A NEW King Born Today…

Seto and Joey paled at the news. If Yugi saw the kitten before he was supposed to, he wouldn't be surprised for Christmas. Joey put on a fake smile and declared that he had to leave the table. He whispered to Seto, "Don't worry, I'll get him. Just try to keep Yug distracted."

Seto nodded as Jou disappeared into the living room. He picked up the box which Cody had made his way out of. He looked to the corner of it and noticed a small hole.

"The little runt must have chewed his way out." Jou thought out loud.

Suddenly the Christmas tree rustled. Jou looked up and saw a growling ball of fur in between a branch and the trunk of the Christmas tree. Cody had tangled himself up in tinsel and was chewing at it to get himself free. He was too high up for Jou to reach him, though.

"Easy kitty… easy…" Jou stood up on the couch and reached out for Cody. Cody hissed at him and lunged out of the tree, clawing Jou's face and falling to the ground below.

"Argh!" Jou tried to muffle his scream as he wiped the blood from his face. "Anyone would think that that cat was possessed by Anubis…" Jou muttered and went after him again. Cody made his way into the dining hall and went galloping across the floor at a thousand miles an hour behind Yugi. Seto went even paler as he saw the fluff-on-legs dart across the floor.

"What was that?" Anzu asked as she saw Cody running with all the speed that his little legs could endure.

Jou soon came running out of the living room and into the dining hall. Seto slapped a hand to his forehead and slunk down further in his chair.

"Where is he?!" Jou cried, panting. Everyone looked at him aghast.

"Where is who?" Ryou asked, looking across the room to face Jou.

Cody emerged by the stairwell that went up to the second floor. "There he is! I'll get you yet ya lil bastard!" Jou screamed and tore off across the other side of the dining room once more. The chase was on.

Cody made a dash for it up the stairs and Jou scrambled up them after him, finally catching him by grabbing a hold of his tail. Cody screeched and writhed in Jou's grasp.

"What's going on, you guys?" Yugi asked, cocking his head to one side, confused.

Everyone else turned their gaze on Seto and Jou with the same bewildered expressions on their faces. Jou decided to `let the cat out of the bag'.

"Uh… um… hehe… merry Christmas, Yugi." Jou said. He handed Yugi the kitten with the red and green silk bow around its neck. Jou rubbed the lump on the side of his neck and took a seat. Running around after Cody had exhausted him.

"Oh wow! You guys got me a kitten for Christmas?! Thanks you guys!" Yugi hugged Jou and stroked the kitten's soft fur. "What's his name?"

"We decided to call him Cody, but it's up to you to name him, Yugi." Seto said.

"Then Cody it is! He's adorable guys! Thank you so much!"

Meanwhile, Malik jittered and fiddled in his seat. He was having a hard time sitting still because of the excitement of opening presents. "LET'S GO AND OPEN THE PRESENTS!!!" He yelled.

Nobody objected to his suggestion and moved through to the living room. Malik bounced onto the couch and pulled Marik and Ryou down on either side of him. Serenity and Anzu took places of sitting on their boyfriend's laps. Seto and Jou stood by the Christmas tree with Mokuba. Yugi sat next to Yami petting his new, sleeping Christmas gift.

"Alright everyone, first off I would like to give you all our Christmas gifts from Jou, Mokuba and myself." Seto announced. He bent down and picked up the first present he saw.

"This one is for Ryou and Bakura." Seto said.

Ryou got up and took the package from him, examining it. It was a rather large, hard square parcel. They tore into the wrapping and took out the present inside. Ryou's eyes lit up as he saw what it was. "Candles! Oh Seto, Jou! Thank you! I love candles!"

The package that Seto and Jou had got for Ryou and Bakura was a pack of about sixty candles. They all smelt different, some were vanilla, some were peach, some cherry… there were lots of different scented candles in the parcel.

"Next," Jou said. "Is to my baby sis Serenity and Tristan."

Serenity rose from Tristan's lap and took the present from Jou. She went back and sat down and they unwrapped it together. Inside were two tickets to Domino's most exciting theme park and a book on motorbikes for Tristan.

"Thanks you guys! This book will be really handy." Tristan said.

"The next present is for… the Ishtars." Kaiba said. Malik scrambled up from in between Marik and Ryou and lurched over to Seto with excitement. He ripped the present out of his hands and tore the wrapping paper off at the speed of lightening. Beneath the wrapping was a giant cake of white chocolate and a video called `Traveling the Mediterranean'.

"We thought you guys might like that video because they go all over Egypt in it." Jou said.

"Thank you," Marik said. "But it probably wasn't wise getting Malik this wad of chocolate. It'll be gone by tonight."

Everyone chuckled. "Finally we've got Anzu and Yami's presents." Jou said, picking up two separate presents. Anzu got up and took them from Jou.

"A Christina Aguilera CD! You guys are the best!" Anzu cried.

Yami opened his present carefully. Inside was a little wooden statue of a camel with a pyramid behind it, wrapped in bubble-wrapping. "Why did you get me this?" Yami asked.

"We thought it would remind you of Egypt, Yami. It's quite the prized piece of art." Seto spoke.

"Thank you, Kaiba."

Mokuba tugged at Seto's trouser leg. "What about my present, Seto? Didn't you get me anything this year?" His grey eyes welled up with tears. Seto petted his raven hair and smiled.

"Of course I got you something, Mokuba." Mokuba smiled up at him. "Everyone, I would like to make a final announcement. Mokuba's present is a present for all of us to enjoy. Don Juan, bring Mokuba's present out now!"

Don Juan nodded and disappeared, quickly returning with the gift. A clicking sound was heard on the floor and in ran a huge fluffy white Samoyed (1). He had a red ribbon around his neck and his white fur was spotless. Everybody's eyes widened and they cheered.

Mokuba ran up to his Christmas gift and hugged the fluffy white dog. The Samoyed had sky blue eyes and a brown nose and licked and tackled Mokuba to the ground, a frenzy of giggles escaping Mokuba. Seto laughed a little at his brother wrestling with the family's new pet on the floor.

"Well I'll be darned, dragon. I never knew you had a soft spot for dogs."

"Well what can I say? You are my puppy, Puppy." Seto chuckled and patted Jou on the head and kissed him. "It's just that that I don't like." He added, pointing to Cody who was now asleep in Yugi's lap.

Everybody started chatting into a deep conversation and exchanged their gifts. Mokuba put on a jacket, scarf, gloves and woolly hat and played with his new found friend in the snow outside.

Ryou and Malik exchanged `hikari gifts'. Ryou received a recipe book for Egyptian cooking from Malik. Malik received a new pair of earrings from Ryou with little purple gems to match Marik's ring. They both sat and hugged each other while their yamis exchanged gifts.

Bakura looked down at the `gift' that Marik had given him. He cocked an eyebrow and looked back up at Marik who was chuckling. "You are one sick minded immortal, Ishtar." Bakura scolded. The gift that Marik had given him was called a `Willy on a leash' and was a little collar with a chain and a leash attached to it. You could only guess what, and who it was for.

"Lighten up, Bakura. It will look good on Ryou. I thought you said you liked anything leather?"

"It would look better on your Rod, Ishtar." Bakura replied in a wicked grin.

Marik glowered at him and took his present from Bakura out of Bakura's lap. He opened it and it was a spell book. There was a marker in one of the pages. Marik looked up at Bakura.

"Go on, Ishtar. Go to the marked page." Bakura taunted.

Marik narrowed his eyes and opened the marked page. On the page was a spell called `How to make someone extensively aroused'. Marik once again creased his brow and glared at Bakura.

Bakura looked over at his shoulder at Yami and Anzu who were looking at his wooden camel statuette. He looked back at Marik and said, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Marik looked at the Pharaoh and then back at Bakura and grinned evilly. "Let's do it." they both rose up from their seats with the spell book and went to the next room - the study. They laid it out on the floor and performed the ritual, snickering at what the result might be.

"Where did Marik and Bakura go?" Ryou asked.

Malik shrugged. Suddenly they heard a growl elicit from the other side of the room. They looked over their shoulders and noticed that the one growling was Yami. In the background, Bakura and Marik were trying to suppress their giggling fit.
