Chapter 4: Eve of Devil's Night

It's been two days since The Crow and Tea rekindled their old romance. During that time, Yugi took a break from crimefighting to be with her. They were talkin' bout starting a future together and talked bout life in general. Yugi thought about her as he looked up at the night sky. The crow flew to Yugi's shoulder and cawed. The bird flew away to see a black car moving along the streets of Domino, Yugi looked through the bird's eyes to see where the car was heading.

Arkana drove through the city then stopped at the railroad tracks to wait for the train to pass by, he turned on the radio as he heard a crow caw. Arkana shot his head up and rolled down the window to find the source of the caw, he didn't find anything but a gloved fist to the face. Arkana's face crashed into the passengerside window, he saw the man who punched him in the face enter the driverside of the car, Yami Yugi Muto alias The Crow.

"Shit on me," said Arkana staring into the face of The Crow.

"Hello, Arkana. I'll be your driver for this evening," said Yugi.

"What the hell you want?" quizzed Arkana.

"The location of your boss's hideout," said Yami.

"I'm not telling you fucking shit goth boy," Arkana yelled.

"Perhaps a little drive through the city will get you to tell me," said Yugi.

Yugi slapped his right foot on the gas pedel and began to drive like a madman. The car blazed its way through the public streets as people ran for safety. Yugi almost crashed Arkana's car into street lights, mailboxes, and other cars. The motorists shouted "Watch where you're going, you motherfucker!", "Learn how to drive, asshole!", and "What the fuck are ya trying to do, get yerself killed?!" Yugi ignored the protest shouts of motorists as he continued to interrogate Arkana on the location of Pegasus' base.

"Please, stop! C'mon, this ain't goddamn funny," pleaded Arkana.

"You better tell me where Pegasus is," said Yami.

"Never," Arkana protested.

Yugi sped the car past a nearby Dunk'n Doughnuts where Detective Albrecht was about to have his break. Albrecht saw Arkana's car zoom by, he put down his coffee and bag of doughnuts to take chase.

"Dispatch, I'm tailing a stolen porche now, I request back-up. I repeat, request back-up," said Albrecht.

"Roger. Back-up is on it's way," said the dispatcher.

Albrecht turned on the sirens and began to chase Yugi and Arkana. Yami heard the sounds of police sirens, he turned his attention to the rearview mirror to see Albrecht just behind him.

'Dammit, it's Albrecht! I gotta lose him,' thought Yugi.

Yugi slammed on the accelerator to get away but Albrecht's renforcements began to take part in the chase, Yami saw eight police cars and a police 'copter tailing him.

'Fuck, not more cops," Yugi thought.

Yugi and the police had drove too fast and too furious throughout the entire city, Yami took a sharpe turn to the industrial section of town where the chase really heated up.

"Shit! slow down," quivered Arkana.

"Tell me where your boss' hideout is and I won't think about crashing the car," said Yugi.

"I'm not gonna tell you anything," said Arkana.

Yugi and the police except for the police chopper drove into a factory. As they drove through the factory, two of the cars crashed while factory workers ran for cover. After exiting the factory, Yugi saw a cigerette lighter and pushed it. As Yami saw some more police cars in front of him, he kicked the car into major high gear.

"Are you out of your fuckin' mind!? We're gonna die," screamed Arkana.

"How can you die if you're already dead!" asked Yugi.

After hearing that, Arkana fearfully stared at Yami. As Yugi took a turn, another police car crashed into one of the immobile police cars.

"Fuck," yelled Arkana.

The cigerette lighter popped out, Arkana screamed as Yugi slammed the car into a bus. Both Yugi and Arkana crashed head first out of the windshield onto the hood of the car. While Arkana lied down on the hood all scratched and bloodied, Yugi got up and jumped off the car unscathed. Yami saw Albrecht and his officers emerging from their cars, he smiled evily at Albrecht then reached into the car for the cigerette lighter. As He pulled out the lighter out of the car and walked to the trunk, Arkana lasped into deathly unconsciousness. The car began to leak out gasoline, Yami dropped the lighter onto the ground causing a massive fire. The car and bus exploded as Arkana's body became incinerated within the fire but fortunately for the police, they were at a good distance away from the flames. Yugi walked away from the fire and past the police but Albrecht and the police drew their weapons.

"Don't move, Yugi Muto," yelled Albrecht.

Yugi stopped and looked at him and the rest of the police with the mark of the crow shining on his forehead. The frightened detective reached into his right pants pocket and pulled out his handcuffs.

"Put your hands behind your back now," said Albrecht, flashing the handcuffs.

"I'm afraid I can't do that detective," Yami said.

"What the hell are you talking about?" asked Albrecht.

"I must stop a madman named Maximillion Pegasus from restarting Devil's Night," said Yugi.

"'Devil's Night'?" quizzed Albrecht.

"Pegasus wants to blow up the city for revenge of his uncle named Jason Danko," said Yami.

"What you're saying doesn't justify you for killing that man," said Albrecht.

"That guy I killed was one of Pegasus' henchmen," said Yugi.

"Really? I know you also killed Mako and Esper," said Albrecht.

"They too were Pegasus' henchmen, now Johnny Steps and Pegasus are next," said Yami.

"I won't let you kill them Yugi, you better leave this to the law. Now come on down to the station with me, I have a nice warm jail cell for ya," said Albrecht.

"Sorry, Officer Albrecht but I got other business to care of. Bye," said Yugi.

Yugi raised out his right arm and swirled around like his overcoat, walking away from the cops with the crow flying behind. Albrecht watched Yami walk until he was one with the shadows.

'One of these days Yugi, I will see you in prison overalls,' Albrecht thought.

Back in town, Joey was sitting on the steps of his house smoking a cigerette, he heard the sound of a car coming into the driveway. Coming out from the driverside was Tea.

"Hey Joey," said Tea walking to the front steps.

"What's up Tea?" said Joey.

"Joey, there's something you should know," said Tea.

"What is it, Tea?" Joey asked.

"A couple of nights ago, I saw Yugi at the card shop," said Tea.

"Yugi? I thought he returned to the otherside to be with his grandpa," said Joey.

"That's what I thought too until I started to have dreams about him," said Tea.

"Dreams?" asked a confused Joey.

"Yeah. In this dream, I saw Yugi walking toward a large building, I called out to him but he said he was on a new mission. Then the building exploded into flames while this man with long sliver hair appeared from behind the building laughing," said Tea.

"A new mission? I know Yugi already killed Kaiba and avenged Mr. Muto's death but why would he come back from the grave again?" asked Joey.

"I don't know but it might have something to do with my dream," replied Tea.

"Perhaps," said Joey.

At the Domino Police Station, Albrecht began to research the old Devil's Night case file. According to the case file, Jason Danko started the first few fires back in the early eighties. Every year, these fires would take place in different parts of town and would get worse. Upon closer examination on the case file, Albrecht read about how Danko planned to burn the city down. He then checked Jason's family records, Albrecht noticed Danko had no living relatives except a nephew named Maximillion Pegasus.

'Yugi was right...It appears Danko does have a nephew. Could he actually be behind those recent fires,' Albrecht thought.

Pegasus sat with his chair turned toward the wall with his anger slowly but surely rising as Johnny was sweating profusely and quivered in fear.

"So...what you're saying is The Crow has killed Arkana?" Pegasus asked turning his chair around to face Johnny.

"Y-yeah Master Pegasus," said Johnny.

"That presumptuous vigilante has interfered in my plans for the last time! You better get out there, find The Crow and kill him or don't come back! Understood," yelled Pegasus.

"O-okay boss right away," said Johnny leaving the office.

'Everything I planned for Devil's Night's revival is ruined, that vigilante's gonna pay for messing with me. Time to call in some renforcements,' thought Pegasus.

Pegasus grabbed the phone and punched in a few numbers, he placed the reciever to his ear as he said "Hello ParaDox Brothers? I have a job for you."

Johnny hopped on his Harley Davidson motor cycle and rode along the streets of Chinatown, he stopped at a resteraunt, had dinner then went on his way. Johnny cruised away from Chinatown to search for the Crow, he searched from street to street but found nothing. As Johnny was about to give up, he heard a caw. He stopped and saw a big black bird sitting on a street lamp, Johnny shrugged and drove off.

As Johnny continued down the road, he heard an evil laugh echoing throught out the quiet city block. Johnny stopped his motorcycle in front of a closed computer shop, he got off as he said "Who's here?"

Johnny turned around to see a dark figure with a crow on right shoulder standing a few feet away, he became spooked from just looking at the demon's evil clown look.

"You must be The Crow," said Johnny.

"That's right," said Yami.

"You're the fuckin' one who killed my crew," said Johnny.

"Now you're next," said Yugi.

"Oh yeah, man!? This city's gonna fuckin' burn and you won't be around to stop it," said Johnny.

"We'll see about that," said Yugi.

Johnny reached into his red jacket and pulled out a Desert Eagle handgun but Yugi smacked it out of his hand and delivered a blow to Johnny's belly. Johnny fell down on one knee, Yugi grabbed some of Johnny's dreads to pull him up and uppercuts him in the chin. As Johnny rubbed his chin, Yugi grabbed Johnny's red coat.

"Tell me where Pegasus is," said The Crow.

"No," Johnny said, sweating profusely.

"Tell me or I'll tear out your gullet," said Yugi.

"He's in Chinatown," said Johnny.

"Where in Chinatown?" asked Yugi.

"He owns a bar/restaurant called 'The Dragon's Den' on Wo Ping avenue," replied Johnny.

Yami released Johnny by pushing him to the ground. Johnny eyed at Yugi then eyed his Desert Eagle. Johnny dived for his gun and grabbed it. He fired a shot into Yugi's head but Yugi remained standing. Johnny went wide-eyed as he watched the wound on Yami's head close up.

'He's not fuckin' human,' said Johnny mentally.

"My turn," said The Crow.

Before Johnny could fire another shot at Yugi, he snatched the gun from Johnny's hand and shoved the barrel into his mouth. Yami smiled evily as he pulled the trigger, Johnny's body flew three feet to the sidewalk after he was shot dead. Yugi hopped on Johnny's Harley and starts it. The Crow revs the motorcycle and heads for Chinatown.

'Get ready Pegasus, it's time to crash your party,' thought The Crow with the bird flying behind him.

Back at the Dragon's Den, Pegasus sat at his desk as the office door opened. Two figures dressed in Agent Smith-type black suits and sunglasses walked in as Pegasus said "Welcome, you must be the Paradox Brothers. Please, have a seat." The two men pulled up some chairs near Max's desk and sat down.

"Let's get down to business. We heard you were havin' some kind of bird problem?" said Para.

"Yes, this vigilante has been giving me problems as of late," said Max.

"What is this punk's name?" asked Dox.

"He calls himself 'The Crow'," replied Pegasus.

"'The Crow'?" asked Dox.

"That's right," replied Max.

"Tell us about this 'Crow'," said Para.

Pegasus told them everything about The Crow. He told the ParaDox Bros. about The Crow killed his henchmen and ruined his plans of reviving Devil's Night. After that, Pegasus pulled some money to pay for the suits' service.

"How much will I pay you?" asked Pegasus flashing some out some bills.

"Cash won't be necessary Mr. Pegasus," said Para.

"Oh?" replied a confused Maximillion Pegasus.

"We live for the thrill of killing," said Dox.

"The Crow will die by our hands," said Para.

Pegasus and The ParaDox Bros. smiled as they await for The Crow's appearance. The Crow will be in for the fight for Domino City's fate.

To Be Continued...
