CHAPTER 3

The next morning Bakura found a meal nice and warm waiting for him in the kitchen, Anat was grateful at least. Good cause today he was going out.

"ANAT!!" Bakura called.

"Yes?" Anat came running.

"We're going out."

"What?"

"We need food we're going out!"

"Oh, ok. But into town?"

"What do you think?" Bakura asked getting annoyed.

Anat hoped he wasn't just going to turn himself in for no apparent reason.

"Here take this." Bakura tossed over some peasant's clothing.

~~ANAT'S POV~~

Of course he had a plan; well I guess I need to get this on.

Once I'd finished Bakura led me out an entrance I hadn't seen. Once I'd adjusted to the light I saw a majestic black horse.

"Wow." I managed. "He is beautiful."

Bakura just grinned and hoisted me up on the horse.

~~3rd person POV~~

Bakura untied black flame and pulled himself up behind anat.

"Hang on." He said and started the horse into a canter. He grasped Anat tightly so she would not fall.

Once again strange emotions over came him as he held her body close to him. He continued in silence, he pondered over these strange feelings.

Soon they were within the village and Bakura had his horse wait in the desert.

The day was well; Anat played the part of Bakura's wife well. As they headed out a soldier on break spotted them, recognizing Bakura he followed until they reached the village's end. For, Bakura had seen this man and decided to lead him away so as to not lure more trouble.

Bakura stopped "I'm well aware of your presence what do you want?"

"You can't fool me!" the man replied "I recognize you thief Bakura!" what Bakura did not see cost him though. The man had arrows ready and one was already flying.

Bakura whirled but the arrow caught his shoulder. Anat gasped as he cried out, but one arrow would not stop him. Soon the man no longer had a head and Bakura had a bloody sword.

Bakura grunted and fell to his knees.

"Oh! Let me help you!" Anat bent down and carefully removed the arrow the way she had learned from experience. Then she ripped a strip of her outfit and wrapped his wound in it.

Bakura grunted, then gave a whistle and soon black flame appeared and took them home.

"I'm grateful for your help today, but I could have done it myself" Bakura said.

Anat knew he was stubborn but at least some of his good showed. She smiled at him, Bakura got very confused at this, but it only made anat laugh even more. Bakura jus groaned and helped himself to some meat they had gotten.

That night anat awoke to hearing some talking.

"he went here I saw him" a man said.

"you sure it was bakura?" a second voice.

"look! It's a fake rock its him alright!" a third.

Anat looked around frantically only to realize Bakura had everything ready and was hushing her out the back.

"They're going out the back! Stop them!" the first voice warned.

Bakura was already on dark flame, with anat. "Go!" he called and black flame was praticaly soaring!

But soon hoofbeats were heard they were hot on their tails. Bakura steared black flame around again, surpriseing the soldiers.

One fired. The arrow hit. Anat saw the soldier lose an arm, then blacked out.

Wow I updated wice in one day IT'S A MIRACLE!!!
