Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Songbird ❯ Spirits Of Kuruelna ( Chapter 13 )
Many screams were heard in the village as everyone ran out their houses with their children and some of their belongings trying to escape the evil spirits of Kuruelna. A soldier standing by immediately notified the Priests who notified the Pharaoh. They got onto their horses and bursts through the Palace gates summoning their Ka's and scaring away the spirits. The spirits ran away with great fear and the Pharaoh watched them from the distance. The Pharaoh remembered those spirits from when he went to the thief city and fought Bakura in the Underground Temple. The Pharaoh went back to the Palace while the Priests went around the village to make sure everything was back in order. A few died but the rest suffered mild injuries.
The Pharaoh called a meeting and his Priests met in the conference room with him. "Why have these spirits come back?" Priest Shadah said angrily.
"Because we killed Zork. It's bad enough that we had to kill Bakura but now that we have killed Zork they will stop at nothing to come and kill us." Priestess Ishizu said panicky.
"How do you suppose we stop this?" Priestess Mana said.
"We will have to go to the city." the Pharaoh said.
"But there are so many more spirits then last time. Its like they are just pouring out their graves to come and attack us." Priestess Mana said.
"Yes, and it doesn't help that those same people were sacrificed for these millennium items we have today." Priestess Ishizu said.
"Serves them right. If we didn't to what we did they would have killed us all." Priest Shadah said.
"But that is so heartless. A whole village was sacrificed and now we are the ones who will pay." Priestess Mana said.
"Where do you think the source of this is coming from?" Priest Shadah said.
"I don't know. Like I said the only way we are going to get more information is if we go to the village and find out for ourselves." the Pharaoh said.
Loud screams were suddenly heard as the Pharaoh and his Priests came running out of the room following the sounds of the screams as they found a servant lying dead on the floor.
"I think we better leave now." Priest Shadah said.
"Yes, because I can see where this is headed and I do not like it." the Pharaoh said.
"What about Kimora?" Priestess Mana said.
"Kimora knows that she has to stay in the Palace. I have some soldiers and servants checking on her." the Pharaoh said.
"Very well then let us make haste." Priest Shadah said.
They got onto their horses and left the Palace headed for Kuruelna. On the way the spirits were circling around them making loud dying noises but they didn't attack. When they entered the village the spirits disappeared which made the Pharaoh become very suspicious. They all stopped and looked around and started to see flashbacks of dirty thieves running around yelling and screaming and being slaughtered by soldiers of the Palace.
Priest Akunadin stood by watching. A little boy with white hair stood in the darkness watching his people get murdered and when the Pharaoh looked over and saw him he called out "Bakura..." But the image disappeared.
Blood and blades were flying everywhere. Bodies were dropping to the ground. But no one could escape this massive torture. Then those images disappeared and they were back in the underground Temple watching Priest Akunadin create the millennium items and then leave without care. The Pharaoh was breathing heavily watching these horrid images and then it returned back to its normal state.
"This cannot be...I can't believe that he would do such a thing."
The Pharaoh rode ahead looking around but no one was there. He heard some crackling and immediately stopped his horse but that was just the wind blowing the rocks. Then a young lady appeared no more then Kimora's age. She was very dirty, wore old rags, her short hair and skin were infested with dirt and bugs. The Pharaoh just looked at her with a sour face.
"Look at this city. It's all in ruins thanks to you and your family. You destroyed all we had because you're jealous and you're scared. Scared that we would overthrow your Kingdom and jealous because we were a strong unit of thieves. We never betrayed each other whereas you always had your own people plotting against you. Luckily Bakura and I escaped together but we went our separate ways when we got old enough. And now that you have killed him the spirits are angry and will get revenge on you and your people."
"Your people have done their share of harm towards others. Stealing and killing innocent people because you're too weak to get out there and work with the rest of them. I'll admit, what happened to your people was cold hearted but I cannot undo what has been done and killing me and my people will not justify what has happened."
"Oh but there is something you can do. These spirits plan on sacrificing 99 of your people so that I may continue what Bakura and Zork started. I will gain dark powers beyond any that Zork or Bakura ever obtained and I will finish off the rest of your people and you and avenge the death of the people of Kuruelna."
"Zork was never in it for you or your people he wanted to fill the world with darkness and Bakura was nothing but a pawn in his game and so are you if you continue on with this plan."
"You lie! Zork and Bakura were working together to avenge the deaths of the Kuruelnian people and to make the world a much darker place."
"If that is so then why didn't Zork and Bakura work together to defeat us? Why didn't Zork attempt to resurrect Bakura? Why did Zork send Bakura out to do his dirty work until the time was right for him to make his move?"
The young lady had a blank look on her face trying to figure out what to say to the Pharaoh yet she knew that he was right but didn't want to admit it.
"So what's your point? Why do you care so much about what I think?"
"I'm trying to help you before you make a mistake you will regret."
"I have nothing to regret except not helping them kill you."
"Nothing will be settled this way. Don't make the same mistake they did."
"Like I said the only mistake I ever made was not helping them kill you. Now you have got into something you can't get out of no matter how strong you are. When 99 of your people are dead you had better be ready for the worse to come. No millennium item is required I will gain my power from these dark spirits that you see around you plus the 99 that come from your city which will be more then enough to kill you. "
"Wait!"
Her evil laugh filled the village and then the spirits came out and began attacking the Pharaoh. He summoned Osiris to scare away the spirits and as soon as he got the chance he and his Priests escaped the village hearing her laugh in the distance.
