that the shop assistant didn't hear. She did however, and shifted uncomfortably, knowing that she was about to sell a piece of jewellery to a boy who was gay.
Malik smiled. Ryou was right! He loved his yami! His yami was worth more than life itself. He could survive a couple of days without food… couldn't he?
"I'll take it!" Malik cried, startling the clerk.
She grinned nonetheless and asked what sized ring would fit the owner's finger. Malik thought about this for a minute and then clicked when he realized that Marik had the same sized fingers as he did. Duh! Marik is his other half!
Malik grinned at the little velvet covered box. He would wrap it when he got home and put it under the tree. Marik had insisted that they decorated a palm tree, but Malik got his way. Christmas was never the same without the fresh pine scent floating through the house from the Christmas tree.
Yamis and hikaris met up again after just under an hour carrying their shopping bags. They decided on getting a bite to eat - they hadn't yet had their lunch and Bakura's stomach refused to wait.
"No, no, no! You've got it all wrong! The tree was supposed to go in the living room! Not the entrance hall!" Seto shrieked, slapping a hand to his forehead.
His workers all looked shamefully embarrassed and began lugging the giant tree (I mean huge, this tree was one of those ones that you see in shopping malls, about ten feet high!) out of the foyer and into Seto's main living room.
"Where in the living room would you like us to put it, Master Kaiba?"
"The corner of course! But not too close to the fire, I don't want this tree being dehydrated and dying on us before Christmas even comes you imbeciles!" Seto said, evidently irritated.
Jou giggled from the sideline. He had seen the whole thing. Seto couldn't help but crack a smile, despite his flaming mood. He had had his workers search almost every forest in Japan for a perfect tree, had them take digital photos of the ones that they thought were good and emailed them to KaibaCorp. Seto finally decided on one that he liked; so they cut it down and delivered it by helicopter to his mansion at Domino.
"How's it all coming along?" Jou asked, standing half naked wearing only pair of black boxers with jeans overtop. [Authoress drools]
"Those idiots claim that they were told to put the tree in the foyer. The foyer's ceiling isn't even ten feet high! The living room is a much better place to put it." Seto said, running the palms of his hands over Jou's tanned expanse of rippling muscles.
Jou giggled again. "At least I can finally find a place to put all my Christmas presents. I've got about ten of `em. Including yours, dragon." Jou said.
Seto tingled. He loved it when Jou called him `dragon'. He wasn't so sure if Jou liked it when he called him `puppy', but it didn't seem to bother him anymore. Jou had been living with him for a year now. He had moved in last Christmas when Seto declared his love for him. Mokuba didn't seem to be fazed that his big brother was gay; in fact, he even enjoyed Jou's company.
Mokuba ran in and tugged at Seto's trouser leg, interrupting Jou and Seto's lip-lock. Seto sighed and looked down. "What is it you want, Mokuba?"
"Can I help decorate the tree?" he whined.
"Our professionals are doing it for us, Mokuba." Seto replied.
"Pleeeeeease?"
Seto rolled his eyes and gave in. "Alright, but only do what they say. I want this tree to look perfect, little bro."
"Thanks bro! It will be perfect! And if it's not, then I'll make sure it is!" Mokuba squealed and ran off to annoy the Christmas tree decorators.
"So, what did you plan on getting Mokuba for Christmas, dragon?" Jou asked, twining his arms around Seto's neck.
"I've already got his present Jou, but it's a surprise for everyone."
"Oh come on, tell me!"
Seto shook his head. "No way. You and your loud mouth are bound to let something slip." He chuckled and kissed the blonde teen standing bare-chested in front of him. "Now come on, go and put a shirt on. We've got to go and do the rest of our shopping." Seto said, patting Jou on the butt as he scrambled upstairs to the master bedroom.
In town at the shops…
"So who have we got to go?" Jou asked.
Seto looked down at his checklist. "Uh… Anzu and Yugi. Plus we have to buy more decorations to decorate the house with and buy all our food for the Christmas Eve party." Seto replied.
"Are we having a turkey?" Jou asked.
"Yes, and plum pudding, and custard, and dumplings, and cranberry sauce. All your favourites, puppy."
Jou jumped two feet in the air with excitement and dragged Kaiba down the street quickly. They made their way to a music store.
"I think I know what to get Anzu. She's always wanted a Christina Aguilera CD to dance to for her dancing career." Jou said as he browsed through the new releases section.
"Well, that was easy." Seto said ironically as he grabbed the CD and paid for it.
"What about Yugi?" Jou asked.
Seto snickered. "What about a lifetime supply of hairspray?"
Jou elbowed his lover in the ribs. "Don't be stupid, Seto. Let's get him… I know!" Jou screamed as he grabbed Seto's wrist and started running.
"You know what? Where are we going?!"
"The pet shop!"
