Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Tainted Angel ❯ Chapter 4
A/N: This is getting interesting for me to write! ^^ I hope you all could guess who was the person in the last scene. Sorry about the very late update; school is hell. And by hell, I mean Earth Science, Math AB, Spanish, Social Studies, and regents English. *sigh* It was my choice to go into two honors classes, so I shouldn't complain.
Still don't even have the slightest chance of owning YuGiOh. No yamis/hikaris.

*~*~*~*~*~*= scene change
Ok, that was probably the shortest author's note I've ever written. ^^; Oh well, on to the next chapter!
Tainted Angel
Ryou had left slightly early for school. The walk seemed shorter, now that he had someone to think about. As soon as he walked into the classroom, students looked at him and began whispering to others near them. Ryou felt uneasy as he sat down in his desk and took out his books. He turned pages and tried doing other things to avert his mind from the stares he could feel without even seeing them. Yugi and the rest of the group arrived shortly after and walked over to the nervous student.
"Ohayo Ryou-kun!" Yugi said happily.
"Ohayo," Ryou responded quietly.
"I hear a lot of people talking about Rikoh-chan," Anzu stated.
"Wh-What are they saying?!"
Blush was apparent on his cheeks and his voice threatened to falter and reach pitched he never knew it could.
"Oh, they're just saying that you have a girlfriend," Jou said calmly.
"And I wonder who started it," Anzu said while glaring at both him and Honda.
"What? We didn't do anything!" They shouted in unison.
The bell rang and all the students quickly found their seats. Ryou could not have been more thankful than at that particular moment.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Rikoh read the note on the table that Ryou had left her. There was a small amount of money and a house key next to it. She picked up both items, locked the door on her way out, and then headed for the stores.
The different display windows amazed her. Adults around her smiled as she reminded them of a little kid in a candy shop. Rikoh stopped in some stores to look around, but only purchased at the art shop. At least now she could express herself the same way she did in Heaven. She walked out with a bag filled with all sorts of writing tools, inks, and paper that she had carefully matched by memory to those she used to use.
As Rikoh was walking back to the apartment, she couldn't help but have a paranoid feeling. Someone was following her and its aura was not human, not angelic, and not demonic; it was dark angelic. She shuddered at the thought of who it was and pushed away the memories before they came back again. Rikoh's pace quickened as the aura seemed to get nearer. After running into the elevator, she sighed heavily of relief.
/Just as long as he doesn't catch me…/
That one thought repeated itself over and over inside her head. Endless horrid visions filled her, some from her past and some of what might happen in the future.
She closed the apartment door closed behind her quickly. A thought came to her head and she wiped a tear from her eye. After cleaning up all of the rooms, which didn't take long, she changed into the outfit she had first met Ryou in.
Rikoh then sat down at the table in the living room and took out a few of her supplies. Tears threatened to fall as she worked on two illustrations that she had been waiting to get down on paper. Once they were done, she would wait for Ryou to come back. One tear escaped its hold but was caught before ever leaving her cheek.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Rikoh jumped when the door opened and then closed. She turned around to see that Ryou was finally home. A weak smile came to her face, as she looked him in the eyes. He gave her a concerned look before putting down his bag and walking over to her. Suddenly the two pieces of paper on the table caught his eye.
"Wow, these drawings are great! Did you make these?" he exclaimed.
She nodded her head slowly. Ryou studied the portraits before him more closely and saw what they were of. One was composed of light inking and seemed to be of him. He blushed. The other had heavy ink lines and was mostly black. This one resembled him but still seemed different. Then it struck him; that drawing wasn't supposed to be him, but someone completely different.
"That's him, isn't it?" he asked, referring to the second one.
"He saw me today. I could feel his aura bearing down on me," Rikoh said quietly.
"But he doesn't know you're here, does he?" Ryou's voice was extremely worried.
"No, but it's only a matter of time. I'm afraid that if he finds me here, I'll be putting you in danger. I can't stay here any longer…"
"Wh-What? No, you can't go. Not now. I don't care what will come, just please don't go."
"…I must."
"No! Please!"
Rikoh looked at him with eyes filled with tears. She smiled in a way as if to say, "everything will be all right, you just have to trust me."
"I've had so much fun these past few days and I don't want to leave either. I would just like to know that you are out of harm's way. I could never live with myself if I let you down again. Even if I leave, I'll always be with you. Remember that."
Tears fell not only from her eyes, but from Ryou's as well. With that done, she ran out the door, jumped over the railing, and used her wings to minimize the impact. Rikoh continued to run, not looking back once. She had to find a new place to stay and to get away from both of her angels. Her sweet, caring angel that she had to leave behind to protect, and her evil, abusive dark angel that refused to let her be part of his past.
Ryou was too shocked to move. He had watched her run out, but did not want to bear the pain of looking at her for more than that. He broke down into hysterics and buried his face in his hands. Tears fell to the carpet below him as he cried for all his life was worth. Nothing was going to erase her from his mind or his heart,
"She's a heartbreaker, what can you expect?" an unfamiliar voice said.
Ryou looked up and then around himself. What his eyes laid upon made him gasp. There, in his apartment, was a look-a-like of him with a black wardrobe, black feather wings, and messier hair. What he had been warned to stay away from had now found him.
"It's you! You're the one who drove her away!" Ryou shouted at the dark angel Bakura before him.
His sorrow had now turned to hate and rage. While Ryou was fuming, Bakura stayed completely calm. He knew exactly what he was doing.
"I suppose so. But then again, she wouldn't have loved you anyway. You're not an angel and that's what she's looking for," Bakura taunted.
"Whether she loves me or not, at least she's far away from you."
"But soon she won't be. Tell me, what is it that you humans use for self-defense?"
Bakura smirked as a dark energy ball was thrown at Ryou, knocking him unconscious. He proceeded to restrain Ryou from moving when he would wake up. His plan was flowing perfectly and he had no intentions for it not to.
/I told you I'd have you somehow. Today will be the day and you will be mine forever!/
Bakura then flew out the apartment door and in the direction he sensed a familiar angelic aura.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Rikoh sat below a tree, taking a breather from running so far. It had only been a few minutes before she sensed a dark angelic aura was growing closer very quickly. She began to panic and ran again, using her wings to increase her speed. Her effort still was not enough because not long after, Bakura appeared in front of her. Not being able to stop fast enough, she crashed into him. He had predicted this would happen and held on to her, as if embracing her. Rikoh fought and struggled against his grip, but her efforts were to no avail.
"Calm down. I promise I won't hurt you… yet."
Bakura's voice was like a reoccurring nightmare; it is terrifying the first time, but the fear begins to grow from its repeating. Rikoh had felt that ever since the first time she heard him speak and the feeling came to a peak as the threat resounded off the silent walls of her mind, repeating and repeating itself. It seemed to work as a restraint on her mind because she felt her body cease to move anymore.
"I'm glad you're cooperating. You might want to continue to because there's a surprise waiting for you where I'm going to take you. Fussing will only make the situation worse."
Bakura took hold of Rikoh's hand and lifted off the ground. No more than two minutes had passed when his hand moved from her hand to her waist. She tried pushing it off, but he pulled her in so that her side was leaning against his chest and she was looking at him and began to hover in place.
"If you care at all for that human friend of yours, you'd better give in to my will," Bakura forcefully stated.
Rikoh's eyes widened in terror. She then let her hands fall limp at her sides and folded her wings to fit her back. He smirked and held her closely, his hand resting on her breast. With his other hand, he began to stroke her hair. Bakura started moving again and they soon made it to the floor of Ryou's apartment.
He let Rikoh stand on her feet, but held her wrist tightly and pulled her inside. She looked around and saw that Ryou was on the couch, not conscious. She went to run over to him, but was harshly pulled back by the one she had entered with.
"What is it that you wish from me to exchange for his freedom and a promise that you will not harm him?" Rikoh asked, dreading what Bakura's evil, sick mind would conjure.
"You know very well what I want. If you promise to be mine and to do whatever I say, whenever I say it, the pathetic human will be let go and I won't touch him again." Bakura smirked as he spoke.
Rikoh was stuck. If she didn't agree, Ryou would go through pain and Bakura might do something to her. If she did agree, she'd probably never see Ryou again and she'd have to give herself to Bakura anytime that he wanted her to. Either way she'd lose. Either way he'd win.
/Either way I lose Ryou forever… I can't let that happen again…/
"Bakura… I'm going to… I'm going to"

Sorry for the cliffie! Wow, that was a short chapter. Sorry about that. I just wanted a good cliffie and that seemed the best place. I would like to thank Kirei (of course, but that's not a bad thing) and Maliksgirl1125 for reviewing for the last chappie! Thankies a bunch! ^^ Ok, also no Japanese in this chappie that's new.
Pretty please review! I'm a very desperate author here!
