Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Slowly Sinking And No One To Save Me ❯ Chance ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Mistress: Here we are at chapter two! ^__^ I was going to wait longer to put this up because I'm a horrible procrastinator and I was worried that if I put this up I'll get lazy and not update…if that makes ANY sense at all. About the flame thing I was reading the reviews to this one story (I don't remember which one) and the author was flamed because it sounded too much like another story or the content of it.
I have received a flame before and I wish not to repeat that. It was for…uhm…Reunion I think…and Dried Tears…not so sure anymore, I think it was taken off or I took it off can't remember.

Ryou Bakura 21/3/05(1)
Being old enough to drive and the only one to have a legal license Ryou drove them to the Kame Game Shop. The ride was in complete silence both in thought. The albino driving was busy contemplating why Yugi had called and what was so important for him to tell them. He prayed it wasn't anything too serious like he had cancer or was dying.
Ryou decided not to dwell on those thoughts and concentrated on driving. Even though he had driven this way many times he noticed small things that seemed different. The flowers seemed to have multiplied and the trees seemed much greener. Maybe it was a good omen for things to come after all Summer Break was just around the corner.
Before he had realized it Ryou had gotten out of the car and was standing in front of the door to Yugi's. He stood frozen for a moment before brushing it off. He raised his pale hand and knocked on the door. Ryou, lost in his thoughts again, jumped when he felt a hand tap his shoulder.
“You okay?” Bakura asked as Ryou turned to him.
“Just peachy,” Ryou replied once again forcing a smile on his face.
Before Bakura could comment the door opened to reveal Yami, King of Games, Pharaoh of Egypt, and Bakura's Rival. The two Yami's glared at each other, one could almost see the sparks flying in the air. Trying to stop a brewing argument Ryou coughed to get their attention.
“Uhm…Yugi invited us because he had something important to tell us,” Ryou reminded the other yami.
The tri-color yami moved aside and allowed Ryou and Bakura passage inside. Yami led the way into the small kitchen where Joey, Mai, Serenity, Tea, Marik, Malik, Tristan, and surprisingly Seto were already seated.
The two albinos located themselves in the corner where they could hear but not be too close to the others. A few minutes later Yugi walked downstairs pulling at his blue sweater.
“Uhm…well you must be wondering why I called you here,” Yugi said a bit shyly but with a firm voice.
“So what do you need to tell us?” Serenity inquired.
Ryou watched as Yugi took a deep breath. The small light seemed troubled by whatever it was.
“Guys…I'm gay,” he announced.
Silence filled the room for a long time. Yugi seemed close to break down.
Although tears were not visible Ryou knew Yugi felt like crying.
“Is that it?” Joey asked his friend.
Yugi nodded his head slightly and Joey burst out laughing. Many faces stared at him in confusion.
“Man Yug! You had me worried I thought you had cancer or somethin'!” the blond exclaimed grinning.
Yugi looked confused for a moment.
“You mean you're not disgusted or anything?” Yugi asked his voice shaking just a little.
“Why would I be? I see nothing wrong with it,” Joey said confusing himself.
“Don't worry about it Yugi, it won't change the way we think about you,” Mai assured him.
Serenity and Tristan quickly agreed. Seto also added his two cents saying he didn't exactly care what Yugi's preference was. Malik and Marik took it lightly as well. His eyes quickly traveled to me and I smiled my reassurance. The only one who had not spoken was Tea. All of the occupants turned to her. She mumbled something under her breath.
“Excuse me?” Malik said as he stared at the brunette.
“You're sick,” Tea said looking up and straight at Yugi.(2)
“Wh- What do you mean?” Yugi asked shrinking under Tea's disgusted cold gaze.
“You are SICK! A freak! How long has it been this way! I can't believe I was ever friends with someone like YOU!” Tea spoke icily while standing up from her seat.
Tears had now found a path down Yugi's pale cheeks. Out of all the people both albinos expected Tea to stand by Yugi the most. With all her friendship speeches and all that she owed to Yugi.
“I can't even look at you your so disgusting. I feel sorry for Yami he has to live with you, well he can always move to my house,” Tea said looking at Yami.
Her face was priceless. It went from shock to anger to confusion in mere seconds.
“Get out,” Yami said in a cold low voice.
“Yami-poo?” Tea questioned using the idiotic pet name for him.
“I said get out bitch,” Yami spoke again hugging his now hysterically sobbing aibou.
“I don't understand! You're taking his side! I'm your girlfriend!” Tea screeched in disbelief.
“Too bad cause I've decided to break up with you and just as of a few minutes ago but as of weeks,” Yami said icily not raising his voice.
Tea stood frozen on the spot. The moment she regained her sense she stormed towards the door, but before anyone could react rushed over to Yugi, turned him around, and slapped him across the face. Again before we could react she was out of the room. The slap still echoed through the room. The occupants of the room watched as the action slowly sunk into Yugi. Fresh tears rolled down his face as he buried his face in Yami's shirt.
A tedious silence filled the room that Yami's string voice interrupted.
“Yugi doesn't feel like talking right now…he'll call all of you later okay,” Yami said most likely relaying Yugi's message which he had received through their mind link.
Silently everyone in the room walked out the door, each muttering minimal words of comfort to the boy. Soon all but Ryou and Bakura were left. Ryou gave his words of comfort and wisdom and left the room. He stopped outside the door and moved to the side expecting his Yami to behind him. He noticed him standing next to Yugi.
“In case you're thinking you're weak you're not. Hell, my hikari would've ran crying into his room and not come out for days,” Bakura said.
At first Ryou was surprised, Bakura complementing someone. Then a wave of sorrow crashed through him and he watched as Yami and Yugi silently agreed. He wasn't strong, he never had been. Ryou had no talent, nothing to offer. Yugi was strong, smart, and pure…innocent. Malik was strong, clever, confident, and a great fighter. Ryou…he was a drag along. Quickly covering up his expression with a worried look for his friend he watched as his Yami came closer to him.
As the pair walked towards the car Ryou posed a question he already knew the answer to, “Do you think Yugi will be okay?”
“Yes I do…” Bakura's response left room for another comment which Ryou mentally added in for him, Unlike some other hikari who would've been destroyed.
The ride home was as silent as the ride there and for some reason everything around Ryou seemed to loose color. He brushed it off as himself being tired for no apparent reason. The two entered their apartment, or Ryou's apartment, and headed their separate ways. Bakura went to heat up his meal and Ryou went upstairs to finish his homework.
That night as Ryou was lying in bed he listened. The closed his eyes and listened to the breeze and noticed it was playing a song and to the soft chirps that added to the chorus. He heard the rustle of grass and Bakura's even breathing in the next room, or maybe it was his own? He thought back to Yugi. Such a strong person in body and in soul. He knew that the Yami's had been giving Yugi basic self defense lessons. It hadn't effected him before but somehow it hurt him now to think about it and he couldn't place why. He thought about Yugi's reaction and all his friends. The albino pushed himself up from his bed and went over to his precious black Journal. It had been his mothers before her passing and now it was his. Opening a fresh page he titled his poem, “Chance.”
AUTHORS BLAH BLAH
Yeah Yeah I know what you're thinking. T_T I suck at writing Ryou angst. Oh and I read a review telling me had I even read my own work and yes I have. In fact a couple of days ago I was reading some things I had written in 6th grade. Cringe, twitch, die. Yes it was that bad.
(1) Again another poem written for this story I called it Chance ^__^ Are you seeing a pattern yet?
(2) I've never really liked Tea so I've made her one of the antagonists, after this she doesn't play any major roll in the story but I included her for drama sake.
