Chapter 1: Nocturnal Angel

Yugi was sitting next to a stone gargoyle while looking over the lighted outskirts of Domino city. Three years has past since he prowled the gothic netherworld and avenged his grandfather's death. After killing Seto Kaiba, Yugi returned to the realm of the dead to be with his grandfather but he didn't feel quite at home. Yami chose to defy death so he would return to Domino city. Since then, Yugi has worked in the shadows, fighting crime, and helping out the living while avoiding Detective Albrecht and the rest of the authorities. The Crow also recieved a small but loyal cult following. Yugi stood up as the crow flew and it cawed to him. Yugi nodded, leaped off the ledge and disappeared into the night with the crow flying behind him. Bandit Keith and his two lackys, Skank and T-Bird, were causing some trouble. They were driving around town, destroying public property. They cheered and yelled as the pounding music of Metallica blasted through the car.

"This is fun!" screamed Skank.

"'Seek and Destroy', man," said Bandit Keith.

Keith's car sped past a red light nearly crashing into a group of cars, angry drivers yelled and honked their horns in protest. Yugi and the crow saw the car speed through the streets then chased after them from the rooftops. Bandit Keith screeched his car in front of a cyber coffeehouse, they got out of the car as they grabbed a small pipebomb. Before they went inside to destroy the coffehouse, Yami Yugi alias The Crow walked into the streetlights.

"Don't even think about it," said Yugi.

"It's that painted up motherfucker who kicked our asses three years ago," said Skank.

"Good. I've been looking forward for some payback," Keith added.

"You want me? Come and get me," said Yugi, bowing down and spreading his arms forth.

"I'll get him first," said Skank, dropping the pipebomb.

Skank charged toward Yugi but he kicked Skank in the face, knocking him to the ground. T-Bird stepped up next.

"You wanna play rough?" asked T-Bird.

"Sorry, I'm not into men," Yami Yugi remarked.

"I'm gonna kill you for saying that!" screamed T-Bird.

T-Bird punched Yugi across the face but Yugi barely felt it. T-Bird swinged his fists again but Yugi jammed his knee into T-Bird's chest then kicked him in the back of the head. T-Bird crashed to the sidewalk as Bandit Keith stared at Yugi.

"I'm gonna make you bleed, freak," said Bandit Keith.

Keith swung at the Crow but he ducked and dodged Keith's punches. Keith pulled out his knife as he yelled, "I'll cut you from ear to ear, you motherfucker!"

Keith slashed at Yugi as he dodged the blade. The blade made contact with Yugi's neck but the slash wound disappeared as Yugi laughed evilly. Keith stared at Yugi with shock and fear.

"What the fuck are you?" Keith asked.

"I am a man with many talents," Yugi replied.

"You're gonna be a dead man when I get through with you!" yelled Bandit Keith.

"I'm already dead," remarked Yami Yugi.

"RAAAAAAH! Have at you!" Bandit Keith yelled.

Bandit Keith tried to kick Yugi in the face but Yugi turned around. Yugi backpunched Bandit Keith in the face then delivered a roundhouse kick, knocking Keith out. Detective Daryl Albrecht came by a few minutes later, he saw Bandit Keith, T-Bird, and Skank bound and hanging from a flagpole of the coffeehouse.

"Looks like you boys are going back to jail," said Albrecht.

Albrecht saw the mark of the crow next to the coffeehouse window, he suspected Yugi Muto had attacked these three guys, Albrecht radioed the dispatcher for assistance. Johnny Steps ran through the hallway. He stopped at the office of Maximillion Pegasus, his boss. Johnny quietly walked into the office as Pegasus asked "What is it, Johnny?"

"Boss, the police arrested Bandit Keith and his boys," said Johnny.

"New members are so hard to come by these days," said Pegasus.

"Well, yeah. The cops also saw a strange bird drawing," said Johnny.

"A bird?" asked Pegasus.

"Yeah, I think it's a crow," Johnny replied.

"A crow you say?" Pegasus asked. "I've heard of this vigilante."

"Who?" asked Johnny.

"The people and police call him 'The Crow'," Pegasus replied. "He appeared three years ago and murdered Seto Kaiba."

"He might become a major problem boss," said Johnny.

"Don't worry about it, John," said Pegasus. "Make sure he doesn't interfere with my plans."

"Ok, sir," said Johnny, leaving the office.

Pegasus turned his chair around to watch the vast metropolis that is Domino City. 'Domino City, oh how I loathe you,' Pegasus thought.

Tea was visiting the grave of Yugi and Solomon Muto. She placed some roses next to the tombstone and put her hands together in a prayer. Tears streamed down her pretty face as the crow flew into the cemetary. The bird cawed at her in sympathy. Tea stared into the bird's golden yellow eyes and mentally saw Yugi's face. She smiled as she wiped away some of her tears.

"Yugi," Tea said through her tears.

Tea cried tears of happiness as she felt a sense of great warmth in her body, despite the cold merciless winds blowing in the cemetary. Yugi watched Tea through the eyes of the crow at the old gameshop.

"Tea," Yugi said sadly.

Yami Yugi turned away from the window to face the mirror. He looked at his painted face in the mirror as sadness came into his eyes. Yugi layed down on his bed as the crow came to Yugi's room. Yugi looked at the bird for a few seconds before drifting off to sleep. Across the street from the gameshop, Skull Cowboy watched over Yugi.

'Yugi has protected the city for God knows how long but he has to get ready for his next mission. He must stop Pegasus before it's too late. Devil's night is upon us,' Skull Cowboy thought.
