Hot Chocolate and Angry Kaibas

Yugi gave Cali and Mokuba each a blanket to wrap around themselves. Cali called for her driver, insisting to use a regular car. She didn't want Yugi and the whole town knowing she was the CEO of a large company, at Kaiba Corp's level.

Mokuba stayed at the Game Corner, and changed into some of Yugi's clothes. They were almost the same size… They each had a large mug of hot chocolate to drink as they talked, warming up.

"What happened, Mokuba?" Yugi asked.

"Seto was doing business, so I left. I was in my boat in the park, when I dropped my oar. I leaned over to get it but my boat fell over. The water was so cold."

"Cali said you had been unconscious."

"I'm glad she saved me. She's nice. Is she your friend?"

"Uhh, well, she just moved here, so I don't know her very well. I doubt she knows anybody well enough to call them her friend."

"She's Seto's friend!"

"Hmm?"

"She went into my brother's office today. She was talking to him."

I wonder what she wants with Kaiba. She only moved here, how does she know him? Maybe she challenged him to a duel! If she thinks she's good enough to beat Kaiba, then we should challenge her too! We haven't faced any important duelists since Pegasus! I don't know…she never actually said she was a duelist…

"Did she stay long, Mokuba?"

"I don't know; I left to go to the park."

If he left because she was there, then she was conducting business with Kaiba! Hmm…What a puzzle Cali is. Maybe we'll find out later. She did just move here. I don't know, Yugi. She shouldn't have to hide if her reasons are good. Maybe she doesn't want people nosing into her business. Maybe she'll get in trouble if people nose into her business. Yami, we don't even know her! It's different if you're talking about…well, someone criminal, but this girl is nice! I just don't trust her, Yugi. I've been around a long time to judge.

"Yugi! I forgot to call my brother! He must be worried about me!"

"Of course, Mokuba! We have to call right away…"

Mokuba called Seto at his office. Although it was already nine o'clock, Seto was still there, looking for Mokuba. I wish my office building weren't so big. Then I would find him.

***On the phone***

"Hello?"

"Seto? It's me, Mokuba!"

"Mokuba! Where are you? Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm at the Game Corner with Yugi."

"Where? Mokuba, you know how I feel about him."

"I got into a little bit of an accident, and his place was the closest to me."

"An accident!?! That's it, I'm coming over right now!"

Kaiba got his driver and hurried to the game corner in his white limo. Mokuba was inside, and thanked Yugi for the hot chocolate and clothes.

"Bye, Yugi!" Mokuba waved.

"We will have someone deliver the clothes tomorrow."

"Oh that's not necessary, Seto…"

"It is. Good bye."

Once the Kaiba brothers got home, Mokuba told Seto what had happened with the lake.

"Mokuba, you keep talking about `a girl.' Who was the girl?"

"The girl you were talking to before!"

"The receptionist?"

"No…Yugi said her name was…I think…Cali?"

Cali! Cali saved Mokuba? I'll bet she didn't even know who he was…

"Are we going to send her fruit?"

Seto laughed at his usual method of thanks.

"No, I think you better thank her yourself."

"Not by myself! Please come with me, big brother!"

Go to Cali's hotel room? Is that too personal for business associates? I wish this had never happened!

"All right, I'll come, Mokuba."

The next day at school, Kaiba avoided Cali and Cali avoided Kaiba. They were a little embarrassed with their actions. Kaiba was afraid she would not like him because he declined the offer of the tournament. Cali was embarrassed because she tried to seem like she didn't like Seto and then went and saved his brother.

During lunch, Yugi walked up to Cali.

"How are you doing, Cali? Did you catch a cold?"

"No, I'm fine, Yugi. Thanks."

"Good."

"How is Mokuba doing?"

"I think he's going to be ok. Seto was really mad when he found out where he was. He doesn't like me very much."

"Why not? I think you're really nice!"

"Oh, well, I think it's because I beat him in a duel once…"

"What a stupid reason for hating you!"

"I know…but it can't be helped. What about you? Do you play duelmonsters?"

"No…I've never played it. I don't really know how…"

"I'll teach you!"

For the rest of lunch, Yugi was showing Cali his cards, and explaining the attack and defense points of each one. Her hair smells good. Yugi! What are you thinking? Sorry, Yami, I can't help it…Maybe you shouldn't be helping her learn the game…But she wants to! Who else is there to teach her, besides Joey? And Kaiba?I was thinking I should do it. I won't get so carried away with her as you are… Fine. Just do it. So they switched. Cali didn't notice. Her hair does smell good. Yami!Oops.

Kaiba glanced over at Cali. What is she doing with Yugi? That stupid little…! Did he just rub her leg? Grrr…I have to stop him! So of course Kaiba walked over to Yugi and Cali (who didn't even notice Yami hitting on her) (naïve, isn't it?).

"Yugi, don't you think I have a little bit better credentials for teaching Cali this game?"

"Well, I did beat you once Kaiba…"

"and then I defeated you again at Duelist Kingdom…or don't you remember our duel on Pegasus' roof?"

"But I no choice but to surrender! You would have fallen off the castle!"

"I would not have."

"You said the magnetism-"

"You shouldn't believe everything you hear, Yugiboy."

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!"

Kaiba just laughed, as the bell rang to go back inside.

"By the way, Kaiba, I have perfect credentials." Yugi said, after Cali had left.

"What, didn't you hear me before, Yugi?"

"I'm not Yugi."

"You mean you're-"

"Yes, and I'm going to find out what going on between you and Cali."

"There's nothing going on between us! I'm not even going to the dumb dance!"

"I didn't mean romantically, Kaibaboy. She was at Kaiba Corp the other day, and I'm going to find out what she's got up her sleeve. You better watch out."

"I'm not afraid of you, decrepit old pharaoh."

"Oh, not of me. Of her."

Later that day, the Kaiba brothers met at home. Kaiba didn't really want to go see Cali. After making a fool of himself in front her at lunch earlier, he was sure Cali thought he was a arrogant jerk.

"Big brother, you said you would come with me!"

"I just don't want to go, Mokuba!"

"Why not?"

"I don't like Cali."

"What? You don't like her?"

"No."

"Seto, you don't like anybody!"

"…so?"

"So you need some friends or something!"

"I have everything I need. I have you, my company, and my deck."

"How about a girlfriend?"

"What?"

"Someone you can be yourself around…"

"but my self wouldn't have a girlfriend! I don't, and I am myself!"

"Seto, I just want you to be happy!"

"I am happy, Mokuba!"

"You never listen to me!"

"Leave me alone!"

"NO!"

"Mokuba!"

"Seto!"

"UGH!"

"UGH!"

A little later, both brothers were feeling bad about their argument. Neither actually apologized, but they both resolved to forget it ever happened.

"Ready to go, Seto?"

"Go where?"

"Cali's!"
