~*2: The Gold Box *~

"Shadow!" her mother, April Akuryou, shouted up the stairs on that Saturday morning. Unlike her daughter, April had shoulder length purple hair in a ponytail, brown eyes, and pale skin. "I have to go to a meeting. Lock the door behind me. Don't answer the door or phone unless you know who that person is!"

"I know, mother!" Shadow yelled, as she appeared at the top of the stairs and sat down. "You worry to much mom." Shadow still had her PJs on which consisted of baggy light blue pants, a large white T-shirt that had the Toon Dark Magician Girl on it, and small black rimmed eyes glasses.

"Nice outfit," Miss Akuryou remarked, smiling slightly. "Why weren't you wearing your glasses yesterday?"

"I forgot to put them on in the morning," Shadow remarked, watching her mother shake her head. [AN-I've done that about ten times. And it is not easy trying to see the board from the back, considering I'm pretty tall, of the classroom.]

"Just rememer to do all the things I said," her mother said, walking out the door, and before closing it, "Bye."

"Yeah, bye," Shadow muttered, standing up and descending the steps. "I'm fourteen years old for Ra's sake. I don't need to be told to lock the doors and don't answer anything," she mummbled, locking the door.

She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and some Honey Nut Cheerios. "What to do on my Saturday morn-" Shadow started to say but the phone rang.

Not heeding her mother's words, she picked up the phone. "Akuryou residance, Shadowena speaking," Shadow said, as politly as she could.

"Please don't say Shadowena, Shad. It makes you sound like your thirty," her sister replied, and Shadow snorted. "Anyway, did you get the package Grandma sent? She sent it about four weeks ago." Their grandma had taken her sister to Egypt for the last five month, while Shadow had been their for seven months thanks to a Duel Tournament. "I told her your birthday wasn't for two weeks, but she doesn't listen to me."

"No, I didn't get it, but tell her thanks anyway," Shadow stated. "Bye." With that she hung up the phone; thats how the conversation always was anyway.

She went to the front door, unlocked it, and opened it, finding the mail- and a package- which, she would open as soon as she locked up the door-which she did.

Opening the letter on the brown package, she read:

Hello Shadowena Dear,

I found this while digging in Egypt with your sister-she is a really sweet girl, you know- and I know how much you loved Egypt when you went there, so why not have a souvenior of it. Besides, I know this is right for you.

Love, Grammy

'Yeah, a really sweet girl.' Shadow rolled her eyes. 'And I have a souveniour- My Rose Magician [AN- I made up the card.] card and a tan.' She started to open up the package.

Shadow found a small gold bow, with a bunch a hylogryphics on it. On the top it had the Eye of Horus. She blinked. 'Now where have I seen this before?' It hit her- The Eye of Horus was on Yugi's upside down pyramid puzzle!

She opened the box slowly, Gam idn't usually check what was in boxes. So Shadow could be opening a box of deadly Scorpions. Oh ra, she hoped not.

She was lucky it wasn't though. It did have three Duel Monster cards in ut, and what looked like a necklace. It was like a golden ball with two small gold wings on it and the Eye of Horus, of course holging it on was a golden string.

"What in the world?" she said, picking up the necklace. Maybe she shouldn't have done that considering her world went black.
