Yami clambered up the vicarage wall until he got to the open window of his room, he sighed and jumped into his bedroom quietly and quickly shut the window back up. He listened while holding his breath and then, when he was sure Father Simon hadn't heard his return he let out his breath and changed back into his PJ's which were to Yami's embarrassment, silky and plain white.

His room had stain glass windows of all colours with paintings of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. There was an oak book shelf in a corner filled with strangely, horror books. A few romance books and of coarse a bible all with happy endings and adventure included in each.

The bed was a single plain white bed to match with the walls, an oak wardrobe lay in another corner and a desk with more books placed neatly on it were by the large, locked door.

Yami's room was very plain indeed apart from the books and a little CD stack with a personal beside it.

There were also Yami's paintings in his desk draw but, he didn't show them to anyone in fear of what they would see.

His paintings always reflected his moods, some were happy and joyful but some were not.

Some show anger and evil. Some show loneliness and sadness. Some even show creatures that terrified Yami himself.

He didn't know why he drew these things, it was like his hand took control and he would go into a trance.

But, he liked his paintings because they all seemed to start with one thing, freedom. Freedom to do what you wanted, when you wanted.

Yami crawled into his bed and turned on a light above it. He grabbed a book called "Evil Thirst" and began to read……..

Halfway through the book, Yami began to feel strange and dizzy, his head began to pound and his vision became blurred.

*Flashback*

"Mommy, what's going to happen?" a little boy asked, holding onto his mothers hand.

The women looked down at her son; she was not quite as beautiful as her son but was all the same. She had shoulder length golden hair and striking emerald eyes, she wore a white dress.

"Mommy has to leave sweet heart, we are in great danger." She said blinking back unwanted tears.

`So this is my punishment for all the sins I've committed,' she thought bitterly `having the one thing that has brought me to the light and made me feel human, leave me.'

The little boy was crying, "but why Mommy?" he wailed "why are we in danger?"

"Remember what I told you?" the women asked "I told you I'd have to leave you some day; those hunters will come for both of us! That is why I must leave, otherwise you will die."

The boy continued to wail, he clutched onto his mother.

"No mommy! Why can't we both live, together?" he asked

His mother returned her sons embrace and finally let her tears fall, "because mommy has done very bad things." She explained

"Why don't you just say sorry?" the boy asked

"So many questions, Yami." The women replied "you should know by now that you must trust fate. Listen to me, I have to leave and I'm so sorry for it but, your father has chosen fate and my fate is to sacrifice myself for you, my light."

The boy shock his head desperately, "no. please." He pleaded

"Thank you my love, for showing me the light." The women whispered "Don't ever forget me; don't ever forget your mothers face! And remember I love you and so doe's daddy. Mommy is leaving now, be good for mommy, don't let your instincts control you……I love you, good bye!"

The boys mother then ran knowing she would later be captured and burned alive, the boy called out to her but she was gone…..

*end flashback*

Yami gasped and dropped the book onto the floor, tears fell from his eyes

"Mother?" he whispered "I don't understand……."

A shifting noise was then heard from downstairs, Yami quickly grabbed his book and put it under his pillow.

Turning off his light hurriedly, Yami lay his head down and pulled up his covers.

The door opened and Father Simon peeked through and sighed in relief of the sight of Yami sleeping (though pretending) peacefully. He then quietly shut the door again, locked it and went back to whatever he had been doing.

Yami opened one eye and then the other, he was surrounded in darkness but his senses helped him to see everything.

He sat up and said his prayer then he lay down again and waited for sleep to come to him.
