Anzu stood at the corner of 8th street. The snow was up to her ankles, and more was falling. The wind blew sightly around her, causing a tornado of snow to engulf her. Anzu shivered when the snow fell to the ground, her cheeks were a light brush of red from the cold winter night air. She was waiting for him, waiting for Yami Yuugi to come. She hauled up the arm of her sweater to look at her watch. It read 11:45 PM. Anzu sighed and leaned on the light pole. 'Why am I out here?' She wondered. 'He isn't going to come. . . if he does what will I say?'

Anzu's watch beeped, telling her it was twelve o'clock. Anzu's body was numb, she couldn't feel any part of her body at all. She shuttered when another breeze of wind hit her, and more snow blew in her face. 'I'm going to freeze out here. . .' Anzu shook her head, knocking some snow down her back. She froze, the chill of the snow on her skin nearly killed her. "Ah. . ." she said weakly as she hauled out the back of her sweater to allow the snow to fall to the ground.
"Hey Anzu." it was Jounouchi. "What are you doin' out here dis late? And in dis weather?" Anzu looked at him. "What are you doing out here?" Jono sweat dropped. "Dat ain't none of your business right now Anzu." "That works two ways." Anzu retorted. Jono sweat dropped in defeat.
"You look cold." Jono said changing the subject. "Here, take my jacket." Jono took of his winter jacket. "No thanks Jono." Anzu said. "I'm doing just fine." "No you ain't." Jono said rapping his jacket around Anzu's shoulders. "You keep dis on, k?" "Oh ok." Anzu said. "Thanks." "'Eh no problem Anzu. See ya later." Jono ran down the street and disappeared out of sight.
Jono's coat came down well over Anzu's knees, so she decided to sit down. She found a spot on the side walk that wasn't full of snow, she sat on it. A chill ran up he back as she met the cold cement. "Ah that's s-so cold." she gasped. Anzu rapped Jono's jacket tighter around her, the smell of the coat overwhelmed her. The smell of the spices in Jono's cologne was sweet and strong, Anzu loved that smell.
Anzu was lost in her thoughts, she never noticed the tall figure that stood over her. 'What is she doing out here? She must be froze!' Yuugi said to himself. Yuugi put his hand on Anzu's shoulder. Anzu tensed up. She slowly got to her feet. 'My god!' She almost had a heart attack when the hand grew tighter around her shoulder. Anzu was afraid to turn around, she didn't want to see who was behind her.
"Anzu." Yuugi said softly. Anzu's eyes widened, she turned to face Yuugi. "Y-Yuugi." she stammered. "You scared me for a minute." "Sorry." he said. "What are you doing out here anyway Anzu?" "Um. . ." Anzu looked at Yuugi then looked away. "Thinking." "Uh-huh." Yuugi said not convinced. "I see Jono payed a visit." "Oh. . . yeah." Anzu took a glimpse at Jono's jacket. "Tell me the reason you are really here Anzu." Yuugi said.
Anzu fumbled with the drawstrings that were attached to Jono's hood. "Um. . . I. . ." Anzu looked up at Yuugi. "I was just here thinking. . . that's all." "In the middle of the night?" Yuugi asked. "You can do better than that Anzu." Anzu sighed. She couldn't tell him the real reason why she was there. If she did what would he say? 'I can't tell him. . . I won't tell him.' "Well." Yuugi said. "I'm sticking to that." Anzu said.
"Ok." Yuugi said. Anzu shivered. Yuugi put his hands on her shoulders. Then one of them on her cheek. "My god Anzu." he said hauling her close. "Your frozen! How long have you been out here?" "Um." Anzu thought for a minute. "About two hours." "What?!" Yuugi looked down at Anzu. "Your coming with me. My house is closer." "There's no need Yuugi." Anzu said with another shiver. "Oh yes there is." Yuugi said leading Anzu down the street. His arm was around her shoulder, Anzu was overwhelmed with joy. 'He cares. . .'

"Here we are." Yuugi said walking in through the door. The heat of the house hit Anzu like a bullet. She sighed in relief. "Its warm in here." she said taking off Jono's jacket. "Warmer than it is out there." Yuugi said fiddling with the thermostat. "Come on in the livingroom. Its always warmer in there." "Ok." Anzu said following Yuugi in the livingroom.
Anzu sat on the couch, Yuugi sat on the other end. "Now." he said turning to Anzu. "Is it better in here? Or would you rather be out in the cold?" "What do you think?" Anzu retorted. "Ok." Yuugi said. "Get your boots on." "Hey not funny!" Anzu said throwing a pillow at him. "Yes it is." Yuugi said lying back on the pillow. Anzu stuck her middle finger up at him. "Fingers don't hurt." Yuugi said. "Wanna bet?" Anzu jabbed her finger in Yuugi's ribs. "Except if you use 'em like that." Yuugi said rubbing where I poked him.
"Sorry." Anzu said with a smirk. "No your not." Yuugi retorted. "I know." Anzu said throwing another pillow at Yuugi. He lay back on that one too. "Thanks." he said. "Ha, ha." Anzu said.
Anzu looked around Yu(u)gi's livingroom. Yuugi's eyes met at Anzu. 'What was she really doing out there?' he wondered. 'What was so important that she had to stay at that corner for two hours?!' Anzu looked at Yuugi. Yuugi quickly blinked and shook his head. "What?" Anzu asked. "Um. . ." Yuugi looked around the living room, then his eyes landed on a painting of a fruit basket. "Are you hungry?" "Um." Anzu looked at Yuugi. "Yeah a bit." "Ok I'll be right back." Yuugi got up and rushed to the kitchen.
//Ok Yugi.// Yuugi said to himself. //What do I do now?//
/I dunno./ Yugi's voice echoed. /Your out there, not me./
//But I need your help!// Yuugi tapped his fingers on the table.
/Ok, ok./ Yugi said with a sigh. /She's hungry right./
//Duh.//
/Anzu loves fruit./ Yugi said.
//That's it?!//
/Eh. . . yeah. Just get any kind of fruit./ Yugi said. /Or if you would rather be back in here. . ./
//No! God no! I spent thousands of years in that thing! I'm not going back in because I don't agree to feed someone fruit!// Yuugi stopped and winced. //Where's the fruit?//
/Where it always is./ Yugi said. Yuugi could tell he was enjoying this.
//Ok. . . wise guy.// Yuugi said.
Yuugi cut himself off from Yugi altogether. He grabbed a bowl of grapes and went back into the livingroom. "This is all I could find." Yuugi said handing the bowl to Anzu. "Thanks Yuugi." Anzu said smiling.
/See. . ./ Yugi said. /What did I tell ya?/
//Ok, ok You were right!// Yuugi rolled his eyes. //Now please! Go away!//
/Hey I like her too ya know!/ Yugi yelled.
//Shut up please.// Yuugi said, knocking all contact off. 'That kid can be annoying at times.' Yuugi thought.
"This is great Yuugi." Anzu said. "You want some?" "No thanks." Yuugi said. "Come on. Your making me feel fat." Anzu said. "Fat?!" Yuugi looked at Anzu. "That ain't fat!" he said poking her stomach. "Yes it is." Anzu said rising her shirt up over her stomach. "Look. . . fat!" "What is it with girls, and saying their fat?" Yuugi asked. "I dunno." Anzu said. "But I am fat." "J**us Anzu." Yuugi said. "Quit it! If you want to be fat give e those grapes and I'll get ya some chips or something!" "Knock off Yuugi." Anzu said hauling the bowl away from him. "That wasn't funny."
Yuugi smirked and got up, he looked through the window. "Damn!" Anzu jumped up. "Its one o'clock! I got to get home!" "You aren't going anywhere Anzu." Yuugi said. "Why?!" Anzu asked. "Look." Yuugi stepped away from the window, everything was white. "We are snowed in." Anzu turned as white as the snow. "Wha. . ." "Sorry." Yuugi said. He picked up the phone. "And this thing is dead." "Oh. . . GREAT!" Anzu fell back on the couch.
"It ain't that bad." Yuugi said. "We could have Jono and Honda here with us." Anzu frowned. "Your right. The biggest cat fight in the history of cat fights would take place." the two of them laughed at the thought.
"How bad are we snowed in?" Anzu asked. "Over the window." Yuugi said. "What?!" Anzu jumped off the couch. "You heard me." Yuugi said looking at her. "Oh great." Anzu dropped to her knees. "This is perfect!" "Isn't it though?" Yuugi said. "What are you sayin?" Anzu asked. "Nothing Anzu." Yuugi said.
There was a crack, and the lights went out. "Ah!" Anzu screamed, she grabbed the couch. "Chill Anzu, a power line broke, that's all." Yuugi said looking around in the darkness. "That's all?!" Anzu said looking in Yuugi's direction. She stood up and sat on the couch. "Do you have any candles or anything?" Anzu asked. "Yeah." Yuugi said. "In the basement." "What?" Anzu said. "You gotta be kidding me!" "I'm not." Yuugi said standing up.
"Where are you going?" Anzu asked. "To get some candles." Yuugi said making his way out of the livingroom. "Be back in a minute." when Yuugi left the room, Anzu stretched out over the couch. 'This is great!' she said to herself. 'I am here. . . all alone. . . with YUUGI!'
It wasn't long before the flicker of candles could be seen. Yuugi walked back into the livingroom with a lit candle, and five others that weren't lit. he placed them all on the floor and lit them all. "There." he said looking at Anzu. The flicker of the candles showed outlines of Yuugi's sharp face. "That's much better." Anzu said. "Thought so." Yuugi said with a grin.
"Your going to sleep there tonight are you?" Yuugi asked looking at Anzu. She was all out on the couch. "Yeah." she said. Yuugi nodded and rapped a blanket around her. "Then I will too." he said lying down on the floor. "But Yuugi." Anzu looked down at him. "No." Yuugi said. "I'm right here. This is where I'm staying." "Thanks Yuugi." Anzu smiled and settled back down on the couch. "No problem Anzu." Yuugi said. He kept his eyes on her until she drifted off to sleep.
